    Khao Mun Gai Fried

Was excited for a new Thai place that is closer to the North Stamford area but was expecting a typical casual Thai take out place. This restaurant was a bit fancier inside, with an intimate ambiance - which probably contributed to the price point. Parking lot is shared, so it's very big and accessible. Can't comment too much on the dine in experience yet, since I did take out but the menu was vast with your typical Thai restaurant dishes such as your pad thai, curries and fried rice. However, if you look further, they have some more dishes that you don't see every day such as khao soi and the famous gai chickens. The staff seems to be Thai, which is probably why. Our next closest thing to getting gai chicken was in the city, so we were so excited to finally have a place closer to home that has is now. And let me tell you that it did not disappoint! The rice was sticky, chewy and flavorful - a bit different from what we're used to getting with chicken or ginger flavored rice but we loved it. Khao soi was done very nicely with the beef cooked to the perfect pinkness and in good seasoning. The noodles were probably supposed to be a bit crunchy but since we took it home, it lost that effect. Pad thai was good but nothing extraordinarily different. Overall, it was a bit pricier than what we normally pay for good Thai food but so far, some dishes were worth the extra. Looking forward to coming back again and maybe for dining in this time.

It is 4 stars only because this is a new restaurant and I saw the team trying really hard, but it should be less otherwise. Great location in the shopping plaza, plenty of parking. Not much of the decor inside, this will probably change. Thai Ice Tea was perfect, my favorite part of the meal An interesting menu. I had Tom Yum soup first, it was pretty good. I love drunken noodles, and I took waiter's recommendation for the seafood version which I regretted, as calamari (I guess) were rubbery. My wife had Pad Thai, and the flavor was not great. Good service, albeit a bit slow Friday night as the restaurant was very busy also with take out orders.

This is a really great Thai spot for takeout. They are always quick and get my order correct I love the drunken noodles, the Tom kha soup and the panang curry. The panang curry is a little spicier than I normally have it but it's so good.

I tried the new Thai restaurant in my neighborhood. The décor inside is nice and the staff were friendly, but the food unfortunately didn't meet the Thai standard I was hoping for. I expected better flavor and presentation. I usually go to LTK for Thai food, and if this place had a taste even close to that, I would have been happy. A few small issues: the green curry wasn't even green, and it had a smell of old oil. Overall, the experience was just not as good as I expected.

This place had a clean fresh look. Plenty of parking at this strip mall. Service was great. Overall impression is that we had a comparable good meal compared to the Thai places near by. Sticky rice was a miss cuz it was small and mushy. Beef spicy salad is better at LTK though. Everyone will have their favorite dish at their own Thai places. Our meal was good. I would go back and try other things.

My first experience eating from King Thai was good very nice tasty and then my most recent experience is they cut the portion down so small that four dollars for sticky rice and it was only a quarter of a cup what a shame

So happy to see a new Thai restaurant that opened up nearby. We went here for a date night and had the crispy duck curry along with the spicy beef salad. Food was delicious and really up to par with the Thai restaurants in Queens, New York.

Best Thai in Stamford. Family run. It's a go to for our family. Duck roll is on point!

Service was attentive. Food would be unproved if not so heavy on salt! Really salty. The pad Thai pretty good.

For anyone wondering about the name, it's pronounced "Me-uh Chah" (not "Mek-ah") and translates to "Mother and Father"--which feels fitting given how much more "soul" the food has lately. A few years back, I felt like they were missing the mark on the essentials, specifically the phở broth and the nước nắm. If you know Vietnamese food, you know those are the dealbreakers. The great news is they've clearly dialed in the recipes. I've been coming back regularly now because the flavors are finally hitting those traditional notes that are so hard to find in this part of Connecticut. My typical order: * Phở Gà (Chicken) * Phở Tái (Rare beef) * Phở Bò Viên (Beef meatballs) * Chả Giò (Fried spring rolls) -- Absolute must-order. They do have a lot of non-traditional stuff like Bao, Handrolls, and a solid Spicy Miso Ramen, and while those are actually very good, I usually stick to the Vietnamese classics since they're doing them so well now. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning. It has a really cool, organic vibe with tons of wood accents. The ceiling is covered in hundreds of 2x4s that hang down like a weeping willow canopy--it's unique and looks great in person. Pro-Tips: * Parking: Don't even bother trying to find a spot on Bedford Street; it's a nightmare. Park in the lot around the back and just use the pedestrian passage to walk through the building. * The App: If you're doing takeout, use their mobile app. It's a lifesaver on the weekends when the dining room gets slammed. So glad to have a reliable phở spot in downtown Stamford again!

The place is pretty small but wasn't crowded as there was only one other table dinning in during the time we were there. I'm really not a Chinese food fan, I agreed to come here because there were also Japanese items on the menu. To drink I got a bottle of cloudy sake. I ordered the money bags, even though it had no description. Money bags are a symbol of good luck and fortune, and are often eaten during special occasions, I got this to celebrate the New Lunar Year. I would compare this dumpling like fried appetizer to a spring roll, stuffed with similar ingredients plus pork. It was served with sweet and sour sauce. I also ordered the fried gyoza, I appreciated that the textured was actually crispy but the soy sauce it came with tasted like it was straight out of the container; they could have spiced it up with garlic or ginger or chives..etc. My coworker ordered the general tso. She traded me a piece of her chicken, it tasted good but those sauces are way too sweet for me, big reason why I'm not a fan, it's just not for me. At the end we were given a small plate of fruit with fortune cookies. What a nice surprise. The prices were very reasonable here. Probably the same price you would pay for fast food but better quality. If you like Chinese food, this is a good choice.
