3.5 stars Basing this only on the chicken pad Thai since that's pretty much the only thing I ever order from Thai restaurants. I ordered it with chicken & extra veggies. There was less chicken than I was expecting, but they did a good job adding an assortment of veggies. The thing I'm most disappointed about is the lack of sauce! The peanut sauce is the best part and it was pretty nonexistent. If I had the foresight to order extra peanut sauce, this would've been a 5 star review, I'm sure of it. The gentleman that helped me was very kind and made sure I had everything I needed before I left with my takeout order. It seemed like he took a lot of care and pride in his work. It was dimly lit and cozy inside. The eating area was small without feeling tight and had a causal vibe. The place appeared clean. I LOVEEE this spot. I could rave on and on. They are so friendly and sweet. It's definitely more of a take out place but if you do eat in the service is spectacular. The owner of the restaurant works at times too and is so personable. The food is always delicious and just scrumptious. Their pad see ew is my favorite and is a staple I get every single time without fail. The inside is super clean, very classy and chic for a resturant. Overall a solid spot for Thai! Gorgeous dining area with quick service. I thought the spicy lo mein dish was unique - I've never noticed it on other Thai menus. We tried out Thai Time in Darien in Good Wives Plaza. Not busy at 5:45pm (we were the only ones) - very friendly wait staff; extremely attentive and cordial. Super clean and tidy. We tried the Chili Wings and the Tom Yum shrimp soup - each was delicious. For entrees - cashew nut chicken and drunken lo mein with chicken. The Drunken lo mein was great and nice and spicy the way I like it. The cashew nut chicken - this was the second time we tried it - the first time was better. This night it was too salt but still pretty good! Thai Time is a solid spot and it was quiet enough to hold hands and chat. It did pick up after 6:30pm and was packed solid - I recommend getting in early. Thumbs up from me for Thai Time! read more

Excellent Thai food in Darien. It's not as good as some of the restaurants in Queens, but this is solid Thai food for western Connecticut. We were looking for a restaurant that had both the curry fish and the sweet chili sauce fish. This place had both and made both very well. We also had the Tom Yum soup, which was good, though it tasted a little different from how it usually tastes. It had a sweetness, whereas most Tom Yum soups are extremely tangy. We were hoping to find chive dumplings on the menu as well, but you cannot have everything. As far as ambiance, it was fine. It was a little odd to see a wine collection in a Thai restaurant, but I'm pretty sure this location used to be an Italian restaurant. It seems they just didn't get rid of the wine collection. Stumbled upon this place when I was craving Thai food.. didn't have much expectations since it's new with not much reviews. But I was glad I took the chance. Had the Tom ka gai- chicken coconut soup, it was good and tasty however can use a little more lime. Then I had the chicken laab- minced chicken salad, portion was a little small than what I'm used to however the flavor was there. It was medium spice and I had it with a small side of jasmine rice. Went here for lunch on a Monday. Very spacious restaurant with a welcoming feel. I ordered the Sum Tum and basil fish. The food looked good and was pretty tasty. The sauce for the fish was both sweet and spicy. It was probably the best part of the meal. My only problem with the dish was that the veggies and fish were on top of the sauce instead of being in the sauce. It made it so they hadn't absorbed the flavors of the sauce. Either way, this is a pretty good Thai place and I'd probably come back. read more

New restaurant for us so we tried first attempt of a take-out order with simple choices. Our approach is that,if the basics are done well then the more complex dishes will not disappoint: - Tom yum noodle soup (big bowel) - light on the flavor, veggies and chicken - Pra raam chicken - chicken was ok, not much in the way of veggies and the peanut sauce quickly became thin and watery. - The order was taken quickly and server was pleasant. Geeat place, ran into it by chance due to our original plan being booked. Portions are great, and service equally good. We had Drunken Chicken, Red thai curry with chicken. Asked for both spicy - and they delivered. Flavors were really good, impressed with the freshness of our plates. Really good quality ingredients. A step up from a good number of Thai places we've tried. We ended up being quite impressed with this restaurant. Why it's not full, is beyond me. The Town of Darien maybe has broken taste buds. Wandered in for lunch with a friend and had a decent time. Restaurant was very quiet and ordered the chicken green curry lunch special which also came with spring rolls. My friend ordered a tofu vegetarian thing. Food was good, but I wasn't incredibly impressed; I didn't feel that great dropping close to $20 and still being hungry afterwards. Portions were a bit smaller than expected. My photos are taken really close up to the dishes so don't be fooled. I prefer Little Thai Kitchen's green curry (and portions). This place is awesome. Some of the best Thai food I've had and defiantly the best around. I typically order take out once a week and have not had a bad dish to date. The people that work there are incredibly nice and very appreciative of their customers. If you can, call or order online off of their website and help them avoid the Seamless, Grubhub, UberEats fees. I know everything helps when they're trying to run a restaurant during a pandemic. SO. SO. GOOD. The food here was so great! I'm vegan and was so happy to be able to eat the pad Thai and curry here because they don't put fish sauce or fish oil in them!!! This was huge. Against my better judgement I gave them a second chance and again they failed. You can read my first review from December 2020. I ordered the wild boar basil dished listed as a house special. No wild boar. When I called them back they said they use pork. You cannot even tell is so chopped up it's even hard to find the meat. I ordered another house special: duck gra prow. Basically inedible. The duck was fired crispy beyond edible. In my book two strikes you are out. Never coming back. read more

Owner opened the restaurant in January 2020 (one month before the covid pandemic) and survived by takeout/delivery of solid and reliable Thai food and traditional Chinese food. Talk to him if you get a chance. Thai dishes are legit- curry (esp Panang) and noodle soups (Tom Yum) excel; Chinese food is slightly above average. A very solid spot for Thai food, the taste is spot on in every dish. The wings are tasty, as is the drunken lo mein. I find the ambiance a little crowded, noisy, but the food is some of the best Thai in the area. Obviously with a drunken lo mein, it's a given it won't be as authentic as possible. read more

Very good service, waiter was patient and attended my family and I right away. Didn't feel fussy or high brow place like other Darien restaurants and I found it refreshing for a down-to-earth approach. I enjoyed having the sampler, yellow curry and fried ice cream. We were looking for something new to try and stumbled upon Thai Time on yelp and decided to give it a shot. It exceeded expectations on every front. We ordered the appetizer sampler, made up of nearly all fried food, and even after a 20 minute ride home everything was still hot and crisp- so delicious. For dinner we got the pad woonsen and pad thai, both were excellent! Since it was a new place we decided to really go for it and ordered dessert,too! The fried banana was excellent! Just got take out from here and couldn't have been happier! I got the chicken pad Thai. It was flavorful, the chicken was good quality, and the serving was huge! The container was completely full, you couldn't squeeze any more in there. My husband got the ka-praw-Kai-sub. They allow you to choose your spice level. He picked medium since we've never ordered from here before, which was perfect for me, because it wasn't overly hot. This dish was also super flavorful and delicious. Fantastic new Thai restaurant in Darien. We've had takeout several times and always delicious. I'm obsessed with their Drunken Noodles with beef. The best I've ever had anywhere. Also love their Pad Thai, Crab Rangoon and Green Curry Chicken.
