Unsuspecting shop, looks basically like a Bodega (duh) on a side street from the outside but inside is a small ish boutique shop with a small selection of clothes and sneakers. JUST RUN! * HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE * RUDE OWNER & STAFF * UNREASONABLE RETURN POLICY I wanted to return the jacket when I found it was too small for me. But Bodega refused to do that since they told me that it was a final-sale product. I checked up, no obvious sign on the item page to show it's a final sale item, and no obvious sign on the cart page and check-out page. They told me there is a warning on the sale page: https://bdgastore.com/collections/sale, it's true, but I don't think it's enough to let the customer know well about our rights and help us to make the decision. If I knew the jacket could not be returned I might not buy it since it's a Japanese brand and the sizing usually is weird. I tried to sort it out by emailing them, but the result is not what I expect. Also, you can see from the emails attached, the online customer support manager is extremely rude and proud which makes me feel uncomfortable as a customer. An online support manager supports me nothing. -- To Billy B. below, claimed owner, No Offense, but are you serious? The manager, Nick, was being very rude and savage to me. I used to work as a PR manager for an international fashion brand, I know how it works to please the customers and provide the best service. I also shop from almost all the hype websites including HBX, END, Supreme, DSM,  ssense, ALD, NOAH NY, Mr. Porter, matches, LN-CC, farfetch, etc. It's truly my first time being treated this way. Firstly of all, It's obvious that your website and system are not clear enough for the customers to know about the all the on-sale pieces are the final-sale pieces which is very uncommon from other shipping retailers. The same situation happens all the time according to yelp comments and you have known about it but you do nothing. Your staff should have to apologize to the customers for all the inconvenience first because of your difficult policy. Always comfort the customer, then find the best solution. And then, go to improve your website and system. But now I only see that they use "the independent company" as an excuse to get rid of my reasonable request. By the way, most of the websites I mentioned above do mark the final-sale pieces very obviously for their customers. For sure that it's very easy for your IT guys to insert a final-sale sign on every on-sale page. Secondly, if the order confirmation is a commitment between us as you said to make me obey that I can't return the products, how you could be free to just cancel 4 items of the order without my permission? It's exactly to break our commitment and agreement, isn't it?  So, you can see what you did is totally unfair to the customers. As I said to your staff, I know how hard to run an independent hype retailer, and I want to support the business. I did shop with your website multiple times. But the customer service you provide is humiliating the people who pay money to support your business. If you, as a business owner, still feel it's nothing wrong with your service and staff, that could be a disaster. read more

