Always crowded for a good reason. Great food and extensive beer list. Great happy hours that can't be beat; $4 beers, $5 mussels, $5 select apps etc. I came here yesterday with a group of 5 and we sifted through the crowd and found a table. There wasn't a hostess up front but we found somebody in the back who helped us. Everybody loved their food and I wish I took pics of it all! The bacon burger looked amazing with really thick maple glazed bacon. My spinach & artichoke dip was really good with more of a fried bread chip as opposed to crunchy chips.... soooo good! If i could give this restaurant a 0 I would. After spending 65$ on NYE for open bar, "an array of appetizers", and a champagne toast I was more than disappointed with the service of this restaurant. The appetizers were promised to be out from 9-12 and they did not even bring out food until 10:45. Just to find out that it was only going to be one tray of boneless wings and one tray of wings. Everyone was frustrated waiting for the food that once it came out it was a free for all. They didn't provide enough plates and 75% of the people were left waiting another 30 minutes for food. To the point we're people started picking at it with their fingers from the tray (not sanitary at all). Not to mention that the entire crowded restaurant was fighting for food when food was only promised to those who bought the 65$ NYE ticket. Later on in the night when we were promised a "champagne toast" they were serving white claw instead of champagne....on New Year's Eve. They should have advertised it as "white claw toast at 12" I attached the pictures because I could not believe what I was seeing and what I paid 65$. I repeat I would not recommend this spot for dinner, or for any occasions, they can be completely lying about the liquor, beers and drinks they serve you. read more

Went to Tap Room Patchogue on a Saturday night. Everything was great until the bill came. I told the bartender I wanted to pay cash instead of using the card they were holding for the tab. There is a clear communication between us and ask if I need change. I say no because the rest was for a tip. I get home and find out I'm charged... The next day I find myself on the phone all day with the manager and general manager. They basically said that I am lying and treated me like shit. They finally gave in, and the general manager is complaining that I'm not leaving a tip. Note : I tipped 60-70$ cash through out the night. I told him that and he still said, "so you want the full refund and you're not leaving a tip". I wanted it to be over with so I said leave $15 and make sure it goes to the bartender. He hangs up without saying another word. I wanted to thank him. He ruined my experience and won't be going back. Not saying all tap rooms have a bad general manager but Patchogue sure does! read more

My favorite place in Patchogue! It has been difficult to get a spot here since covid. Usually a 45 minute wait so it is better to arrive early when going out at night to Patchogue. Smaller wait time earlier in the day. What attracts me here the most is the beer flights and the AMAZING spinach dip. The spinach dip is super cheesey with nice thick pita chips. Good serving size for 3. I ordered the mac and cheese burger and cajun fries this time which was hella good. It comes with a fig jam which i will order on the side in the future. Our waiter was amazing I usually always get him and he never fails to be the best. Wide variety if beer on tap (as it should be at a place called Tap room) the selection of beer changes throughout the seasons as well as the signature cocktails. Cant wait for PUMPKIN BEER SEASONNNNNNNN. I hopefully can make the even where they have 13 pumpkin beers on tap. Excited to see what more is to come! read more

First off this is our favorite restaurant in patchogue. We eat her all the time and it's always amazing. Story: my wife and I were planning to go for a nice dinner on a Friday night but unfortunately my son got sick. We figured we would ubereats and still be able to enjoy tap room. The order came and it was wrong (not tap rooms fault at all). The were so apologetic even though again it was Ubers fault and they replaced our order right away. Their staff and management was sooo helpful. We absolutely love this place and will continue to come here based off of how great, not only the food is, but how great the people are. The Tap Room is one of the many pubs in downtown patchogue. As you walk in, there is a bar area with a few tables, a smaller dining area in the back, and a patio outside. I personally have mostly come here to grab a few drinks with friends. While here I have noshed on some of the food (including the delicious truffle fries and the giant pretzel.) The service here can be hit or miss. There have been several times where I've been here getting drinks and apps and we don't see our server for quite some time. There was also a time where I wanted to order a beer flight and our waitress told us that she couldn't let us order a flight because too many people had ordered flights that day...which was a bit bizarre to me. Aside from those experiences, they have a really extensive beer menu and I love Mondays when they have local taps and apps, where you can get a Long Island beer for 4 bucks and they also have deals on apps! read more

