Tried to buy a new iPhone for my Verizon plan in the upstairs electronic section, but the staff were no help. I didn't have my Verizon pin, but the assistant essentially said "not our problem" and sat there while I spent 40 mins trying to locate the pin online or via Verizon customer service - all the while the "assistant" just cracked wise with his colleagues. read more

Decent Target (if you overlook the fact that the grocery section was closed a few weeks back for rat droppings....!) right by the metro in CoHi. It always seems just slightly understaffed for the crowds - and this being the only Target in DC, is bound to get crowded. Lord grant you patience if you have to make a return! Otherwise, same old stuff as any other Target. read more

The worst run Target I have ever been into. Every time I'm here there is a shortage of employees resulting in lines that take 30+ minutes. The nonchalant attitudes of employees just furthers the frustration. I understand that this is a city Target and can't be expected to meet the standards for a larger suburban store, but this crosses the line from being a for-profit organization to running more like a high school store. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

I think the convenience of this target is based solely on your proximity, if you're within walking distance it's great otherwise it's probably not worth it to make the trip. This location also has a grocery store plus beer and wine, which is the best part of this target because it spares you from going to an additional store while running errands. This place has been a tad messy and a bit under stocked, like in the freezer aisle, and there is always a line at checkout seemingly regardless of time. The staff is friendly and helped me to locate a store where I could buy stamps which they do not sell. read more

Your typical Target! The lines can often be long any day of the week. This target always has good deals on chicken. When you can find a staff member, they try to be helpful. read more

Really nice Target to do some grocery shopping in, even at 10:30 at night. The service members are very helpful and funny. :) This Target has a good variety for a DC grocery store, including organic and vegan-friendly products. When I'm in the area, it's a good place to stop into. read more

Are you ready for the worst Target you've ever seen? Then this is the place for you! Here's why: -11 carts full of clothes in the women's clothing section blocking most of the pathways because employees hadn't put clothes back on the racks all day today (this was on a Wednesday) -fitting room closed early so the employees could finally put clothes back: "there are only two people here" Bonus round: Since they closed the fitting room, I was then told I "could buy the clothing, try it on in their [gross] bathroom, then return what I didn't want." Seriously. -I've never actually seen an employee put clothing back. Ever. There are perennially 3 employees constantly by the fitting rooms chatting, though -nothing is ever on the correct-size hanger or in order. Want a size Medium? Better check the hanger marked XXL or Small -the sealed drinks constantly have liquid on the tops of them. It's gross. What even is that? - I witnessed an employee snap at a girl for unfolding a bedspread she was buying to see it next to other things -I don't do most of my grocery shopping here, so back to clothes: the selection is SO picked-over. It's supposed to be a full-size Target, but they rarely have the clothing they advertise (big fan of their WhoWhatWear line, but they don't get most of the new stuff often) -it's somehow the only Target in Washington, DC so the standard is "well this is the only choice you have" read more

Good bye to all the overpriced Safeway/Giant/CVS toilet paper...now there's a Target in the hood and it's 1) in DC and 2) Metro accessible. Let the impulse buying begin.... read more

This is probably the worst Target I've been to! It's always disorganized and they are frequently out of stock of a lot of items; I've gone there three times looking for vacuum bags, and this last time they still had to fetch them from the back! The only good thing about it is that it's really convenient to get to, since it's next to the metro. read more

A swanky Target right off the Colombia Heights Metro. Easy access, new, clean and full of great bargains! So convenient!

Good store in general. The pharmacy is painfully slow and incompetent.

I love the location of this Target, but I don't love the layout of the store. Women's clothing is on the first floor and the shoes are on the second floor. Nearly every department I walked through was disorganized and not fully stocked. It's not likely that you will find what you need, should it be apparel. read more

Always a terrible wait at register. Huge line and only 3 cashiers. I count 9 closed registers

Employees here are {proactive}, unlike their rivals 'cross the street (b-cubed, i'm raisin' my eyebrows at you although you've got some neato products to work with), and also bucking the reputed trend of this city-state at large, but I jest. Let's see what I've gotten here that's proved worth the salt/dough. Oh, mattress topper! the memory foam one that had rave rev's on their likely worldwide website. Hazelnut latte flavor quaker instant oats with real hazelnut shards. Blackberries from my homies in Watsonville, Ca and Organic salad from Ca as well. Beats traderjoe's in the winter since local products on this coast aren't really happenin' right now. An SD card with a lifetime warranty (shh, I've yet to register, but once I say I Do, the rest is herstory). read more

