The food and service here is always impeccable. Everything on the menu is fresh and you never have to worry about the seafood you're getting. Also no worries in recommending to others. Great spot for lunch and better for dinner. Amazing selection! Valet parking always available

Valentine' day at Océanos Oyster bar and grill was amazing. We were seated in a very romantic fireplace area table for two. We started off with their samplers of Oysters so fresh and yummy, we then had their grilled octopus perfection if I must say . I had a Freaky lychee Martini-let me correct that 3 to be honest they were so good and refreshing. For our main meal I had seared sesame tuna basmati rice and these delicious veggies. For dessert we had a Ekmek -angel hair filo dough, vanilla custard, honey, toasted almonds, simply delicious and not sweet at all which I enjoyed very much. The music played was perfect songs I could relate to which was surprising to me so I did really enjoyed it. All in all can't wait to go back perhaps in the spring as I saw a Garden area with seating .

Been here a few times, love this place! The food and drinks are amazing, and the service is super attentive. I would say some of my faves are the miso salmon, the mussels, the crab cakes and the desserts!!!

My first visit here was amazing. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding. My entree was cooked perfectly and very fresh.

Beautiful ambiance. Service fair. Seafood was not worth price. Stuffed shrimp with crabmeat was fair. Expensive not a good value. .

Typically when I have come here, I have loved the food, but we went recently and while the apps and dessert were really good, our entrees were just okay. The Tuna Tartare and Honey Sagnaki Cheese were delicious- the tartare was topped with crispy French fries, to balance the creaminess and softness of the rest of the dish, and the Sagnaki cheese was seared golden brown on the top and truly yummy. We both had specials for our entrees- my husband had the Snapper and I had the African lobster tail and 5 oz. halibut with sweet potato puree and asparagus. While I enjoyed the halibut, which was very tender, the lobster tail was chewy and maybe a tad overcooked, and the sweet potato puree was too sweet for my taste. The surprise dessert brought at the end; however, was really good. A light and creamy custard with some crunchy almonds on top, we really enjoyed it. Overall, I would give the experience 3.5 stars, as it is an expensive restaurant, and our entrees were just okay this time around, but past experiences have been great.

We had a fantastic dinner last night at Oceanos. My wife and I made reservations for 6pm and upon arrival we were sat immediately despite the fact that the restaurant was packed with people. The place is very attractive with multiple rooms each beautifully adorned. The place gives off a steak house vibe with dim lighting and dark wood accents. The service was on point with our server doing a great job of explaining the menu and the drinks. We got fresh bread with olive oil and olives to start. We then received our drinks, both of which were delicious. Not too sweet and really well made, we each enjoyed 3 of them they were so good. The oysters were so fresh I truly enjoyed them, then we got the octopus! Wow that thing was so amazing I couldn't believe how much I loved it. It had some crunchy burnt edges but was so tender it melted in my mouth. So well seasoned I have to say it was by far the best I ever had. My main dinner plates were good but not great, they Scallops were tender but lacked a good sear as well as a little seasoning. The tuna dish my wife had was really tasty, in fact I liked it more than I expected. The ambience was amazing with people dining and enjoying themselves. We even met some nice people sitting next to us and enjoyed some good conversation with them. Overall a very nice evening with good food, great service and nice people. I will definitely be back to this place again, especially during the summer when I can enjoy sitting outside.

Awesome experience! Let me get to every detail of what makes me give this restaurant 5 stars! Location- easily accessible from Garden State Parkway, lots of parking on the site. Visible signage outside. Lovely floral decor that blends well with the exterior of the restaurant . Attentiveness/ warm welcome- staff are very pleasant and welcoming. We were guided right away to our table. Drinks- they have an extensive selections of wine and liquor. But of course, we love our cocktails, so we had the Freaky Lychee and the Lambrusco Sangria. Food- extensive selection of menu choices. And of course, for appetizers we have to try their fresh oysters, the Mediterranean Spread which is an assortment of four varieties of spreads paired with pita triangles, tried the Shrimp Saganaki which is pan seared shrimps with tomatoes, peppers and crumbled feta cheese. For our main dish, we had the Sesame crusted Ahi tuna salad, the Mediterranean Salmon and their special of the day, potato crusted salmon topped with mango salsa. For desserts, we picked the Vesuvius- layers of chocolate, cheesecake and crushed walnuts and of course the Cheesecake topped with strawberries and berries. The ambience of the place is a plus, it exudes elegance, the decor and lighting blends well giving it a relaxed, comfortable dining atmosphere. Plus, they have multiple rooms that can cater to small groups for birthdays and events. Definitely a restaurant worth checking out!