I personally placed 2 orders, one on 8/2 and another on 8/3 due to the semi-annual sale. According to their site, fulfillment should take 1-3 days and shipping should take 3-5 days. For the first order that I placed on 8/2, I didn't receive any updates whatsoever until the package was out for delivery. On the day it was marked as OFD, Bodega finally updated my order to send me the tracking number... again, on the same day. Shoes were fine, but I'm still waiting on my order from 8/3. I reached out to the customer service email 8/11 asking for an update. I received a reply on 8/14 that stated the following response: "As a general guideline, domestic orders take between 1-10 business days for fulfillment and 1-5 business days for shipping. International orders take between 1-10 business days for fulfillment and 3-7 business days for shipping. Please note that during high-volume sales or promotions, fulfillment and shipping times may be longer than usual and delivery times may vary based on location. Please keep in mind that we do not offer expedited shipping and we cannot be held responsible for any delays caused by third-party factors beyond our control." This is listed nowhere on their site, and I challenged this asking why the information wasn't reflected on the FAQs section, which is the information I'm going off of since it's official documentation. The representative, who never mentions their name, and I cannot make this up, sends me two Instagram links that are promotional posts for the sale they have running... it's not clear why these were sent, but neither of the post captions or media stated this revised info on shipping times and delays. I informed the rep that I was fully aware of the active sale, which is why I made the purchases. I have yet to receive any more replies to my attempts at contacting via email, Twitter, and they have turned off their IG comments because folks would probably complain about this all day. To make matters worse, a similar issue that I experienced with my shoe order from 8/2 also happened with a family member's order. They placed an order on either 8/3 or 8/4 and never received any shipment notifications, tracking numbers, nothing. We just went to the post office and had a final pick up notice marker in our PO Box, which the clerk told us the package had arrived a few days ago. No notifications whatsoever. This is by far the most annoying and jankiest shopping experience I've come across. I just want the boots I ordered and you never have to worry about me placing another order. BEWARE! When you make an online order don't expect your order to arrive anytime soon. Their site is misleading in the sense that you have no idea how long it will take until you check out and they send an email saying up to 21 days for it to process. In my case I waited more than 21 days until I grew quite worried after reading so many bad reviews about people having to wait at least a month, not getting correct items, or even having fake delivery notifications (Bodega would say it was delivered but it's no where to be found) so Bodega can then shift the blame on the carrier and you have to go deal with it. I emailed their support after waiting the 21 plus days with no order update and I got a generic response saying the order was still in the fulfillment stage and it could be more than 21 days now. It's illegal to have a customer wait for an unspecified time without consent or a refund. So I decided the best plan of action would be to contact my bank. After about 30 days and no shipment, Bodega refunded my money with the excuse saying the item was over sold. Unfortunately I don't believe their excuses at all. Why not be more transparent Bodega? Unless you are trying to hide bad behavior? You are here to serve the customer. All we want is reassurance and trust and ultimately our order or a refund. It doesn't matter if it's final sale, if you don't deliver you can't take someone's money. *** With Billy's response below, it just goes to show how out of touch Bodega operates. I love the physical store but online has been terrible. I ordered things for Christmas at the beginning of December and they haven't even shipped yet and when I reached out for help their answer was vague and when I asked to cancel the order no one responded. I was in the city with my wife and I decided to stop by this sneaker store. I think the concept of the store is amazing. A nice bodega in the front and a whole sneaker store in the back. I was not expecting the sneaker store in the back to be so nice because they emulated the Bodega so well. The sneaker store however had nice clothing and some gems. It is not as big as I pictured however, it is just the right size. They did not have too much (as sneaker heads would say) "heat" but they did have a few gems. I would go back to check this place out. Only reason I would not give it 5 stars is because there is a lot of hype around this store in terms of having "heat" however, I was sadden to see it was not the case. Purchased a ring on the 19th May to Australia and they sent the incorrect size (was unlabeled and they didn't check the size before sending it). It took 10 days to arrive, now, having to send it back to the USA, taking another 10 days, and up to another 5 business days for them to process a refund for their mistake. All up - having to wait close to a month to get a refund because they sent an unlabeled box and ring and didn't bother to check sizing before sending it. Checked in twice and been in the store a total of, maybe, 30 minutes and already Duchess of Bodega. Welp, I have to write about this "grocery store" that's, in reality, an upscale sneaker boutique. Who knew!?! This spot was a clue in a scavenger hunt I was playing and on initial entrance, I thought "wow, small, old school looking cleaning products" and "where's the shoes?" Upon walking closer to the vending machine towards the back of the grocery store, it slides open to loud music, bright lights, and even brighter and expensive shoes! Those Riccardo Tisci x Nike joints I've seen on IG was there, along with dope color ways of Nike Air Maxs and Roshes. It's the most clever thing to have a sound proof room like that. Probably the absolute worst customer service and experience buying anything ever. So I ordered something ($575 boots) O idk 3 weeks ago. Like most things online that you buy your supposed to be able to track the package. I checked everyday to see if there was any status updates. And after almost a week of their being no invoice about any package being received or shipped / sent from ups on their page (the link that was provided to me) I sent out a email to Bodega asking them what the delay was. I then soon after got an update that a shipping label was created (got that update from the shop application) and when I tracked it through there with the given tracking number I was taken to the ups page. Once there that was all the information that was there a shipping label had been created. However they said they didn't receive a package and that I would be notified once they do receive said package. Now it's 2 weeks later and still no package has been received by ups. When I inquire about this via email someone responds saying "yea ups has no further invoice about your order. If you want you can wait a couple more days to see if gets to them and if it doesn't well then refund you your money." How is that an actual response that is given to a customer? And then when I ask for clarification I get no answers. Your live chat doesn't work? And you have no customer service number. This is insane read more

