This lounge/bar is so aestheticly beautiful and I love that's it's so easily accessible. And although I wish there was more lounging and less machines within the lounge, I can understand since it's in a casino. The problem is the the music, and for several reasons. The sound is always so underwhelming, especially when there's are a lot of people in the bar which happens after a concert is over at the Grand Theatre. As for the music itself, the entertainment and DJ (specifically R Suave) is always so dated and often repetitive. There's lots of DJs in Reno so changing it up would be nice. read more

Quality/Quantity - We end most, if not all, our nights here. GSR is still my favorite Reno Casino, even though the comps have really gone downhill and the waitress service when gambling is at 50% in getting service. The waitress service here is way better than the gambling area. It is smaller though. Atmosphere - I think it is a beautiful lounge. It gets a "face" life every now and then. The DJ gets moved around every now and then. Etc. Events and live music, DJ, etc; see website. Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar in the mornings. Saturday & Sunday: 9am-2am. Monday-Friday: 11am-2am. Service - Good. Price - Casino prices. Not sure if it is cheaper than the "free" drinks I get when gambling. I have not won $$ in a VERY long time, so I guess it is way less expensive recently. What a disappointment. Many years ago this lounge/bar was great. Of course it was a different name and vibe. Unfortunately I thought it might still be a cool place. It was not. There are many people that sit around the sitting area that are just waiting around for people from the casino and who knows where else. When we found a couple of seats, we waited for awhile before a cocktail server that obviously was working the casino floor hepled us. We should have just left before that. The bartenders are rude and the vibe is not it. My husband and I joked that we'd get better service if I had just gambled on the casino floor. Also, their website is inaccurate. There were two drinks that I asked for and the server looked shocked. She indicated that they haven't had those drinks in over 10 years. Literally, dafuq?! Of course I was confused and showed her on my phone their menu on their live GSR website (went to GSR, restaurants, menu, etc). She said it's old and not sure why it hasn't been changed. Lounge was great. Had a good time with friends here. Writing this review for the bartender Sara. Sara working since 2010. Horrible person. My friends and I ordered two rounds of shots, gave her tips and compliments. We wanted to order another round and that is when she decided to ID everyone. She should have checked everyone's ID when we first ordered, and I let her know that. I made a comment that I should call her manager due to her checking our IDs after the third time ordering AND Sara stated I will get you kicked out first. With that comment being said, I proceeded to call management and explain the situation. Vince and Edgar was helpful and apologetic. Sara on the other hand definitely should not be in customer service. Sara since 2010 should not be working there or she needs more training on attitude and slick comments like that. read more

After the very entertaining Steve Martin/Martin Short/Steep Canyon Rangers performance, our 4-some (me, Gayle, Mike, and Becca) stopped at the Crystal Lounge for our "after party". Actually, my after party lasted until 11 PM as I had just returned from Iceland, while the rest of them wrapped up sometime before 2 AM. I guess that's one of the timeless aspects within a casino. We needed to move a few chairs around, but we managed to find 4 very comfortable upholstered chairs to chat and relax over our adult beverages. My whisky sour was tasty, albeit a bit sweet. This lounge has a nice atmosphere that feels somewhat removed from the gambling action just "outside". One fun part is the people watching, especially the various shades of "dress up" couples either on a date or wishing they were. A Bruce Springsteen lyric kept racing through my head as I sneaked a peak during our conversations. Beyond the palace, hemi-powered drones Scream down the boulevard The girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors And the boys try to look so hard..... CUSTOMER SERVICE: 3/5 There were two bartenders, the one we got was a man who didn't seem to enjoy working that night. He barely made eye contact with us, placed our drinks and bill in front of us, left for a little, then came back when we had been calling for him for salt like we asked for initially. We still tipped him regardless. QUALITY & PRICE: 3/5 I barely remember, but I'm pretty sure it was about $8 for a shot of Jameson and about $10 for a shot of Patron. With the tip and all, it came out to about $20...for 2 shots. Crazy, but I guess that's normally how much drinks are at casinos yet I've seen a lot cheaper. We missed happy hour by just a few minutes, but still decided to grab a drink here before hitting the roulette & poker tables. We love this casino and have been staying and gambling here for a few years now. Plenty of activities available other than the casino and drinking area. P.S. While gambling, you get free drinks...and that's including hard liquor, wine, and mixed drinks. A little disappointed about the drinks at the Crystal Lounge. I went two days in a Row. The first day I had a "Cosmopolitan," and it was just ok. Not very flavorful and rather plain. The next day I had a "Margarita," and it was not good. We brought some friends to have drinks, and some had Tequila and whiskey shots. They did better than the ones who got the cocktails. I hate to see a beautiful lounge to be wasted, but they need to get their stuff together and train the bartenders or change the ingredients on the cocktail menu to make them better quality. Again, beautiful lounge, beautiful bar, but the drinks at least the cocktails are not good. You will be better off with a beer or a shot. read more

