Was in the neighborhood and I noticed what looked like a fun place. So I did some researching and read decent Yelp reviews. They were also open later so it was a good fit for us. We came in on a Tuesday night which was $5 burger night. Guess we got lucky. The $5 is for their regular burger. Cheese was $1 extra. Bacon, mushrooms, avocado were all an extra upcharge and I believe our server said the specialty burgers were $8. The burgers were all served with fries. Not a bad deal. We opted for the sweet potato fries which were served with this incredible maple syrup tasting sauce. I forgot to ask what it was but believe me you want it. I also ordered the mussels, they have a few choices. White, red, a German beer version. I ordered the white wine. It was a bit bland, I definitely prefer mine. The mussels were good though. When the bartender or owner or manager (not sure his title) noticed me trying to stack my shells on a small plate he came over and slid an extra table over to ours to give me more room to use the bowl that I had which I would traditionally use for shells if I had more room. I was really blown away that he took the extra time and care to do this. He was also the one who brought me out two small tastes of the wines I was deciding between. All in all if I lived in the area this is definitely a place I would be a regular at. Good service and food. I was looking for a place to meet a friend who lives near the Hamptons. Since I was staying in eastern Nassau, we had to find a place halfway. We decided on The Tap Room in Patchogue after looking at some great yelp reviews. Boy were we right to pick this place! We started with the onion soup which was among the best I have ever had. It really was tasty, and had the perfect amount of cheese. We decided we would split a couple of appetizers instead of ordering a meal. So the next thing we ordered was the Bavarian Pretzel. It was really soft and warm, and the mustard and cheese sauce were perfect. Next we had some delicious nachos which were so big, they were hard for both of us to finish. Somehow we managed. You don't let good food go to waste! I kept thinking I didn't need dessert. But what the heck? I ordered the cinnamon sugar pretzel with the raspberry sauce. I'm not sure how I've avoided coming here for as long as I did. This place is great and I regret the hold off. Everyone in my group agreed the food was on point from start to finish. The only item to critique was the pretzel. It wasn't as good as other local spots. But honestly, everything else was so good that it didn't matter. Homemade mac and cheese bites were some of the best I've ever had. Wings cooked to perfection. Short rib sliders were really just perfect. The au jus used is awesome. This is the best place to get food in Patchouge. I've tried other places around and nothing compares. I love coming here with my friends and just have a good time hanging out. The trivia nights here are so fun and competitive too. I've even came to watch some hockey games before and I've spent many years of celebrating my birthday here with close friends. After today's visit to the tap room I feel compelled to write a review. I have been coming here for years. The tap room has always been my go to for excellent bar food, late night ANYTHING, and Sunday football. Today (Sunday football), I dropped my glass and cut my finger. Within 30 seconds a manager (maybe?) pulled me aside, cleaned my cut with peroxide and bandaged me up. I was blown away. Ready to cancel to my healthcare and come here with any ailment fo' real!! I've grown really fond of this little place. When I go it's usually not during crazy times, so seating is never an issue. However, when I have stopped in at a busy time the upstairs was open, which provided plenty of room. The food is great. I love the broccoli balls and the Mac and cheese bites. A Hidden gem. Came here with the family Saturday night looking for a relaxing bar/restaurant. Coming from Mt Sinai there are few places like this and its well worth the drive. Great food, wings, tacos, different burgers including the whiskey burger and mac n cheese burgers were all great. Steak panini and grilled vegetables sliders all exceptional. This newly opened bar in Patchogue is worth checking out as you drink your way from one end of Main St. to the other. They have 18 beers on tap; 6 of which come from Blue Point Brewery, and they have future plans for a "Blue Point Pint Club" where drinking BP beers will earn you "rewards" --I'm not sure what that means yet though. They serve standard pub fare (burgers, wings, etc.) and the kitchen is open til 3am! The crowd is what you'd expect for this area. (That's all I will say; you can make your own conclusions). Then by the time we asked for the bill, we were overcharged by $30+ and it took the waitress about 15 minutes before I could flag her down. It was finally gorgeous out this past weekend for the first time in what felt like approximately 27 months, so the only logical thing to do was day drink on a patio somewhere, amiright?? I'm not sure what the rest of the establishments in Patchogue were thinking having their patios closed (I'm talking to you, Perabell) but Tap Room stepped up. I'd been wanting to try Tap Room for a while now and I'm so glad I finally did. I'm not saying the visit was perfect & had the weather been shitty, I might have left with a whole different attitude, however, the sun was shining, the food was great & I had good company. Don't sweat the small stuff..... What "small stuff"? Well...the service. It was absolutely abysmal. I know it was busy, but it wasn't