Went there this morning to try on bathing suits--one of my least favorite things to do, amIright? After round 1, i was putting the go-backs back, and a male employee asked a female employee right there about a bathing suit he was trying to locate. She suggested he try the fitting rooms, and he went, "People actually try on bathing suits??" (He may have shuddered.) She comes back with how she thinks it's weird and gross, too, and that's why they have the protective sticker in their crotch and that she suggests ppl try them on over their undies. I'M STANDING RIGHT THERE. Were they trying to tell me something? Tried on round 2 of bathing suits--kept my undies on throughout, if you must know. Ran into both of them to and from the fitting rooms, of course, tried to make eye contact with him especially, to shoot him a big smile and wink...but he didn't meet my gaze. I *think* he realized how dumb his comments were when we found each other outside the fitting rooms, I with nothing but *cringe* bathing suits to try on. Found a couple suits after round 2; their selection is neat, still pretty large, and on sale. To the young blonde-redhead guy and petite brunette gal working this Target's swimsuits on Thursday morning, June 19th--don't fret. You can exhale. I left my undies on. This Target location used to be VERY jacked up because it's an older location & when you 1st walked in you could smell the oldness and for sure see the sagginess..even the parking lot looked suspect! BUT this Target has moved on up & got her a makeover & a new boob job ;) to go along w/ it because now when you walk in gone are the days of oldness & sagginess, instead you feel the excitement of finding those clearance goodies at the end of the end caps, or finding an awesome new pair of shoes that have an additional discount when using your Cartwheel app! :))) Oh, and don't sleep on Targets alcohol selection! Nothing spectacular, it's a regular-degular Target. It doesn't look as "updated" as other locations, you can tell the building is old; but the employees are nice, they greet you and speak/ask if you need help, etc. This location was fully stocked and tidy. They cleaned the kiosk in the self serve lanes after each transaction. read more

The staff is super nice and friendly. People who work in electronics are able to quickly scan to see if something is in the back that's not on the shelves. However, most of the time they are out of a lot of hygienic and baby items in the middle of the week and during the day. Clean atmosphere and easy parking. Pick up and curbside available. CVS pharmacy located inside. I was able to do a walk-in covid shot. No covid tests available. They usually only have one or two registers open and the lines can get pretty long. I understand they are hiring right now for new customer service Representatives and it seems like the new hires are pretty well rounded. I gave this location three stars because of the inventory not always being available during a reasonable time. The grocery aisle looks like they are constantly rearranging or stocking up for another shutdown and can be hard to navigate toward the end of the store grocery aisles especially. There's not room enough for two people down one aisle with a cart or a basket. Just a little cramped. Overall, pretty average. Could use some improvements but has your basic needs read more

Target- Regional or area management needs to be contacted. I have corporate's #. I'll call for the area managers #. Ohlen and 183 Austin store has one cashier at most times. Competing with Walmart isn't a great idea for Target stores. We are over 70 years old, had over $300 of merchandise. The managers checked us out before as at least 3 times the second manager needs a break. She knows who we are. We spend thousands a year in Target. I guess we have to go north 183. There are more cashiers there. read more

The Target near Austin's old Chinatown. I always remember walking around and shopping whenever we had family dinners at Din Hao, and I finished eating early. Unfortunately, this Target is my least favorite at Austin. I complained about rude customers at the S.IH-35 Target location. But the Research Blvd customers are rude in a different manner: There always seems to be a kid wailing or running around and bumping into objects whenever I shop here. Hey, wailing kids are not the fault of the parents most times. But the parents that shop at this Target location don't even try: They do nothing to make their kid calm down. Instead they continue shopping as though they are deaf and oblivious. Other than that, this Target location doesn't have much either. They don't carry my favorite Babyganics physical sunscreen that I used to stockpile from Babies RS, their shelves are always at a disarray, and they only seem to carry XXXL clothes in styles that I actually like. Luckily enough though, the men's clothing section has no sizing discrepancies. Parking is plentiful too. I used to park here whenever I wanted to eat at old Chinatown. Thanks to Tatsuya Ramen, there's never parking at that area. read more

