Bloody Mary was delicious, not too spicy with just the right amount of zing. Breakfast was tasty, eggs were cooked perfect. Moderate noise level, nothing too crazy. Had a very attentive server named Kim.

Typical airport lounge / restaurant. Good enough spot to kill time and have a drink - mine was a summer drink special, yummy but a bit pricey (about $20 for 1 drink). Sat at the bar and had attentive service and killed time with video gambling counter games.

Wow! 3 of us at the bar and the bartender started talking smack about another employee- degrading her about her skills- not cool. And he is too loud for his own good...he walked away from the bar, with a girl and left us unattended. Wow! Beer wise...Great Basin Ichthyosaur IPA- Elysian Space Dust IPA- few fun things, in the land where Sierra Nevada rules the taps. These are a nice change...too bad the service sucks.

Convenient location but that's its only plus. Cold, mediocre and overpriced food complete with nasty servers that have bad attitudes and actually lie. The server below right lied about leaving (to get us to close our tab). Seriously, she put her jacket on and walked out and circled right back to work like we would not notice. Earlier, the server on the left said "she didn't work at the bar" so she didn't know what they still had or offered. Asked for a menu and was rudely told it is what was on the sign outside--except no prices there. Another person came in and asked for the menu and they just said sure. Chicken nachos were cold and soggy. They also gave us a bacon grilled cheese instead of a blt. Totally worth walking further just to avoid this place.

Stopped by before a flight. The place was packed. Grabbed the last table for two. The game was on so that's why we went there. The bigger restaurant, near security, was totally full and had a waitlist. As soon as we sat down, we grabbed menus and waited. It took about 5-10 min for a waitress to come by. When she did, she welcomed us and said it would be an hour if we wanted food. We appreciated her honesty. I definitely had an hour so I told her we would get food. She too our drink orders - two black coffees and said she'd come back for our food order. It took awhile for her to come back. She dropped off iced waters to go for us. Nice! During the wait time, my brother went to the bar to ask that the third tv be changed to the game. That third tv is not part of the bar, but rather, the airport. So- keep that in mind when you're trying to watch the game. The place was not clearing out. Seemed everyone had a lot of time. We placed our order- Brussels sprouts and the pear Gorgonzola flat bread. It did take awhile for the food. She brought out silverware sets for us, without plates to share. That was a bummer but we didn't bother her. After all, we didn't want to wait more. So we dug in. The food was excellent. The coffee was also tasty. She was around to check on our food and coffee, as the place emptied out. The check came quickly after I asked, but it took a bit to get her attention; she was rushing to clean tables. Heads up- the red cushioned chairs to the left side of the restaurant are also part of the restaurant. There is a tv over there as well. So if the place looks packed, you can order food and drinks over there. It's owned by La Brea, so that's where the charge is from on your credit card. So- all in all- you will wait. They do work hard to help you. The food and drink is good. It's not overpriced.

11-18-2018...8:15a.m. I'm beginning to enjoy flight delays and lay overs, it gives me a chance to get my yelp on. Tap & Pour is located between gate C6 & C5 and has a nice view of the planes taxiing in and out of the airport. This morning my flight was delayed about an hour so I chilled here for a few Stellas before a quick flight to San Francisco. Plenty of seating around the bar, there is also patio style seating and tables to dine if you have the time to eat. Several t.v's to catch a few highlight or a game. Great customer service and a nice view

I ventured over to C gate to check out more breakfast options. I'm so glad I did! This place was moderately busy with only one server, but that didn't impact my service experience at all. The menu said breakfast ended at 10:30am, so I checked to make sure this was the case. My server said they could make omelettes all day. Yasss! I was in and out within 20 minutes. Great when you're in a hurry to catch a flight. The food was delicious. Super fresh veggies in my omelette. The hash browns were honestly the best I've ever had. What stood out to me was my server. She was always quick to take my order and follow up. She was also super sweet and friendly. Overall, I really liked the vibe and atmosphere. It has just been remodeled and the decor is modern-industrial. Make the trek to the end of c gate for this gem! Lots of beers on tap and delicious looking bloody Mary's.

I had the ketol one siracha Bloody Mary and boy was it hot!! The bartender recommended the Gorgonzola and pear flatbread and it was ok. Good presentation just not a lot of flavor. The aloha mule was yum if you like vodka instead of gin. Overall it was good and quick before my flight.

