Okay, Okay! I admit, I have a Mexican food addiction. Call me the Mexifood Guru, ha! I ordered tonight from Seamless and I am more than pleased with my order. I had 1 carnitas tostada and 2 tacos that were of chicken and carnitas. The taco shells were nice and toasty and stuffed with meat. It was all just so DELICIOUS Delivery was fast, my food was still hot and once again DELICIOUS I devoured it so my pics won't be pretty but hey, at least you can see what I ate right? I'll be visiting in person since I love me some authentic Mexican food and this place deserves my presence. I would appreciate next time if they gave me utensils, but fortunately I'm home so I can just grab one from my kitchen. I know you're probably thinking "Why does she need a utensil for tacos and Tostadas?" Well........when you fill that sucker up with delicious meat the way they did, you don't want to scoop it with your hands, will you? Or maybe you do? Hahahahaha!

Okay the sweetest people own/work here. My friend came in and ordered a burrito her shoe was falling apart and they went in the back and got gorilla glue and duct tape and helped her tape it up!!! It was so kind, also the burrito was giant and delicious! Definitely recommend.

Wow! The storefront is unassuming, but they definitely make some killer tacos. I stopped by one afternoon and tried the al pastor tacos. Their's are definitely some of the best I've ever had - a bit greasier than I would like - but soooo delicious. They don't skimp on the taco fillings or the sauces either. I appreciate that everything is made to order and that they take their time with the construction of the tacos, but if you are in a rush, I'd suggest calling in your order beforehand. The only downside to to-go orders is that they don't provide boxes. Everything is simply put on paper plates and wrapped up in foil. Okay in a pinch, but it definitely made a mess when unwrapping. For $3/taco, the food here is actually a really, really great deal. If I permanently lived in the area, this would be my go-to taco shop!

Don't be fooled. It's very....VERY bland. You could see the lack of seasoning on the chicken. No taste whatsoever...

Only reason I'm giving this place 2-stars instead of 1 is because it's probably my fault for choosing an authentic restaurant when I know damn well all authentic food I've tried, no matter where, has been bland. The blandest of the bland. No seasoning whatsoever. I ordered from this place for delivery for the first time in my friend's neighborhood because I was craving "the idea of authentic" tacos I guess. I was expecting seasoned chicken chunks with all the fixings (cilantro, salsa, onions, guac, etc). I also bought a quesadilla expecting the seasoned meat along with cheddar or american cheese oozing along with it inside of a four-way cut flatbread thing. What I got was a surprise. First, the delivery took about an hour. I didn't care much since I called the place nicely and they told me they were busy. I'm not an asshole, plus I wasn't starving. So, delivery wasn't a big deal for me. Food gets in my lap and it smells amazing. I open the container with four tacos packed in and I'm ready to chow down. They're not stingy with the meat, thy gave me plenty of limes, and a great amount of red and green salsa. I'm thinking this is going to be great and amazing. After my first few bites after putting on the lime, there was no flavor pops or...really anything. It was as bland as eating unseasoned chicken between just...flatbread with no salt in it? I can't put my finger on it. I was disappointed considering the high ratings I saw of this place. It wasn't spectacular at all. I had to carry home my leftovers and add hot sauce to give it SOMETHING. Then and only then was it worth eating. Don't get me started on the quesadilla. I mean, I don't know. Call me culturally ignorant, but when I picture a quesadilla, I don't remember loose strands of lettuce, flavorless white melted cheese, and more unseasoned meat between an even thicker bland flatbread. Even the salsa that was given was JUST spice. It wasn't seasoned with any salt or anything. I passed my quesadilla to my friend who took care of it for me, but he said it was kinda weird too. The ONLY real good thing I can say about this place is the fact that the ingredients used were super super fresh. But, what good are they if you don't help it with seasoning mate? TL;DR: Extremely BLAND food, but authentic I guess? Next time, I'm hitting up an Americanized place. That, or just an American cuisine place in general because I'm paying for flavor pop, not lightly seasoned or lack of seasoned food.

#The Picadita was really good. My first Picadita. #Mole Poblano had chicken cutlets which wasn't that great. But the #mole sauce was really good.

