I was really anxious about visiting the boutique, I read a lot negative reviews, and I was honestly worried about the kind of treatment I might receive. This time I decided to ditch the sneakers despite my foot injury as I wanted to be spoken to / looked at with respect. I walked in and saw that one of the SAs was helping a customer. I overheard her saying something along the lines of "I want you to buy something you're happy and convinced with, don't buy for the sake of buying" WOW! I was impressed! So I wandered for 2 minutes while they wrapped up and then approached her. I complemented her approach with the previous customer and was very honest from the start. I told her I was looking for a treat for myself but didn't know what I wanted. She was extremely helpful, walked around the store, pulled out a few options, and even worked within my budget. She was extremely friendly, and her name was Katelyn Roach / Katelyn Davis (can't remember which is her maiden name). The doormen were also friendly and courteous! Andrea helped me choose my first pair of ballet flats and I had a great experience overall. The sizing could vary slightly because of the different materials, so it was worth visiting the boutique to find a good fit. Andrea was a down-to-earth person, and I enjoyed talking to her. She also patiently answered all my questions about how to take care of the shoes. The shoes were really beautiful, flattering, and well made. Until recently, I've bought lower quality, uncomfortable shoes that would wear out within a year or were so difficult to break in that I would abandon them. So I was determined to keep these flats in decent condition and simply resole as needed so I wouldn't have to keep buying shoes. However, when I got home to try them on again I somehow scratched off a bit of the lambskin leather on the side of one shoe. They were the most expensive shoes I've ever purchased. I cringed because I hadn't even walked outside with them yet. The next morning, I texted Andrea, asking if I could fix it with a recommended shoe polish or cream. To my surprise, she immediately replied, telling me I could come back into the store for her to take a look. Yes, I did feel a little silly going back (it's a small blemish on a shoe after all), but it was worth it, because Andrea made the scuff look much less noticeable using a simple method that I would not have thought to try. I also lost the "geez, are these too delicate to wear?!" feeling after seeing how she made them look fairly new again. Anyway, I found everyone to be very helpful and friendly at Chanel. I stepped in this morning (9/10/19) at 10:30 to buy a perfume (Coromandel, Parfum), and while there were no other customers in the shop, the sales associate in the makeup/fragrance dept couldn't drag herself away from her phone to help me. I stood for some time within 6 feet of her, and she never looked up to acknowledge that I was there. After some time I left. I could have interrupted her "searching", but that's not really my job. I hope the manager of the store reads these posts. read more

By far the worst service and the most obnoxious sales staff I've ever encountered in my life. Rude, snooty and a little racist. Their service Makes you feel like a criminal coming in to spend thousands of dollars. I don't care if it's luxury or not, I just want a normal human interaction with a normal human in Chanel that isn't going to make you feel like shit everyone you walk out. The Chanel store inside the Taj has been moved across the street to its new address! It will be two floors with 4 floors of condos above. The space is more open and has large floor to ceiling windows, which will make the window displays that much better than their old location. It's def much more spacious! I visited the old store right before they moved and had a pleasant experience. I was immediately greeted and helped by a SA and she was very friendly and offered to put me on a waiting list for the bag that I wanted... I know others have had bad experiences here, but maybe they've improved? read more