This is a late review. We held our daughter's birthday party here back in November 2022. The service was beyond excellent; they were very accommodating to special dietary needs. Came over immediately when I walked in. I had a beer within 3 minutes of walking in. Beer was cold and fresh. I like Bluepoint beer so I had one of their flavors. I ordered the Tapchos to start. Delicious. The tequila lime chicken was fantastic, it has a bbq sauce on it too which was very tasty. Next I had the blackened gyro. Also very good. Chicken was juicy, sauce was very good. One of the last time I got this food it was Amazing, last time they forgot part of my order, had to drive back and then reheat the rest of my food. However today, the food was by far the worst. Ordered whiskey burger with extra sauce on the side for dipping and to add to the burger. Until I go to eat my burger and there is new whiskey sauce on the burger or on the side. The burger was super dry and had no flavor to it. The Bavarian Pretzel was to well done to even enjoy. Threw that right in the trash but at-least I had a side of cheese sauce for my dry burger now. Last the Tap Tenders, these very fatty piece of grease chicken. It was like they fried just the fatty pieces of the chicken and served them to us. To be honest we're running out of town real estate we've crawled all the way across the town of Patchogue almost to the Eastern most end of the Village, in front of me I see an old familiar sight as we we enter The Tap Room. Well, this place is been around awhile and I guess so have I. We immediately recognized This familiar little place as where we had used to hang out in Patchogue decades ago. Wow, It was so great to see the old place with a new name The Tap Room but the place had the same cool vibe. The beer was cold and fresh and the company here was cool. My friend started some birthday toasts which also also involved lots of the neighboring folks. The party spilled over into the rear outdoor Courtyard. Where we made it even more new friends. A Big shout out to the BIG cool dude from Florida. Us BIG GUYS like to stick together Damn, I forgot his name. It was getting really blurry no worry. It's how you know your party was GREAT, don't forget to designate. We all had a great time toasting and remembering the days at The Tap Room I remembered being here with my friends so many years before, and that made the party all the better. At one time probably the worst service in Patchogue hands down, although Meetball place could have been a close second. Now, it's certainly better here at The Tap Room. Good $5 burger special when dining in and frequent enough tap turn over; wing nights a steal as well, and the food is mostly on point and often the last place to grab some grub before the night winds down. All this being said they have updated their menu, updated their staff, and are thriving with a newer second story with floor to ceiling windows for a view of Main Street. If that's not available and the weather is nice, grab a seat out back on the outdoor patio. I find however their lack of consistency is unnerving. I can order the same thing and have it executed 3 different ways. I've been let down, but when they are on, they are so friggen on! Make sure you sign up for yelps cash back program (you'll find it on the page of any spot, like the Tap Room, that participates) for some cash back. We attended a party upstairs in the Tap Room. Gabby our bartender/server was very attentive. The drinks were fabulous. We were first served appetizer's family style on each table that were delicious! Boneless buffalo wings, spinach dip with lovely toasted wedged bread. I had American sliders which were perfectly cooked. The marinated steak tacos were perfectly seasoned served on flour tacos, with a hint of blue cheese that really elevated the taste. Gabby has the best personality and never appeared overwhelmed by about 35 of us. She was a rock star! Friendly, and efficient. The Tap Room is one of my favorite happy hour and late night spots. They have great deals for happy hour like $5 mussels (get the Drunken German ones, you will NOT be dissapointed) $5 burgers, and $5 wings. They have happy hour everyday from 3-7 and also on Sundays during football season. Oh yeah, and they serve up $3 pints too! They have a rotating selection of craft beer which includes an American beer tower, an International beer tower, and also a tower that's reserved for most Blue Point beers. If you're coming here on a weekend night, prepare for it to be crowded! It's a little small but rumor has it they're building upstairs so when that's done there should be plently of room to move. Being new to the area, I was on Uber eats about a week ago looking for dinner. I came across The Tap Room, it had good reviews as well as having a menu that interested me. I wound up ordering a grilled chicken wrap with Cajun fries. The chicken was juicy, it came with avocado and onions, and I had gotten chipotle mayo. The Cajun fries were absolutely delicious. There aren't many restaurants I know of that offer those as an option, so I had to get them. I would love to go and dine in and check out some other options I liked from their menu. read more