We really liked this little spot. Stopped in for a few drinks before seeing Kevin Hart. Emily was our server and she was sweet as could be. It wasn't super packed but there was a good flow and she still took great care of us. Drinks seems reasonable to me. My wine was poured almost to the top... so I was happy. The vibe is loungey with big comfy chairs and a nice bar with seating as well. We were able to bring food in to snack on too, so that was nice. Definitely will be back. read more

Chic and stylish, Wet recently opened and replaced the old 2500 East bar at the GSR, and it is a huge improvement. White marble, new carpet, and acrylic give the whole space a very modern and hip feel. The bar is lighted from both above and below and there is a stage for a band or DJ near the back. In the front, two waterfall fixtures flank the stairs of the main entrance which opens up onto the casino floor. The club also has private pods which are seperated from the main area with curtains. The furniture in the pods and on the main floor are pretty whismical, it definately gives the area a slick vibe. Natalie, the club hostess said we could use the private pods for a $100, they sit about six or eight people and she said the rate goes towards our drinks which is nice. The two nights we were there the DJ was pretty on it, and took requests. The dance floor was busy as well with high energy. One of the bartenders said there is a DJ or band there every night, which is good to know. They said on Fridays there are drink specials related to their First Friday Festival. What initially drew my attention to this lounge was how pretty it looked from the outside. My husband & I came by last night a little after 10pm. (Monday night) We decided to sit up at the bar & play keno on the machines. I noticed a female bartender who passed us by 4 times before barely glancing at us to let us know that she'd be right with us. The bartender never came back.. She began helping others who had arrived after we did. I don't know if it was because we are a young couple that she didn't think we were going to tip or what her deal was.. Anywhere we go, we ALWAYS tip 20% of the bill, as long as the service is there. We were hoping to get a few good drinks & relax there for a while, so we continued waiting & spent about 20 mins there playing on the machines before deciding to get up & walk to the other bar right across the way. Really wanted to like this lounge & become a regular here. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, the beauty of the lounge doesn't make up for the non existent service. Not sure if we will be back. This is our first stay at the GSR and is the first review that I have ever written for a bar. It has nothing to do with alcohol or ambience (although both were fine). We went to the Crystal Lounge while we were waiting to be called to a GSR restaurant for dinner. (No reservations, I had no idea that the GSR restaurants were so popular mid-week in mid-December...?) While we were waiting, my glucose levels started to drop (as a diabetic I thought the wine would have been enough) and I asked our bartender Wendy to bring me a few Maraschino cherries for a quick sugar boost, explaining my unusual request to her. She quickly brought over a small container of cherries. I consumed them and obtained the desired results (although I couldn't continue with my pinot griego for a while for obvious reasons). I didn't fully realize how much Wendy was now keeping an eye on me until (once the cherries were gone) she brought over another container of cherries!!! As a retired business owner, good service is very important to me. I would like to recognize the superior and caring service that Wendy provided to me and how much good will that small act of kindness has generated within me and my companions. Assuming that superior service is generally a reflection of good management, I am very impressed with the Grand Sierra Resort and will stay again in the future! read more