    Apps and drinks.

I left GSR and merged onto the freeway, drove about a mile, then exited for the airport. It was that quick. I drove up towards the terminals and there was ample parking. Although it says to keep moving, there appeared to be no rush. People were parking in the structure to the west and coming out of the doors of baggage claim to the east to waiting cars or taxis. My friend called and we figured out where he was from me. It was easier for me to stay put and for him to come to me. He had several bags and an airport baggage roller. Once he reached the outside curb where I was parked it was super easy to open up the doors to our SUV and get his bags inside. Back on the freeway for about a mile and we were at the GSR. From my experience, the airport is easily accessible and it's no trouble at all to pick up a friend who has flown in.

The security lines are usually quite short, it's usually 15 minutes or less every time I have gone through. once I was through security I made my way to the Southwest gate. It began in response to the deadly attack against the United States Naval Base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii Territory, on December 7, 1941. In 1942, the U.S. Army Air Corps started construction of the now clearly strategically located Reno Army Airport and Air Base. In 1951, the air base was renamed Stead Army Air Base to honor Nevada Native Lt. Croston Stead of the Nevada Air National Guard, who dies at age 27 on December 11, 1949, while training in a mock dog fight in a North American Aviation P-51 Mustang. The P-51 Mustang is an elegant American long-range, single-seat fighter and fighter-bomber used during World War II and the Korean War, among other conflicts. July 15, 1958, the 3635th Crew Training Wing was redesignated as the 3635th Flying Training Wing (Advanced), concurrent with the relocation of the USAF Helicopter Pilot School to Stead. The airbase served as the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command's Survival School, Flying Training Wing and Reno Air Defense Sector, a training center for some 80,000 U.S. Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, and foreign officers, as well as most of the pre-1965 NASA astronauts. The military officers attended classroom instruction on basic survival, evasion and escape. Their field training was to learn to survive with instructors simulating enemy trying to capture the students. The Survival classroom and field training lasted 15-21 days. In the 1960's inventor and promoter Bill Lear, founder of Lear Aviation and the Lear Jet, established operations at Stead which continued until the end of his life in 1978. In 1963, the U.S. Congress scheduled the base to close, along with 25 other military bases throughout the country. In 1966, the base was transferred to civilian ownership, and in June of 1966, it began operating as Reno-Stead Airport. In 1967, Maj. Robert E. Schricker, Purple Heart and Air Medal recipient, retired from a 27 year career as a USAF fighter pilot and became Chief Pilot for the AG Academy, now moved to Stead. Actress and air race pilot Susan Oliver, got her multi engine pilot license there in 1968. Susan Oliver played the female lead character Vina in "The Cage" (1964), which was the first pilot of Gene Roddenberry's then new show, Star Trek. The FAA Registry shows her to have earned commercial pilot ratings for airplane single engine land, airplane multiengine land, instrument airplane, and private privileges for glider. Here was the launch site of "Earthwinds" meteorological balloon system in the early 1990s, which attempted and failed multiple times to circumnavigate the globe. Since 1966, Reno-Stead Airport has been home to military operations including but not limited to Army Aviation Support Facility, and the 189th General Support Aviation Battalion of the Nevada Army National Guard, flying CH-47 Chinook helicopters. It is the birthplace of the Lear Fan, and home to the National Championship Air Races. It is home to several hundred tenants. It is home to U.S. Bureau of Land Management's Stead Air Attack Base aka Biggest Little Tanker Base aka Biggest Little Air Attack Tanker Base, that provides the required air support during regional wildfires. With Global Warming creating significant Climate Change, the importance and value of the Biggest Little Air Attack Tanker Base increases each year. On December 16, 2013, the new Reno-Stead Airport Terminal Building, The Freedom Flight Terminal which is dedicated to America's Veterans who Serve or have Served in the U.S. Armed Forces, opened to serve the General Aviation community. The two-story, 12,000 sq ft building provides an Emergency Operations Center, Administrative Office, Community Conference Room, a Pilot's Lounge, and a museum. The museum, named "Reno-Stead: A Proud History," has some 65 pieces of memorabilia and hundreds of photographs, collected from Service Members and their families. A video also depicts the training that took place at the survival school and pays tribute to the some 80,000 men and women who trained here. The museum is open to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. It is free of charge.
