An old school pizza joint in Stanford that makes thin crust pizzas with toppings to your liking. Although they got my order slightly wrong, there was a nice crunch to the pizza with the hot oil/stingers adding a slight kick to it. A nice glass of Guinness and pizza - what could go wrong?!

Colony Grill was definitely on my list for quite some time if I ever made my way to Connecticut. After seeing them on barstool sports, I just had to try it. The staff was very nice and welcoming and everything came out super fast but also super fresh. The pizza came out very quickly piping hot with a beautiful crust that perfect thin crust pizza you are looking for it's at colony Grill. Very light on the sauce and the perfect amount of cheese to crust ratio And the price is fantastic. Another aspect of colony Grill is the interior the vibe you get when you walk in the walls are filled pictures of soldiers and locals the walls at colony Grill. Tell you a story and give you some of its history. It was my first experience with this Connecticut style pizza, but it definitely won't be the last. I'm glad colony Grill was my introduction to the style of pizza, it was a perfect introduction

"ABC, easy as One, two, three As simple as. do re mi ABC, one, two, three, baby, you and me" (Jackson 5) Ordering food is pretty easy and simple if you take a seat in a tavern with only three food choices! Take your pick of a cheese pizza, a breakfast pizza (Bacon or sausage, egg & cheese), or a salad pizza (hearty mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers & carrots; tossed with balsamic vinaigrette). I guess technically there are more than three choices because you can add Hot Oil, Pepperoni, Sausage, Meatball, Mushroom, Black Olive, Onion, Bacon, Cherry Peppers, Stinger Peppers, Sweet Peppers, and/or Anchovy to your pizza. But you get the picture -- not a platter of wings, basket of mozzarella sticks, double cheeseburger, or tin of baked ziti in sight here. Our lunch at Stamford's Colony Grill was terrific. We took a booth in the bar area and watched a non-stop parade of customers coming in to pick up their pizzas to go. Our server was cheerful and friendly, and fun to interact with. Pizzas come in one size - probably closest to what you would call a medium with six slices. My brother ordered a cheese pizza ($11.95) and I did the same but added on meatballs an onion ($1.95 each). Their pizza is advertised as "bar pizza" but it was unlike any bar pizza I ever had. The crust is microscopically thin, about the thickness of a piece of thin cardboard and halfway between soft and crunchy- really quite excellent with a nice balance between their sauce and cheese. My meatball and onion surcharges were fair for the servings and price. I took four of my six slices home, and we made two dinners out of them, so $16 for three servings of excellent pizza made for a very good value. Colony Grill has nine locations, with four in southern Connecticut, two in Florida, and one in New York, Maryland, and Virginia.

Went on a Thursday night and it was packed. The parking lot is super tight when full so just have to be careful when parking Got seated right away and it took about 30 min for the pizza to come out (the waitress had given us a heads up that it would take 30-40 min since it was a busy night). We ordered the hot oil pizza and a pepper and onion pizza. Both were fantastic in flavor and crunch. I was pleasantly surprised that even though it was such a paper thin pizza, it held the weight of peppers and onions really well! Highly recommend! Great service and great food.

Cheese pizza with a side oh "hot oil"

I wouldn't call this ultra thin pizza by any means as I've had thinner - but this was great hew haven style pizza. Crispy but could fold, nice crunch with the bite...cheesy, flavorful with enough tartness to balance the cheese and the perfect char. We did get a side of the hot oil - but it's just pepperoncini oil and it didn't need it. I would definitely get it again

Tried the Hot Oil and the Breakfast pie today. Personally, I find it a bit tedious that bacon isn't automatically included on the Breakfast pie -- when things get busy, I forget to add it, and it's just not the same without! That said, overall this is a solid spot if you're a fan of thin-crust pies.

In pictures the pizza doesn't look like much but wow is that deceiving. The sausage pizza was fabulous. It is thin and crispy and pairs nicely with a side of hot oil. The hot oil isn't too hot either. I could eat the whole thing easily. Although it is thin, the pizza still holds its structural integrity well. I would come back whenever I am in the area.

Best bar-style pizza hands down. Can never go wrong with Colony. Thin, crispy, perfectly charred - and if you love spice get hot oil and/or stingers on your pie. Take out or dine in are both great - you can't miss with Colony

My husband and I used to love Colony Grill. Now that we have a newborn, we've tried delivery since dining in is more challenging. 2 times in the past month we have received ice cold pizzas. Tonight, we received the wrong pizza - onion instead of sausage / stingers. My husband can't eat onions. When I called colony grill, they said not their problem. Uber gave us a 5 dollar credit for the topping change.. Come on, do better. Customer service - where you at?