I am not sure I should give three stars or not but I am feeling generous. This 'Lounge' is right in the middle of the casino between grouping of slot machines, the keno lounge, a cafe and a poker bar, and a couple of tables. The walls are made of curtains with movable partitions on the outside. Seems like a feeble attempt to use up some floor space for something other than slot machines. On the night we went the place was pretty empty but it was early on a Saturday night about 10:00PM. I guess the hipsters and hot crowd come later. There were only a few areas to sit scattered about the floor and all were full. However, all around the edge were tables and seating that were empty. I asked one of the servers what that was about and she explained to me that I could 'buy' one. For $200 I could get a bottle of my choice (Vodka, Tequila, Gin, etc), all the mixers we wanted, personal table service, and security for our belongings for the evening. Since there were only four of us this did not make any sense at all. And neither did the price since there was no one there. Many people did not stay as there was no where to sit. Perhaps they should let people sit there until someone is willing to pay for extras? read more

All, you can drink for $20 on Thursdays!? Awesome. Just don't advertise that any real food comes with it. Be honest and say that there are pigs in a blanket, cheese and crackers, and coconut shrimp. This place is worth it if you drink your $20 worth, but if you're coming here to eat and drink, this is the wrong place. Not too many people were dancing on the Thursday I was here, and it was a convention weekend. read more

I have been staying at the GSR for over a year now, and I have always had great experiences at all the bars there. As a Epic player I have spent a lot of time at the different bars. I always receive great service from the bar tenders as well as the bar backs. I'm writing this review for one reason. There is a bartender that has always had a bad attitude with not just me, but with other customers I have seen at the bars she works at. Her name is Wendy Basallo she works at the Rendezvous bar most of the time, but I have had her as the bar tender at the crystal bar as well. Every time she is behind the bar she is very moody, and short with me. As well so the other customers. Her attitude is not something that I believe the GSR needs in the casino. I enjoy staying and playing at the GSR, and will continue staying there. It just sucks that one person can make the experience bad. read more

Came here for a few drinks and to relax. Tina was my bartender. She was fabulous. I asked her to recommend a drink and she recommended two amazing drinks I'm now hooked on. Ginger beer and Captain aka "dark & stormy" and Jameson with pickle juice as a back. Her personality was what kept me at the bar. Outstanding bartender, phenomenal service. They did a really good job redecorating this place which used to just be the 200 W 2nd or something odd. They have a stage area with live bands usually covers and nice lounge seating like in Vegas. It's open to the casino, so if they really want to make it more of a club, they should close off more walls or something. Since GSR doesn't have a nightclub, it would be a cheap way to create one here. The only bad thing is that they're understaffed when it's packed like on First Friday's so you have to wait a while for both waitress or bartender. First Friday is GSR's big carnival event where it will be most packed than any other day of the month. I'm impressed by what GSR is doing now and the direction they're going. Charlie Palmer is now more accessible without cutting quality. They have an awesome Latin restaurant with both empanadas and papusas. Where else can you get them both in Reno??? And great decor throughout the casino. Also, GSR, don't get rid of Mustangs, the only cowboy bar in town, seriously, and hire Jamie G back you moh-rons. read more

My husband and I went with friends. We stayed at the Grand Sierra Resort, which was really nice. We decided to watch the playoff games at the WET BAR and arrived early. We asked the waitress about the possibility of purchasing one of the reserved areas, she stated that the reserved seating was sold out and she pointed to a seating area for us behind the ropes. At kick off time KUMAR, the WET BAR manager moved the ropes and told us to move. We explained to him we spoke to his staff about sitting here and he, KUMAR said, No that was a mistake you will have to move. HE came back with security and we explained to security what we had encountered. Security did take our side and spoke to the upper management. But still does not pardon the way he treated us. KUMAR told his waitresses not to serve us. A few days later we wrote to management at the Grand Sierra Resort. They called us back saying they apologize. They spent all the upgrades in giving the place a new look, they need to invest that money on teaching KUMAR and management how to treat customers. We will not be patronizing that establishment again. read more
