What a fantastic and unique opportunity this was! Tangible Gratitude is a coffee omakase experience that will ask you to not only taste different coffee approaches but also be a social experiment of sorts the minute you step into Victor's living room area. Reservations are tough to get with the limited seats (maximum of 8) - would suggest subscribing to their newsletter on their site as well as following their Instagram. When I finally did get to go, I followed the instructions and was able to easily get to the meeting area. Coming in, Victor greeted everyone personally, and we would choose our seats. This is a pretty intimate experience, so do expect to meet someone new, especially if you're going on your own. Victor also asks for dietary restrictions as well and is super accommodating. The entire experience for us took a little over 2 hours. Victor was there from start to end to guide the experience and was super informative about what processes were used and really making the experience one for all the senses from touch to smell to sight. Some processes were familiar, but a lot was new and learned so much both from Victor and the other participants as well. Loved seeing the different varieties of techniques utilized and the set-up as well which was very zen and Japanese-inspired. I also loved how we were not only told about where each coffee was from but also highlighting a local coffee location as well in LA. We even got a free small sample of beans to take home. I'm also super grateful to Victor for accommodating me months later after I was hospitalized. Super appreciative and was wonderful to chat through this. DATE VISITED: 1/26/2025 NEED TO KNOW: - Limited seating and very intimate (only 8 seats), which is why tickets sell out so quickly! Set alarms for when tickets are released!! - Victor asks if there are any dietary restrictions and is able to accommodate dairy for non-dairy (one of our drinks had dairy and he substituted with oat milk for people). ARRIVAL/PARKING: Very limited parking, as this is in a residential area. We arrived 30mins early in order to take our time finding parking, and anticipate time to walk over. It's best to arrive 10-15mins early, so the experience can begin promptly. EXPERIENCE: As mentioned, this is a very intimate setting presented by Victor. He does an amazing job explaining and taking you step by step through each tasting. We felt that it was an adequate amount of time with each tasting, allowing us to fully be present and enjoy each drink/moment. There are small pairings with three of the drinks, to help enhance the experience/aromas/tasting. We greatly enjoyed our experience and love that the coffee is often rotating, allowing for new/different experiences for people. There's also a nice surprise at the end for each guest! I wasn't sure what to expect stepping into the omakase experience but it was absolutely wonderful. Victors attention to detail, passion, and thoughtfulness really came through in the entire experience. It was a very intimate setting that encouraged talking to other guests and I ended up really connecting with some others that had come solo as well. Definitely would be a great experience for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge of coffee or see a different side (milk brew whaaat??) of what can be done with coffee. I'm looking forward to attending a Sunday open session at some point since the omakase experience was so wonderful. Bonus is parking was very easy and free. read more

Victor created an intimate coffee experience that opened my eyes to how I perceive coffee through a myriad of techniques, presentations, and anecdotes. Overall finding gratitude for the small day to day complexities I tend to overlook. The few close seats, similar to a small Omakase sushi bar, established a space fit for Victor to explain each course in depth, fostering sprinkles of curious conversations with everyone regarding each course and their personal interpretations. Visited back in April. The experience was disappointing and overall felt like a scam. Location was in the host's apartment and parking is very limited. Smell of neighbor's dog poop was very noticeable. A random person was lurking around the apartment during the coffee session. Victor played loud music throughout the coffee experience. Coffee was prepared haphazardly without any technique, just "vibes". Coffee was sourced from an average, local coffee roaster, prepared with unfiltered tap water. No care was given to water temperature, water ratios, grind size, pouring technique, or even weighing the coffee grounds. Host lacked basic coffee knowledge and tried to put a spin on his lack of technique. Accompaniments were stingy portions from the nearest grocery store. Don't get caught up in the FOMO and "exclusivity" of the limited seats, this is all hype and no substance. Victor ended the coffee session by trying to promote his shoddy clothing brand. Only redeeming factor was the coffee mocktail and the opportunity to warn others about this experience. read more

This was like a tea ceremony for coffee, with wholly original and delicious presentations. I could start every day with the adult version of coffee-focused chocolate milk that followed the pour-over. One of the courses was a coffee that could have been substituted as a wine, with the last as a cocktail.