Ashley is THE Best! When she's your waitress you will be taken care of. You should try the Octopus. You should always listen to the specials. Because they are usually Special! And you may not get it next time. Kind of like Costco. There's a quiet side and a more boisterous side near the bar, and a couple nice outdoor options. I prefer the bar, but probably because I like to drink. Oh! Speaking of drinking, please try the Sangria. I find it one of the best in the world. The Monarch in Prague may have an edge. But how often do we get there...

Overall it was a good experience but not great. It started with a ceramic bowl with a big chip on the inside they used to serve the olives. I expected better at a nice place like this. Atmosphere - 4.5 Service - 4... I'd say standard. No one came to wipe off crumbs off the table but at least I didn't have to wait too long for water or bread. Food - mixed... octopus appetizer was very good but I didn't care for their lobster and sea bass combo. I didn't even finish half of the food. Cocktails - 5 (pricey but very good)

    Richard M.

Fantastic gem in the area. The calamari appetizer was enough to be a full meal in itself. I trusted the waitress' choice of swordfish and was rewarded with a delicious meal. Been here a few times for events and will always gladly go back.

Oceanos is a delightful restaurant and highly recommend a trip to this gem of a spot. Upon entering the parking lot you're greeted by a friendly complementary vallet and an impeccably decorated exterior that make you feel as if you're in a winter wonderland. It's clear upon entering the doors the family that owns this restaurant wants you to feel welcomed and at home. The staff was friendly, kind and came to our table at perfectly timed intervals. The inside feels like a steakhouse with its dark wood, dim lighting, and wine displays. Now the food and drinks - previous reviewers were spot on. The octopus is to die for. If you get anything here, get that. It's well balanced, crispy, chewy (in a good way), sweet, bitter, and has the flavor that is like someone's grandmas specialty dish that always knocks your socks off. The salmon was perfection. The portions were impressive with the glaze flavorful but just enough to allow the cut of fish to shine. The Chilean sea bass was a superb cut. I personally think there was a little toooo much sauce but still scrumptious. We had a side of lemon potatoes that were out of this world. If you know good Greek lemon potatoes, you know what I'm talking about. We came here to celebrate being married for a month, and very sweetly, the staff provided us with a little Greek almond custard with fresh whipped cream and some honey and crunchy baklava style flakes. DELIGHTFUL. Pricey but worth it because the quality of the cuts of fish, service, and ambience were top notch. Certainly going back for "treat yo self" meals in the future!

    Private room available for parties.
    Catherine B.

Wanted to love it, but, sadly, did not. The good news: It was absolutely beautifully decorated with very good service. It also offered a private room if you would like to book a private party. The lychee martini was yummy and the mixed dip appetizers and fried calamari were all very good. The bad news: However, the lobster in my 3-seafood (lobster tail, scallops, and shrimp) entree was overcooked and stuck In the shell. And, the 3 cakes we tried for dessert were beautiful, but I didn't really enjoy any of them. The restaurant has valet parking. It is right off Rte 4 and conveniently located.

10/5 Stars!! We…read morerecently had my Mom's 60th birthday party at the Railyard Tavern. I worked with Bob in coordinating everything. He was very accommodating and quick to reply to email. He was a big help in answering any question I had. Our party was roughly 25 people and we reserved the back room for the party. The back room was big enough for all of us to fit comfortably without it feeling cramped. We ordered the apps ahead of time and were told that they would be ready at 5:30. Sure enough, at 5:30 all of the apps came out and they were a big hit. Everything was fantastic. We got some large pizzas, nachos, mozzarella sticks, potstickers, and calamari. There was practically nothing left. The entree's were great and came without delay. I didn't hear a single complaint from any of the guests. I'd be remiss if I didn't talk about our waiter for the night, Alan. I don't think I've ever seen someone be so on top of things before. He handled the whole room essentially by himself and somehow it never seemed like there was a single hiccup the whole night. He was beyond excellent. He was such a good communicator and kept me in the loop with timelines and was overall very organized. He played a significant role in the night going as well as it did. My whole family, and most importantly my mom, had such a wonderful night. And I have Bob, Alan, and the rest of the staff to thank for that.

