Awesome bar. And one of the best for that late night last stop after a night out drinking. Nothing better than coming into the Tap Room for a few final beers and a heaping pile of Disco Fries. It is one of the few places in patchougue that offers outdoor service, which is great when the weather is nice. The food is definite pub-food, greasy and only really good after you've had a few, but perfect when you're in that mood. On top of that, it boasts an excellent selection of craft beers, so there's really something for everyone here. The one major drawback to this bar is that there is very limited space, and it can be really hard to get a beer if you're not lucky enough to snag a table or a spot at the bar. The service isn't great either, but not terrible. All in all, a great bar to hit as a final spot on a bar crawl, but not the kind of place you want to spend the whole night. read more

I used to be able to call this establishment one of my favorite places to go to/ order take out. I am officially boycotting this place for now on. I am a healthcare worker at a near by hospital. I called numerous times and was hung up on. I finally got through at 905 pm to place an order. The man answering the phone told me they stopped taking orders at 9 pm. My coworkers and I were looking forward to being able to help support a local business that is supposedly helping frontline workers in this pandemic. The man answering the phone was rather rude when I explained to him that I was hung up on a few times, as it was only 5 minutes past 9pm. He stated they have a strict cut off. Its hard to understand why we are trying to support local businesses when they refuse to take a large order to a whole bunch of healthcare workers on the frontlines. read more

A whole lot of "eh" going on here. First time visiting and had to ask 3 staff members how to get a table, each with conflicting directions, finally was told to sit at available spot upstairs. Love this place . The beer selection is good. Although some local brews should be added. Everything I've had here has been great there mozzarella sticks are so good. LOVE THEIR BURGERS. Probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I always recommend the Mac & Cheese burger they serve. It comes with fries and a pickle and is very well presented. They have awesome drinks and just an overall good time. Their disco fries are also to die for, which is fries with mozzarella cheese and gravy. Very mediocre food. I'd put The Tap Room in the "bar with a kitchen" category rather than a restaurant. This is no chef driven restaurant...more like a cook in the back preparing very basic items and a whole lot of fried stuff. I can't imagine who nominated them for the best burger on L.I. and I'm thinking the owners must've nominated themselves. I ordered one medium rare. After the waitress walked away, I called her back to make sure it comes out medium rare or even rare would be fine. Came out well done. Take 2 still came out medium so they just can't get this right. Part of the problem is the meat itself. Again, best burger? Really? It's like your average supermarket patty. Absolutely nothing special whatsoever. So that's the bad. The good is that they handled the burger mistake well by immediately replacing it and bringing the table a round of shots. The pretzel is good and so is the beer list. So...2-3 stars for the food and 4 stars for the bar. I'll go back for a beer and a pretzel but never again for any other food. Oh, and the live music was great too. read more

Just moved to Patchouge and heard from a few long time residents that this was THE bar to check out on Main Street. Well, they were absolutely correct! The place was full of tall, bearded men in flannel (my fav). The bartender was super slow, inattentive and had an attitude BUT she was hot so I forgave her. Not a lot of healthy choices on the menu but I didn't have high expectations in that area and I enjoy a good burger every now and then. I took away one star because the place was so packed it was difficult for me to get a proper photoshoot inside so I had to take pics outside. The Tap Room used to be a nice, cozy, friendly atmosphere in which you could converse and enjoy a few drinks and some wonderful food. Unfortunately, that's all but ruined for me. Saturday night we arrive, waiting on a line to huddle into the crowded establishment with barely a spot to stand. There had to have been 50 people in the main room, with 2 bartenders on staff. The male bartender took my order, gave me my beers, looked at my credit card and told me "wow, that's a shit last name" I looked at him in disbelief. The patron next to him(presumably a friend), got handed the card by the bartender and exclaimed something else unsavory. I'm used to this type of crowd on the south-shore of Long Island, but your batender is, plainly put, a douchebag. The PATRON then handed me my card and the bartender and patron laughed amongst themselves. I'm going out of my way to make this known to Yelp, and anyone I encounter, to avoid this toxic environment. I ripped the receipt up and threw it on the ground. I don't need to be insulted when out on a night on the town with my girlfriend. I came here about 9:30 after we had dinner and an event at the Meatball place nearby. We were starving because the meatballs were overpriced and didn't fill us up. So we decided to split a burger and some sweet potato fries. It was burger night but I forget how much it actually was. They also had tap specials every day depending on each beer. ok this place has really stepped it up since it first opened. Tap room is perfect if you are looking for a great late night snack after drinking your weight in alcohol. They are open pretty late on the weekends and I believe the kitchen stays open til 3am. Their happy hour you cant beat.. three dollars full pint beers til seven and half off some appetizers. the cheese fries I dream of in my sleep. the beer selection is great, lots of craft beer on tap and its always changing. Although the place is not big inside the outside patio makes up for it in the summer. They just put out TV's last summer, perfect for football season so your not stuck inside. I can not end my review without mentioning the mussels. I know weird because if your like me I never order seafood from a place that doesn't specialize in seafood. The Tap Room is a wonderful restaurant in downtown patchogue. The menu has some variety and some pretty good options. Almost everyday of the week they have a special on food or drinks for Happy Hour. 5 dollar burgers on Tuesday is my favorite special! Also has good nightlife opportunities on the weekend if you're looking for a night out! The only reason for me giving this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is due to their inconsistency.