Bodega is a 'hidden' sneaker/apparel shop created by Oliver Mak, Jay Gordon, and Dan Natola. The front is literally a 'bodega,' but once you walk-in and know how to get through the secret 'doors,' you step inside a store that carries brands such as Brain Dead, By Parra, Human Made, Maison Kitsune, and Stone Island. I literally died and almost went to heaven. I loved their tops, their kicks line-up, as well as their bags. Have a question on an item or want to inquire something that they don't have? Ask one of the friendly staff - they're super friendly and welcoming! You can peruse as long as you want; I literally could have stayed in there forever! 2.5 is probably more accurate. Fun shop with cool releases; I have have a few of their collabs and love them. Customer support is really terrible though, and the copy/pasted messages (over and over) are insulting. Stop sending me a bot asking for a rating (here it is!) saying to reach out and you'll do what you can to resolve the issue. No you won't! I've spent a lot of money at their store (including insanely high shipping costs that I wouldn't spend anywhere else), and I can't even cancel an order I made for the wrong size (not properly marked) when I *immediately* wrote to cancel. I get the "quick strike" deal, but they need to get over themselves and make exceptions when it's the right thing to do. This experience makes me want to stop buying anything from them just because I don't think it's a good way to treat customers, especially repeat/loyal ones. read more

My order was lost during delivery, and support told me to file the claim with UPS. I sorted it out with UPS, and they are willing to issue a refund - the only problem is that the store should have filed a claim, not me. UPS doesn't work with me directly, and they can only refund to the store, 4 different people told me that. The support, however, keeps telling me this is how it's supposed to be and that the order is not claim eligible. The only thing required from them is to file a claim from their side, but it's too complicated apparently. read more

I have been visiting Bodega for several years, it is one of my favorite little Boston gems hidden, in plain sight. Disguised as a regular Bodega in the front once, you enter through the Snapple machine you are transported into a cool sneaker boutique. Now if you are a sneaker enthusiast as myself, you will get a kick of this entire concept. You will find dope collaborations pieces between Bodega & Saucony. Exclusive nikes, New Balance etc, some dead stocks. They also have t-shirts, caps, and other merch & accessories. Average pair of kicks will run about $120.00, t-shirts about $40+ Worth visiting while in Boston. This is my first time buying collaboration sneaker (New Balance 9060 X Bodega Age of Discovery) without fighting with BOT or without any trouble. Probably due to my full email box, I didn't get the confirmation email and a day later, these shoes are out of stock and I was worried if I really got a chance to have these shoes on my feet. Super dope experience. There's really no other place like it. There's places that sell streetwear all over the world but the combination of the bodega and 'secret' showroom really gives you the feeling of being a curator of a secret culture. The street it's located on is super low key and reflects that you come there because you know it's there, not because you got drawn in because of a cheesy changing showroom display. As a female going into streetwear stores there's usually an undertone of 'the boys club' but they carry a pretty decent stock of small sizes, womens sneakers and they don't segregate them as much as other stores do. Some other reviewers talk about price point but in comparison to other brands, I really don't think it's crazy but maybe it's because I've grown accustomed to $40 t shirts; don't come here and think it's a place you can walk out spending $30 for 2 things. I purchased a couple things but in seeing a very minor stain on a white hat, the staff offered me a discount and still attempted to clean it as much as possible.... that type of shit says it all. It's barely noticeable now. Don't come in to see a Snapple door slide, go to Urban Outfitters if you aren't coming here to support the culture... Supreme didn't become who they are today by selling $20 t shirts. Exclusivity comes at a price. read more

A week later, I still have not received any tracking info so I tried to call. you can't contact anyone over the phone as only email communication is available. granted they responded right away. here is what I received. Friendly Reminder: The following fulfillment and shipping timeline can be utilized strictly as a general timeline and is not exact: 1-10 business days for Fulfillment + 1-5 business days Domestic Ground Shipping 1-10 business days for Fulfillment + 3-7 business days International Shipping I was shocked. there is absolutely no indication or inform on their website available regarding a 1-10 business days for fulfillment before shipping. That's up to two weeks for them to get an item out of the door, and you pay for shipping. You can't even cancel an order they have not bothered working on ship to you. Cheap goods and sub standard customer experience. I will never buy from an online store who doesn't bother having a phone or employing a staff to answer customers calls. Having canned pre scripted answers is not my idea of good or even average customer service. Buy product from a reputable retailer Don't be fooled by how good the photos of the product you want to buy is. All reputable retailers will take cancellation and return on both full price, sale and discontinued goods.
