3 Stars for so-so customer service, limited selections, and an non-intuitive way of handling fitting rooms... I was in Boston recently and decided to hit up Reformation since I'd only ever shopped from them online and never had a chance to go to a store and actually try the clothes on ahead of making a purchase. There were a few dresses online that I had my eye on, and I was excited to try them on. As I entered I felt a bit like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. There weren't many customers in the shop (weekday), but I felt totally lost because it looked like they only had one of each item on the racks. (Side-note: the tiniest sizes, of course.) I looked totally bewildered, but no one working there came up to me, they were huddled around the check-out counter chatting and occasionally looking over at me. Eventually, I approached them and asked them the process to try things on since there was only one size of each item. One of them glanced over my shoulder at the screen on the wall and said I just pick out the item on the screen and request my size and someone would pull the item from the back and start a fitting room. I've never experienced this process at a store before, and am down for innovation, but there were no smiles, no signs explaining the process, nothing that felt inclusive or friendly at all. Besides that, they only seemed to have the most recent collection, and were missing tried and true staple dresses that are popular on the website. Ultimately, I tried on one dress in a couple of sizes and left without anything. The experience was pretty uncomfortable and uninviting, so it is extremely unlikely I'll return. As I entered the Reformation store, I was not greeted by the staff members despite making eye contact with one of the employees. I noticed the store has an innovative approach since they use these interactive TVs where customers can select the clothing pieces they are interested in. This is helpful considering there were limited clothes on display and the TV was quite easy to use. However, the fitting rooms were very innovative and memorable since other stores have not implemented this model into their operations. At the end of my experience, I was unable to purchase some products since the price range was quite high. read more

Popped into Reformatjon this afternoon in hopes of finding a couple rehearsal dinner/wedding party dresses. The staff were incredibly helpful, friendly and an absolute delight. The three of them carefully discussed and chose a handful of relevant dresses for me to try on (I purchased 2!). They also humored me and soothed my paranoia of spilling on my newly purchased dresses by throwing in a tide pen to go! The three of them certainly enhanced my shopping experience - thanks ladies! read more

Stopped to check out reformation on Newbury. We went around 2pm on a Saturday and it was fairly busy. When you enter there are a few racks that hold one of each item, these aren't really meant for you to shop just to look at and get a sense of the items. Then we headed over to the tv screens where you can find the products you liked and choose a size and then send them to the fitting room. It was saying a 76 minute wait time but we only had to wait a few minutes before they called our names. Then all the items I had asked to try were waiting for me in my room and it honestly made the shooing experience super easy. The staff was so nice and helpful. The only down side was how expensive it is and that they don't have as many items as they have online. Will definitely be back though because it's a great spot for dresses and staple items. read more

Always packed and difficult to get a room. Nearly every time I've gone to this store they've given away a dressing room to someone who walked in after me/after I've started a room. It's maddening. Customer service could use some work. read more

I love their practices and the company's commitment to sustainability so I was really happy when they finally opened a brick and mortar store in Boston. I've ordered online with them for years - the clothes are not cheap but the quality is worth it. Their styles sell out VERY quickly, online and in store but the employees have always been really friendly and helped me check and see if they have any extra stock. The store gets very busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait to try on clothes (they have about 6 fitting rooms I think?). I only wish that their return policy was a little friendlier for in store purchase (14 days for exchange/store credit only) - but they do offer full refunds for online purchases. I believe they're also a cash-free store so keep that in mind. read more

I bought two items from this store and they did not discuss with me that they accept no returns after 30 days even for store credit. Being unaware of this and being stuck with $400 worth of clothing that does not fit I definitely wouldn't recommend shopping here. read more

i was so disappointed when I walked into the Boston Reformation. I have been to both SF locations and what I love about the store is the feel, the high tech aspect and how welcoming and helpful the staff are. Thats what I expected when I took a stop into the Newbury street store. I didn't get that at all. First of all, I will say they have a larger selection of apparel than the SF stores. But I wasn't ever greeted when walking in. There are no IPads anywhere in the store, even the dressing rooms. The curtains don't close all the way so you're left wondering if someone will walk in or accidentally see you changing. I was also told the only sizes they had were on the floor so that also threw me off. The staff weren't welcoming or friendly to me so I ended up leaving without anything. I was so upset that this was my experience as I love Reformation as a company. I really wish there was the high-tech aspect of the store in Boston read more

I usually buy reformation clothes online, but this is the first store I've been to. Clothes are cute and flattering but run small. They are usually 100% viscose so can feel a little scratchy but they are supposedly better for the environment. Light colors can be sheer. Store is nice and airy. There are usually only a few people in the store at any given time. Sometimes there's a security guard at the front which makes me a little uncomfortable. Fitting room curtains do have gaps at the ends. There are about 3 fitting rooms. Staff tend to not say hello or greet me, but I personally like it that way. Each style of dresses has usually a few sizes but can be random in terms of what's available. The in store selection is not very big but it's nice to feel the fabrics or see the colors-- then you can check out their online store for other colors and sizes. Price range between $50 for simpler tops to ~$300 for fancier dresses. Be careful about garment care. Even if I hand wash with delicate soap, the clothes tend to shrink. read more

Wonderful store with warm service. The women here are so sweet and attentive to your needs. The store is spacious and has a variety of clothing. Dresses are beautiful and most of the options are stocked up in size. If your size is unavailable, any of the staff will offer to check online for you. The dressing rooms are with a full length mirror with a lot of light. The drapes can be shut with velcro stuck onto the curtain and the wall! read more
