Okay, so I recently came back from Europe & while being there, I of course visited their Flagship Rue Cambon & a couple of other locations, searching for the perfect CC earrings. Today, we were strolling around Newbury St, did a bit of shopping, figured why not stop in. Upon entering, we were kindly greeted and SA Thomas helped me find the most perfect earrings!! In Europe, they had more for options BUT did not have any of the styles I wanted. I was able to find THE PAIR in less than 10 minutes, really!! I haven't been to this location in a long time now, last time was in for a medium flap. This location has a pretty good selection, in general. Highly recommend ! read more

I am a bit surprised that there are so many negative reviews. I love Chanel, and being in any of their boutiques is thrilling for me, so I think I get somewhat lost in the excitement of it all and don't realize how poor the service is, but one memory definitely sticks out for me and I think upon closer examination, it could be considered a poor Sales Advisor interaction. I was there in the Boston Boutique one day looking at clutches, all of a sudden there was this flurry of activity all around. Sales Advisors were shifting positions, commands were being yelled out, and suddenly this extraordinarily plain looking woman appeared seemingly out of nowhere. I am guessing that this woman was a Chanel frequent flyer because they were abuzz with excitement. I commented to the Advisor who was assisting me how amusing it was to watch them all drop what they were doing to attend to her, and she asked me if it bothered me. LOL. Actually, no ma'am. Thankfully, I don't need a small army of Chanel Sales Advisors catering to my every whim. In fact, I find the over-the-top attentiveness to be comical. Lots of friends and loved ones prefer Chanel. Always clean, always accommodating as many of the high end fashion houses are but Chanel is probably one of the better ones. The lady was looking for some earrings that she wasn't able to snag whilst on a Euro trip. They had the exact pair she was looking for. While awaiting the bathrooms are super clean and you can go upstairs by security to use it. Also has beverages etc while you wait for everything to be prepared and boxed. I'm glad I see so many negative reviews because I completely agree with every single one of them. I have never experienced a group of such snotty, unwelcoming workers. The second an associate approached me, she pointedly looked at what I was wearing and acted like she couldn't be bothered to help me. She would disappear and reappear randomly and had the worst attitude when I asked to try something on. It was so bad I decided to leave behind the purse I was going to get and come back another day to get a different associate. When I came back the following day, the second worker was better, but only fractionally. Vivian and Fiona made my experience at this Chanel boutique absolutely incredible! I had purchased a WOC in Paris (my first Chanel) and after coming home, realized there was an issue with the placement of the logo hardware. I came to the Boston boutique with the bag unsure and nervous about what my options would be since I had purchased outside the US. Right away, Vivian eased my concerns by letting me know that an exchange would be no problem at all AND they had my exact bag in stock. She showed me the 2 bags they had in stock and was extremely patient and kind as I spent time deciding which bag to take. Fiona then stepped in to assist with packaging the bag and setting up my new warranty and also couldn't have been kinder! I am so grateful for the exchange as I absolutely love my new bag now. Had it not been for the wonderful service from Fiona and Vivian I likely would have left the store feeling uncertain of my final choice, but they made my experience so easy and enjoyable. They were also quick to answer a couple of follow up questions I had via text on the warranty, etc. after leaving the store. we received the worst customer service of our entire life at this location on thursday! their security guard, an african american man, followed us around the store the whole time as if we were going to steal! no one would help us and simply looked at us up and down. my friend ended up spending about 1k there for her daughter, but what we wanted was to buy a bag! decided not to because of the way we were treated. we went next door to van cleef and arpels which was the complete opposite., loved their service and spent 20k in their beautiful timeless pieces. will not be back to this location ever! read more