As we know Target has everything you need all in one store (now selling your typical groccery food items), but this target is a hit or miss. At times ive seen only one item on the shelf. This target is unique because it have two floors. I usually find the upstairs to have alot more items in stock. My real compliant is the never have my strawberry and mango smoothies ready when I want them GET IT TOGETHER *ive been there at all times too!!* read more

The worst Target I've ever patronized. Poorly stocked and poorly designed. After you walk in and grab a cart, you'll have to dodge a crowd of people standing in lines (or looking for lines). When you check out, the lines creep along slowly, and except for the express check out (which is only ever half-staffed), all lines are separate, eliminating the possibility of Whole Foods or Trader Joe-style line efficiency. Only positive is the price point of most of the products. read more

This target is like a walmart! Can't find anything, can't find any assistance. It is a bit messy too. I was very shocked to see a target like this. read more

Wow, compared to other reviews I just read, I MUST have shopped on a very special day as I actually had a great visit. It's an urban Target, so I expect it to be a bit more crowded, but it's more the clientele that seemed different rather than the store itself. (On this day, LOTS of rowdy less-than-25-year-olds.) I guess the employee pool is somewhat reflective of the location (typical retail worker in an urban area during a time of low unemployment - so less educated? any objections?), but the workers I encountered - few, to be sure - were fine. My checker was friendly and sweet, as a matter of fact. (I purposefully checked out with a LIVE person, as the self-checkout was miles long.) I was here during a holiday weekend so it was bustling but the shelves were reasonably full and tidy. I didn't need any assistance in the aisles so I didn't encounter that headache and I didn't shop the clothing section this time. But I shop Target regularly and this one was fine. Today. read more

We love our local Target depot. It is so convenient for a one stop shop place. By far the best selection and price for pet supplies; man's best friend. I bought my bicycle there as well, wheeled it right to the register and rode home. They have an excellent selecton of bikes ready to go, some under $100. read more

This Target gets the job done but it's not the cleanest nor the friendliest. It's always busy which wouldn't be an issue if there were ample cashiers. The location keeps me coming back because it's so convenient to Logan Circle. read more

This Target always seems to look like a hurricane is about to hit with half empty shelves and hordes of people teeming about (some shoplifting small items). I love me some Target but I have never left this one with everything on my list. Still - it is a Target - it is by the Metro - and it's probably the best we can get in this small town. read more

Why is every one hating on this target? When RT 1 target and Baileys X roads (Were there are more DC plates than VA ones) are both out of every thing constantly, and both seem content to on longer carry any thing that is not a top seller. And when did target get yuppie? If you have ever been to the Midwest you would know that target is like walmart only slightly nicer and it gives back more. I stopped at this target when I was at a friends house in DC; After going in I realized it was like the target in Springfield Mall, two floors with a cart escalator. Its easy to get around if you look up, I look up to see what types of shelves are around and go from there, also targets tend to have maps by the escalators. I found seasonal easy, and this target had the LED lights I wanted that the targets close to my house were out of. When I looked at the cloths, shoes and housewares this Target has the same poor shoe section that every target seems to have going on for a few years now, slightly less clothing than RT1, but the same has the one at Baileys, and more home stuff then RT 1. Every Target has its trade-offs. This one beats the one in downtown'ish Milwaukee. read more

Love this Target!! Very convenient, and even though it can get super crowded, there's always enough space because, well, it's Target. Great selection, too. read more

Always enjoy a visit to Target. Their new clean look and wide variety of offerings make for a pleasant experience!

Welcome, Columbia Heights Target! To understand why this Yelper is so happy about it, read my review of the Potomac Yard Target under its own thread. BTW, the cart escalators are called a Vermaport or Cartveyor and Target has used them in its multi-leveled stores for years. read more

Target in the District- I can never compain about that! Yes they are always out of things because its the only Target around but I love Target and they can never do me wrong. Yay Target! read more

