We ordered a Manhatran and the old fashioned with muddled cherries. We ordered the beets and tuna tartar. Both were delicious. The beets had a potato, almond and garlic spread. Absolutely Devine! The tuna tartar was on a bed of cucumbers and avocado. Mixed in with the tuna was Asian pear chunks. Ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented. I treated my friend to Father's Day dinner at Oceanos. The ambience was beautiful. We sat in a covered outdoor seating area with a waterfall. Our server was attentive and offered suggestions for cocktails and entrees. We ordered mussels as our appetizer; they were fully steamed and the broth was delicious. I ordered the snapper stuffed with crab - phenomenal flavor. My friend ordered seafood pasta that was also flavorful. We did order a bottle of Rose to drink with our meal. Strangely, the bottle was kept in an iced bucket away from our table, so we were unable to refill our glasses on our own and had to wait for our server to check in to refill. Valentine' day at Océanos Oyster bar and grill was amazing. We were seated in a very romantic fireplace area table for two. We started off with their samplers of Oysters so fresh and yummy, we then had their grilled octopus perfection if I must say . I had a Freaky lychee Martini-let me correct that 3 to be honest they were so good and refreshing. For our main meal I had seared sesame tuna basmati rice and these delicious veggies. For dessert we had a Ekmek -angel hair filo dough, vanilla custard, honey, toasted almonds, simply delicious and not sweet at all which I enjoyed very much. I was disappointed with my dining experience. Every entree was served with the same side of overcooked cold risotto, carrots and green beans, regardless of what was order. We ordered one bottle of water, and the waiter continuously refilled our glasses throughout the meal without even asking if we need it. The water bill was $36. Typically when I have come here, I have loved the food, but we went recently and while the apps and dessert were really good, our entrees were just okay. The Tuna Tartare and Honey Sagnaki Cheese were delicious- the tartare was topped with crispy French fries, to balance the creaminess and softness of the rest of the dish, and the Sagnaki cheese was seared golden brown on the top and truly yummy. We both had specials for our entrees- my husband had the Snapper and I had the African lobster tail and 5 oz. halibut with sweet potato puree and asparagus. While I enjoyed the halibut, which was very tender, the lobster tail was chewy and maybe a tad overcooked, and the sweet potato puree was too sweet for my taste. The surprise dessert brought at the end; however, was really good. A light and creamy custard with some crunchy almonds on top, we really enjoyed it. Overall, I would give the experience 3.5 stars, as it is an expensive restaurant, and our entrees were just okay this time around, but past experiences have been great. read more

We had a fantastic dinner last night at Oceanos. My wife and I made reservations for 6pm and upon arrival we were sat immediately despite the fact that the restaurant was packed with people. The place is very attractive with multiple rooms each beautifully adorned. The place gives off a steak house vibe with dim lighting and dark wood accents. The service was on point with our server doing a great job of explaining the menu and the drinks. We got fresh bread with olive oil and olives to start. We then received our drinks, both of which were delicious. Not too sweet and really well made, we each enjoyed 3 of them they were so good. The oysters were so fresh I truly enjoyed them, then we got the octopus! Wow that thing was so amazing I couldn't believe how much I loved it. It had some crunchy burnt edges but was so tender it melted in my mouth. So well seasoned I have to say it was by far the best I ever had. My main dinner plates were good but not great, they Scallops were tender but lacked a good sear as well as a little seasoning. The tuna dish my wife had was really tasty, in fact I liked it more than I expected. The ambience was amazing with people dining and enjoying themselves. We even met some nice people sitting next to us and enjoyed some good conversation with them. Overall a very nice evening with good food, great service and nice people. Decided to stay on this side of the Hudson, for our date Night. Chose Oceanos, in Fair Lawn NJ at 25 minute ride from the house. It had great ratings...and it did not disappoint. Its in a residential neighborhood, in the middle of the block. The drive up appeal is great, and the interior was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very friendly, walking in the door. It was packed but Demitri took out coats and led us to a booth right away. I recognized the owner Pete, from the FB videos and he came over to say hello. What a great find! Oceanos is evidently an old Bergen County establishment, but I just discovered it. The ambience is spectacular. We were in the garden room with dripping wisteria and a glorious waterfall. The jazz music in the background was soothing. Our server, Kristen couldn't have been better. She even steamed the half n half for my tea which is a first. I've left the food for last, just to say everything was delicious and A+. I had oysters Rockefeller which were quite tasty with spinach, Gruyère cheese and tomato. I had the shrimp saganaki which is an appetizer, but big enough for an entree. I had it with vegetable risotto. My friends said the raw oysters and halibut special were excellent. They had baklava and I had tartufo. No criticisms from anyone about anything.
