Overall, had a really good experience at this Sally's Apizza location, but still prefer the dingy old school pizzeria feel of the original in New Haven. We came on a random Saturday and although we didn't have a reservation, they were able to accommodate out party of 3 (+ baby). The restaurant was surprisingly packed on such an unassuming Saturday afternoon, but I guess the pizza is just that good. The ambiance is classier than the original -- kind of a clean brewery aesthetic, which was pleasant, but made me worried the food wouldn't be as good; I shouldn't have had any concern, as the pizza was JUST as good. We went with: -The italian wings -A small basil burrata pie -A pie whose name escapes me, but it had italian sausage, ricotta cheese, and onions -Slice of cannoli pie The food was the right amount for 3 adults, just for reference. The italian wings were fine, a hint of heat if you can't handle it, though I wouldn't write home about. The basil burrata pie was good -- the sauce had really good sweet tomatoes without being overpowering, but the uneven distribution of burrata meant that some slices were sadder than others. I really loved the italian sausage/ricotta pie, I'm still thinking about it -- it was definitely the heavier of the two, but felt heartier. The only concern, that some other Yelpers have already noted, is that sometimes they get a bit carried away with the char, so expect some burnt black marks. The cannoli pie was definitely an indulgent treat, but you only live once, right?

Truth be told, we first tried out the original New Haven branch. We lined up for about 45 mins to be told that it was going to be another hour or so once seated for pizzas to be served. We then decided to head to the Stamford branch given the restaurant was taking reservations. We arrived at the Stamford branch at 8:30pm. The restaurant was still relatively full. Ordered 1 large original, 1 clam pizza, 1 pepperoni and one garlic bread. The garlic bread came out first and it was really nice, crunchy and garlicky. The pizzas came out next, piping hot straight from the oven. All were delicious and enjoyable however I don't think it warranted the wait at the original place. The pizzas itself were nice, and have a different base texture. Service wise - it was pretty slow. It took awhile for our pizzas to be served.

I've been wanting to try this Sally's location for some time. The service here is fast and friendly. We made a reservation before our movie and were seated right away. While the service was great our pizza was a little underwhelming. We ordered the Firebird specialty pizza which had chicken and peppers -- it was just okay. I did appreciate that our pie wasn't overly charred/burnt. However, we did enjoy our Caesar salad.

I grew up on Sally's on Wooster in New Haven, so I am judging Sally's Stamford location with extraordinarily high expectation. While NH is old school and bare bones, Stamford is a big modern space with a menu that is expanded to include many appetizers and non pizza items. Service was good and friendly. The apps were outstanding: light & flavorful meatballs, delicious grilled broccolini, and a wonderful chopped salad. Sadly no pix as we deleted the apps in record time. The pizza was very good, but sadly not at the same level as New Haven. The crust, while thin and with zero flop, does not have the same wonderful flavor...it is kind of bland. And the potato pie was a big disappointment. But the shrimp scampi pie was a real treat, with fresh sweet shrimp. And the other traditional pies were all very good.

Some of the best pizza I've had in Connecticut! New Haven style never fails. My girlfriend I stopped by for lunch to end off our trip in Stamford- we had a lovely/delicious time. The service was great and we got our food relatively fast as it wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday for lunch. We started off with a Caesar salad, which was one of the best I've ever had- chock loaded with dressing, Parmesan cheese, and pickled onions. I've never had Caesar salad with pickled onions before, but it was an absolute game changer. For our pizza, we ordered the Calabrian stinger special which came with spicy salami, hot honey, halloumi, pecorino, and peppers. It was absolutely amazing. Such an incredible contrast between sweet and spicy, and the New Haven thin crust was to die for. We absolutely devoured our lunch and left feeling super satisfied. We will absolutely be back when we visit!

The pizza is so, so good. Love the meatballs and salads. Good cocktails. Cute and cozy space. But more importantly, the management and staff is so beyond kind. We had lunch there today, it was a very rough day for us, and they went above and beyond. I will never forget it and will be back often.

So delicious! We arrived a little after 6PM and the place was pretty busy. We did not wait more than 5 minutes. The service was friendly and prompt. We really enjoyed our appetizers and pizzas, I want to go back and try the specialty pizzas. Great for family, groups or date. Well worth the drive from Hicksville.

