Easiest five stars. The problem with Khing Thai is that everything is SO good that ordering becomes an exercise in poor decision-making. You think you're going to get one entrée like a normal person, and then suddenly you're ordering appetizers, multiple mains, and something "for later" because the thought of not getting one of your favorites gives you fomo... but you also want to try the whole menu. They do a specials menu which does rotate -- don't sleep on those either. We have yet to order something here that isn't amazing. It's become mental gymnastics of figuring out how many dishes we can reasonably justify ordering for two people. Sharing is caring. Favorites/repeats include: * Green Curry (we like adding chicken) * Devil Fried Rice (spicy!) * Drunken Noodle * Pad Thai (we add shrimp ) * Basil Beef * Duck Roll (newer to our rotation - one generously sized roll cut in half, so you get 2 pieces for ordering awareness) * Their steak dishes are also good! We came here on a Saturday not realizing how busy it would get. They had lots of reservations but thankfully was able to fit us in after a 10-15 min wait. The food and drinks were good. We ordered: - beef boat noodle - chicken satay - roti - twilight lemonade - lemon ginger ice tea - pad Thai - roasted chicken and rice - pork meat sticks - chicken with noodles Everything was very delicious. Just discovered this place on Yelp. Talked to one of the guys inside and found out that this place has only been open for 6 months. and after trying out a few appetizers here, Khing Thai Eatery has already made a strong impression. Showcasing a thoughtfully executed appetizer menu that highlights both texture and flavor. I ordered the Curry Puff, Steamed/Fried Pork Dumplings, Duck Roti, and Shrimp Mermaid. The Curry Puff was flavorful, but was the least complelling of the appetizers I had. Its filling delivered a pleasant blend of spices, but seamed a bit too dry for my liking. The pastry had a buttery and flaky exterior that added a satisfying contrast. The Duck Roti was my favorite by far.. It was rich savory, and layered with flavor. The roti that was used was buttery flaky and tasty. I highly recommend this appetizer. Both the Fried and Steamed Pork Dumplings were equally impressive. The steamed version met expectations. While the Fried Dumplings offered a crisp exterior that added a welcome textural dimension. I highly recommend the Fried version. The Shrimp Mermaid rounded out the experience with a crunchy bite and a generous shrimp filling, delivering both substance and satisfaction. Overall, Khing Thai Eatery is a pretty solid place to get some Thai food. Although I only had appetizers. But from my experience so far, I can safely say that this is a spot worth trying. This is easily the best Thai restaurant in the area. Food was excellent - everything was fresh and delicious. Had duck rolls which were so good - not super heavy and the sauce (tamarind?) was the perfect balance. The Tom Kah soup was perfect. Definitely on my list anytime I'm nearby. read more

It is 4 stars only because this is a new restaurant and I saw the team trying really hard, but it should be less otherwise. Great location in the shopping plaza, plenty of parking. Not much of the decor inside, this will probably change. Thai Ice Tea was perfect, my favorite part of the meal An interesting menu. I had Tom Yum soup first, it was pretty good. I love drunken noodles, and I took waiter's recommendation for the seafood version which I regretted, as calamari (I guess) were rubbery. My wife had Pad Thai, and the flavor was not great. Was excited for a new Thai place that is closer to the North Stamford area but was expecting a typical casual Thai take out place. This restaurant was a bit fancier inside, with an intimate ambiance - which probably contributed to the price point. Parking lot is shared, so it's very big and accessible. Can't comment too much on the dine in experience yet, since I did take out but the menu was vast with your typical Thai restaurant dishes such as your pad thai, curries and fried rice. However, if you look further, they have some more dishes that you don't see every day such as khao soi and the famous gai chickens. The staff seems to be Thai, which is probably why. Our next closest thing to getting gai chicken was in the city, so we were so excited to finally have a place closer to home that has is now. And let me tell you that it did not disappoint! The rice was sticky, chewy and flavorful - a bit different from what we're used to getting with chicken or ginger flavored rice but we loved it. Khao soi was done very nicely with the beef cooked to the perfect pinkness and in good seasoning. The noodles were probably supposed to be a bit crunchy but since we took it home, it lost that effect. Pad thai was good but nothing extraordinarily different. Overall, it was a bit pricier than what we normally pay for good Thai food but so far, some dishes were worth the extra. I was very excited to have this place near my house. I have eaten here and it's always been delicious. I ordered my usual last night and it was terrible. Granted I was the last order. I called not to get my money back to or a new order. I just wanted to let them know about my experience. Instead of just acknowledging my experience, they insisted on arguing with me like I have never had Thai food in my life. I tried the new Thai restaurant in my neighborhood. The décor inside is nice and the staff were friendly, but the food unfortunately didn't meet the Thai standard I was hoping for. I expected better flavor and presentation. I usually go to LTK for Thai food, and if this place had a taste even close to that, I would have been happy. We just had lunch at Khing Thai Eatery in the Newfield Green Shopping Center and I'm pleased to confirm the reviews are correct. It is SO GOOD! A very new, clean restaurant with a bright comfortable interior. The service is so friendly and attentive. Most importantly the food is authentic and delicious -- probably the best Thai we've had in CT and NYS. We tried the crab rangoons, roti, pad thai, crying tiger and whole fried red snapper with ginger and scallions. It was all super delicious and presented beautifully. They are also on DoorDash, so we'll be ordering again soon. Give them a try! read more