I had been hunting down a pair of earrings that I saw online. I'm in New York so when they weren't anywhere to be found here, Chanel customer service told me this location had them. Kerry and Tara were so helpful. They sent me pictures and helped me gauge how big they were by included a coin for scale. We went in there to purchase a bag and to do so with a wonderful experience. Our assigned associate was Jeremy. He was AWFUL! First of all, he just looked so unhappy to be there. Secondly, he was so unhelpful almost to the point he was disrespectful. We asked to see a few bags he showed us two, but said most bags were not available. He was going to grab another bag to show us, which he never did, and couldn't get rid of us fast enough. We asked about how to purchase a bag in a different color and he just told us things weren't available. Even though we were saying to him that we wanted to buy something right there and then, he was just so uncooperative and would not provide us with any kind of help. I have shopped at Hermes, Gucci, Versace, Louboutin and more. I have never had any experience like this, dealing with somebody that was just so miserable and unwilling to provide luxury customer service. Naturally, we will never return. The last time I was in a Boston, I took my wife to Chanel in the Taj. The guy who was behind the counter was too busy talking on his cell and was very rude to us. I went there with my wife on our anniversary. When we walk in, We look around for 20 minute and no one wanted to assist us. I finally found a SA and after 5 minute she found Someone else to help us. Now this new SA really have no patient. We ask her to show us few more bag around that size and she didn't want to show us anymore after 3 bag.lol.. This new spot is MUCH better than their old spot inside the Taj. That being said, I was surprised by how cluttered the first floor seemed to be as it doesn't have the clean flow that I'm used to in most Chanel stores. Once you head upstairs you're back to the standard gorgeous minimalist Chanel. I could literally live in the "apartment" of their second floor. Anyway, I don't think anyone asked if I needed help (which is fine... I'd rather browse and drool over my favorite things) but it wasn't an overly snooty feeling. Incredible. The store is one of the most gorgeous retail environments I've ever seen, which must be seen to be believed (the 2nd floor is an oasis of serenity). The service was unbelievable- my fragrance and tie purchases (two different trips, two different associates) were both memorable experiences and I was pleased that a follow up survey was emailed to me that allowed me to reflect back to the management all of their strengths. Absolutely stunning boutique, but then again you can only expect timeless chic at Chanel. Someone always asks if I need help, and sales associates seem to be more than happy to assist you. It is the biggest in New English area.I bought my last Chanel bag and accessory from Thomas. He is really knowledgable about all the Chanel lines. He also made good recommendations. He even found a medium size classic in black Cavier and gold chain for me. During Christmas, I got a sweet Chanel postcard from him. I love shopping at Chanel. I walked in three separate times in hopes of purchasing a Chanel bag. The staff was beyond rude and didn't show any interest in helping me. I asked a few questions and they pretty much shut me down. I can't say it was one individual because I walked in on three separate occasions and dealt with three different associates. I'm not sure if I wasn't dressed for the part of looking like I would buy a Chanel purse and maybe that's why they didn't show interest in me. I have no idea how this store has such great reviews. Sure they had decent inventory (I would hope so, it's two stories) but the customer service was definitely not there. I am so disappointed. They lost my business and so I went to the Chanel in neiman Marcus down the road where I ended up purchasing a bag and giving the commission to someone well deserving. read more

I came here today for a pair of shoes I've been lusting after that were sold out at every other Chanel or department store. I called the Boston boutique up and the seller warned me they may be sold out as well, but transferred me to my SA Chrystal, and she was extremely helpful. She told me they just got a shipment and I could pick them up that very day! I hurried over and she had the shoes ready for me. Every worker, from security to other sales associates, greeted me and made sure I was comfortable. I tried them on and got them on the spot. I was looking for a very specific bag, and my local Neimans had sold out of it. I was sad to not be able to purchase it from my SA, but I wanted this particular bag so much that I couldn't settle for anything else! I first called Chanel to see if any stores had the bag, and sure enough, Boston did. So I contacted the store to see if they did indeed have it. A lovely SA named Mahasti helped me. She was extremely polite, helpful, and gracious. She texted me photos of the bag as well as someone modeling it upon my request. I purchased the bag over the phone, and received it on the second business day. Mahasti made sure I received it on that day, which was very nice. She then texted me a week later to make sure I was happy with my purchase and enjoying my bag. I wish all service could be as wonderful as I experienced with Mahasti at the Chanel in Boston. I shopped in this store a few times and have never been happy with the service. Everyone is pretentious and miserable. I was working with a sales person who was helping me order a ring. I needed to use the restroom. I went upstairs and was stopped by an older woman with short dark hair. She told me that I could not use the restroom because it just went out of service. I asked her why the two girls ahead of me had just gone into the restroom. I went back downstairs and let the salesperson helping me know that I needed to leave the store to find a restroom. She told me that the one upstairs should be working. I did not make a big deal out of this even though I was clearly being disrespected. I decided not to buy my rings in this store but could not help but pick up a new fragrance only available in the boutique. I took the fragrance home and after using it decided that I did not like it. I returned to the shop past the return date ( as I only get into Boston once a month) and was told by the dept manager that opened merchandise was not returnable. I asked her how was I suppose to know that. I would have taken samples rather than purchase a $200 perfume that I did not like the scent of. She said that was just the policy, took my bag to the back room and left me there waiting for quite sometime to be helped while other woman were just walking in front of me for service. In the meantime, while I was waiting to be helped, a young woman brushed by me to go help a man standing over by the handbag counter. That man was my Husband, who was waiting patiently for me to finish!! I couldn't help but laugh. I base this review on not just one visit but many to a boutique that should offer outstanding service to match the merchandise they sell. I don't know what happened here but since they moved locations from across the street the atmosphere and sales help is appalling. Save your time and spend your money elsewhere where they appreciate customers and offer customer service that rivals the price tags of the merch that they sell. read more
