The food here was very very good. I would drive the hour to eat here again. We stopped in for the first time on the way home (CT) from seeing Jay-Z's exhibit in NYC. Wow- stopped here on way back to Philly and it was AMAZING! Tom Kha Gai soup was one of the best I've ever had and I've been to Thailand!! Parking is a bit tricky on Bedford so don't give up and look for a side street. It's well worth a walk to. read more

This is a beautiful spot located right in the heart of Stamford downtown between all the fancy restaurants. We ordered both the chicken pan fried dumplings and steam dumplings along with crab rangoons for starters. My friend ma enjoyed the soups too and heard they were great. For main course, we ordered drunken noodles, yellow curry with tofu (turned out an absolute favorite), the jungle curry and spicy friend rice. The food was great overall except the jungle curry was just too hot for someone who eats quite a lot of hot and spicy food. It was just added raw chili powder - which kind of hurts your taste buds. Don't forget to get the Thai iced coffee. It's one of my favorites from the dinner. Overall a great place to stop by again. read more

Not many decent Thai places in the area so while I have ordered from Bedford Thai on more than one occasion, it's still quite lacking. The pad Thai: flavors are there but everything is over cooked. We came here as it was close to our hotel during a recent business trip but I am so glad we did!!!! The staff was courteous and polite. We ordered an order of the shrimp, chicken skewers and they were very delicious. A co worker of mine tried the thai tea and was in love with it. He had two! And continues to talk about it after being back in the office. I regret not ordering one but I was sipping on beer. This place also had wine as well as your usual imports. For my entree I ordered the green curry. It is listed as medium heat but it is not for the faint of heart. It has a slow burn and sits nice. If you are not used to spicy foods tread with caution. It was a pretty big portion so I took about more than half for a midnight snack and it was even better left over. I highly recommend this place and I will be back!!!! read more

I was in town for work and this place was so good I went two nights in a row. The service and energy were welcoming and the food was delicious (YUMme)! I even had to send something back because I thought I ordered ground meat and they didn't give me a hard time about it. Definitely will be back! I like Thai food, so this was an easy choice for a lunch with the friend. We started with a couple of appetizers - fried tofu was simple and tasty, especially with the sweet chili sauce. Curry Puff was excellent, somewhat similar to the typical samosa. Tom Yum is my favorite soup so whenever I'm at a Thai restaurant, I would never skip an opportunity to taste it. The one served as Bedford Thai was very good, good balance of heat and acidity, definitely something I enjoyed. For the main dish I also took rather my standard choice - Drunken Noodles. They were marked as spicy (with one pepper), so I have to say that the dish was made "as expected" and was overall very good. The restaurant offers a selection of a few Thai beers, so we went with Simha. Good service, prompt, friendly and attentive. Recommended. read more

I was so happy that I ventured out of my green-curry comfort zone and tried something new. It was thick and creamy and extremely flavorful, which is exactly how I like my curry. Highly recommend! The Pad See Ew though was average. Maybe their noodle game is just weak. Service was so slow on a Friday night. I want to go back soon and see if it's just as excellent. The menu offers a variety of choices. We started off with the tom kha gai soup--a chicken coconut soup with mushrooms, tomatoes and scallions. Wonderfully unique and warming, with such a depth of flavor, yet the soup had a lightness to it. A perfect start. For entrees we ordered: The sizzling pancake:a rice based crepe-like creation filled with ground pork, crab, shrimp, mushroom, bean sprout and ground peanut topping. So many complimentary and tantalizing textures and flavors in this one dish! A really unique and most delicious taste experience. The other entree was the duck gha prow: spicy duck with bell peppers, mushroom and basil served with rice. Outstanding! A combination of crispy duck pieces with tender ones were ideal! The sauce had a great kick, but not too overpowering if you like spice. The rice was flawlessly prepared and the vegetables gave wonderful taste, color, and texture to the dish. The fried banana with ice cream was the perfect ending! Service was sincere and attentive even though the place was quite busy. We we not rushed or pressured and felt so relaxed. There are a couple Thai places in downtown Stamford but I find Bedford Thai to have the tastiest food, cleanest restaurant, and most diligent staff. I routinely get the Red Curry dinner with tofu and without fail it's so delicious. It has the right amount of spice (I don't have the highest tolerance), the veggies are crispy, and tofu perfectly firm. I've also had the Drunken Noodles, which were spicier when dining vs take out but nevertheless yummy, the Shrimp Summer Roll appetizer, and Pad Thai. While all these were great, their curry remains my favorite. You can't beat the location of Bedford Thai, it's right in the bustle of downtown, plus the front windows roll out completely opening up the dining experience to be perfect for summer nights and people watching ! If you're worried about dining in Covid, the restaurant has socially distanced seating and the easiest take out food pick up station up front ! read more

This is the first Thai food I've tried in the Stamford area. I've just moved from the Chicago area where we had a wonderful Thai restaurant, so that's kind of the standard I measure against. I ordered pad thai, vegetable egg rolls, and Thai iced tea. The pad thai was good enough to eat the leftovers the next day, so that was good enough. The egg rolls I gave a fair shot, but couldn't eat much of. Thai tea was good, although I thought it was odd that I didn't see any milk in it. I'm going to try a couple of other places but would definitely come back if I don't find one better nearby. read more