Please let me begin by saying I judge this Target by other Targets..not other types of store. So...anyways... I'm usually a fairly easy going person. I don't b*tch to the clerk when its taking long for something to get done, or loudy sigh and roll my eyes when someone is in my way. But this place tries the hell outta my patience. I love Target. I really do. They have a very important role in my normal everyday function. And their bakery? Far too awesome for a chain-store. But this place is sadly in need of some good management and/or employees. I've seen a few reviews claiming its in a disadvantaged neighborhood and blah blah blah. BS. Seriously, I have found the customers to overall be friendly and orderly and not at all a problem. And the place is PACKED, so don't try to say that their business is slow. The shoe rack there is so disorganized and hellish its crazy. The food court makes me worry I'm getting Hep C just from being in the vicinity. And the goddamn pharmacy causes a line to block all of the health and beauty aisles. So my take: if you are like me and don't have your car with you in DC, or don't see a point to having a car in the District, shop here. But if you can and do go to the 'burbs for shopping, you are better off finding another Target. 'nough said. read more

A convenient place to shop without having to leave the city limits. Some sections are sparse, though they always seem to have essentials in stock. The negatives: store's lay out is a bit confusing and employees seem more concerned with trying to obtain each others phone numbers rather than assisting customers. read more

This target is down the street from my school I have my ups and downs with this store i prefer think that when you come they never have what you want especially in the entertainment section ( Movies and high Expense electronics such ipods or tablets the shelves are always left with all the last choices in colors and styles and things go unmarked or things on sale are marked twice with everything it is very cheap and not to crowd it's located right off of Columbia heights station which is convenient and replaces the Maryland drive to a walmart not much plus sized clothes here or many shoes in large sizes over a 8 what have witnessed is they have lots of security walking but from my seeings it's still vary easy to steal from here, read more

When you visit a "real" Target out in the suburbs, you realize the Columbia Heights location is a joke. Sure, it can't be as big, but does this mean it should be constantly low on stock of items? For example, I wanted to buy a picture frame that was a specific size. According to Target.com, it's in stock at the Columbia Heights location. For the past few weeks, I've stopped in to find it, and it's never there. The aisle with the frames is like a ghost town with just a few frames messily piled up and mislabeled. The supply has never been replenished, and it's been months now. Clearly Target doesn't care about this, and they'll happily share misinformation on their website just to get you in there. Unless you are just getting really typical stuff, like toilet paper, don't bother going to this location. It's been forgotten by the Target corporation. read more

Helpful employees. It is Ok for a Target, not perfect, just Ok, if you know what I mean. Near a Metro station is a PLUS!

I almost didn't go here after reading all the negative reviews. Despite this, I didn't feel like driving to MD or VA so I walked over from Adams Morgan, and I'm so glad I did. I found everything I needed, and the customer service was just fine. Its super convenient. In fact, I'm going over there now to get some king size sheets for my new mattress! Love that I can walk to a target and Bed Bath and Beyond! read more

Why is there only one person in customer service who wants to help. I have one girl who has been on the phone on hold for twenty minutes... Not doing anything except stare at us. Another sales person walks away, and one actually helping us and 13 customers waiting? read more

Stuck in long line hell for the past ten minutes. Staff cannot move any slower. Left Giant because I thought Target would be faster. Mistake. read more

Only complaint is that it is not a Super Target. But otherwise, friendly staff and good selection of clothing to home goods to food.

One of their employees was extremely disrespectful to me. Their name was "Domino" or something like that. Their employee was still taking a personal call on their smartwatch after walking over to me when I asked for help, and didn't hang up until another minute or so. Fine, ok, no big deal. I stated clearly I just have a simple question about this product - a journal - because its missing its price sticker and has some damage inside. And because another product with similar issues had a discount price sticker on it, so Target clearly gives out discounts on products with slight wear or damage. "Domino" didn't listen to me, just yanked the journal from my hand and scanned the manufacturer's barcode for the listed price. And I tried to explain I wasn't sure if they had a discount for it or not because yes, the price came up for the manufacturer's barcode, but I didn't know if Target had a discount price sticker or not for it. "Domino" ignored what I said and scanned it again three times in a row, then asked me if I wanted it still, and then kept talking without letting me speak and asked me if I wanted to buy all four. At this point I didn't know what to say because I thought my question was simple and stress-free to answer, either "This journal doesn't have a discount" or "The price is whatever the barcode says". Before I could even finish explaining "I just thought it might have a discount because one of the other journals has a discount sticker on it", "Domino" just insulted me by saying, word for word, "Do you understand what I am saying?" So Target employees think its ok to take phone calls while at work, ignore customers' questions, and then talk down at customers with disrespect and make them seem stupid? I only asked two things and "Domino" is already talking over me while ignoring everything I said. This was enough of an uncomfortable experience I never want to shop at this Target again and have to deal with any of their employees. read more