I'd read about this location online and a lot of people left reviews stating I should check it out. I was on a layover and while hanging at the hotel, I decided that I really wanted some pizza and Colony Grill kept popping up. I had seen a couple of other locations that stated that they did hot oil, but Colony was supposed to be the originator, so I decided to check it out . I ordered a large pepperoni pizza with hot oil, including the pepper. I took a bite of the pepper when I got the pizza and it was far too hot for me LOL, but the hot oil made the pepperonis taste really good! And even though it took about 45 minutes for the pizza to arrive, it came feeling fresh out of the oven, and it was super delicious. I ate half in the first hour, waited a couple hours and ate the rest by myself (so I didn't seem greedy lol) it was super good and I will return.

Oh colony, oh colony how much I love colony pizza! This was my first time at the OG COLONY PIZZA!!! Went in August and right away was seated. I love the half chili oil, half cheese. Definitely would go this route if you have never had their chili oil before, it's spicy but definitely is a great spin on the traditional cheese pizza. Prices were affordable and the service was great! I'll be back!

The white clam pizza delivers a punch of clams, garlic, and cheese on that signature thin, char-charred New Haven-style crust -- garlicky, salty, and utterly memorable. It's the pie people seek out when they make a pilgrimage to Frank Pepe's, and some say it's the best pizza they've had in years. The clams are generous and fresh-tasting, the crust is crisp yet chewy, and every bite feels like a perfect balance of sea and oven fire. For seafood lovers and adventurous eaters, this is the pie to order -- bold, classic, and worth the hype. Margherita Pizza -- Simple, Fresh, and my son loved it. While the clam pizza steals a lot of the spotlight, the margherita and original tomato pies are also beloved. The margherita is beautifully simple: ripe tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil with that same irresistible coal-oven char on the crust. It's not as brash as the clam pie, but it's an excellent showcase of quality ingredients done right. Red-sauce traditionalists especially appreciate how Pepe's tomato-forward pies complement the zingier clam slice, making them great to share with a group

The clams were fresh, the crust had that signature char and chew, and I didn't miss the tomato sauce for a second. Judging from nearby tables, though, the red pies are every bit as popular. We grabbed seats at the bar, and that turned out to be part of the fun. The bartender was fantastic and even shared the secret to a perfect Whiskey Sour: dry shake the whiskey, lemon juice, and egg white first to build that silky foam, then add ice and shake again. She also noted that aquafaba--the liquid from canned chickpeas--can create a similar effect for vegan or egg-free drinkers. The cocktail arrived beautifully presented with a real Luxardo cherry and was as good as any craft cocktail I've had - which is sayin' something LOL! We still ordered food (terrible decision), waited 20 minutes...now here comes the fun! A group of 5-6 walks in, seemed notably surprised at how full the place is, says that they should have made a reservation, and proceeds to ask for table service. My husband and I were sitting at the end of a six-seater table when we walked in, which we were guided to by the waiter right away because apparently it was available. A few minutes after the group walked in and asks for table service, a guy (supposedly a supervisor) asks us to get up from the table, saying that this table was reserved for a group of five and the waiter made a mistake by telling us it was available. It was clear from the time the group walked in they did not have a reservation. Regardless, we got up, proceeded to walk to a "table" which was a crappy fold up placed only several feet from the stage where live music was being played. Aside from the fact that they clearly just put the table there just to have somewhere to move us, my husband is hard of hearing with sensitive hearing aids, and he can't be seated right next to amplified live music. I told the "supervisor" who moved us this fact, and he said the only other option would be to sit outside. We were moved outside - it was almost about to start pouring, we were seated at a similar crappy fold up table, and no coverage over the table. Lo and behold, our food comes out over 25 min after ordering to this crappy shaky table that's about to get rained on. The kindest employee sitting outside overhears my complaints, tries to remedy the situation by going inside, and then calling people to help. Honestly, he didn't have to do anything, and his kindness is the only good thing I can note about this experience. I guess the guy he was speaking to on the phone didn't realize he was on speaker and I heard him ask the kind employee where the customers (we) were from, and whether we were young or WHITE - which is a separate issue all together! In the end, the waiter came out and apologized (not the person who asked us to move), offered us free cocktails and desserts. But, we just asked for the food to be boxed up so we could leave before it started raining. TLDR: we were kicked out of our table to an outside table in crappy weather for a bigger group that came in after waiting 20+ minutes for our food
