I was about to give Perez Eye 0 stars. I went into my exam with 20/20 vision, and when I walked out of the exam room, I started to see double! My eye doctor became 2 in the lobby! Then, I realized that the doctor is actually a twin, so it's actually doctor(s). All jokes aside, I am glad I can see Perez for all my vision needs. They are informative, responsive, and caring. They explain what's up with your eyes, and give you the right tips to keep em healthy. For your next exam, give them a call. Although they cannot change your beer goggles, they can help you see clearly while sober. read more

I've had two appointments at Perez Eye Care. Each appointment was absolutely fantastic. Dr. Davis enthusiastically answered all questions that I had. The rest of the staff was welcoming and friendly. I shopped through their frames, and a woman (don't remember her name, but have seen her before) helped me as I looked, but I never felt pressure to buy. With that said, I look forward to purchasing my frames from Perez. I absolutely will be back, and recommend that my friends, family, and colleagues use this doctor as well. I set up an appointment to get contacts. I got there and, after conducting the entire $25 eye exam, they told me that I had to go to their separate office 30 minutes away on a different day to get topography done because they didn't have the machine at that office. They then gave me a prescription with no axis details that would help me get glasses from a different provider. This was a complete waste of time and money. They need to say upfront, at scheduling, whether they even have the means to give me contacts so I can pick a proper provider. read more

Dr. Perez and her staff are AWESOME!! This was my first time there and I have VSP for insurance, my eliglibilty just kicked in 5/2/11(so stoked to get my contacts) but for some reason they had not processed me (even my benefit specialist had to try to manually add me the day b4; WHAT A HEADACHE) yet the staff was very understanding and didn't make me feel like a fool for it not coming up as eligible. Earlier this year we went to Perez for our annual check up and to get eye-glasses and contact lenses, having several repeated visits . The service we received was polite and efficient and the Dr. Davis was very patient and knowledgeable. However, there are two things that are sticking points for us and very unprofessional. The first is neglect and disregard for their patients. After a follow up visit, I was having an eye emergency so I called to see if I could be seen immediately. After letting them know I was in the area and would be willing to wait, I was told I couldn't be seen. Since this was an emergency visit, I thought that as a current patient with several recent visits, I would be accommodated for treatment ASAP. The lady over the phone didn't even ask follow up questions as to what was wrong. Instead, about an hour later I received a call offering me an appointment in the middle of the day after. I explained I couldn't wait because my eye was tearing too much and I never heard back from Perez. I ended up going to "Myeyedoctor," who took me in immediately, even though I wasn't a regular patient. I was told that I was having an allergy reaction that was causing me to constantly tear from the one eye. The second issue relates to my partner. Most of the appointments were scheduled back to back for my spouse and myself, both visiting Dr. Davis and both paying with the same credit card. My spouse asked Dr. Davis a general question regarding contact lenses on my behalf and Dr. Davis' response was that she could not discuss it with him because it was a privacy issue. Mind you, his question was not of a specific nature but a general question about contact lenses options; any benefits when wearing daily vs monthly. Generally, I don't have an oversensitive nature but I wonder if the doctor would have been more open to discuss this general question (which is not at all a privacy issue) if the question was being asked by a wife regarding her husband or vice-versa. This second issue is not a big deal but not accommodating me, a current patient while having an eye emergency is inexcusable, clearly demonstrating that Perez doesn't care for their patients eye heath. Needless to say we will not be going back to Perez again! read more

Pleasent experience. The sisters here did a great job of finding the correct contacts for my deteriorating vision (just hit 40). They recommended a new brand and my eyes couldn't be happier. I've been here multiple times, and every interaction - phone, walk-in, appointment, etc. - with them has been fantastic. I've had glasses my entire life, and rarely have I been inspired to come back for a repeat visit with any particular optometrist. The staff there are pleasant, informed, and work hard to make sure your insurance and discounts are optimized for what you need. They aren't pushy when it comes to expensive frames, but know their stock well and when extra lens applications may be helpful or discourage them if they wouldn't be helpful. I had a lens pop out frequently on a new pair of prescription sunglasses, and they replaced them for me within just a couple days and haven't had any issues with those frames since. read more

