Disappointed with my experience here. The eye exam was significantly more expensive than at other places I've been to. On top of that, Dr. Asano refused to approve my contact lens order from any online retailer, claiming they weren't an 'approved brand'--even though it was the same brand I've always used. It felt like a push to order directly from her at a marked-up price. If you value the freedom to order your own lenses, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I have tried 5 different optometrists in 5 years and have been very disappointed in the service, the doctor, and their inability to take the time and effort in my exam or in giving me the correct prescription. The experience has felt like I'm just person they could jam into their schedule and conduct a quick exam with little knowledge, try to sell me the most expenses products and get me out of the door. However, this place was a breath of fresh air! From the moment you call the office to schedule an appointment to the service, the doctor and everything else related to my appointment was amazing. The office staff is so friendly and will go above and beyond to help you. The doctor was great - very knowledgeable, friendly, took her time in truly explaining why and how she conducted each procedure, showed me in detail the results of my test. Excellent, efficient, accurate eye doctor who pays attention to the details - which, quite frankly, you need when it comes to your vision. You go there to SEE better, and if you're not sure what that means, she can figure that out for you. It's not just "1 or 2, 3 or 4", but if you hesitate or respond confidently. My prescription needed just a bit of tweaking, and after mentioning my dry eyes, recommended two brands with samples that were MILES BETTER than what I was using before. It was the difference between putting an eye drop in (new contacts) vs mini scratchy wool blankets that made you want to claw your eyes out (old contacts). Started after all the sanitizing on time, done in about 30 minutes, with samples - BOOM. I can see and I have my new eye doctor. Parking is brutal, but well worthwhile. read more

Finally a proper optometrist who cares! I had been to 2 previous optimists the past 5 years and they were both Pearle Vision's and they were both useless. Hellbent on upselling me and now recently discovered, giving me the wrong prescription. Dr.Asano is incredibly nice, informative and seems to actually care for your vision. I was never pressured into anything and now I will be able to actually read books again. As I thought I had some sort of eye degeneration since I went to Pearle Vision only 3 months prior for a new prescription which was wrong. Go here. But what I didn't expect was to have such patient and helpful people in Dr. Asano and Kelly. Firstly, Dr. Asano was the first person to tell me about how I could get dailys via insurance due to my prescription. Secondly, both Dr. Asano and Kelly were extremely patient with my glasses situation as I thought I had the wrong prescription (they weren't wrong). Thirdly, they carry a good number of eyewear that I like. But lastly and most importantly, they were extremely kind and helpful every step of the way. I've been going to Dr. Asano for years, even before she had her own practice. She's a good friend of mine so it's a no brainer that I trust her. Now my eyes are pretty straightforward. I got Lasik done several years ago, so I just need a regular exam to make sure things are a-ok. My husband, on the other hand, gets corneal abrasions. His eyes are a big old mess. Dr. Asano has been great at helping him maintain his eyes and keep the abrasions at bay. She's always up to date on professional development and her practice uses the latest fancy doodads. Not only that, but she's super cool as a person. Back before kids, she would regularly volunteer her time and expertise to serve poor communities in South America. The staff, Kelly and Soohee are the best and they give very helpful and realistic suggestions for what will work for my face shape and me. I sought out Dr. Asano after moving to the West Loop area, and was pleasantly surprised by the experience. They've implemented a robust online check-in system to make sure all of your documents are taken care of, and they've made appointments and pick-up as safe as I could imagine in the COVID era. The staff is friendly and helpful, and you can even use Apple pay to make the experience nearly 100% contactless. Which is the reason I needed an eye checkup. read more

Dr. Asano and her staff are excellent! Very impressed. I've been looking for a new neighborhood eye doctor and I've definitely found one. I was able to schedule an appointment easily online. I didn't have to wait at all once I arrived, and her staff is very friendly and professional. During the appointment, Dr Asano talked me through the entire checkup process, and even taught me about the history of my particular contacts. She was able to recommend better lenses which are much more comfortable than the lenses I've been wearing for years. My trial lenses were available to pick up the next day, and ordering through her office is simple. The only warning I have is walk or take the train to the Morgan stop as parking is tough to come by in this area. However, I drove there without a plan, so there might be better parking than I was able to find after a couple laps around the block. read more

