I knew I was getting Pad Thai and also picked up an order of egg rolls. The Pad Thai was everything I was craving! It was stir fried rice noodles with egg, bean sprouts, scallions and crushed peanuts and pad thai sauce. It was delish! The Pad Thai was so good I went back to try some more during the week and ordered some Massaman Curry, which was just delish as the pad Thai. I've been getting this place for about a year and it's one of my favorite Thai places in the Tempe area. The service is incredibly fast (especially for UberEats). I'd say it usually takes an average of 20 minutes for an online delivery order, and the food is always hot and fresh. Some of my favorites include the Laab Salad, Yellow Curry, Pad Thai and Crab Fried Rice. Everything is always consistently authentic. I would highly recommend Tara Thai! read more

I ordered food for delivery last night. Order and delivery was fine, but I was really disappointed in the food. It looked legit in the pix and there were great reviews so I was excited, but sadly it failed. I don't know why, but it is incredibly hard to find a good Thai place in this area--it is always a bit off. Maybe a different region of Thai people are here and I'm not used to that taste? I ordered mild papaya salad, Tom kha, pad see ew, and mango sticky rice. The only thing i liked was the fresh mangos so i might order a bunch of this in the future and just ask for mango without the sticky rice lol. The papaya salad was too spicy for me. I know it always has a bit of heat to it, but it's usually enveloped flavor with lime and other flavors that is delicious, but this tasted more like those chili peppers you just add. I hate that taste. Also the papaya had no taste and tomato tasted fishy which made no sense. So that was not edible. I really wanted soup which is why i ordered Tom kha, but it didn't taste right. I think it was too much coconut milk but I'm not sure. The consistency wasn't soupy. Another failure. Now, I usually love pad see ew and I saw someone else posted a review of it saying how legit it was so I was excited. But when I opened that container, the first thing I noticed was the coloring was very dark and that is NOT how it is supposed to look! I taste tested and it was just okay. I just ate the tofu. The broccoli and carrots had the flavor, but not the tofu. Overall, very disappointed in how the food tasted. But that's just my personal preference. read more

If you love Thai, this is the place to visit! First of all, so happy that they were open New Year's Day. Most important though, the food is really good! We placed a Togo order and got the beef bowl noodle soup and the beef pad see ew. The portion sizes are generous for the cost and each entree comes with a beverage which includes a canned soda or Thai iced tea. One thing to note is that they are not open Mondays but definitely worth trying out any other day of the week. We'll definitely be back. read more

I ordered Pad Thai and Green Curry, and Pad Thai had so little amount of Sprouts and other veggies, mostly over cooked tasteless noodles. I could only have few bites and I tossed it away. Green Curry, I ordered it to be Mild, but it tasted like a firely spice!!! They probably made a mistake & add a spice. I paid for the food I couldn't eat at all. I was so excited when I saw a new Thai place was opening up right next to my apartment. I couldn't wait to try it, and I was not disappointed-I can confidently say this replaces all other Thai places as my favorite! Every dish I have tried has been outstanding-so much flavor and they spice it just the way you want it. Absolutely delicious. Drinks come with your meal (at least through Dec. 2019) and they have 1/2 priced pad Thai on Tuesday's! The place is very cozy, with two booths and a few tables, but does not feel cramped whatsoever. If you know good Thai food, then you know. I have been looking for a go-to Thai place in Tempe for almost a year now. FINALLLLLYYYY I discovered Tara! It's the most authentic place I've found AND incredibly delicious. On top of the amazing food (I always get Pad See Ew), the employees are so kind. I've seen the same gentleman in there working every time I've gone in, and he is always so sweet. The second time I came in, he even gave me a free soda (which happened to be my favorite kind!) as a thank-you for supporting them during this weird time. The gesture warmed my heart. I'll continue going here as long as I'm able to! Not only is the food amazing, the people who own the place are, too, which makes it even better. The curry is delicious. But I also order pad Thai, and Laab salad. Both sounded good on the website. The pad thai smelled off and tasted like cat food. And metallic. The chicken in the Laab salad tasted the same. I usually don't post negative reviews, but this was very disappointing. We didn't eat it. Ordered Red Curry, Pad Thai, pot stickers, Chicken Larb, Yellow Curry... everything was well packed for the ride. Condiments galore...can't remember what else...did we order soup? I think so, in a blink it was gone. Food was hot when we unpacked it...and although we didn't consume everything at the luncheon, people were still sneaking small plates until dinnertime! We found this place by accident one day through uber eats. That was a couple of years ago. This is so far the best Thai place we've tried in the East Valley. Curently there is no dine-in option. Their pad thai and drunken noodles are our usual go-to here. Just beware even the medium spice is pretty hot - they offer mild too, just ask. This is a little hole-in-the-wall place, nothing fancy but honestly most good food comes from places like this. It's family owned and they are super sweet people.