I have very mixed feelings about Perez and not sure how to reconcile all the positives and negatives. On the negative side: (1) their lab mishandled my $600 European frame, broke it and didn't want to take responsibility for it, and (2) when I put on my new computer viewing glasses everything was a blur, and I could not see clearly with both eyes at any distance. On the other hand, the staff seems friendly and genuinely trying to help, and Dr. Davis was very professional and thorough when she checked my eyes, though I will need to return to recheck the prescription. I don't know why the new prescription was so egregiously wrong, and why a supposedly experienced lab lost the metal clips that keep the upper and lower parts of the frame together and played dumb (they just said they could not fit the glasses on the frame - yes it happens when you lost the clips). Rather than replacing a comparable frame, Perez helped me negotiate with the lab and I was given a free frame (~$170 or so in value), but this is much lower value, and I would rather have my high-end lightweight German frame back. Without the metal clips it's now useless. While I cannot say anything here is directly Perez's fault and the staff patiently helped me through the shocking and frustrating process, this has been a rather unpleasant and time consuming experience, not to mention expensive. After one month, I am $900 out of pocket and ended with a pair of glasses that don't work. If you do use Perez, be careful with using your own fancy expensive frames as I am not sure if their lab have experienced technicians. read more

I really love this place. I was trying to find a new eye doctor in the loop area since I've moved to the city and I found Perez on Yelp, so thought I'd give them a try. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. Front desk staff ladies are great! I have the best fashion talks with the one woman, haha. My only minor complaint is that I wish they had more eye glasses to pick from. That's not saying they don't have a lot of options, but I've been to other places where they have like double the selection. I did manage to find something in the end though, so I'm still going to give this place 5 stars. Would definitely recommend to others. read more

She was the first doctor I had to discover that I had damaged by retina when I was in the FOURTH GRADE (in the 70's, which this is not, by the way). She discovered my glaucoma at the same time. Not really to pushy here, they made some suggestions which I considered and opted for the poly-carb lenses, but nothing more. I was kind of skeptical since people all rated 5 stars. But my experience was great. I had the appointment with Dr. Davis. She is very nice, patient and helpful. She recommended everything very reasonable. And the price for this facility is really reasonable too! I am very satisfied with this facility. I will do my eye exam and get my contacts/glasses from here in the future too if I need them. I need my contacts to be arrived by Friday and I came here on a Wednesday during the holiday season. The office seems to have up to date and cutting edge technology and I would feel comfortable getting an initial work up from Dr. Perez if my vision changed significantly. I went here for an eye exam last week since it is a preferred optometrist with my insurance. I had a great experience and very thorough eye exam, which I've never had. Everyone was very friendly and professional and it is an all female staff, which made me very comfortable. Dr. Perez noted something abnormal in my right eye which no other optometrist has noted and recommended I see a specialist. Extremely Satisfied! Went there on a recommendation from a co-worker. When I called to schedule they were booked up for a week or so but had a cancellation slot that I was able to get into. At first I wondered why they were back logged that far; however, when I went I quickly figured it out. The waiting room never had more than 2 people which showed me they keep the schedule, my appointment was at 2:30p and they took me back at 2:28p. When I went in to get my eyes checked they took the time to make sure I had the right contacts. She asked me to change them a couple times just to make sure I would be happy. This is not a "factory" type exam, they take the time to get it right. As long as I work in the loop, I will go back. read more

This office is really great. I see Dr. Davis who I believe is only in on Wed and Thurs. But I paid $150 for an exam, contact fitting, dilation and a quick test to see if I'd be a good LASIK candidate. I ended up having to come back 2 more times because the contacts weren't quite right. They squeezed me in and didn't charge me extra for these appointments. I'd also already ordered a year supply of contacts that ended up not being good for me and it was no problem. You can tell they really just want to get it right and aren't out to take your money. Awesome doctor. read more
