I've had great results with IPL in the past - when I did treatments in Los Angeles, my sun spots darkened, scabbed, and flaked off. Unfortunately, my experience here with Fairy was very different. There was no proper assessment of my skin to determine the appropriate wavelength or energy settings; I was simply told a "medium" setting would be used for a first session for safety. The treatment itself felt rushed, and during the session I noticed that some areas were being missed. Although I shared my past results, I was told by Fairy that IPL can't remove dark spots or freckles, which contradicts both my experience and widely available information about the treatment. After the session, I didn't experience any of the typical post-treatment reactions, such as redness, and I saw no results in the weeks that followed. Overall, this felt like a combination of outdated equipment and limited experience with delivering effective IPL results. I wouldn't recommend this spa for IPL. read more

I am very disappointed with my experience. I found a Groupon promotion for an IPL photo facial and mentioned it when I called to book the appointment. I was told it would be accepted, and I showed it again before paying. Based on that understanding, I proceeded with the treatment as a gift for my mother and mother-in-law. Before the procedure, we were told to expect visible results, including peeling or darkened spots flaking off "like coffee grounds." Unfortunately, there was no peeling and no noticeable improvement at all. In addition, we were required to pay for a mandatory FaceTime consultation ($30 per person) and extra for numbing cream+ tip which significantly increased the total cost beyond what we expected from the promotion. The facility was clean and the staff were polite, but the results did not match what was described to us. We left feeling disappointed and misled. read more