We were told that while in the Stamford area, Sally's was a must do pizza place for true Connecticut style pizza. Joined some friends at the bar, and we ordered a couple of cocktails, a salad, some wings and a 12" pizza - each of which was great. I think perhaps Frank Pepe's might be better than Sally's? It's close. The dough was a little tough for me, but it had a nice char from the oven. The wings were the standout though. Crispy, that same char, with a sauce that tasted like Thai chili sauce mixed with chopped Calabrian chili's served with a little creamy ranch style sauce. Fantastic. I'd agree that if you are in Stamford, plan on making a stop here.

Giving this place 3 starts strictly because everything was spicy which wasn't expected. I had just arrived in town off the Amtrak train so I was starving! Service was great and the establishment is beautiful and has a great aesthetic. I ordered chicken Parmesan and a small cheese pizza. The sauce has a spice to it that I did not care for. Maybe this is their signature but I do think it'd would've been great to be aware of this, as I would have opted for something other than the red sauce. The hostess was friendly and the bathroom was nice and clean, which I truly appreciate.

Check out this spot if you're in Stamford especially if you never had Apizza. Not as good as the New Haven Apizza but downtown Stamford is much nicer than New Haven. Decor was more modern than expected. Server gave a great recommendation added bacon to the clam pie. Absolutely try the clam pie, extremely special. Granted every topping you can get is probably great.

Connecticut staple. I definitely like this place more than Pepe's that's for sure. Their mocktails aren't bad, and the pizza is the only reason I keep coming back (obviously). Service is hit or miss - can be very slow or sometimes can be great. The vibes are definitely loud and fun- great for big groups. In the back there's more seating that's a little quieter, so that's a plus. I feel like this place is very very overrated and overpriced for no reason other than it being famous in CT, but their pizza is just good enough to still get it once in awhile!

So grateful to be living in a state with great pizzas! We are the pizza capital after all. Sally's Apizza is a known local spot known for its classic New Haven-style thin-crust pizza. We ordered the Calabrian stinger, which had a perfectly crispy yet chewy crust, no flop, flavorful tomato sauce, and it was spicy, yet addictive. The atmosphere makes it a great place for a casual pizza night with friendly service. I'm looking forward to going back. It's the top 3 for me next to Modern Pizza and Colony.

The trio and their families all live in Greenwich. Collectively, they were all sick of taking their families out to dinner and the bill adding up to hundreds of dollars. They also realized that Greenwich was one of the few towns in Connecticut that didn't have a brewery. The business partners made it their mission to open their own family-friendly brewpub where consumers could get good craft beer as well as quality food that didn't break the bank. When a space previously home to LobsterCraft became available, the partners jumped at the chance to move in. I recently visited Greenwich Brewing Company for the first time. I was heading to a concert nearby, so I thought I would stop in a grab some beers and bites for a pre-show dinner. I noticed right away that GBC has a nautical theme. The logo features an anchor, and the entrance wall features the name of the brewpub spelled out in nautical flags. The place is a little on the smaller side, cozy and inviting; there's seating for about 52 customers. I pulled up a seat at the bar and looked over the menu. Some of the staff informed me that they were celebrating their one-year anniversary and had some menu specials. To drink, I ordered a sampler flight that featured "Day Sailing" (Strawberry Lemonade Sour), "Oktoberfest" (Märzen), "Hop Anchor" (New England IPA), and "Catamaranic" (Hazy Double IPA). My favorite of the flight was the Oktoberfest, and I ordered a full pour afterwards. I also noticed that there were no beer tanks anywhere to be found on the premises. A staff member informed me that all beer is currently brewed off-site. They hope to move to a larger location in the future where brewing can be done in-house. Overall, GBC's beer is ok. It's their food menu, however, where they really shine. I first started off with some delicious "Toasted Pretzel Logs" (w/ Cardinal Red beer cheese sauce & stone ground mustard). Then I finished with the "Hot Honey Chicken" (2 tenders, hot honey drizzle, shredded mustard slaw, pimento cheese, on a roll, served w/ fries). It was phenomenal! My only complaint was that the bun was a little too small; it was no match for those massive tenders. I ended up eating most of it with a knife and fork as it fell apart. That aside, it was a delicious sandwich! If you're looking for an affordable, family-friendly place in Greenwich to grab some good beers and bites, then head to GBC!
