This Target is the worst! Customer service is bad. I came to the guy to ask where I can find some stuff, and he just gave me a look that kind of should not ask him! As well as, if you have a car, that will be a mission to park your car over there. This Target does not have a parking lot, you have to drive around and search for a place! It takes a lot of time! If you have other options, go there! read more

Target - Department Stores Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

The prices at this Target are much higher than in other locations and on the website. since I work in Fenway area, I used to go to this location a lot but then I realized that almost all the items are 1-2 dollars higher than others AND in general in recent years the prices at target have gone up dramatically!! Especially the beauty items are much more expensive than Amazon or Walmart. Today I picked 2 Sally Hansen nail polishes which were marked as 4.99 and when I went to the self-checkout and scanned them, one was 7.88 and the other was 8.5!!!! I couldn't believe that. I tried to find someone to ask them for the reason and everybody working there is very unfriendly and unhelpful. I have never had a productive or pleasant interaction with their customer service. I try to avoid going to this target but sometimes I have to! the 2 star is just for the location! read more

Store selection is fine. Customer service is nonexistent. I Purchased a shirt recently that was on clearance. I returned the next day after realizing that the shirt did not fit. The gentleman at Customer Service claimed that the item showed that it was no longer in circulation. I asked him how a shirt that is no longer in circulation could be sold and he would not allow me to return the said item. When I asked to speak to his manager he became increasingly agitated. They would offer no other avenue for me to return the item. He stated, 'do you want me to call a manager to tell you the same thing that I just said' I will never shop here again. In fact I don't think I will ever patronize any additional Targets based on the behavior that I witnessed here. I'd rather spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere. I've shopped at target for many years and have been a card bearing member for a long time. This experience has made me reconsider my relationship with the brand. If I wanted to deal with rude and unhelpful I'd go to Walmart and maybe I should. read more

I think this is definitely as good as it gets now that I live in another city with a lousy Target in terms of service and availability of products. I only wish Target was around when I was a student. This three level store (the upper two floors have the Starbucks, eye store, and the items for sale) was a revelation. Huge windows let in light and views of the changing Fenway area while the wide aisles allowed for ease in navigation and browsing. I ended up purchasing necessities in comfort and was amazed at how many different items they stocked. read more

I went to this Target location for the first time. It is located near Fenway and they are multiple parking garages nearby. There are two floors and a ground level (to the street) and a Starbucks located inside. I found this location very clean and they had every product stocked which I found pretty impressive since it Christmas time. I found the employees very helpful and the prices quite affordable. They have a wide selections of goods (clothes, groceries, home goods, appliances, etc) I didn't have to wait long to check out and the staff there is very friendly. I would definitely come here again and recommend to others. read more

The Fenway neighborhood is so lucky to have this Target store. I live in the West End and make the trek over several times a year. Like most Target stores, this location is impeccably clean and welcoming. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding the layout of the store. Solution: pull up the Target app and search for what you are looking for. The app will tell you if they have the item and what isle the item is located in. This is a big help. Target offers home delivery (I have not taken advantage of yet) but great if you buy alot or heavy items. One review mentions higher prices than other locations - I have not found that - maybe on some products, but I usually look up items on target.com and the store always has the same prices. I also have not found it difficult or a lengthy process to buy alcohol - being near several colleges, Target has to protect themselves, so they should be looking at licenses - even if it is multiple times. read more

Huge target with everything. The store it's self is overwhelmingly large and the staff we encountered were all so friendly and helpful. HOWEVER, I want to include the parking situation as well. It is not owned and operated by Target, however, they do have a deal with Van Ness Parking garage. It's advertised as discounted parking with purchases at Target. So, we went into Target, dropped a decent amount of money (over $100) and went to lunch. Came back to the garage and found we had issues with the discount chit from Target. Went back to the store, they gave us a new one, it still didn't work. We went to the parking garage personnel to discover the Target discount is ONLY VALID for TWO HOURS OR LESS. Soooooooo we blew another 32 freaking dollars on parking. As the woman at Target's customer service counter said, "OUCH". The garage / Target need to make the rules more obviously stated. Perhaps they do and we missed that detail or are just thick, but that would be appreciated if we knew that. So, big thumbs up for Target and a HUGE THUMBS down for the parking garage with whom Target does business. read more

