Tap room has good food but I've gotten sick after eating there twice. My friend and I both got sick the day before our vacation which was horrible. The owner totally sucks and is very unprofessional as are the bartenders but the servers are always good. The only reason I'm still giving it three stars is because the tap room is a nice place to go hang out and although I've gotten sick I'll probably still take my chances eating there once in a while if I'm already there. Decided to treat myself to someplace new for my birthday. So I pulled up Yelp and Google to try random searches. I came across The Tap Room. It is a cozy place next to the village courthouse. BTW use the courthouse parking lot. I was promptly served by a very diligent waiter. I ordered a mushroom swiss burger with fries and for an appetizer I ordered the Broccoli Balls. Let me tell you it all looked delicious. First I tried the Broccoli Balls and loved them. They are a broccoli and cheese blend balls that were battered and deep fried. A drizzle of southwest mayo on top, a marinara for dipping, and a fantastic start to the meal. The burger was made to perfection. I am not a tomato fan (tomatoes make me gag) so I probably should of said hold the tomato however I am glad I did not. When I went to remove the tomato I found the tomato was cubed and not just a slice stuck in there. This to me was a good sign. Any chef who takes the time to do this task for a burger is a chef that knows what he is doing. Though I still removed the tomato from my burger I did appreciate the job well done with that detail. I put my burger back together and took a bite and was happy with my decision to try this place. It was cooked to perfection as I ordered medium and got medium. The flavor was wonderful and not just a frozen patty on a bun. The mushrooms were fresh and not from a can or jar. The fries too were well seasoned and perfectly fried. Though I did feel someone was a little heavy handed with the salt on them and that is my only reason for 4 out 5 instead of 5 out of 5. A little less salt and it would have been perfection. The waiter was very attentive and even some of the other staff asked how my food was. So great atmosphere, great food, and decent music playing in the background. Go to The Tap Room and enjoy... This place was AMAZING! I'm new to the area and this place had me feeling so happy after I ate. I ordered through Uber Eats and I had the steak sandwich which had a chipotle sauce and avocado. On a slow day you'll get great food and great service. I went once on a tuesday evening and the bartender was at tentative and friendly. I ate with a friend and the food was amazing. The place was really cute too. on a busy summer night and ordered an app, broccoli bites I think. I have to stand and hide along the wall in order for my food to not get knocked out of my hands. It was almost shame full. Close the kitchen if you cannot accommodate food orders. Also they don't take into account what a fire hazard it I'd to have some many people even in the building. Came here for lunch at this Patchogue bar/ grill spot. The whole meal was meh. Tried ordering some German beer but the taps weren't working. Luckily they had Stella on tap. Ordered boneless buffalo wings which were served sauceless. Ordered them medium hot and assumed they'd be in buffalo sauce. Nope... Asked for buffalo sauce on the side and was given a side of Tabasco. What ever. Ordered a burger and though the patty was very good and cooked perfectly medium, the bun was buttery, spongy and unpalatable. Service was okay until it started getting crazy busy so we gradually watched the staff go from friendly to grouchy. Prices are average, paid over $50 for lunch but beer was involved so... Not the greatest place to come but for a couple beers it's fine. read more

We came here for lunch with friends and had the best time ever! The manager Nikolai was so awesome and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in! My husband and I sat at the bar at first and our bartender Gabriella was amazing!! She makes the best drinks ever and even though they specialize in beer, she can make you whatever you want to drink. They do have a cocktail menu and anything that is on it Gabriella can not only make but she makes each one so delicious that you want to try them all! My husband had the buffalo wings while we were waiting and they were so delicious that when our friends arrived he ordered more so we could all eat them. We then went out to their beautiful outside patio and had our lunch out there. The trees all around made it feel secluded and like you were in your own private little spot. Our waitress was amazing and the food was awesome! I had the jalapeno poppers and they were so huge and so delicious... that could have been my meal! We also had the Strawberry Fields Salad, Tequila Lime Chicken Taco and Chicken Avocado wrap...all DELICIOUS!!! I recommend any or all of them :-) This place also has specials during the week, and a beautiful upstairs bar. We will definitely be back! I've