This is a tourist trap: the food is overpriced and bland. Do not make the same my girlfriend and I did.
We have been to many restaurants and tapas bars in Barcelona, so we have a pretty good idea of the typical portion-size-to-price ratios to expect in the city. Tapas 24 has, by a long shot, the worst such ratio. In fact, I'd even go as far to say that eating there was the most egregious experience of being price gouged at a restaurant in my life.
When we were looking at the menu, we noticed the high prices for many of the menu items (3.50 euro for Pan Con Tomate, really? 9.50 euro for Rum and Coke, really?). In hindsight, we should have left right here without ordering.
We ordered Patatas Bravas and a Bikini and two bottles of water. The Patatas Bravas were priced at 6.50 euro, which is very very high. Other tapas bars in the city price their Patatas Bravas between 1.00 and 3.50 euro, depending on serving size. So we were expecting to get a massive plate of delicious Patatas Bravas. The Bikini was priced at 9.00 euro, so we were expecting to get a large sandwich to share.
The one positive thing I have to say about Tapas 24 is that our food was brought out quickly. But this doesn't mean much given the quality of the food.
The waiter brought us the Patatas Bravas first. The portion size was very small, around what I'd expect to get for 1.00-2.50 euro. Moreover, the food didn't taste very good and it wasn't authentic. We had just paid 6.50 euro for reheated frozen french fries and bravas sauce! Patatas Bravas is supposed to be crispy home-style potatoes, not french-style fries! Go ahead and look on Google Images and see what I mean.
Then the waiter brought the Bikini. My first thought was "Is this a mistake? Did she just bring us the food intended for a different table?" This was because the plate placed on our table had four very small finger-food-sized pieces of what looked to be processed Mozzarella sliced between thin bread. We were in shock at the fact that we had just paid 9.00 for something that could have been made by a ten year old child.
After eating our paltry servings we asked for the check. We waited for around ten minutes, which, while annoying, gave us opportunity to see all the other dishes being brought to other tables. One thing in common was the small portion sizes.
Our total ended up being 19.50 euro. Even if the total was ~7.00 (which is what we would have expected to pay for similar portion sizes at other tapas bars), we would still be disappointed due to the low quality of the food.
