Asparagus

TapaTapa is a beach cafe fronting the Mediterranean sea. I've read the other reviews on TapaTapa, and many were not complimentary. That said, here is my review of TapaTapa when we ordered food. We sat outside with the view of beach walkers and the Mediterranean Sea. We ordered grilled asparagus, mussels, fried calamari and mango sorbet. Grilled asparagus - 5/5 The grilled asparagus was tasty and grilled just right. I love the taste of actual charcoal or wood on my food when grilling meats or veggies. Mussels - 5/5 The mussels were cooked just right. Not too under done where the meat is semi-raw, or over cooked where the meat is hard. The mussels were tasty. Fried calamari - 5/5 I enjoyed TapaTapa's fried calamari. The batter was light and the calamari was tender and not fishy. Mango sorbet - 5/5 The mango Sorbet tasted like mango, not a blend of various fruits and mango. It was sweetened just right, not tart. Very refreshing after our nice meal. When strolling along Barcelona beach and feeling the hunger urge, I highly recommend giving this establishment a try. I hope they keep the cooks that prepared our meal.

BEST SPOT ON THE BEACH! Come here for a friendly atmosphere, delicious food and the best sangria on the beach. We came here on our second day of our honeymoon and received such excellent service and good food (we ordered the chicken teriyaki skewers, the patatas bravas, the toasted truffle mozzarella and ham sandwiches, the ham croquettes and potato bombs). We loved it so much we saved it for our last day to revisit. The view of the ocean is nice, and a fresh breeze comes through that kept us cool even though it was so hot! Roberto is amazing, he is thoughtful and attentive and we are so glad to have met him. If you are looking for a lovely, restful spot to lunch on your vacation in Barcelona, grab a liter of Sangria here with some tapas and you will have a good time. (Make sure to get the sorbets at the end to refresh yourself with something cool, they have zing and are so tasty it's like iced fruit)

We were actually looking for another restaurant when we decided to stop and eat Tapas here. The location was great overlooking the water and it was nice and sunny outside so we have this place a try. I ordered a sangria and the asparagus and potatoes tapas. My husband ordered the calamari and the olives. The food was tasty and the drinks were great. We were a little shocked at the bill. For just a few tapas and 3 drinks it was over 50 euros. Ordering expensive tapas can add up. We left satisfied but not full. Overall, the ambiance was great, food was good but the price was high.

This lady was very rude and threatened to call the police because I told her the food made me nauseous and I won't pay for what I didn't eat

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Place was mediocre. Lady at the bar was rude and threaten to call the police if I didn't pay for what I didn't eat. I ordered a Kale salad and it was basically lentils and quinoa. I also ordered calamari which had not flavor and cheese coquettes which made me nauseous after eating one .

Get the octopus!! It's so good! Really nice waitress who helped me with my Spanish. The jamon is also good and can't wait to come back for a full meal. The miniburger has great flavor but very mini lol.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

Our server, Amaya, was funny, knowledgeable, and incredibly attentive. He took great care of us, and every single recommendation he made was delicious. I wish I knew all the Spanish names of the dishes because everything was amazing. The highlights for us were the Bacalao -- so tender and full of flavor -- and honestly the best octopus I've ever had in my life. We also loved the soft steak with duck liver served on a slice of French baguette, the shrimp skewers, patatas, and the Spanish ham with tomato toasts. Every dish was unforgettable. On top of the incredible food, the restaurant itself has such an elegant atmosphere with beautiful décor that made the whole dining experience even more special. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Barcelona!

I came here for lunch, and thankfully I didn't have to wait too long before I got seated inside. The interior is a bit on the smaller side, but it's quite bright with a lot of natural sunlight inside. For the food, I decided to get squid, codfish with honey allioli, and iberian ham montaditos. While all of the food was great, for me the codfish was hands-down the star of the show and probably one of the best dishes that I ate on the trip. The flavor of the sauce combined with the texture of the fish actually blew me away, and I can see why my server highly recommended this to me. If you just get one things when coming here, definitely make sure not to miss this dish. Highly recommend checking this place out for Spanish tapas, they represent the cuisine well!

The ambience is warm, welcoming, and effortlessly charming--perfect for a relaxed yet memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious and truly authentic Spanish cuisine. The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Cañete was booked out for 2 weeks straight, so we decided to risk it and see if we could get a spot as walk-ins; and were lucky enough to want less than 5 minutes before being sat at the "bar" in front of the open kitchen, which is honestly the best seat in the house IMHO. You get to see all the 'action' and interact with the friendly and often funny staff. Everything in the menu we tried was fantastic, but a few standouts for me were the squid sandwich (do yourself a favor and try it, even if you aren't a "squid person" the bread is fresh, and the butter garlic sauce they use should be sold in bottles at the supermarket), the lobster croquet was refreshing, and the aged beef steak with foie and truffle sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection.
