Tap & Barrel is a convenient stop on your way through Wolcott to Bristol or from Bristol to Waterbury. The building that the Tap & Barrel exists in has seen many faces over the last 10 years. The Tap & Barrel has got to be the best outfit yet. I've stopped in there numerous times to inquire about live music in the fall and I was quite impressed with the set up. At night (pre-pandemic) the place was always packed. It was clean and decorated nicely. It had a very rustic decor. The staff was attentive and very helpful even though I didnt have plans those 2x to dine in. I didnt get a chance to try their food until the pandemic hit and they did delivery/takeout (maybe they always did?). My wife suggested it when she saw a post on a Wolcott town group on Facebook about them. I got an AWESOME burger with some crazy looking curled fries. The burger was probably one of the best burgers that I've had at a restaurant. It was juicy and the toppings complimented the flavor perfectly. The burger was sized well and I felt full after finishing the contents of the container. The person who delivered was very nice and was even apologetic about being late (although she wasnt). Looking forward to takeout from their again. I definetly recommend them for anyone driving through Wolcott. Hoping my 2nd time is just as good as my 1st time.

Let me start by saying the rustic ambiance of this place feels so home like. Service was fast considering it was packed for noon on a Friday. The food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend got the Tap & Barrel burger with fries. He absolutely loved it. I got the French dip sandwich with their Mac and cheese and couldn't be happier. Would totally recommend.

Definitely a great spot for a casual work lunch. The bourbon, burger, and sidewinder fries.

"Lay down, Sally, no need to leave so soon I've been trying…read moreall night long just to talk to you" (Eric Clapton) When I write reviews, more often than not, I visit the reviewee's website to see if there's any interesting nuggets in there. So, when I clicked into Sally's website, I was bowled over to see they now have SEVEN locations with ELEVEN more on the way, including Garden City, NY and Boca Raton, FL. That's pretty impressive. Sally's thin crust New Haven style pizza is a state treasure and I've always enjoyed it wherever I've had it. And today, I had a few slices of their fantastic pizza in a new location for us -inside the West Farms Mall near Jordan's Furniture of all places. Our lunch experience was great, starting with Bianca...our exceptional server. She was so outgoing and attentive, and checked back on us three times without ever being intrusive or an annoyance. We had a simple lunch, splitting a salad and a ten-inch pizza. The Wedge Salad ($14.75) was a big portion of three big iceberg lettuce wedges, charred tomato, Grana Padano cheese, crispy pepperoni, red onion, and a creamy Italian ranch dressing. We decided to skip the grilled bread croutons. What a nice salad! Super fresh lettuce, tasty tomatoes, a healthy sprinkle of pepperoni crisps that reminded me of crumbled bacon, and a great creamy dressing. Our 10" pizza (also $14.75) came with two toppings and we added meatballs and onions. It was thin crust New Haven style perfection. The sauce, the cheese, the cardboard thin crust, the toppings -everything was great. Late in our meal, a young father and his son came in and sat down in front of us. The boy seemed to be 5 or 6. Bianca impressed me again with the way she interacted with the boy, engaging him in conversation, and just being so nice and sweet with him. Well done, Bianca, Well done, Sally's.

It's a location was a bit weird since it was next to some furniture store in a mall. That being said, as soon as you go in itI felt like walking into a typical sports bar. They had some decent beers and drinks, and a giant screen. Service was really good! They were very attentive and we even asked about whether we can buy a slice of the clam pizza and they actually brought a full one out free of charge! Thank you food gods! Food overall was good! ++ Arancini's were excellent. They make them in house. Crispy yet not dried out. A slight kick to them probably the highlight of the meal. ++ Meatsa Pizza was our favorite of the 3 pies. Nice and thin but stacked with yummy meat. Perfect! + Caesar was good = Veggie pizza was ok. It was our healthy option. You could taste the crunch of the veggies but maybe needed a little more salt. = Clam Pizza was ok. I wish the clam had more clams. Overall really great place to go to for pizza and would recommend!

My son who lives in Maine has declared this to be his favorite CT pizza place ( yes, he has been to Pepe's and Modern) so we were so glad to be able to make reservations at this location for his recent visit. We arrived about 10 mins before the reservation and were soon seated, provided with menus, and drinks, orders taken. We ordered 3 pizzas, one large pepperoni and sausage, one small extra mozzarella and pepperoni, and one small tomato and mozzarella with garlic and 1/2 meatball. The pizzas came fast and tasted just as fantastic as they always do; nice char, great tasting sauce and cheese, and piping hot! This location's pizza is comparable to the NH location without the hassle of finding parking and waiting in an endless line. It might even make the pizza taste better! (No disrespect to the OG!》 The olive oil cake is amazing so take it to go if stuffed. You will thank yourself later. The service was great and we so enjoyed the whole experience. I had scoured Eater's New Haven section earlier that day and seen BAR mentioned for where to get apizza. We traveled into the quaint-ish New Haven core and parked on the street. Luckily, they had just opened, so we were seated upon arrival. We got two pies: the Clam Casino and the Portrait of New Haven. The PoNH was good. The ricotta was a nice contrast to the sausage and red peppers. The Clam Casino was worth the journey by itself, however. It turns out clams on a pizza is a great idea. Large whole clams and bacon with cherry peppers? Damned right. I wasn't familiar with New Haven brand ("apizza" as I've now been told), but the char on the bottom from the wood-fired oven is crucial at holding some topping combinations to a higher echelon than others (where it deflates others): see the other-worldly good Clam Casino versus this-could-be-better-without Portrait of New Haven. Regardless, the Clam Casino would be a go-to if I lived anywhere near here. The inside is huge. We sat in the main barroom. It was warehousey, but a pool table and picnic tables for large parties gave it a cool vibe. I enjoyed watching the bar staff have to hunch under the bar opening, which doesn't hinge up, as we waited for our discs 'o dough.