Spicy Chicken on crispy tostadas. Delicious!

Ordered for delivery over the phone because seamless wasn't working at the moment and boy what a mistake that was. The girl who answered the phone barely understood English and even when I spoke to her in Spanish she kept messing up our order. There were awkward gaps of silence - where I was like HELLO? Did you get that last one? She'll pause and then finally answer. She was clearly distracted. After a gruesome 10-15 mins of ordering like 10 different items, we finally completed our order. ETA was about 30-40 mins. 1 hour goes by and they were closing in 5 minutes. When I called the same girl was dazed and confused once again but managed to get a hold of the delivery guy - who was 10 mins away. Delivery was delayed because he was out on another delivery and they had to wait for him to return. At last, our food arrived. Here's the outcome of what I tried: Al pastor tacos - their best tacos, deliciously juicy and flavorful. Chicken tinga tostadas - spicy shredded chicken on a crispy tortilla. So good. Cheese quesadilla - while very large (two people can split in half), the corn tortilla and sour cheese didn't go well. Some dishes were good, some were OK - so I'm torn about this place. The phone service was really just a mess, though. She was nice but so distracted and confused.

I have no idea what this sauce is because I didn't request it, but it is definitely rancid.

Ordered delivery from Taqueria Sofia this afternoon and I'm writing this review only 30 minutes after my order arrived. I just finished eating a small portion of my order and I had to stop as I started feeling incredibly sick to my stomach. There were several pieces of chicken that had fat attached and everything lacked flavor. I ordered rice and beans but the cup of beans they sent had a bunch of gravy and hardly any beans (seriously, like a spoonful. They also smell spoiled. The green sauce they included was RANCID; as soon as I took the top off the container I could smell it. Will NEVER order from here again and I have no idea how they have any good reviews.

No frills, amazing tacos, very good service. What more could you want?! Tamales were also good.

Tasty, Chicken Tinga Tostada (left) and Steak Taco. $2.50 each items.

First time at this neighborhoods mexican restaurant. Service with a smile. It was a nice summer day, so I sat outside on the wooden bench. I came here for lunch. Ordered the Chicken Tinga Tostada ($2.50) It was tasty. Also ordered the Steak Taco ($2.50) It is made authentic mexican style. With chopped up beef, onions & cilantro. Both were good choice. I enjoyed my meal. I left a generous tip for quick & friendly service and tasty food.

Our reservation was for 8:30pm, but we arrived early and Alejandra, the hostess, was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. Even though she was ready to seat us, we decided to hang at the bar until the rest of our party arrived and that was the perfect move. Alkarys behind the bar was top-tier. She recommended the Siempre Reposado, and let me tell you... smooth, clean, dangerously good. If you're into tequila, that's a must. Now let's talk about the food. We ordered the quesadilla, rajas, tamales, tacos, and the queso fundido and every single dish hit. The queso fundido came out bubbling, rich, perfectly melted with that pull you want when you scoop it up. The tamales were moist and packed with flavor, wrapped beautifully and clearly made with care. The rajas had that perfect balance of roasted pepper sweetness and savory depth. The tacos? Authentic, well-seasoned, and layered with flavor, no shortcuts. Even the quesadilla stood out, crispy on the outside with that perfectly melted interior. Everything felt traditional, elevated but still true to its roots. You can taste the authenticity. Service was attentive without being overbearing, the ambiance was super casual and laid back, the kind of Brooklyn spot you pull up to for a real dinner experience, not just a quick bite. Highly recommend this place if you're out and about in Brooklyn. Definitely coming back for the tequila, the queso fundido, and round two of those tacos. I'm gonna try eating at the bar to check out the spot in the front of the house.

