Getting ready for a cruise in a little over a week from now and need some color. I've opted for the tanning beds vs a spray tan. The young lady that helped me really knows her stuff and helped me with a "plan" to have me nice and tan. The bed was clean and the room was clean also. We've used this place several times and never had an issue till today. We bought a multi-pack of tanning services, drove across town today to get a tan, then were told the passes have expired? How can a pass for a service expire? Kind of a racket if you ask me, and I would make sure to read the fine print if you decide to go here. I'd like to give one star for the inconvenience and wasted money, but to be fair the facilities here are nice... when you can use them. read more

This place is clean & the staff is friendly/nice. I like that you can use multiple locations. I wanted to get some color for a trip and an event coming up and I remember liking this place back in 2013 - well as for 2020 it's still a good spot. I personally like to pay just for one month and be done :) I read some other reviews....You definitely need to figure out how many months you want and plan out canceling your membership before you sign up. If you can do that *yes requires effort* then this place is a REALLY good deal. If you are lazy and don't read the sign up contract then yes they will auto-charge your card...but that's your fault lol. Read what you sign. It's also next to a liquor store and the really good sushi/hibachi place Fujiyama so I get sushi to go call in order before I tan then pick it up on the way home. pro tip. read more

This Tan Etc location is great. It's always extremely quick visits in my experience and I've never had to wait for the 2 beds I generally use. Alaina is fantastic and always super helpful and informative. She advised me on how to slowly build a tan so as to not burn or harm my fair skin. She is always extremely pleasant, fun, and has the best product recommendations too. Not sure how long this place has been open but wish I found Tan Etc a few years ago. All the money I would have saved! I usually use the Verapro spray tanning machine. It's fast and gives an even tan each time. I'm on a monthly membership (of which I can cancel whenever with a months notice) and pay on $40ish per month for unlimited spray tanning! That's how much I use to pay for a single spray tan!! Rooms are always clean and staff is friendly. read more

I have been coming here for a while now and I absolutely love it! The staff is very knowledgeable about which beds to use and what each one does and especially knowledgeable about all the lotions. Anytime I have a question they are super friendly and answer without hesitation. I LOVE their Versa Pro spray tanning booth as it's easy to use and leaves you looking like a Greek god. I have visited this location on many occasions and am always pleased with the level of service I receive. The staff is always very nice and they usually take a few moments to chat and visit before tanning. I appreciate the speed that they can get me in and out if I am in a hurry. Stephanie the manager always seems happy to see me. It is always fun to compare notes about recent movies and shows that we have been watching and it is always interesting to get a younger perspective on current events. Stephanie is a people person and very personable. I think the prices and packages that are available are very reasonable and the staff is always able to answer questions I may have. She will always make sure you know how to use the beds. They offer music, stickers, and add-ons to both their spray tan options including which one is best based off your skin tones. I don't consider myself a tanning bed kind of girl which is apparent when you see me. I decided I didn't want to look like a zombie any more and to get some color on my face. My first choice was Darque Tan and I felt it's a rip off. That whole tier bed system might work for professional tanners but I know a scam when I see it. I moved to Tan Etc. because it was close to my job and only 25$ a month. I have the fee automatically debited from my bank account every month. This location is always clean and the staff is great. Everyone is laid back. There is a great brother sister duo that I really like. She is always sweet and offers good advice on lotions. The brother is a cutie and sweet as well. When I got a new bank card and forgot to call in with my new number I got a fine notice in the mail. I had to go down and give them my new info but he deleted the fine for me. I can't see that other place doing that. read more

I selected Tan Etc because I like to support a local business VS a chain, but I have never encountered such rude and childish customer service, laziness, and a different story every-time I have called or been in store to try and get my account frozen and now finally cancelled. If you are considering tanning here go spend the extra money for better customer service and for a business that actually values it's customers and your hard earned dollar. I'm not a tanning expert by any means. I only do it before I go on beach vacations so I don't get horribly sun burned and the whole vacation is ruined. I've been to several different salons in Austin over the years and this one is my favorite for several reasons. First, it's locally owned and there's no corporate crap to deal with. No one tries to sell you $90 bottles of lotion. No one tries to get you to upgrade to something more than what you want. Second, it's very clean and pleasant. I've never seen anything of concern. And third, it's a really convenient location. There's always going to be some quirk with every tanning salon you go to. This one's is the cancellation policy as other reviewers have noted. I know tanning is bad for you, right? Well sometimes, there's a wedding, beach vacay, or a trip to Vegas where a tan body (or just not ghost white body) is necessary. I like Tan Etc because it's cheap to buy single or multiple sessions, and you do not have to sign a contract or buy a package. I have also had an airbrush tan here before. Sure, it's a little awkward to stand naked (or in underwear) in front of a complete stranger.... But the tan is excellent for 4-6 days. You have to make an appointment for this. The beds are clean, mirrors/fans/ radios in every room, and the staff is usually friendly. read more
