Service good but bowl had very little fresh fruit - very hard chunks and definitely looked like canned fruit

Must be under new ownership or at least new cooks in the kitchen, judging by the change in quality and taste of the food. The people in the kitchen seemed to be primarily Spanish-speaking. Ordered the chicken kebab wrap and schwafel. Chicken was very dry and drowned in sauce that tasted more like mayo than tahini. They were kind enough to make me a new one after seeing that I was picking at the wrap and the cook explained that chicken breast in the kebab is usually dry. Funny - it wasn't this dry the many times I've had it before. The kebab also lacked the flavor and spice that it had previously. The wrap itself was also thin, dry and unpleasant. They used to use a flour wrap which I think they changed to something akin to cardboard. The scwafel wrap was also very dry. The seating area is small but the workers are very nice and keep it relatively clean. Prices have crept up, as they have everywhere. Given the decline in taste and quality and increase in price, I cannot justify going back to Layla's. The end of an era. I wish they would bring the previous owners/or at least teach the new crew how to make a proper kebab.

I go there at least once a week and I have my favorites, right now I'm locked in on a chicken Cutlet with cheddar cheese on a buttered wedge. The sandwich is huge and every bite delectable. It feels hidden in the sense that you could drive right past it and miss it, but once you find it, it is absolutely worth it. There is parking out front which is a plus. Inside, it is exactly what you would expect from a classic mom and pop Italian deli. Small, warm, welcoming, decently lit, and clean. They also have a huge menu with tons of options, not even counting everything available at the deli counter. I took my time looking over the menu and the staff was patient while I decided. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese with black pepper on a wedge and a bacon, egg, and cheese lightly toasted on white bread. The wedge was the highlight. Big portion, very filling, and everything tasted fresh and high quality. It was cooked and put together really well. My only small critique is that the bread was very soft and the eggs were falling out a bit, but I also did not ask for it toasted so that may be on me. The bacon, egg, and cheese on white bread was good as well. The only downside was that it was very lightly toasted, almost not toasted at all, and it used bacon pieces instead of strips. Overall, this is an excellent local deli with quality food, generous portions, and a welcoming feel. I would definitely recommend stopping by, and I will absolutely be back.

It was a very hot humid Friday at noon and there was a L-O-N-G line. This means that the business is worth visiting. The meal selection is huge, so I stepped aside to read through the menu. There were so many sandwiches that I would have wanted to try! When I finally got up to the window to place my order, I noticed that the worker addressed many customers by name. The regulars seemed to have their favorite sandwiches memorized by number so I knew this place HAD to be good. My son selected #45 Chicken Cutlet Pannini but he chose no cheese. Chicken Cutlet, Melted Fresh Mozzarella Cheese, Arugula, Roasted Red Peppers, Sun-Dried Tomatoes & Lite Vinaigrette Dressing Grilled on Ciabatta". The order smelled so good that I was tempted to nibble some of his paninni in the car. The photos do not do justice to the order. It was grilled to perfection. Lucky for me, my son "saved" me a piece so that I could taste it. And, it was yummy! The seasoning and roasted peppers were tasty, the cutlet was delicious and the grilled bread was exceptional. Obviously, this will be our new "go to" place in New Canaan. Highly recommend buying lunch from here.

Enzo's did an amazing job putting together a catering platter for 25 of my coworkers - I ordered 3 platters of the mixed sandwiches and wraps... there were at least 10 different assortments on the platters, it was amazing. Ham, turkey, various types of chicken - deli chicken, grilled chicken, chicken cutlet - eggplant and mozz, prosciutto, etc. Some were on breads, some were on wraps, with various types of breads and wraps... everyone found something that they loved, it felt like you could have customized your order. Fantastic selection, not a lazy make of the same 3 sandwiches. I also ordered a two platters of the two different pasta salads - the small is very big! The tortellini was delicious and so was the farfelle pasta salad... perfectly cooked pasta and delicious fresh cheeses and pesto. I was able to pick up my order (they also deliver) and put everything out without another thought... they thought of everything.. the sandwich condiments, the plates and napkins, the salad dressing and serving utensils. It was such a pleasure - and priced very well. I would definitely suggest Enzo's to cater - they have lots of other options too! Chicken dishes, pasta dishes, antipastos, everything!

Totaling to $4.50. And or course someone making it for you ok. Two and a half dozen eggs are $7.49, half a pound of ham is less than $6 not for boars head obviously I mean come on, the math is not adding up especially when I'm getting a product like this...in the picture the other half, you can't even see any Ham. Head to Fusaro deli down the road for same price and more enthusiastic service and way better sandwiches. This is my search, and my money spent for the right breakfast sandwich, and I rightfully earned my opinion.