Alright, so my glasses got run over by a car. As in, the glasses I need to be able to cross streets or recognize people without getting uncomfortably close or really see at all and wear every day. They fell out of my pocket while I was wearing my sunglasses and they had already met their end when I found them again. After calling a number of places - panicked, I might add - Eyes On Fulton was able to see me within hours, as my prescription was expired and were 99% sure they could have new glasses for me by the next day. Both Dr. Asano and Kelly were great with walking me through my options (mostly the fact that I had to go out of pocket for the lenses, but they made sure I had a receipt for FSA, and that they charged the eye exam to insurance), taking the frames I had purchased at another retailer, and obviously, getting me new glasses within 24 hours of my appointment. I hazard to say I like my new glasses a lot better, and needed a reup anyway, though I guess I wish I had come to the office under better circumstances. I'll be back to grab a second pair or simply for my checkups, as I had such a great experience and would highly recommend. Even if your glasses don't get run over by a car. read more

I recently went to Eyes on Fulton for a new pair of glasses. I was apprehensive because of COVID but the staff takes things seriously. They take your temperature and give you hand sanitizer as you enter. Everyone wears masks and the doctor wears a face shield as well. It's not like me to review anything other than food. But, i have to make an exception here because the girls at Eyes on Fulton were just exceptional. As a visitor from SoCal, i was kind of upset that i had forgotten to pack my sunglasses. So after a fantastic lunch at Little Goat nearby, I was so happy to have stumbled upon this super cute boutique. The interior is like someone's ultra posh walk-in closet (like Lisa's closet from the Beverly Hills Housewives - she's the British one). Really different than any other optical shops I've been to. They have pink/magenta chairs! They carry a variety of frames for both regular glasses and sunglasses. I must have tried on more than 20 pairs of sunglasses before finally deciding on one! Kelly, the receptionist, was so helpful along with the doctor who personally helped me choose the right pair. They were so nice and honest with their opinions. In the end, I left with a great pair of Tom Ford sunglasses. And the best part? NO TAX!! What you see is what you pay. Awesome! They have a 'self-serve' Keurig coffee station and bottles of water for you. And if you check-in, you get a free peppermint chapstick. read more

This was my first time at this business. I was very pleased with my experience. With my work schedule I'm unable to make weekdays. Dr. Asano was accommodating with my schedule. I made am appointment for Saturday morning. It was just Dr. Asano in the office, she came in just for me since doesn't have many weekend appointments. She was very friendly and helpful. I am needing new glasses and after the appointment she helped me try on pairs and gave feedback for ~30minutes. The boutique itself is cute, modern and chic. The office is in a great location in the West Loop, after my Saturday morning appointment I met with some friends at Little Goat nearby for brunch. Holy schmoly these folks are amazing! I never needed glasses until recently (just another fun thing about getting older I guess), so I don't know my way around eye exams. My parents were of the "no issues, why get an exam" approach, and I never went out of my way to get it done as an adult. I went by myself, got a new scrip for work glasses (years of working on laptops, along with age takes its toll). They helped me pick out frames, and just made the entire experience fun. Lovely people! I even booked an appointment for my hubby while I was there, and warned them he's a toughie, since he's had the opposite history - he has gone for exams and glasses since he was little, and hates, hates, hates the whole experience. Even a toughie like him was won over immediately! They helped him pick a fabulous pair of frames, he gets compliments all the time on them! He also commented on how so many things were explained to him that no one has taken the time to do before. Am going back as soon as insurance allows a 2nd pair. I called for an emergency appointment as soon as I noticed something felt wrong with my eye. The receptionist was extremely nice and they saw me that morning before I had to go to work. The office is clean and Dr Asano is very nice and knowledgable. She diagnosed my eye and gave me a prescription and I was in my way. I woke up the next day with excruciating pain and couldn't be anywhere near light. I called them again and explained and she said to come back in to double check it. She told me I came in at first detection and the infection had gotten worse despite using the antibiotic drops she prescribed. She gave me a numbing drop and prescribed a stronger eye ointment for at night but assured me it was not serious and I would be fine. I fully healed after a week and was very grateful for her attentiveness and care. I would come back here again for any eye issues. read more

Love this place! If you drive, they have 1 parking spot right out front for their practice. Dr Asano and her staff are excellent. I get eye exams once a year for contacts. My prescription hasn't changed in years. She was able to do an exam with my toddler sitting on my lap and explained to me what was going on with my eyes in a manner that I could understand. I see that I'm the first to post a review here so I feel special. I'm a previous patient of Dr. Asano and am happy to have found her again at her new office. I've seen her for a few years and was sad when I found out she left where she was previously at. While this office isn't as close to work for me, I'm a creature of habit, didn't want to change optometrists, and luckily her office is right off the Morgan Green Line stop. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's close to The Aviary, Next, and Publican. Upon arriving, I was greeted right away and asked if I wanted coffee or water. Thought that was pretty nice.
