The waiter said, "We're closed," and immediately turned his back to me. Not "Sorry, we're closed." Just "We're closed," and I got his back. I looked around the room at all the people eating and said to one of the other waitstaff, "You're closed?" She looked embarrassed and said, "Well, the kitchen is closed...." She seemed to understand that her colleague's behavior was inappropriate in a retail eating establishment. He shouldn't leave this job to be a greeter at Walmart. He would be bad at that. I nodded and walked out. I'm having Japanese food across the street. I really didn't want Japanese food for dinner, but the food is always good at Hama and the hospitality is always superior.
