I absolutely love pizza post. When we used to live next door it was our go to pizza spot. We would order it almost weekly. Recently, we did a pizza party birthday party there from 10am to 12pm. It was a huge hit! The owner, Matt, is an angel. Incredible at making pizzas but really good with people. They make you feel like family. 10/10. Have I really never reviewed Pizza Post? One of the top two pizza places in Greenwich without debate. Pizzas are outstanding as are the calzones. The only slight gripe is there is no way to get delivery via them or any other service, but they do explain that's to control quality and I get that. Great weekday lunch specials as well. read more

I love this place and doubt i will ever go to another pizza place for a while. They do something great with their dough, i could eat it on its own with olive oil. You can tell all of the ingredients are fresh, especially the veggies and the cheese. It is not oily but very flavorful. I want to eat it slowly to savor it. Best of all, the service is quick but not hurried. The kids and adults behind the counter are sweet and friendly and make you want to eat in even when you are in a rush. I usually love pizza post and have been going there for years and before the fire. Seems they are slipping in quality in the name of efficiency. I ordered a pizza and picked it up. I came 10 minutes before it was set to be ready to ensure it was hot. When i got there i was given a random pie that was sitting on top of the oven in the bottom of a pile of ready made pizzas. I used to make the trip up the Northeast pretty frequently and on one occasion we gave Pizza Post a shot. My wife was very much into her spaghetti and meatballs but I thought it was nothing special. My Dante's Inferno pizza though (chicken with hot cherry peppers) I would definitely order again. A small pizza was appropriate for my meal (I have a big appetite but not too crazy). Stopped here along a drive South for gas/food etc...It was a hot hot day and Pizza Post was the only place in the area that looked like they might be open for lunch. I walked in, and settled on a chicken parm sub, and boy am I glad I did! After a short wait, I paid $6!!!! and went back to my car with the sub bag. We first tried Pizza Post the day we moved to Greenwich in November 1991. We've loyally eaten in and ordered out from here ever since. The people are all very nice and accommodating. The food is great and they offer far more than pizza, with delicious soups, salads, entrees and pasta. They also have catered for us several times and we've enjoyed it all. Very happy it's still in the family and we were all relieved when they came back from the fire - stronger than ever. Also happy that they still allow BYOB at a reasonable corkage, even though they've gotten a liquor license. read more

Cardboard box take home packaging means restaurants need to test their food in it and adapt accordingly. The meals cool down fast. And the meals need to be delivered with way more sauce. I picked it up and by the time I brought it home it was a blob. No sauce. And why do I have to ask for bread? Not that there's any sauce it to dip it in. read more

This pizza place is awful. The service was crappy, and my chicken parm wedge was nearly inedible. The bread was stale and burnt, the sauce flavorless, the chicken cutlets bland and chewy and I'm not sure i tasted any cheese at all. Furthermore, the whole thing fell apart in my hands, so i had to eat this crummy sandwich with a knife and fork. Don't bother with this place. read more

I'm a regular customer with no relationship (or grudge). IMO this is one of the best Pizza places anywhere, including Frank Pepe's in New Haven and Grimaldi in NYC both of which I've enjoyed. The pizza is the perfect middle ground between too thin (Grimaldi) and too thick (most others), too chewy (Frank Pepe) and too crisp. Just right for me. Try for yourself. The atmosphere is very pizza joint: plastic wood tables, menu over the counter, drinks from the fridge or fountain and usually little kids making noise. I've had the salads and pasta and sandwiches, all of which are average. Go for the Pizza, skip the fancy stuff. Plain cheese. Get it to go if you want ambiance or TV and a beer. read more

The service is amazing and if you are looking for a place that serves traditional Italian with great deep flavors, the Post is the right spot! Ask for the meatball parm - I asked about them after I had one and they are one of the few, if not ONLY gig in town offering FRESHLY MADE meatballs! That's a major plus with me. Also, the pizza is light, crispy and flavorful. The new Sophia Loren pie is their traditional Margherita pie, made with fresh mozz and plum tomato. It's really quite bright, and light. Not your traditional heavy Margh. I have yet to get some of the dinners, but it is anything like the pies and the parms, I'm in! It's a Greenwich staple for 40 years. Absolutely the best of the best. Favorite pizza spot in the NorthEast. Unassuming location, you might miss this gem if you didn't know, or if a friend hadn't raved about it to you. But to those of us who know, it's really the best. Very casual, traditional, pizza restaurant. It's small, but has a great vibe. The owners have been in the business for 40+ years, across several generations... How do I know this? Because they'll take your order, or sit down and talk with you (if you like, or leave you be). These guys are the real deal - the live and breath pizza and real, traditional Italian food. I've been eating from their family at several restaurants since I was a kid...and it never lets you down. There are plenty of larger, fancier, more expensive places these days. But we always make our way back to the Pizza Post in Greenwich every time we're passing through. This is my families "go to" spot in Greenwich when we want real authentic Italian food at a reasonable price - I've lived in Greenwich and Stamford for over 45 years and it's simply the best - I've had almost everything on the menu over the years , but my/ our favorite is the pizza and the "Pizza Post" salad which is a magical blend of various greens with bacon, Gorgonzola, and fresh red onion (among other things )- The Fettuccine Alfredo is also ridiculously good as well as the meatball parm wedge(I like to tell them to bake the bread extra crispy) or it can come out a little soggy Oh and let me not forget to mention the Buffalo wings are perhaps the best around too with their homemade Blue cheese(ask for an extra container or 2) All in all you know what you're getting when you eat or order out from here, it's consistently good The one criticism I would have is that they don't deliver or have others deliver aka UberEats, but it's probably because they don't HAVE to- luckily I live 5 mins away or this could be an issue Keep up the good work guys ! Pizza Post. I had heard great things and gave you three tries...because I wanted to love you. Sadly, we just did not connect. I have only tried the pizza. My feedback is this. The dough is a bit too greasy for me, thus it gets a soggy, and as a result doesn't have the crispiness I need. The sauce is decent but they don't use enough...in fact they barely gloss your pie over with it. Toppings & cheese are adequate. I especially like the meatballs. Pizza post is adequate but I think there are several pie joints in Greenwich and the surrounding area that are far superior. read more

Great little hidden nook in cos cob shopping center. Small italian pizzeria with BYOB. Always is croweded with most people getting takout. They DONT deliver but are always busy. If you can get a table, everyone gets a pizza! its freshly made on the spot which means you do have to wait till its perfectly cooked but its always worth the wait. You can add any topics onto it and can get half or even quarter toppings here and there. I would love to come eat here more if it wasnt always crazy crowded. I'm a fan purely for the pizza itself. Went here for a late dinner one night and was sadly disappointed by their meatball sub. There was no seasoning in the meat at all and I could have done with a sandwich roll about half the size of the one they gave me. The pizza on the other hand is really good. We have been here many times and we love it. Today we went in this restaurant at 9 pm. We just ordered a pizza and the brasilian waitress gave BAD SERVICE to us. She was very rude cleaning the floor at 9:15 pm while we were eating and after 2 min she brought to us the check while i was eating the second slice of the pizza. She rushed us but we check the time in advance seeing that the restaurant clase at 10 pm. This absolutely the worst exeperience ever. My friend didn t want to eat anymore, he was very sad.