THAT busy. Every time we needed something (another beer when ours had been sitting empty for like 10 minutes - not an exaggeration) we had to practically put up flares to get the attention of our server who pretty much hated us. It wasn't the worst service I've ever had, but it was pretty terrible. I've done the job, so I sort of know what I'm talking about. But honestly, whatever. The SUN was out! Life was good. Let's talk about the food instead, cuz I just love food. We ordered the Crispy Dragon Chicken Wontons which were absolutely effing scrumptious. There wasn't too much going on inside the wonton besides shredded chicken, but the chili sauce, wasabi mayo and sriracha amped them up perfectly. I wanted 10 more of them. We also ordered the steak tacos and the grilled chicken avocado wrap. Both fairly standard dishes but executed really well. The avocado in the wrap was perfectly ripe and the fries were crunchy and yummy too. I did have to ask for an extra side of ranch because what they put in the wrap was a little skimpy (and keep in mind, they charge 75 cents for extra sauce, which is kind of ridiculous). The steak tacos weren't mine, but I wished they were. My friend really enjoyed them and they looked outstanding. I took a picture because food porn is my jam. I'll definitely be back. I'll definitely be ordering those dragon chicken wontons. I'll definitely be sitting outside on the patio day drinking in the sun....maybe the service will be better next time? It's not a deal breaker, but it would be nice. As long as I can have those wontons, I'll be a happy girl. read more

"The Tap Room," what a place. It's not your typical two floor bar. It backs a lot of attitude and hospitality. When I got there the place was packed! You could hardly move. I made my way to the back to find a few tables available. I took one and the waiter came over quickly. I purposely ate light because I knew I was coming here. I wasted no time ordering appetizers. Waiting for the food gave me time to look around. I loved the crowd. It was a mix of older and younger people. Everyone was eating and drinking, laughing and talking. It was a perfect environment for gathering. When the appetizers came out they looked amazing. I also bet they tasted good. I was right, they were delicious. What surprised me was the outstanding service. You didn't have just one server. Every employee comes to help the next. My glass was never empty, there was no mess on the table and the food came out on time. When it was time for the burgers, They were definitely cooked right. What I asked for I got. The bacon on my brothers burger tasted almost like smoked ham. It was tasty. My burger was covered in mushrooms cooked perfectly. I only wish they added more cheese to my burger. (Did i mention I love CHEESE!) The french fries were on point as well. They lightly seasoned them and they didn't seem to be overly greasy, it was the perfect diner. "Tap Room" is a well oiled machine. Since 2011 they have been a fixture in Patchogue. I definitely see them here for a long time. With beautiful waitresses, great food, and a wonderful atmosphere, it's a winning combination. I must return soon to try more menu items. I had my husbands surprise 40th birthday on the 2ed floor Saturday night. From the first email, Alona was so super nice, and always accommodating when I needed to come in for menus and payments. She was friendly, kind, and helpful. Tap room you are super luck to have her as a representative of you. Tap room has good food but I've gotten sick after eating there twice. My friend and I both got sick the day before our vacation which was horrible. The owner totally sucks and is very unprofessional as are the bartenders but the servers are always good. The only reason I'm still giving it three stars is because the tap room is a nice place to go hang out and although I've gotten sick I'll probably still take my chances eating there once in a while if I'm already there. Decided to treat myself to someplace new for my birthday. So I pulled up Yelp and Google to try random searches. I came across The Tap Room. It is a cozy place next to the village courthouse. BTW use the courthouse parking lot. I was promptly served by a very diligent waiter. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with fries and for an appetizer I ordered the Broccoli Balls. Let me tell you it all looked delicious. First I tried the Broccoli Balls and loved them. They are a broccoli and cheese blend balls that were battered and deep fried. A drizzle of southwest mayo on top, a marinara for dipping, and a fantastic start to the meal. The burger was made to perfection. I am not a tomato fan (tomatoes make me gag) so I probably should of said hold the tomato however I am glad I did not. When I went to remove the tomato I found the tomato was cubed and not just a slice stuck in there. This to me was a good sign. Any chef who takes the time to do this task for a burger is a chef that knows what he is doing. Though I still removed the tomato from my burger I did appreciate the job well done with that detail. I put my burger back together and took a bite and was happy with my decision to try this place. It was cooked to perfection as I ordered medium and got medium. The flavor was wonderful and not just a frozen patty on a bun. The mushrooms were fresh and not from a can or jar. The fries too were well seasoned and perfectly fried. Though I did feel someone was a little heavy handed with the salt on them and that is my only reason for 4 out 5 instead of 5 out of 5. A little less salt and it would have been perfection.
