Thin pizza. Like cracker thin stuff on it. Ordered a margarita pizza and the funniest thing,,,, didn't have a bit of basil on it and barely any tomato or red sauce. I recently attended a large family function where they ordered several Riko's pizzas. The pizzas are very thin and crispy. I understand that this style of pizza is sometimes called "Tavern". Hot Oil is a popular variety of Tavern style at least in Fairfield County. There are at least two different ways to approach scoring a pizza place making a style like Tavern. You can compare it to all pizzas of all types, or you can compare it to other places specializing in Tavern Style. Tavern Style is low on my list of pizza styles and I would rarely choose that style if I had many options. Accordingly, I would give Riko's no more than 3 Stars if I rate it as pizza in general. However, there is an art to Tavern Style that some people love. Therefore, I'm going to score Riko's as a Tavern Style Pizza Place. I tried a few different types. My fav was the bacon and onion, and that's the one I would order if I return to Riko's. In any event, the crust and sauce were faithful to the Tavern Style. I would say Riko's is maybe a step down from another Tavern Style pizza place I visited this year in terms of flavors and appearance. Therefore, I'm giving Riko's 4 Stars. read more

Let me tell you about my experience at Riko's. I originally placed an order online for a party I was having on Saturday. About an hour later, a few of the guests for this party said they unexpectedly had an emergency come up and that they couldn't make it. As soon as I was notified, I called into the restaurant to try and cancel the order (two hours prior to pickup time). I was told it couldn't be done so I reached out to Riko's customer service. I left am email and message. No one picked up right away so I weighed my options and decided it would be better to just pickup the food and let the cancellation go. It's not hard to find people to come visit when food is involved, so I figured it made sense to still get the food. Picked it up and invited a few work colleagues to stop by and help eat it. Food was delicious, warm, and flavorful, as it always is. I've been going to Riko's for a while because of the quality of the food they serve and once again, they delivered. For me, the minor inconvenience of not being able to cancel the order was just that. A very minor inconvenience. However, about an hour after picking up the order, I got a response from Riko himself. He apologized and let me know this order should have been able have been canceled but some new staff was training and didn't know how. He was very apologetic and sincere about the situation and for me, getting a call from the man who started the business on a Saturday was absolutely exceptional. He was very apologetic but appreciative that I picked up the order and everything was fine now. That's really some exceptional customer service. Fast forward to Monday the following week and I got a call from the owner of the hope street branch, Luigi. He also was extremely apologetic about the entire situation but he called offering a solution. He proposed because of the entire situation and the inconvenience it may have caused that Riko's would like to make it right and take care of providing food for the original party that had been moved to the following Saturday, free of charge. Hearing from Riko himself was already above and beyond to me, but this took it to a completely different level. To offer this as a solution to the situation told me everything I'd ever need to know about Riko's and the people behind the scenes that really make everything come together. These people truly care about their food and their brand. You are not just a number or income to them. They genuinely care that you, as their customer, are satisfied with your experience with them. Not to mention, as a majority foodie myself, I can absolutely confirm that they truly are putting out some of the best pie in this region. They really are fantastic at making thin crust pizza. Thin crust may not be for everyone but if you're a fan and haven't tried Riko's yet, absolutely don't hesitate to stop by. You won't be disappointed. To wrap this review up, I'd like to thank the entire team, the owner of the hope street location, Luigi and Riko himself for the professionalism and exceptional customer service they provide to me. So I called up riko's. I tell the guy my address Fifteen Times spelled it out, it was Courtland Ave. He kept thinking in his mind that it was Portland ave. Then he tells me that we are out of the radius of his delivery. I looked it up, I'm about 2.4 miles away from their shop. It's about a 7 minute ride. He then hangs up on me. As soon as I came to the door, I was told to wait. My pizza was on the counter ready to be purchased. Whoever was the cashier at the moment, had the customer repeat themselves 4x. Within those 4x, a 20 second transaction could've occurred but instead he had me waiting 7 minutes just for him to get off the phone and when I asked "if I can just pay because my car was running", he said "2 more minutes". Lol if that's your customer service, that's horrible. I liked coming to Rikos, especially because of the bartender, who's always genuine but I'll never spend another dollar there lol. This is great thin crust pizza. I've ordered their "Riko's Garden Salad" and it is very good. It could pass as a good lunch. I always get a pie with Buffalo chicken and broccoli. Since the slices are small, I can eat half a pie and save the rest for another meal. Their hot oil is good too. I did a side by side comparison of colony's hot oil and riko's and colony's is more flavorful. If it wasn't side by side though, I would never be able to tell. I just tried their Reese's pie because I signed up for their rewards program and I got a free dessert with a $20 purchase. It was pure deliciousness! Also had a free order of wings with their rewards program, and the were pretty gross. Four families came and sat down at 2 tables with 7 children who screamed and hollered and were all 6 years of age or older.. The parents said nothing . It was deafening. I asked the mgr if he could move us and he said no. He also said that he could not ask kids not to scream and run . The waiter was very nice and apologized. Be warned if you are a couple or have well behaved kids that this is a zoo. The food is so so. I do believe this was an unusual situation, but could have been handled differently. Very similar to Dominos Thin Crust. For the price and quality I honestly don't see a difference? At least with Dominos you can get a few more items on their menu for the same price as 2 of these pizzas. These pizzas look like something I could attempt to make on my own. The other sticking point is that my pizzas arrived ice cold. After waiting an hour for the cardboard pizza to arrive it was cold and I needed to heat it up in my own oven instead of enjoying it right away (like most delivery). Overall taste was fine, but like I said for the price and quality you might as well order Dominos. At least your food will arrive hot (and in less than an hour). And finally they have no coupons, no deals, no incentive to make you order again. Will most likely never order from here again. read more

Rikos, Rikos, Rikos. What a great place. One of the best bar pie places in town. I came a month ago with some friends and family and we were all super impressed. Most of the crew we came with are big pizza fans and know pizza really well and let me tell ya, this is the real deal. The pizza is thin like paper, crispy and paired with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese. You simply cannot find pizza like this many places in the country. It is easy to crush 1 pizza alone so I highly recommend ordering 1 per person. The hot oil is amazing but beware, it's spicy. You can ask for it on the side if you aren't sure how hot you want it. The also have other menu items like apps and entrees but we all had the pizza which seems to be the star at this place. The beer selection was nice. Service was great. So I know all the fuss is about Colony Grill in Stamford, but I saw this place on Barstool sports so I figured I'd give it a shot. The nice part is, they offer delivery! So I can't really speak to the decor. I got a spicy sausage and hot oil pizza. I loved how there was a bit more crispiness to the pizza. Like Colony is definitely thin and has a slight crunch/chew to the dough. Riko's definitely had a bit more crunch that I was looking for.