On the plus side, it is a Target and has a large selection of items. The downside is the number of items which are priced higher in store than compared to their own website Target.com. This forces you to check out with customer service to have them adjust the price for you. The even bigger downside is that it is their policy that they can't price adjust more than one item for you. I was offered the suggestion by a customer service associate that I should buy online for store pickup. So much for impulse buying while walking the store. The bigger problem is that you don't realize you're getting overcharged unless you happen to check when you're in the store. Having to then buy online for store pickup and wait a couple hours for someone to go pick your order is a rather poor alternative to making sure you aren't spending more than you should. read more

You can get wine and craft beer for cheap. Several dollars less than an average liquor store. Well worth it in the alcohol department. Otherwise, huge store. At times, out of stock, empty shelves, or just don't have what you're looking for. They definitely cater to the student crowd. See first paragraph. read more

This was not around when I was a student at BU, but I've come full circle and have a job that's in the Fenway area and I couldn't be happier. My wallet is definitely not happy because I do tend to be an impulsive shopper but this is convenient to have around. I can only comment on the cosmetics, decor, and office supplies sections as those are the only sections I tend to buy things from. As I've stated this city target is in a very convenient location. When I've gone, which is always on weekdays I've never found it to be crowded. I can always browse the aisles without feeling like someone is hovering right next to me. I've also found it to be very clean and tidy, I don't see things on the floor or the stocks a mess. For the makeup/personal care section, it's pretty big and they have all of the brands that I look for. They also have a lot of cute things in the $1 section and in the office supplies; I've gotten a lot of items to spruce up my office space. The checkout lines were never crowded when I've gone, it's always quick for me to go in and out when I go. I've also used the buy online and pick up in-store function and this target tends to have the things in stock that I'm looking for. Highly recommend if you're in the area and need to pick something up. read more

I'm honestly shocked I always find what I need here. You can go in for the most random thing -- a new wallet to give as a gift to your boyfriends dad -- and you'll find it. Just because it's mini doesn't mean it's low stocked. read more

Was super excited when I saw that City Target was opening in Fenway. I've made several Target runs now at this establishment, and it has been great each time. I used to be a regular at the Watertown Target, and there are usually long lines with families and their multiple large item purchases. At this City Target, I found that the lines are not long at all, and it's convenient that customers don't purchase too many items at once. 5 stars because this City Target has a liquor license. You can find beer, wine, and liquor on their 2nd floor. Only drawback is parking. You get a $5 discount parking at the parking structure if you spend over $30 or $35 (somewhere around there). If I'm driving to this City Target, I try to go after 8PM so there is free meter parking available in the area and fewer people around the area. read more

I almost felt bad for interrupting two employees having a convo in the fitting room area. When acknowledged she asked how many and nodded her head towards the rooms. I tried on what I needed to and came back to give an item I didn't want. The ladies that are still talking looked irritated. Went to checkout and was having problems. No one wanted to help it seemed and when I looked around another couple of employees were chatting and again I was a burden. One of them came over and rolled her eyes at me. I then go to the restroom and as I come out and pass the Starbucks counter, there is another counter with two employees chatting and though I didn't need or want anything the girl gave me the dirtiest look. I thought this was a store to shop at and relax, not a place where if I ask for anything than clearly I'm a terrible human being. Thanks so much for a great first experience..... Not...... read more

Do not shop at the Boylston St.,Boston Target store. If you do not spend $30.00, you will pay a steep parking fee. When complaining to corporate which does not have a secure website and to the store 4 times, and finally speaking to the Asst. store manager, Danielle, she said since I paid cash she cannot refund my money. Can you imagine, paying cash puts you at a disadvantage. She told me to call the parking garage. It is not their problem. It is Target's This is not customer service. This is defensive posturing by Target. It is not worth shopping there. Other stores in the area, provide parking with validated no charge parking. Target may love to advertise as upscale but they are not a customer service oriented company. They are low scale in my book. read more

Today at Target they did not have a single cashiers lane open; it was self-checkout only. I went through that line only to find that I couldn't purchase the two bottles of wine there. No one at Customer Service either. Oh, and the self-checkout didn't process the sale on the coffee, and since no one was at Customer Service, I overpaid for that AND will have to go to another store for the wine. They were out of several other items I needed as well, and no one could help me find anything because the employees generally don't speak English. It will be a long while before I return to this dismally managed store. read more

I don't think I've ever been to a Target this nice before. It's two HUGE floors of shopping. Being right in the Fenway area, this place is going to be a godsend for students attending Boston University/Wentworth/Northeastern/Berklee College alike. Truly has everything you'd need/want for moving into a new place. They have a section on the second floor called "College". Now that's what I call catering to a niche market! They even have a parking garage, Starbucks, optical shop, clean public bathrooms, grocery section, and pharmacy. It also seems like it has created a lot of new jobs for locals, which is always a big + to me. Employees are friendly and easy to spot (I'd recommend not wearing a red shirt here). I think this place was a much needed and overdue addition to Boston. Smart move Target. read more

