I ordered the chicken caprese salad and was a bit disappointed. The proportions of toppings were completely off. Barely any chicken, yet tons of tomatoes and breadcrumbs. I also didn't love that they mixed up the salad for me, I would have rather done that on my own but not a big deal. For the price, it just seems outrageous for a small salad. If I come back, I'll order another salad because these flavors weren't anything outstanding. Regardless, the spinach seemed very fresh and the service was good. Picked up Take out order at 6 pm in an empty store and nobody greeted us for 3 min. Counter crew spoke no English. My wife says "It's a bit better than Chipotle"... but that's a pretty low bar. Do not under any circumstances order kids meals here. I can't even explain how awful it looks. So here is what is advertised on their app versus what we actually got (Mini Mezze meal where my kid ordered apples instead of cucumbers). Coworker and I ordered lunch online from sweet green today. I chose a custom bowl. The lentils seemed to have some hard shell coverings and the blackened chicken still had fat and gristle on it. I also found an end of a Romaine lettuce in the bottom of the bowl. While the ingredients say "best" ingredients there is zero talk or organic etc. The ingredients were light on the add ins and the bowl was mainly filled with lettuce. Coworker had the hummus crunch bowl and the basil was black and wilted and again way light on the ingredients. Service took forever to get order to me at the pick up window (my estimated time for pick up was off by 15 min +). Inside the restaurant seems clean and crisp. The take out containers seem environmentally friendly. Very disappointed in my salad and the service I received today. First off my salad was very dry, I asked for oil and vinegar. The oil jar was basically empty and they didn't even take the time to refill the oil. They gave me what was left in the bottle which was like a drop. I asked for quinoa on my salad, it took about 5 minutes for them to find out if I could "have" quinoa on my salad. I said I will obviously pay for it if its extra. I used to love going to SG in the City, but this one in Darien is poor run that my orders are like Russian Roulette. About half the times our orders were prepared Incorrectly like the last time we ordered Miso Salmon with warm sweet potatoes - the fish was there but missing sweet potatoes on both our orders even though we paid for it. That's was not too bad an instance, we also experienced where the fish was MIA. And, trying to contact them via the app is waste of time - it's like talking to a wall - not even a robot! We just gave up -- why keep paying those exorbitant prices where the staffs are not trained properly. read more

We've never had an issue with the Sweetgreens in Manhattan and the few times I've gone to this one it was OK. However this last time I ordered the Miso Glazed Salmon bowl and in 30 minutes time I started feeling ill and by two hours had that that desperate feeling of needing a bathroom asap. Nothing tasted noticeably off, but it doesn't have to off to cause food poisoning. Staff needs training on proper food handling! read more

Stop skimping on dressings! Anyone with a basic sense of proportions, can see that the amount of dressing given could never cover the salad size. This is a company who is in the business of selling salad but chooses to save money on a giving an extra couple tablespoons of dressing. Pretty pathetic read more

I have never had an issue with Sweetgreen in nyc. I ordered here once and I was delivered someone else's order of the same name. The order numbers cleat didn't match. I reorder because I couldn't eat what was delivered. The new order had 1/3 of the ingredients I asked for and paying full price for an incomplete dish is poor customer experience. I have been going to Sweetgreens in Manhattan for years, one of my favorite lunch spots. Not so in Darien. This is my fifth and probably last attempt in going to sweetgreens in Darien. I get the same custom bowl every time via the app for takeout. Two out of five times I didn't get the avocado I paid extra for. The portions are skimpy, much less than in NYC. Today's salad was mush. There was so much dressing on it that it was like eating a bowl of soggy day old salad. I can't even tell if there was goat cheese and avocado on it because everything was liquified. I was excited when you opened and I want to love going here but I am just so disappointed. read more
