Just got off the phone with the regional director and the manager - my glasses were sent to the store, against my wishes. Literally, not one single step of this has gone correctly. And their big mea culpa? Ooooh, 20% refund! That I have to go all the way back there to get! Wow, may I? Can I please drive 45 mins back to your joke of a store for $20-$30? ____________________________ STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not the type to usually write reviews but this whole experience has me beyond furious. On October 15th, 2015, my family and I visited the Optical center at Store #4110/Chicago, located at 2656 N. Elston Ave. It was a pretty standard experience - I had a routine eye exam and picked out new glasses. The first indication that I was in for a ride came as I went over my order with the sales associate; she didn't bother to review my lenses options or prices, she just presented the total to me as a fait accompli. I had to literally point to every item on the receipt to find out why the price was so high, even with my insurance. After I got the total to a point where I was comfortable, I placed my order and we left. That evening, I realized the staff hadn't given me a copy of my prescription, as required by law. I called and they said they would have it waiting when I returned to pick up my order. I came in the next week to pick up my glasses and immediately knew something was off - I couldn't see at all out of my right eye. The assistants looked up my prescription and the order was keyed in incorrectly - I believe they said, "Wow, that's not even close!" They assured me that they would re-order my glasses and place a rush. I left, again without my prescription, and had to run in to have them write it down. (It was not waiting, as previously promised.) I returned the next week (as soon as my schedule permitted) to pick up my re-ordered glasses. I tried them on and, in looking around to test them, I noticed my left eye now felt off. I kept feeling that I had to readjust them on my face, kept having to push them over into the bridge of my nose. I told the assistant and she said, "Oh, they're new. Just live with them for a day and you'll be fine." I reluctantly agreed and left. Not once did she attempt to fit them to my face or do the routine checks to see if they were accurate. I wore them the entire next day and almost gave myself a bruise on my nose from trying to readjust them all day. I got a splitting headache and switched back to my old pair as soon as I got home. Over the next week and a half, I would try them on to see if they magically got any better and they didn't. At this point, I was fed up and frustrated. I wanted to write the whole experience off, visit Costco with my new coverage in the upcoming year and never visit Target Optical again. My husband talked me into returning to store to try and resolve the issue; after all, I had paid for glasses I was unable to wear. I returned to the store on November 7th. I explained my issue to the staff and they started checked the lenses to ensure the prescription was correct and then checked to see if the vision center on the lenses was correct. I was initially told that the center was off, and that's why I was having issues to no, the reason why I'm having issues is that I didn't buy the most expensive lenses. Yes, they actually said that because I didn't want to fork over almost $300 on top of my insurance is the reason I couldn't see out of my left eye. Intimating that it was my fault for not upgrading. When I tried to explain that I've never had this problem in the 30 years I've been wearing glasses and that I've alternatively had the upgrades, they discounted my opinion and told me that to fix my issue, I'd have to pay another $175 for the new lenses. With this information, I started to get visibly upset. The manager stepped in at this point and said that they would comp the new lenses for my inconvenience. I was mollified, but still aghast at how I was treated. They asked how I would like to receive my glasses and I requested that they ship them to my home as I was uncomfortable with returning to the store (given the salespersons attitudes). Confirmed my address with the clerk and I left. I still haven't received my glasses. I gave them two full weeks for delivery and I called Monday night to follow up. I spoke with a young girl named Stephanie who placed me on hold for over 5 minutes, then came back on the line and nervously asked if she could call me back as this required some research on her part. I agreed, gave her my direct line at work and waited. As of Tuesday evening I still hadn't received a call back. I called again, asked for Stephanie but she wasn't in. I again explained my issue and was placed on hold. Again, the sales person came on the line to say they needed to research this and could the manager call me in the morning? I still haven't received a call. NEVER EVER EVER EVER GO TO TARGET OPTICAL EVER. read more

I was really nervous about changing eye doctors, seeing as I've been going to the same one since 3rd grade. The staff was friendly and Dr. Adas is wonderful! She makes her patients feel so comfortable. I'm glad to have found such an amazing doctor in the city. read more

My husband and I came here last week for eye exams and we're both beyond satisfied with the level of service we received from the moment we got there. Making the appointment was so easy I actually called to make it just to make sure they accepted our insurance. Dr. Adas did our eye exams and she was very informative, patient, kind, and made sure I was at ease since I hadn't had an eye exam in over 15 years. She was AMAZING! Everyone else who helped us out were equally as kind and informative. Nobody seemed pushy or tried to sell us anything extra. They had a great selection of lenses as well! The best experience I've had during an eye exam. The doctor knows exactly what she's doing; she checks your eyes with different material and lights to see if something else is going around your pupils. She was really gentle explaining to me that the color contacts is only wear for 2 weeks after that you have to throw that one away and put a new one; something that my previous eye's doctor never told me about. My new job requires perfect vision, so I took my slightly imperfect eyes to Dr Ross at Target Optical to get a last-minute and non-insurance covered pair of glasses. Not only was I able to get a same-day appointment, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had never been to an optometrist before, and Dr Ross was very easy-going and explained to me what was going on. After the exam, Arlester was very helpful in helping me choose a set of frames - she was very honest as to what looked good on me and what didn't. I am happy with the glasses I got, but one star off for a small selection (at least compared to the women's) of men's frames. read more

These guys let the last doctor there take my chart and have no clue where he is for me to get it back. On top of that, they won't release my prescription to another optical place. And the lady was super rude. Cheap prices would never bring me back here. Went there to get a check up and get fitted for contacts. There was a slight mishap with my insurance but Frank, Sheana, and Dr. Adas, we're still so friendly and welcoming. Sheana was very patient with helping me put in and take out my contacts...it was a little frustrating. I have been going to Dr. Adas for seven years. She's the best. She personally gets 5 stars. Despite having hundreds of customers, she still remembers each one as if their last visit was yesterday. She is always up on the latest technologies, is highly skilled and knowledgeable, and is extremely practical in her product and prescription recommendations. The one star gets dropped because of the after work target optical chaos. I suggest going during the day if you can. After work is over scheduled and/or backed up. read more

I love Target - but this Optical center has been very disappointing. I was purchasing glasses for my son - our initial order didn't come in for 6 weeks because of screw ups with the lab and staff - someone cancelled the order so until I followed up then they had to start the order over obviously making our wait time even longer. I brought the insurance and wanted to get the replacement glasses, placed order on the 15th, they stated delivery on the 25th and by the 5th of the next month still had not heard a peep from them, finally called them to check on the order, oh they don't have those frames anymore....guess they were just going to keep my money. I will continue to shop at Target but I'm done with Optical - guess they can't do everything..... read more