Kitchen view; Nice sized bar with all the good stuff; Excellent food and drinks! Big public parking lot next door. But keep in mind it doesn't come cheap. Everything is expensive so I get it but it just didn't blow my bra onto the bathroom ceiling. 260 a couple and one wasn't drinking is reasonable If anything was wow...the best bite of the night was the 10.00 fresh table side bite of mozzarella...it's the one thing we've circled back to talking about over the evening. 26 of those bites would have been way cooler and delicious...which is a good idea for next time. Clams, tasty breadcrumbs. Couldn't find a clam...with both hands, it tasted good if not a little dry just didn't really get "clam" Mozzarella sticks....tasty breadcrumbs and hot honey. But no pull. Focaccia? Over well?? Dark on All sides and only ordered bc our entree was "saucy"...plot twist...it was not. Inventive with the sausage chicken cutlet but scarpiello is supposed to be spicy, sharp...this was roasted peppers on a sausage chicken cutlet with not a drop of sauce. (We shared this, decent serving but for the price you couldn't even garnish the plate?) Chicken scarpimellow maybe ? Cocktails? Tiny and just ok, nothing to write home about and a lot of "just bc you can doesn't mean you should" I want a cocktail with alcohol not molecular gastronomy in a shot glass. The espresso martini was very good, I will give them a 9 on that. The staff was the star, friendly attentive but I can't say knowledgeable because the focaccias sole purpose was for sauce that didn't exist and she didn't come back to ask so here we are with focaccia that came out before apps for an entree that didn't need it. The worst element was that at various points the restaurant was filled with an acrid smell of burning plastic or food or something and it was very off putting but it wasn't a delicious scent. Also, for the vibes and the cost the influencer in gym shorts really throws that whole mood yes society is more casual now but gym shorts aren't really appropriate at any restaurant with the same price point. I'd give it another shot in the future maybe just for cocktails and hand fed cheese.

We stopped in mid-week for a family dinner after work and even on a Wednesday the place was buzzing. The restaurant itself is pretty tiny, which makes for a cozy atmosphere but also means tables are very close together. If you can, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The menu is somewhat minimal, but the food overall was good. I eat gluten-free and noticed the options were a bit limited, which made ordering slightly challenging. I ended up going with the sea scallops. They were nicely cooked, but the portion was smaller than I expected--five small scallops with some vegetables. For the price, I do wish the portion had been a bit more generous. I have to admit I left still a little hungry. My dad ordered the short rib grilled cheese and really enjoyed it. That was probably the standout dish at our table. My sister ordered the honey bourbon chicken and said it was okay, but afterward she mentioned she probably should have gone with the short rib grilled cheese instead. One surprise of the night was live music on a Wednesday. I usually enjoy live music, but since we were hoping to catch up as a family it made conversation a little difficult. The music was fairly loud for such a small space. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. They also have a rewards program, which worked out nicely--my dad received a complimentary dessert for his birthday. I ordered the crème brûlée, which was a great way to end the meal. A couple practical tips: parking in Ridgewood can be tricky. The restaurant advertises valet parking, though we didn't use or see it during our visit. If you find street parking, make sure to feed the meter because the town is known for giving out tickets. In warmer months they do offer some outdoor sidewalk seating, though it looks fairly limited. It also appears they have a happy hour, though we didn't arrive in time to try it. Overall, I'd recommend checking out Steel Wheel Tavern--just be mindful of the timing of your visit, especially if you're hoping for a quieter dinner.

The waitress has to asked the manager or chef if they have what we wanted to order as a main dish. My mind was blown away at this point!! Suddenly a big dog walk in twice and walk all around of the restaurant. We didn't mind it because we loved animals but felt it funny and never seen this before specially with allergies and hair flying around with some other people eating as well. The person brought it out and continued making my drink Oh well like nothing happened. Not sure if i will recommend this place with all i witnessed and i didn't like so i will probably say No.
