I got the salad as my side option and its what you expect out of a salad. We got the free dulce de leche panqueque with yelp check in. We appreciated the dessert. Service was quick and very friendly. I had not been here for a few months but I have been a customer for years. The updates look nice but the food not so great. The steak was over-priced and over cooked. The outdoor ambient lighting changes color every second and half the time you can't see the food in front of you. I asked them to change the lighting settings and they said they couldn't. When it came time for desert we asked for a lava cake and latte and to our surprise they don't make coffee. Well, an expression machine can go a long way. I'm very disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and tasty. Took advantage of the happy hour apps since we arrived just before 7:00 PM. Happy hour is 4-7:00 PM. Ordered the empanadas Argentina, pulpo a la parrilla (grilled octopus) and dozen oysters on the half shell. For entrees, we ordered the bone-in ribeye (rare), pargo papillion and seafood paella. This is definitely one of the business that I want to see survive this COVID-19 pandemic! There food as always been so flavorful and this quarantine has not effected that! I recently placed an order for their Netflix and Chill deal. What's this you ask? This deal came with 2 Empanadas, Skirt Steak for 2, choice of 2 sides, 1 sangria, and 1 tres leches all for $50!! Yes! You read that right! This is an absolute bargain especially with the amount of food it came with. We love shrimp so also ordered their Tierra del Fuego Camarones which is grilled shrimp marinated in a semi-spicy red tango sauce. As expected, everything we got was amazing! The Skirt Steak came in two separate containers so make sure that if you are sharing, you both like your steak cooked the same. The Sangria came in two small mason jars which easily had 2 glasses each, which is the equivalent to a pitcher! Sides we went with were the yellow rice and ensalada rusa...so good! Best part was definitely the Tres Leches and everyone that knows me, knows I am not big on sweets but wow! This slice was so good and could eat everyday lol Honestly this is a great way to bring the restaurant experience to the comfort of your home! I have had such a positive, fun, and heartwarming dining experience when I was here on a date with my fiancé. We ordered the shrimp appetizer to start and calamari and both were fresh. For drinks I had the adorable champagne bath with rubber ducks in it. The presentation was phenomenal. The main course was a beautifully prepared tomahawk steak that was served in a performance similar to ones I have seen in Miami. This was truly unique and the energy was off the wall. The place inside was furnished impeccably and it was clean and had a crisp look to it. However the main highlight of our night was getting to know the owner, his brother, and his father and hearing their story about the restaurant business and family history from Argentina. I was so amazed by how personable they are, and because of them, I will be bringing my colleagues in practice for our meetings and events. Last night 4 people went to dinner, the food was very good, but there were certain details that need to be taken care of, the prices of the dishes are significantly higher than those indicated on the menu on their website (which are already high). Also in the bill was added 20% as a tip (which is normal when it comes to a large table, let's say more than 6 diners. Also included in the bill was 4 slices of bread (US$3) which in any other restaurant is provided free of charge. I came to El Tango with my parents on a Friday night. We drove to the front of the restaurant and they had a complimentary valet that helped us park our car. When we walked into the restaurant it was pretty full. We were first sat at a little table that was squashed into the corner. The table was also very wobbly. We asked to be moved to a different table because we knew we wouldn't be able to enjoy our meal if we were sitting there and they seated us at a different table right away. The server took our meal quickly and we ordered the mixed grill with a salad and rice. We waited for a bit of time for the food to come but when it did it came out all at once. Bread was the first thing that came out and it was warm and satisfying. As soon as the mixed grill came out it was pretty overwhelming, not in a bad way of course. There was so many different varieties of meat and it was great to try everything. Though I only truly enjoyed half of types of meat, it was still nice to try everything and we also had enough to feed all of us again for lunch the next day. The sides were also a good accompaniment to the rest of the meal. The service was good. One of the servers was particularly exemplary and he made the meal truly enjoyable. Only my second yelp review here but needed to write because I was pretty surprised last night at my evening out there. The design itself is very nice and 'instagrammable'. Beautiful seating, lighting and decor. The vibe is a bit clubby with loud music and every 15 minutes it is someone's birthday where they blast 50 cent "it's yo birthday" and the staff comes out and cheers them on with a dessert. A fun touch if that's the ambiance you're going for. The good part of the dinner was the skirt steak and the drinks. Get the spicy mami cocktail. The empanadas were too doughy, although I know that's the Argentinian way--just wish they were flakier and not so dense. The shrimp al ajillo was a bit fishy and the sauce was lacking. The tres leches was also pretty uninteresting. The weirdest part was at the end. It's complimentary valet only but the valet, Victor, told us that we needed to Venmo him $5 for each car. Now I normally would have no issue giving $5 to someone working hard on a hot day. But he was literally standing next to a sign that said 'Free Valet'. When I pointed that out to him, he said that his life depends on tips (understood) but it was the way he approached us by pulling out his phone with the QR code to his Venmo saying that we needed to for each car, which felt unprofessional and left me and my friend a little weirded out. My friend had $3 cash and left it at that. I was left awkwardly trying to scan his QR code, which required a verification code (which he didn't understand due to a language barrier) so it took a few minutes to do while we were just trying to leave. Celebrated Mother's day at this place. Chose the place mainly on Yelp reviews. Most of it was true. They do have great food for affordable price. Not everything was perfect but probably due to a holiday. We ordered bunch of food: some of it was great and some not so much. The rib eye steak was properly cooked and just delicious - amazing deal for $30. The mixed platters were overall good, but I have had better ribs than these and the skirt steaks were a bit overcooked. The empanadas were great, my favorite are with beef. For the side dishes - El Tango salad, sweet plantains, sweet potato fries and potato salad were really good. But the mashed potatoes were way too salty. The worse part was probably the service. All servers were busy today and didn't have enough time for our table. We got the chimichuri sauce for the steak when half of it was already eaten. Highly disappointed with Tango after this order. After visiting El Tango for many years now, I grew very fond of their unique Argentinian cuisine. Yesterday they fell short of their norm and delivered what I consider to be an insult to real steak lovers. My steak was over cooked and not flavorful. We ordered two Mar y Tierra (land and sea) entrees that included skirt steak, jumbo shrimp, a side, and their chimmichuri sauce. Like I mentioned, the steak was over cooked and under seasoned, their "jumbo shrimp" was nothing more than only TWO average sized shrimp; that's right, for their mar y Tierra entree they only provide two measly pieces of average sized shrimp that is labeled to be jumbo. The steak was difficult to chew so it wasn't good quality either. I hate to give these family owned businesses low scores but I felt I was being modest giving a three star for that below par meal. I would say I rounded my score up reluctantly from a 2.6 score. Don't think I'll go out of my way to come here again, especially with all of the competition around. read more

The sauce that some with it was good, much better with it. My entree I did the mixta meat plate, the description looked amazing, I couldn't wait to try it. It was such a disappointment! The photos of it online looked great but upon receiving it I could tell it wasn't going to be good. For starters I asked for the meat to be cooked medium rare, everything came out well done. Considering this is an Argentinian restaurant i was even more disappointed by the preparation, this is what they are known for. The sides were so tiny it was difficult to share with two people although it claims it's for two. We received a cup of rice and 6 plantains as sides for a $45 meat dish. Couldn't believe it. My friends had sirloin steaks (also over cooked) and when I asked for hot sauce they only had tobacco which i found strange. Their sides however - the best salad and ensalada rusa looked really good. Again I just expected more. Finally I did redeem a yelp free panqueque which was given to me for checking it. It was dulce the leche, it was very good!