Felt compelled to write a bad review for this place. Let's face it-- Chanel is not what it was. The quality has gone down hill and even worse the customer service. I bought a pair of slides that were about 1k. After wearing them for maybe 1.5 hours tops to walk around on a grassy surface the sole started coming unglued. I came into the store the following day-- today, and was met by Sarah, one of the managers. The woman needs some etiquette lessons-- she had the audacity to question how often they were worn. Which by the way is besides the point, Sarah-- at that price point it shouldn't be falling apart after even a year of constant wear! If I'm telling you I wore them once and for a very short period of time then you go with that, offer me a fix, apologize for the lack of craftsmanship and keep it moving. I brought in a handbag that had been damaged by improper storage hoping the store could assist me with restoring my purse. Before making the trip to the boutique, I had first called customer service to confirm that the store could handle my issue. I was greeted by a young associate who barely looked at the handbag to assess and simply shrugged by saying there was nothing she could do. So when I asked what she would recommend to address the damage, can you believe that her response was to store the bag properly? I was a bit taken aback. I asked again for her recommendation to address the specific damage my bag had already sustained and that is when she speculated...a good shoe cobbler? Normally I wouldn't bother with a review for a shop like Chanel but I feel like they have an unfair reputation on sites like Yelp! This particular store is great because of their employees, especially our go to associate, Maria Hernaez. If you're serious about buying a Chanel bag then there's no better place to go than the Newbury location, it was recently renovated and is one of the largest in the US. The key to an enjoyable shopping experience in a boutique like this is finding the right Sales Associate or Fashion Advisor to help you, luckily this location has several experienced and delightful employees there to help. Everyone seems nice but I highly recommend Maria Hernaez because she was extremely helpful and won us over by going above and beyond service wise while always maintaining a professional and passionate demeanor. I'm still young and dress very comfortably when I shop (sweats etc.) so I've had snobby service at other stores but Maria made us feel like VIP's as soon as we met, she truly cares for her customers and exemplifies what a high end shopping experience should be. A lot of people can find luxury boutiques intimidating with an air of pretentious but out of all the Chanel stores I've entered the Newbury location is easily the most welcoming, very little judgement and exceptional service regardless of how you dress/look. I love going into this store. I am definitely not a person who can buy Chanel clothing , so I just head to their beautiful makeup department! Everyone there, from the doorman to the salespeople has been very friendly to me. I find this very impressive , since I definitely don't look like someone who can buy a lot! I have been very satisfied with the products I have bought there. The ladies at the makeup counter have helped me find products that I enjoy and that really flatter me. Go in and check out the upstairs! It is decorated to look like Coco Chanel's apartment in Paris. I just talked to Tara as the Chanel "repair specialist" as I bought a Chanel tote worth $2300.00. Since the color is off white it has shown a bit of dirt. I asked my SA if they can recommend or do anything. She said to bring it in the store. Then met with Tara. The first sales person who tried to help me pulled out a selection of non-cuff bracelets and when I asked if there was anything else, she said no. So I picked one and decided to wander a bit. I dropped my CF bag off during tax free weekend to repair the loose stitches on left rear gusset and I spoke with repair specialist Chalmer. He was by far, the nicest guy I've ever met in a luxury store. He was very patient, helpful and professional. Today I just got an email from him to let me know that my repair is completed and he even offered to ship it back to my house via FedEx at no cost, so I don't even need to go there to pick it up. I visited the shop yesterday. I wanted a new lip gloss, and I'd been keen on Chanel colors before when I'd had makeup done at Bloomingdale's in Chestnut Hill. I'll admit to being a bit intimidated by coming in, largely because I usually do my shopping on the other end of Newbury Street -- it was like my first time going to Hermès. There is a doorman at the door, who undoubtedly is also serving as security. It only occurred to me after I came in that I should have been wearing something nicer than jeans ... but hey, I was coming to spend money. Not a problem in anyone's eyes but mine, apparently. I asked one of the salesladies who approached (seriously, there were like 4 of them) to direct me to cosmetics. Once I went to that part of the shop, the sales clerk was helping someone else, so I browsed momentarily, and she came to me a moment later. She asked me what I would like, and I told her what I was looking for. She asked me a little bit about what sort of places I wanted to wear the makeup, and what look I normally went for. As soon as I told her, she immediately pulled out five or six possibilities and demonstrated them. After demonstrating, she prepared them for me to try on and gave me as much time as I liked to decide. After a few minutes, I picked one. After choosing, she located it from back stock, asked me how I would like to pay, and went to a register in the back. I was given my change promptly, offered a questionnaire if I wanted to be on the shop's e-mail list, and was sent off with a little bag and the utmost courtesy. I found the entire experience quite pleasant, and no one seemed nonplussed by my presence in any way. Overall, the entire atmosphere wasn't nearly as snobby as I feared, and I feel I got quite a lot of service for spending less than $30. read more