Nothing special about this Targét other than perhaps the location (GIANT and plenty of food options right next door)

This target is still fresh and new, a huge asset to all the local schools in the area. Their food and grocery area upstairs is pretty big and well stocked for all your needs. All the employees are generally helpful and approachable. Just look for a red shirt (and if you don't work there and wear a red shirt to target and get asked a question, well that's on you). I also like the area behind the Starbucks because of the multitude for benches, desks, and outlets. Great studying/working area that's behind a large wall for a degree of separation from the retail atmosphere. Plus they have free wifi! Yes parking can be a pain, but it's a City target for a reason. They carry merchandise geared towards the college and young professional crowd who live by and utilize the T; they are able to bring things home via public transportation. If your gripe is with the overpriced parking garage maintained, managed and owned by a separate company...lolol omg wait expensive parking in Boston?! Whaaaat??? Seriously. Go to south Shore plaza then, where you can park in their large lot for free. Yes your car might get broken into, but at least it's free right?? To all the people complaining about how they don't accept out of state IDs for alcohol...it's regulated by the state, not the company itself so divert your angst appropriately. It's a probationary process for establishments with new liquor licenses. Welcome to the Commonwealth. However since the probationary period has now passed, you'll be happy to hear: ***THEY NOW ACCEPT OUT OF STATE IDs*** You're welcome, happy booze shopping! read more

I go to this Target all the time but BEWARE because the prices here are so much higher than other Targets and on the website. As a result, I have to scan each item separately through the Target app to make sure I am paying the lowest price. Then, I have to remember which items are marked slightly higher so I can get a price match. You can only get a price match at the Customer Service/Information desk, which is frustrating. Also, it's been two weeks since everyone moved in for September but the shelves haven't been restocked yet. I have to order it through the Target app instead and have it shipped to me. All in all, my BIGGEST TIP is to scan all items using the Target app and then go to the Customer Service desk for a price match. read more

UGGHHHGHGHGHGHGHGHG I was so excited to have something close by and I'm a big fan of the "ship to store" function on Target's website, but this place had some seriously incompetent staff operating customer service. If you do Store Pick-up, don't expect it to be an efficient process. read more

I must say putting a Target right in Boston where all these college students live was a genius idea. I went here with some friends to pick up some prizes for a raffle event we were having and I was amazed at how big this target was on the inside and just how many floors there are! However, it doesn't take a genius to know how much more expensive their stuff is compared to other places a little outside the city, but for the convenience, it's a great location for college students. I personally wouldn't come here since I have a car and can always to drive out a little further to get the same stuff for a better price, but I suppose not everyone has that luxury. I must say my highlight of the store is the shopping cart escalator...it never gets old :) read more

This is a great store layout, and I'm grateful for have a neighborhood Target. But this particular store location has MAJOR inventory/organization issues! They have been out of stock of almost all yogurt brands for a week now, and this is the current state of the shoe section (photo attached). It's not uncommon to see the store completely emptied out at college move-in time as well as the holidays (the biggest times of the year for this location...plan ahead, people!) Given the generally apathetic attitudes from staff, I guess this shouldn't surprise me. read more

It's a Target. Why do I give it four stars? Because it has Noosa yogurt. And not just the Raspberry Noosa that is carried by whole foods, but the Lemon, Blueberry, Tart Cherry, all the other flavors of Noosa. If you've not tried Noosa yet, give it a shot. Plus, this place is open until midnight, making it a perfect place to make a Noosa run following a rehearsal dinner at Sweet Cheeks the night before our friend's wedding. True story. read more

Huge, clean, and not too difficult to get to if you don't have a car. If you do plan on driving here, $30 purchase will validate your parking at a garage steps away to $5 for the first hour. Stocking/organization seems to be a bit of an issue here still, but I think this will get better with time. I don't really seek out Target stores, but it does happen to be the only American retailer that stocks a Korean cosmetics brand that I like. I like how they have beer and wine here (though Shaws across the street does too). Checkout is very efficient, and there is a Starbucks inside the store. read more