been coming to this place for years now. I even met my fiancé there seven years ago. We decided to have our engagement party there as it felt super fitting and it was the greatest decision we made. We rented the second floor of the place for our party of 60 people and it was perfect. I was able to decorate how I wanted and to order all the food that we thought would be good for our guests. Our bartenders Claudio and Dominique were THE BEST!!! They were so attentive and friendly to our party. Claudio made sure as bride and groom to be we were enjoying ourselves and Dominique always made sure I had a drink in hand. Claudio made sure our dessert was placed in the refrigerator until ready to serve. This was key for us as our dessert was made by outside caterers. Service was much better here than their other location in massapequa! We came here on a Saturday night-it was not too crazy so we were able to sit down right away and order food and drinks. I stuck to my usual rum and Diet Coke as I didn't see anything of interested on the beer menu. We split a bunch of apps-disco fries, broccoli bites, fried Mac and cheese and fried pickles...basically fried food overload! I tried them all except the broccoli bites cuz I can't eat broccoli but what's not to love about fried Mac and cheese or pickles? Or fries in general! Everything was fab! One friend ordered the whiskey burger and said it was better than the jack Daniels sauce at Friday's-impressive! A burger lover myself, I may have to try this next time! NOTE: We went here on a SUNDAY afternoon. Sunday, y'all. I've always thought that Yelp should have different categories of "star reviews" instead of just one, and this place makes my point. There are so many different categories to rating a restaurant - not just how the food tastes. For example, The Tap Room. Is the food good? Why yes, yes it is. We ordered the "Tapchos" (Tap Room Nachos) - and they were delicious. The very friendly waitress told us it would "feed 13 people" - but my husband and I polished it off with room to spare. It comes served on a small wooden plank, maybe 8"x14" - definitely not enough to feed thirteen people (unless they each only took one tiny bite). We also ordered a Whiskey Burger and the Short Rib Sliders. Were they tasty? Why yes, yes they were. If I were giving stars for just the food alone, I'd probably give it four. But you see, there's more to a place than the food. Take ambience, for example. I know this is a bar, but holy cats, people - the inside of this place is SO LOUD that you can't hear yourself think. They had the TVs cranked up so loud that people have to scream to be heard over them, and then other people have to scream to be heard over the screaming people. It's just ten layers of WTF DID YOU SAY?!?! So we asked to sit outside. There's a nice little patio where you can enjoy outdoor eating. Too bad it was forty degrees out, and our fingers and toes were like icicles in no time. Then there were the other patrons. Outside on the patio was a group of bikers who sat there and got completely s^&tfaced, and then got up and got on their motorcycles and drove away, drunk as skunks. Like, stumbling, slurring, cellphone-dropping, clothes-are-unbuttoned-and-they-don't-realize-it drunk. It was horrifying. I love bikers, and motorcycles, so an establishment that serves patrons riding motorcycles until they are so drunk they are literally walking into walls is just not the kind of place I really want to give my money to. I waitressed for many years, so I know that yes, you can (and should, by law) cut people off when they've had too much. After realizing we were slowly freezing to death on the patio, we asked if we could move inside. The lovely, friendly waitress said that would be fine. See, if I was star rating this place on the service, it would definitely get five stars. We moved inside, where it was warmer, and had to scream at each other to have a conversation. Not fun. Since we couldn't talk, we watched a couple more completely ass-drunk people try to navigate a doorway (took them three tries to get through). The Tap Room folks didn't really think things through when they set up the layout of this place. If you're going to have a rowdy biker bar, then go for it and just leave off the food. If you're going to serve food, at least have a separate dining room - preferably with soundproof dividers. At the end of the day, I don't think I want to fork out $60 for nachos, a burger, sliders, and two beers. Not when I have to put up with screaming drunks at the same time. read more

Somehow I always get dragged to disastrous evenings of drunken, trashy crowds in Patchogue while being told it's as good as Long Island gets! I came here for dinner with very low expectations and was blown away. I loved the fish tacos I ordered - they were incredibly fresh. We got mac and cheese bites to start which were also very good. Service was pretty friendly, just a tad slow. If I ever get brought to Long Island again I'll come here to make up for any other trainwreck places I wind up.