I mean it's a Target, they carry target products. But definitely the worst Target location I've been to in the Austin area. It's the only one that doesn't have their inventory up to date online (not sure how, you'd think this would be automatic based on SKU's checked out/inventory). I have multiple times come here for various products and arrive and it's out, while still showing in stock. Pretty frustrating as someone who spends $1000+ a month at Target for my job. Clean, friendly, and helpful. This Target might not be "flashy" but it's up to date and clean. Many of the associates have been at this location for years which I think helps maintain consistency that I see. Inventory availability seems to correspond to the app and items are clearly stocked. I've been going to this location for many, many years, even when other locations were closer to me. I know I'm supposed to say something "negative" so that the review doesn't get flagged so I'll just say that I wish stocking happened before business hours, like in the old days, so some aisles and stock aren't blocked and wheelchair and walker accessibility weren't hindered. But the upside is that there's always people on the floor maintaining the shelves, cleaning, and available to help! But overall I spend way too much time and money here. read more

If I'm driving to the Target of my choice in Austin, this is probably it. The biggest reason this is my go-to is because it's sale section is bananas. There are always tons of things marked down and not picked through like some of the other Targets in town - I'm looking at you Ben White. You can find great deals on housewares, clothes, shoes and more. It's phenomenal. I also find that this Target stays slow during peak hours. Sunday at noon? No one. Tuesday after work? Nada. Customer service is not their strong suit! As I approached a register to check-out, a male employee was dismayed to see me before he turned off his register light. I asked if he'd like me to go to another and, his response was "be my guest." I then went to another register and a female employee had to complete her conversation with a fellow employee before she began to ring up my items. She never spoke to me except to ask if I wanted to buy a bag and my total. In addition, as I shopped, I overheard three female employees in the women's section discussing the demands on them by management to increase their time while working in the racks. They made the comment that robots are needed at the store to make management happy. I sure hope that management will see these reviews and make adjustments as necessary. So, during my shopping today, I encountered 5 very unhappy employees. But we all know that happy employees will end up making happy customers! Please fix this! read more

Worst target I have ever been too. I felt like I was in Walmart. The female bathroom was disgusting. toilet paper everywhere. Half of the toilets were clogged. I mentioned to to the "manager" who just said he was sorry... and that was that. When we checked out there was only ONE register open, with about 7 people waiting. I love target, but this was not only a horrible representation of target, but also unacceptable human service in general. I will never go back to target. This Target is always a solid choice. The selection is pretty solid, it's clean, it has good sales and it's mostly empty. Their customer service is bang-on and I've never had a problem here. This is what we refer to as the old Target. There is a brand spanking new Target by the Gateway shopping area closer to our house but for some reason we continue to frequent the old. She's like a sweet old aunt with lots of children running around loose in her house. We know where everything is located and feel comfortable hanging out with her. I really like the way they handle returns here. For the past two months, I've been trying to find a comfortable pillow. I'm a little like The Princess and the Pea when it comes to what I sleep in and on. Anyone remember that fairy tale? I have test driven 4 pillows. Still, I'm sleeping on a ten year old model every night. Target takes them back every time. No questions asked. During each holiday, we come in to check out the decorative items. I'm a decor whore. The Halloween items are my favorite. I like roaming the aisle and pushing the buttons on the outdoor witches or Frankenstein figures to hear their bloodcurdling screams. At Christmas, I wanted a new PlayStation Sing Star DVD. You know, my gift to me. I had looked around at other stores and finally showed up at this Target desperate for my Sing Star fix. The sweet employee went into the back to look for the Legends version. After what seemed like an eternity but was really just three minutes, she returned with the only one in all of Austin. In complete Yelp defiance I am writing a review for Target.....a chain.... a HUGE corporation! Since all chain stores seem to have a personality of their own, I think its important to give people the "low down" on their destination. This Target is awesome, and definitely the best Target in Austin. I don't care what people say about me..... I LOVE TARGET. They have great stuff for your house, they have really nice clothes (especially for the ladies), and to top it off the store is CLEAN and ORGANIZED! It's Target! It's less than a mile from my house! I know where everything is because I've been there 20 bazillion times! Generally, anything I need, I can find it there, and for pretty cheap, and not have to go to lots of stores to do it. For the busy, and lazy person I am, it totally works. The one thing I find frustrating is the women's clothing section. I used to pretty much buy most of my shirts there, but now they feel sort of cheaply made. And while I do have a short torso, I swear the designers forget they're not making dresses. I suppose that's in fashion, but whatever - I don't have to like it. It's probably good for my bank account though - I can actually walk in now and buy what I need, and not magically spend a hundred bucks on clothes when I just needed some toilet paper...as long as I don't get lost in the accessories section.... read more