We've been in here three times now. Twice to have a beer before we went to where we were going, and then once to eat there. Slow-meaning not busy-each time. The staff seems inexperienced but tat should improve. Spoke to the owner one night. Nice lady. Corrected the tab when we were not given the Happy Hour Prices. I want t see how training the staff improves service, and knowledge, and rapport. For fun, see how many typos you can find on the menu. Oh, BTW, the food was pretty good. I hit Tap Room for all different occasions, quick drinks, quick lunch, sit down dinner with friends, Happy Hour, late night, and almost anything else. The drink menu is one of the best when you have a group of friends with very different taste buds, and the same goes for the food. This spot is like a hug after a long day at work...here's why!!! They have worked on the appearance lately adding an upstairs, but the best seat in the house is definitely the outside patio. Pretty ivy on the walls and big TVs to watch the games. But if you sit inside, it can be a little tight. Tap room serves elevated bar food. I really enjoy the spin on the classics. Like the drunken mussels, banging wings, and a burger with fig jam!!! And the best part, is the weekly specials. Every week night you can find a discount on certain menu items. I love coming after a long day at work and having a good dinner and a cold beer for a steal! It was my first time visiting The Tap Room with a couple of my friends this evening and I had a wonderful experience. Let's start off by saying our waiter Kyle was great! He was recommending us what food to try out, and especially the seafood! Oh man, if you're a mussel lover, boy The Tap Room is the place for you. Delicious mussels with this spicy Buffalo sauce, more like a soup WITH their deeeelicious garlic bread. You have to double dip on this one for sure. I ordered the Chicken Avocado wrap and it was probably the best choice I made! Delicious grilled chicken, with lettuce and tomatoes, with a side of sweet potato fries! Delicious! I definitely recommend getting their "Tapchos"! BBQ chicken, pico, and some delicious jalapeños oh my oh my turkey phenomenal experience, will be visiting again soon. read more

This place is right on Main Street, but there is a large lot for the court building in the back, which is free parking on the weekends. We were lucky to get there early enough to beat the crowds. By the time we left this place was popping! And for good reason. This place has a nice ambience with indoor and outdoor seating, I believe there is additional seating upstairs (but it might be reserved for parties etc). Being the "tap room" they had a great selection of draft beers. I got one of my favorites, the Wells banana bread... wish they had offered a cinnamon sugar rim, though, as every other place with this drink always does. I got the short rib sliders which were tasty but a little overfilled (is too much meat a thing?). Fries were great, including the sweet potato fries which most places don't execute well. 5 stars to the sweet potato fries. Shrimp quesadilla was huge and gorgeous with big pieces of shrimp. Hubby and little son split the whisky burger, which got good reviews from them. But my favorite thing about Tap Room was the mussels. They offer several different preparation options; we chose the drunken German style, which is made with kielbasa, beer, sauerkraut and mustard- delicious and filling. The only negative I have was the service, so it loses a star on that- The girl was inattentive. However the food came out lightning fast, so props to the kitchen for that. Prices are highish, but the food really didn't disappoint. I'd rather spend a little more and know I'm getting quality stuff. Def would visit again and recommend for tasty American pub fare. read more

We usually go for the mussels on Sundays, and are never disappointed except for one time when they ran out. Other items on the menu like the Short Rib sliders or the Short Rib Quesadillas are a must-try. There's always a great beer selection, seating outside is perfect on some days, and even in the colder months it's cozy with the heaters. As a bonus, it's a cool place to watch football games during the season (Sundays ;) ). Plenty of parking in the street or the lot behind. read more

During covid we're trying to visit as many establishments as possible to support them. My husband and I were there last night 12/22/21 and ordered a burger with onion rings and a sliced skirt steak panini. While my husband definitely enjoyed his meal ( I tasted . The onion rings were Zuber's and his burger perfectly cooked. My skirt steak panini however was on the other end of the spectrum, there was hardly any steak in the sandwich and a few tiny pieces of avacado. Three thumbs down. The sole salad however was delicious. Need to add more steak and actually grill the panini to make that sandwich palatable read more
