Bartenders work hard and we prefer to tip in recognition of that. However, of all the bars we visited today, this was the only one we had to get pushy at for drinks. I don't want to have to shout at my bartender for their attention after I've been sitting to get a drink when literally no one else is ordering. I've spent months/years going to this place religiously. I likely won't be back. Please get your service to where it used to be. Not all your bartenders are this way. A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show.

Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!

There are no less than a dozen beers on tap at any given time as well as several bottle and can options. Plenty of TV's above the bar and Direct TV, so they get almost anything you are looking for. The bar slots seem to be pretty loose most of the time and although I rarely play video Keno, I have seen many people cash out hundreds of dollars on a fairly regular basis playing it. Now for the bad...It is a truck stop bar and that in itself is not a bad thing, but sometimes, well...Truckers can be a lot to take in. Also, you will come home smelling like smoke. I am a professional bar fly and I wouldn't step foot in that place. It went from a grungy bar to a biker bar to an ECV bar. It is currently under new ownership and looking to change that reputation a bit. My husband and I ventured in this weekend to see if it is turning around and it does appear to be doing so, slowly but surely. The entire place seems cleaner and the lighting seemed brighter although still appropriate for a bar. The demographic of the clientele is improving and the bar staff as friendly and attentive. They had a country bad playing when we went and the sound quality was great. Not to quiet yet not overpowering. Drink prices are not bad. They have two pool tables that were in use and quiet a few tables with chairs facing the stage most of which were also in use. The bar itself is pretty long with what I would guess is about 15 seats or so. My biggest gripe about the place is and always has been that they don't have any windows. It feels like you are drinking in a closed up room which you are but it makes it really easy to loose track of time, but I guess that really boils down to personal responsibility. We did notice that the front door as a window now, which is nice. I think new ownership can continue to turn the place around and I look forward to popping in every once and awhile and checking out the changes and increasing stars!