My home away from home...other than work. I'll admit it, I'm a Target whore! What CAN'T you find at Target? NOTHING...that's what! Everything your little heart could possibly desire can be found at Target. I choose this one because it was the one I always went to when I first moved to Austin. I still frequent it, even though the one on I 35 is a touch closer. I don't think that I've ever seen this store incredibly busy or messy at all. Of course, the $1 area is always a little chaotic, just because they have some great stuff for a dollar! There's always awesome sales here, if you look at the ends of the isles. There have been very few times I've left without buying something that was not on my list. The most often culprit? DVDs. There are some great movies for under $10, some for as little as $5.50! The organization of this store is different than any other Target I've been to...the electronics department is in the back of the store instead of a front corner. It's a pretty good gimmic for movie addicts such as myself, but I already walk around the entire store anyway! I love Target! They get my newly coveted five stars! read more

As far as this specific location goes, I've had better luck finding things from a seemingly wider selection at the location on Great Hills just a few miles North. This one seems a little more run down. In general I like how they handle registries. When your friends register at Target for their wedding or new baby, it's so easy to find stuff because the aisles are very clearly marked. Other places have been horrible for that. The only thing I don't really like there are the jeans. None fit me well, but I have pretty short legs. I also have a hard time finding more formal skirts. The only other small issue I have is that we got photos processed there one time, sent from a Flickr account, and a good amount of them ended up being messed up. I don't know if it was Target's or Flickr's mistake, though. Overall, Target is one of my favorite stores and everything is affordable. Let me start by saying I never shop at Walmart. So, when I'm needing my discount shopping fix, I head to Target. Location: Parking is never a problem because the lot is huge. It is in a great location because it's within walking distance of Din Ho, Coco's, Hong Kong Market and Pho Van. How can you say no to that? Merchandise and Merchandising: This location is always a little more slovenly than the rest of them. Things are almost always not where they belong -- even in the small food section they have. That being said, it seems to have a great $1 assortment, especially during the holiday season. I just bought everything I needed for three Easter baskets for $12 -- how can you say no? Staff: The staff here isn't friendly or rude -- they are invisible. Not only do I rarely see them (other than behind a desk, so to speak, whether it be a cashier or customer service desk employee), but when I do they never interact with me. They don't even greet us or say hi, but I don't feel slighted. I just don't think they were trained to greet customers. Overall, it's just an average Target, but it'll get the job done in a pinch. read more

The $1 spot is my fave area here, then I roll to womens clearance, shoes, kids clearance ..by then my kids are done and I am just wamred up and ready to attack clearance end caps for sheets and past holiday chocolate! this store is clean and well laid out. the bathrooms are norammly all right. Parking does not usck and ther eis always a staff member to snag and they usually offer help. It will get some of your to do list knocked off and occassianlly you can find a dress for $7 that is your style and size on clearance!! read more

To avoid Walmart, find good prices, and find short-enough checkout lines, I shop at this Target. Its selection is limited compared to other Targets in Austin, but is usually fine for my simple needs. I wish they'd open more checkout lanes sometimes. However, this store is never packed; it's pretty empty inside when I go. I wonder how they can keep it open.