FINALLY BOSTON GETS TO EXPERIENCE THE AMAZING-ness of TARGET... Well a city target... PROS: + it's 3 stories high & this target offers a lot of this that college students will need (I.e., twin XL bedding, lots of school supplies,...etc) + they also have an awesome Starbucks inside CONS: - in order to by alcohol you have to have a MA LICENSE... However according to a previous review they do accept out of state IDs... But I was there 2 weeks ago and they didn't accept mine... - pretty pricey - lines get pretty long... People need to learn to use self-checkout for smaller items... read more

I never thought I'd write a review for a big chain. After all, this is your typical City Target. You can find most of the things you need here. Some of the prices are higher than you'd find at normal Targets or even compared to their online prices, but I guess you're paying for convenience. They do a good job of price matching though (they'll price match their website pretty easily). The reason I'm leaving a review (I hope other Yelpers will find this useful) is because I went to Target for the sole purpose of buying some beer. I've purchased alcohol here a few times in the past (as recently as last week). However, I was denied by the lady at the register who told me that I need to have either a passport or a Massachusetts license in order to purchase alcohol at this particular Target. Apparently, they were recently fined for verifying age using out-of-state licenses because their specific liquor license only allows them to be able card using Massachusetts licenses or passports. Talk about a lousy liquor license. Target fail. read more

Honestly. My experience was fine. Staff was helpful on the sales floor. But when I went to check out the cashier had the worst attitude. He didn't even speak to me at all. He was mute. So I proceeded to refold everything I bought. He didn't even say the total price. Stayed mute the whole time with a stank face. This is an awful place to shop. I visited the store yesterday, and the whole place was in disarray. There were trolleys everywhere, huge boxes everywhere and it was a nightmare trying to find what I needed. I came in to pick up 4 items, one of which was bulky, so I needed a shopping trolley. It took me almost 2 hours to navigate through the great magnitude of disorder, before finally picking up everything I needed. Almost 2 hours for 4 items is ridiculous. I've never spent that long in any Walmart, even when the store is packed to the brim. By the time I was done, I had just about had enough and just wanted to get out of there ASAP! The cashier scanning the items was so bleeding slow! The folks in front of me had 7-10 items and this lady had me and other people behind me standing for 6-10 minutes. I don't understand how in the world she managed to scan so slowly. She was scanning shirts and notebooks and it should not have taken this long. It gets to my turn and she scans my things and I am just ready to run out of there. I've had it! She scans and says $80+ and I give her the money just to get out. I get to my car and look at my receipt, only to find out that one of the items I got seemed to have been overcharged. I'm absolutely irritated at this moment. I power-walk back into the store and head to the same cashier, informing her that she overcharged one of my items. Me: "Excuse me, you overcharged this *item*". Cashier: "NO, I DIDN'T!". After my experience navigating through this rubbish bin of a store, that was NOT the tone I wanted to receive! I looked at her and said: "This is crazy, just give me my...", before I even got to finish my sentence, this lady raises her voice saying, "NO, IT'S NOT! NO, IT'S NOT!". I'm thinking to myself, what is she talking about? Then I figured, she was actually responding to my non-question remark, "This is crazy". I put my hand on my head, just trying my best to stay calm and asked her to give me my money back. She said, "Go over to the guest desk then!". I finally get my money back from the guest desk, but never again. If the store was in such a disorderly state, the least the cashiers could have done, would have been to have been a little nicer to their customers to compensate for the state of the store! read more

My husband and I were vacationing in Boston this past April, and stayed near by. We were at a walking distance, and needed to grab a few things for the Airbnb we were staying at. All in all, Target met our needs in the alcohol and food dept. Thanks to signage posted EVERYWHERE in the alcohol dept, we were aware that we could only go to certain registers for buying alcohol. There was a LONG LINE and they card you twice. Also, make sure to go during a time of day that a Boston Red Sox game is not going on. read more

I like Target. This one is huge (two floors). Let me preface this review by saying that Brandon K's original review on 7/9 should be invalid - the store wasn't even open at that point. Dude just wants to be the first review - he also wrote one for a Wegmans in Westwood not slated to open until later this year. I didn't notice any huge pricing differences from other Targets in the area; this location isn't too expensive compared to other locations. Customer service so far has been nothing but friendly. I made the mistake of trying to use a mobile coupon in self-checkout. When I asked a manager for assistance, he directed me to another line and gave me $5 off my purchase (in addition to the mobile coupon). I know this is because the location is new, but City Target is extremely clean and organized. Some of the other targets I've been to are very run-down and filthy. I'm glad I have easy access to Target now and don't have to rely on someone to take me there. read more