I'm genuinely in love with this place -- everything tastes homemade because it truly is. They have amazing weekly specials, too: * Happy Hour on Mondays ALL DAY with classic margaritas for only $10 (so good!) * Tecate Tuesday, perfect if you love an easy, chilled beer * And my absolute favorite: the Carnitas Combo -- tender, flavorful pulled pork that hits every time, available any day of the week. If you're vegetarian or avoid dairy, the Vegetable Burrito is incredible. It's hearty, packed with flavor, and wrapped in their house-made corn tortilla, which makes all the difference. Don't skip the chips -- with a scoop of guacamole on top of the warm chips. Heaven. Brunch here is another level: * Their chilaquiles are comforting and perfectly seasoned * And the eggs with steak is such a satisfying combo The cocktails are unreal -- especially their signature pineapple spicy cocktail. AMBIANCE: Walking to the restaurant from the subway, it's located on an unassuming block at the corner of 4th St and Havemeyer in Williamsburg, front of store doesn't particularly stand out. Walking in they've decorated with creative, crafty (in a good way) touches--the multitude of ropes draped from the ceiling add dimension to the ceiling and the bar back wall is composed of wood pieces forming a multi-colored herringbone pattern. Textured glass pendant lights hanging from the ceiling throw mini geometric patterns across the dark walls, and vibrant canvas artworks add pictorial interest along the walls. FOOD: YUM. I can see why this place was jam packed on a Saturday night, and reservations are needed. Strong recommendation for their tasting menu at $58 pp, what a delightful meal! 8 sharing dishes and 3 desserts were perfect for a party of five, and drinks are separate though you can add a cocktail pairing for $47. For each main they provide a serving per person, and the desserts are shared. I came hungry and was so full by the end of the meal--everything was delicious! - grapefruit guacamole w/house-made chips: the grapefruit chunks were "meaty" and surprisingly went really well with the guac, it added a different citrus element than the usual lime. Comes with a small bowl of maybe 6-7 chips and we asked for two chips refills since the chips to guac and salsa ratio was low. - spicy faroe islands' salmon tartar: tasty and I liked the latin flavors and corn, snow peas, a touch of wasabi. Flavors of the sesame-soy-truffle-lemon vin and crema got a little muddled. Relatively more "generic" dish of the evening though I was here for it! Any dish with fresh tender salmon, I can't complain. - blue crab and carrot tostada, generous shredded crab salad on top of freshly crisp blue corn tortilla. Topped with pumpkin seeds, dill, cilantro, and saffron-orange aioli. - three cheese & artichoke 'queso fundido': served in a very hot ceramic pot and super melty and delicious, eaten with the fluffy grilled pita and green apple slices + salsa. One of the top picks of the evening. - roasted bone marrow and chorizo, served as tacos with fresh blue corn tortillas, and added a sprinkle of pickled onions--does that sound amazing? Bc it was AAHMAZING. - spicy chipotle-guajillo shimp 'diablo' (not spicy): served with pumpkin tortillas and three accompaniments on the side--mushroom chile crisp, horseradish crema, celery 'salsa macha". Part 2 to make your own tacos was another hit! Our entire table agreed if they sold the sauce for the shrimp we'd all buy it. - heritage pork osso bucco 'carnitas' with Fall-spiced black mole, sour cherry mostardo, calabrian chile pesto: cue drooling now. This part 3 of the tacos was served on pumpkin tortillas; the meat was practically falling off the bone, tender, juicy and flavorful. - buffalo-style com 'elote: sooo good too! A little messier to eat since it comes drizzled with spicy hot sauce butter, feta, lime aioli, cilantro, though totally worth it! - Desserts: --green tea matcha churros: comes with two little pots of spiced mexican chocolate & passion fruit sauce. Warm, sugary and crisp without being too sweet. --pumpkin spiced-vanilla flan: topped with sour cherries, cocoa nibs & toasted seed 'trail mix", if you love flan you'll love this, so smooth and creamy with a bit of crunch and tang from the cherries. --pistachio tres leches cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry, using an olive oil cake: we all agreed this was probably the best tres leches we've ever had. The pistachio nuttiness and the creaminess from the milks paired well. SERVICE: Very friendly and attentive service though it was very loud in the restaurant and they had to really shout. There was a delay in the middle of our meal I think bc kitchen was slammed, after the entree we waited about 35 min for our desserts. Considering they limited the seating to 2 hours and about half of our party arrived 20 min late, and accounting for the long wait pre-dessert, they did us solid by extending our table time by about an hour in total. Also great that they brought the first dessert out with a candle for my friend's birthday.
