I've lived in a 15 minute radius of this Gap my whole life and yesterday was my first time ever going in. I've walked by 100 times - it's got a prime location in Harvard square - but my friend wanted to look around so I went in with her. This gap is HUGE. Two floors, one of the largest selections of clothes, and one of the larger sale sections I've seen at Gap in a minuteeee. I meant to write this review a few weeks ago, but I visited this Gap location from out of town and was impressed to say the least on how visually pleasing the store looked. The layout was organized, cohesive and felt very high end. The store was clean and spacious. The customer service was also amazing. My friend and I had this one nice lady help us, I believe her name was Stephanie. She was so friendly and helpful. She made this shopping experience 11/10. So bummed we don't live closer to this Gap. read more

Yee is a terrible employer. I overheard her talking to another associate that she had a friend who gave her the social security number and whenever they are low for the month she could process credit card applications without the people being present. Then Yee asked me and kept pushing me to open the card. I kept saying no, and she kept going. I am an employee at another store and kept requesting that she used my employee discount. She kept pushing the card on me and wouldn't back off even with my discount. I told her to stop and to overhear that conversation she had with a shorter brown skin girl was terrifying knowing what she does secretly. I hope she gets fired it's super fishy. I love dropping into this Gap everytime I am visiting Cambridge because I always score something amazing. This time was not exception. I was mainly just hunting for some super short black socks and immediately for a three pack...and then I spotted THE SALE RACK! Piles at 50% off. Hell yes... I found an awesome black shirt for under $15 and then I saw the sequins...WHA??? Sure enough someone had just returned a black sequin skirt (the quality sequins, not cheaply made) pencil long skirt which was originally $98 and it was now $4.95...I am not joking.... The staff here is what sets this store apart from the rest. As a national, ubiquitous brand, the customer experience is bound to vary from location to location. I'm really impressed by the friendliness of everyone who works here but beyond that, their ability to help me find what I'm looking for. There are two floors. Downstairs seems to be more of the daily wear and professional attire. Upstairs you've got the kids section and the exercise clothes, plus the underwear/pj section. I've recently decided that Gap has great underwear. So much more comfortable than other brands I've bought in the past! I stopped by recently for some pjs for my son- and ok, their kids section wasn't staffed and I probably have used more help there- but Jeff was so great in helping me check out, understand all of the sales going on and how to maximize my savings. While I still had to return an item a few days later, he remembered my name and made sure I was happy with my purchase. If you're going to shop for clothes in person instead of online, I think the sales reps should be a big part of the encounter. I'd recommend this location. read more

Although I've been to this Gap before, I haven't had a desire to review it til now. I mainly just want to tell a story, isn't that what 50% of yelp reviews do? So I was returning a shirt that didn't fit. The sales woman asked if I had washed it. I told her I hadn't. She said, "Are you sure?" and then SNIFFED it! Not just a subtle sniff, she literally put her face in the shirt and sniffed the inner cloth tag. She said accusingly that it smelled like laundry detergent. I was thinking, well aren't you glad it doesn't smell bad!? She let me return it anyways and I had a good laugh. read more

This Gap location is multilevel with men's on the first floor and women's on the second floor. This location used to have Gap Body, and they changed it to Gap Kids. I wish they would have left Gap Body. I find this store to be busy and often messy and unorganized. The staff do a good job trying to organize it all, but it somehow seems messy soon after. I have had no problem finding items and the staff are very helpful. This store has a fairly big clearance section, so I can usually find good deals!! read more

This store sticks out like a sore thumb in Harvard Square... it's probably the only "big box" store around (they seem to disappear fast around here... *ahem* Abercrombie + Fitch). It's not as good as some of the other GAPs I've been to, but I like how it has all of the different "Gap"s all under one roof - women, men, baby, kids, and body. It is usually a little disheveled, especially when there's a sale going on, but I rarely walk out of here empty-handed. Sign up on their website for their emails and text messaging. You'll be the first to know when they have sales and promotions. You should NEVER pay for anything full-price at Gap... things go on sale relatively quickly, and there is always stock left (at least in my experience). Also, if you are a Gap cardholder, every Tuesday is 10% Tuesday -- 10% off your total purchase. You just have to use your Gap card. read more

I like this Gap location. Their jean selection and I don't get along, but I won't hold that against them. I can always find something warm and snuggly to wear when I shop here. The customer service is just right. I put a lot of stock in not being hounded or ignored - it's a fine line, but they walk it well. Their hours are a bit annoying, but I guess I could make it before 7:30p. I like their selection more than Urban Outfitters across the street. Have to give a pleasantly surprised shout out to this location: I came for the post-Christmas sale (additional 60% of off sale items, 30% off of most regularly priced items), which at many Gap stores means a practically post-apocalyptic level of mess, interminable lines for the fitting rooms, surly cashiers, etc. None of the above here! I got some great deals without any chaos. The clothes on display were neatly folded, there weren't any clothes strewn around the fitting rooms, and I could easily find the sizes I needed. Everyone working at this store is doing a greet job! The employees I interacted with were friendly and didn't try to make me sign up for a Gap card. Also, apparently (according to a sticker on the dressing room mirror) they offer bra fittings. I kind of understand the complaints about a chain store in Harvard Square, but I dunno, take it up with capitalism, I guess. read more

I hadn't been to a Gap in a few years when I decided to try this location a few months ago. How disappointing. For all Gap's striving to course-correct, this place show's they're still lacking. The presentation was haphazard and the merchandise needed pressing. It wasn't just a matter of wrinkles, many items had deep creases from shipping. The store itself was dusty and dingy. There was plenty of open space but the layout left it feeling empty rather than airy. I have't been back and will probably try reviving my hopes for the brand at a different location. read more

The staff at Gap in Harvard Square are not only the friendliest and most helpful folks I have met at any Gap store but at any retailer I've shopped at. I have returned to this specific locations several times and have had an equally great customer experience each time. In one instance, I needed to exchange a shirt size that was no longer available in store and a staff member patiently called all locations in Boston for me with no luck and ended up ordering the shirt for me over the phone so that I could get the in-store reduced price instead of the online price. For another occasion, I was looking for a certain shirt and color and more than one staff member (having overhead the conversation), offered multiple suggestions of a similar shirt I was looking for. The staff is never pushy to sell products but is extremely helpful when you need them! read more

This Gap is always dirty! Messy, disorganized, low on stock except for size 12 (not sure why that size), and downright dirty. It's like the Market Basket of Gaps. The people who work here always look busy doing something (too busy to help look for a size or different color), but it's clearly not getting the place in order. My theory is that it's a training shock-and-awe for people going to work at normal Gaps. read more

Nothing to compliment or complain about. Clothes are folded so you can find what you are looking for. This location is nothing special, its only selling point is its convenient location. Staff are fine and I have never seen it particularly busy. This makes it relatively easy to get some help and also easy to shop without large numbers of people underfoot. Store is dirty and unorganized. Store manager was rude while looking for jeans for my wife. Both manager and employee were very slow to help us, seemed uniformed, and uninterested. A simple return and online order took way too long. I have worked retail for many years - including for the Gap and this customer service was unacceptable. This type of experience is common for this location and I tried to looked passed it - however now I will never go back to this store. read more

I had good experience here returning stuff, contrary to some of the previous reviews. I think the one who handled my case was steve...I can't remember his name but he was very friendly and efficient in helping customers and did not give me any hard time at all. read more