This place has only been open for a month and I've already ordered here three times! My neighbor also has ordered here a few times so you know it's good. There is a lot of variety so there is something on the menu for everyone. The flavors have depth and the curries actually do have a kick to them! They are generous with their proteins as my husband counted several shrimp in his Pad Thai and I had a lot of chicken in my Khao Soi Chicken Curry Noodle dish. Take out is prepared quickly and they are always very hospitable. The space is beautiful and you really can't beat the convenience as it's in Newfield Plaza. I really enjoy Thai food and I am at this shopping center all the time, so I was driving by this place daily waiting for it to open. I just had dinner here with my son early opening night. First, there is an ocean of free parking so no worries there. Inside, it is a clean, tastefully decorated, and calm atmosphere, with a low-key groovy music of covers I liked a lot. The chairs are padded and comfortable and there is plenty of seating. As were there early opening night, we had a lot of attention from multiple staff so service was fantastic. They were all really nice people and wanted feedback. The menu was very comprehensive, all of my favorites and much, much more. They do not have a liquor license. They do have mocktails. My son hasn't had much Thai so I stuck to basics - chicken satay, drunken noodles, and yellow curry. I had a Thai ice tea. As I have never been to Thailand, I can only compare the food to other Thai restaurants I have been to in the US East and West coasts. - The Thai iced tea was good, but I am used to it being sweeter. - The chicken was nice and tender in the chicken satay, but I would had preferred more peanut sauce that was a little creamier - The beef drunken noodles were very good, no notes there, the highlight of the night - The yellow curry was good, but the sauce was a thinner than I prefer, I think maybe it had less coconut milk than I am used to. Also, the accompanying amount of rice was far too small, we had barely put dent in the generous amount of curry and the rice was already gone. We had to order more rice to take home with the leftovers. This was by far my biggest complaint. Spice level - The base spice level was definitely more spicy than I expected, although fine with me. People who are sensitive to spicy may want to ask them to turn it down a bit. Price - pricing is just about on the nose, $56 without tip. When we got our check, you can just scan the ticket and pay with your phone, which not only speeds things up, but they also survey you for each dish, which is a great way to get feedback to start off a new restaurant. However, it is weird getting the check and paying on your phone and just walking out without a paper receipt. I was like "how do they know I paid?" All in all, this place exceeded my expectations and I will be back - definitely want to check out thier lunch specials. read more

I've been anticipating the opening of Khing Thai eagerly! I ordered takeout through the website and stuck to the basics since it was my first time, the crispy calamari appetizer, pad thai with shrimp, and drunken noodles with beef. My food was ready exactly when they said it would be, and service was prompt and friendly. The location is easy to access, has plenty of parking, and is clean and simply decorated. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the calamari was still crispy when I got home. I was happy with the spice level (when a menu says something is spice, I expect it to be spicy!), and everything I ordered was delicious. I would definitely recommend Khing Thai! read more

We tried a new restaurant in Newfield Green Shopping Center. It's called, Khing's Thai Eatery. We had three appetizers and two dinners. The restaurant is pretty and spacious inside. Overall, the food was fair to good. However, there was an appetizer called, Fried Chicken Soft Bone. It was a disappointment. Each piece was cartilage and no meat. It's the part that is on the end of bones, I usually cut it off and give to one of my bigger dogs, when I make boiled chicken for them. Anyway, the fried coating was the only thing we could eat. It may be a cultural thing, but for us, it was like trying to chew on knuckles. Not at all what we expected. We will try some of their other dishes, especially their curried ones. We wish them well in their new business, as we wish as mew local businesses. I'm sure, in time, they will listen to customer feedback and possibly change items, i.e., Fried Chicken Soft Bone, to make it more palatable. read more
