A classic spot for solid Greek pizza! It's a neighborhood gem that had a packed parking lot when we visited on a Thursday night, and for good reason. All of the food arrived quickly to our table, and everything was delicious. Generous portion sizes at reasonable prices. We loved the chicken souvlaki platter, wings, and baklava too. Would definitely come back!

Pork souvlaki and carafe of Merlot. Very generous portion.

Whaaaat???? First time here and this place is awesome. I came here after reading all the reviews and craving some Greek specialties. I started with the traditional Greek salad (added some anchovies), then had the flavorful, tender and tasty ass and generous portion of pork souvlaki (only $10.50), which was crazy good. I also ordered a carafe of Woodbridge Merlot (only $16). The server "Shpresa" was a total sweetheart and made the best recommendations. I've been to some expensive local area Greek restaurants (won't name them here) and the prices are are double, with only mediocre food. Get to this place now and quick. It's nothing of a fancy place, but I want great food over decor and crazy prices. You'll be glad you came. By the way, I'm still sitting here as I write this review :-). I will be back next time for the pizza, which I hear blows away all the other pizza joints in the area.

    Original with pepperoncini

My rating is dependent on the quality, taste, and freshness. You cannot compare this with italian pizza, they are two separate things. The fieryness of the pepperoncini and the cheese was spot on. They had long lines out the door and it was understandable. Don't buy their aglio e olio pasta, it was below average and didn't make sense. The jalapenos were flat in flavor, but it wasn't bad with chicken and pineapple on a large original. I really hope to sit down and have their pizzas fresh, as I'm sure it's much different when piping hot. Will be back to critique more!

Crispy crust, great sauce and toppings, always cooked to perfection. Local family owned place that's been there since I was a kid.

Good pizza, good service. Wait staff very friendly. Turnover is pretty quick so you usually don't have to wait for a table.

I heard a rumor that this restaurant is permanently closed? Say it isn't so!

Just a rumor. Restaurant is open as usual. We are closed on Mondays now. Maybe that is causing some of the confusion.

Definitely appreciate the staff recommendations on portion sizes, plates to share for the table, and wine pairings. Would come back again for sure, as they have an extensive list of options to try. Great spot within walking distance of downtown Stamford hotels.

Meanwhile some white diners came in, and they hurriedly ushered them smiling to a table. Didn't give us menus (but gave menus to all diners that came in after us) until I flagged someone down for them. I watched them give complimentary bread and sauce to every other table except ours. I had to interrupt one waiter to ask about it and he shrugged me off, not even stopping to look at me, and muttered he'd get it. He got us bread but not the sauce, I had to ask him if it comes with the bread he said no. Later I asked another diner if it was complimentary, he said yes. It's unbelievable, we spent more than 100$ here to be treated like beggars. I would suggest any POC stay away; we were made to feel incredibly unwelcome and uncomfortable. On the other hand, the food was barely mid. The veal was so tough it was like eating rubber. In the end we couldn't finish it because it just wasn't good. I am not even sure if perhaps on purpose they gave us expired food because afterwards my friend and I both got upset stomachs. If you must be in Stamford you should take your business elsewhere, perhaps dont support a racist establishment.

Must be under new ownership or at least new cooks in the kitchen, judging by the change in quality and taste of the food. The people in the kitchen seemed to be primarily Spanish-speaking. Ordered the chicken kebab wrap and schwafel. Chicken was very dry and drowned in sauce that tasted more like mayo than tahini. They were kind enough to make me a new one after seeing that I was picking at the wrap and the cook explained that chicken breast in the kebab is usually dry. Funny - it wasn't this dry the many times I've had it before. The kebab also lacked the flavor and spice that it had previously. The wrap itself was also thin, dry and unpleasant. They used to use a flour wrap which I think they changed to something akin to cardboard. The scwafel wrap was also very dry. The seating area is small but the workers are very nice and keep it relatively clean. Prices have crept up, as they have everywhere. Given the decline in taste and quality and increase in price, I cannot justify going back to Layla's. The end of an era. I wish they would bring the previous owners/or at least teach the new crew how to make a proper kebab.

The recent expansion into the neighboring space really opened things up with plenty of seating without sacrificing energy. Noise level was balanced, lively but still easy to talk. Free parking lot with ample spaces makes it effortless. We started with a Horiatiki salad and their signature triangles of warm pita with Greek olives -- a simple touch they consistently get right. I ordered the Meraki Passion Platter, while my wife had the butterflied branzino with Patates Tiganites. The homemade round fries are addictive - thin fries with a crisp outside. Portions are generous without being excessive. Service was polished and familiar; we've seen many of the same staff over the years, which says a lot. Dishes were cleared promptly and everything felt well-paced. Extremely clean throughout. This place continues to deliver. We highly recommended.

I love how they really sliced the lettuce finely, I hate shoveling a tree branch in my mouth when I'm eating a salad. I also felt like the ingredients were super fresh. I do need to stop ordering tomatoes, I don't like them and never will. That feta cheese? Holy shit. Where do Greek places get feta cheese? it's like a different breed than anything I've ever bought for myself. I also ordered hummus and I'm not sure whether the hummus came with pita or the salad but they provided a literal dinner portion of food portion-size of pre-sliced pita. Some of it was a lil soggy, I wonder if they warmed it up and it was steaming in there? Not sure what else could have occurred there but it crisped up nicely in the oven. The hummus was also delicious. It was what I would expect from a Mediterranean place. GF ordered some sardine entree business, greens, and mashed potatoes. "It was good" she says. I snuck a forkful of mashed potatoes last night and they were very good. I'm a fan of this place.