I had a wonderful experience for my very first microdermabrasion. Sherry checked me in, and she was friendly and welcoming. I informed her about a past hydrofacial service I had at another med spa, where I had a very bad reaction to the products used on my face. My skin has always been sensitive to certain products, so I have been hesitant to book any facial service since then. Sherry relayed my concerns to their esthetician, Fairy. I very much enjoyed my session with Fairy. She explained what she was doing step-by-step and always checked to make sure I wasn't uncomfortable. As a man, I waivered for a long time, deciding if I should spend money on skin treatments. I knew that I needed it, but just didn't take the plunge. I finally decided to "dive in". I had heard about micro-needling and decided to do it. I called a few places and finally got a fast appointment time with Glo Med Spa. (NOT to be confused with Glow Spa). Fairy was my esthetician. She is the best! The results were fantastic. I moved to Dallas and my job took me to Houston a lot, however, there's no Glo Med Spa in Dallas or Houston so I had to make decisions about getting further treatment. I jumped around and let others give me a chemical peel or a micro-needling and they were HORRIBLE. It seemed like they only did enough to have me coming back sooner. Also, it seemed like there was no healing time. I need to know that my money (because these treatments are not cheap), are going to give the best results. I NEVER got QUALITY treatments from Hiatis (in particular) or other spas. NEVER! I was so disappointed with their lack of results. They were all show. Lavish waiting areas with robes and shoes, lemon water, etc. Teenagers running the front desk and giving treatments. They didn't "get it". They didn't get me. All that show and lousy treatments with little to no results. Watered down chemicals that were overpriced, very short sessions with the "in and out" mentality, etc.....Long story short. I threw a lot of money away trying to find the same quality of service I got from Glo Med Spa. Never found it! So now, I drive over 3 hours, several times a year to see Fairy and Sherry (the owner) and have quality micro-needling and other treatments. Fairy can give you a light treatment that allows a quick healing time, HOWEVER, if you're like me, I want a deep treatment/ micro-needling for maximum results, and give myself 3 to 4 days indoor healing. The results from Fairy are amazing! I look years younger in their care. Their Club Membership is very affordable, compared to others, and better quality. Most of their clientele are female, but they are so welcoming to both men and women. Their facility is adorable with a cozy waiting area, classy and professional surroundings, and a soft spa atmosphere. The staff is friendly and courteous. You're not a number here, you are SEEN, and I appreciate that so much. Again, I drive over 3 HOURS, because having experienced the fake others, I refuse to go any place else. The spa itself is so cute with a relaxing vibe & the friendliest of staff. I originally reached out via booking inquiry outside of business hours & was responded to by Miss Sherry the next morning -- they were able to squeeze me in. I had my very first IPL photo facial with Caroline. She was professional & engaged, explained the procedure & post care in detail & took her time to focus on areas of need. The people here are seriously amazing all the way from the front desk(Brenda), the owner(Sherry)), my lash technician (Meli), and my microneedling/microdermabrasion technician (Heidi.) Brenda and Sherry are both so kind and professional, they work hard to match my scheduling needs! I look forward to seeing them both every time - such GREAT customer service!! Heidi takes amazing care of my skin (currently being treated for acne scarring) and is very knowledgeable and enjoyable to spend time with! I love her passion for her career! I found this spot on groupon and called immediately to get an appointment. Sherry called me back and was super sweet and very helpful. I had to do a facetime call with the doctor the next day prior to my photofacial and he was just as kind. Took his time and was a true Texas gentleman. Cleared me for the procedure within 5 mins of just basic questions. The fee was $25. It is required. Got there super early for my appointment and the gal who checked me in was very nice. Handed me a clipboard asking me about covid vaccines. Personally I am not a fan of that but no harm no foul. I was able to use their bathroom and clean off my moisturizer and sunscreen prior to my treatment. Very cute spot off Anderson Mill in North Austin. They took a few before pics. They use the Venus Versa IPL laser. They make sure to keep you updated via texts which was super helpful to me. I like reminders. They send you your paperwork via email to fill out prior to appointment. Super easy.. no printing, which I like as well. Caroline was my aesthetician. She was super nice and punctual. She did a great job explaining the treatment... checked in me and my pain levels.... she makes earrings in her spare time and gave me a pair! How sweet!!! This whole spa is top notch! Then upon the end of the appointment they I formed her the rates had increased after they agreed to charge her the Groupon rate on her follow up visits. I discovered Glo Med Spa because I bought a Groupon for three Micro-needling sessions. Let me start off by saying I am terrified of needles so nobody could believe I was actually going through with it! From the moment you walk in , they're very sweet, friendly and make sure you feel comfortable & at ease. Yajaira helped me and she was amazing , she put me right at ease. She explained everything in detail , from what she was putting on my face to when she actually performed the procedure. The only I had to pay for once I was there was the numbing cream - $20. I had it on for about 30 mins, then I went to wash it off. It wasn't as painful as I expected. I had a whole different idea in my head. It wasn't completely pain free but it was bearable. I bought two IPL photofacial treatments on Groupon . I was very excited for this treatment because a lot of people say it works very well to brighten your skin and shrink the pores. But I was very disappointed with the treatment and the results after my first visit today. The reception says I was going to consult with doctor before the treatment and then say doctor was not available, do the treatment first. And after the treatment, she said doctor is available now. I was like what is the point to see a doctor post the treatment? Should I consult and ask questions before it,! Just because the doctor consultation is $30 extra pay. The doctor doesn't know anything about the treatment and didn't care to ask questions about my concerns. The treatment was only 5 mins last!?!?!? Seriously!!! Even the reception says it will take 15-20 mins but it only takes 5 mins . And the technician was not professional , she keeps telling me it not going to have any result at first treatment . I was like what!!! Why I need to spend $85 here just wash my face?? I was disappointed. The entire visit, no one cares how I feel and what questions do I have . How was the visit. The make a cheap Groupon deal and make a discount services too. I'm not sure if I want to use my second Groupon . I hope the business owner refunds to me! read more

I initially went to Glo for a Groupon IPL photo facial (I have rosacea and melasma), and was so impressed I ended up with a Beauty Club membership. There's no sales pressure here at all, ladies, just a team of expert professionals who want to help you be the best YOU. Lilly is an absolute expert. She's done IPL, microneedling, and an amazing birthday facial (membership perk!) on me and my skin looks better at 50 than it did at 40. She's not just an expert professional, she's a hoot, she's a friend, and I trust her implicitly with my skin! I've also worked with Marie on some health issues that don't seem to be completely addressed with diet and medications. The Genomix testing and supplements have definitely reduced my symptoms. Marie is just SO knowledgeable about, well, everything she does. She's like a walking encyclopedia, no exaggeration, and she's passionate and excited to share her knowledge and experience. The facilities are cozy, relaxing, and spotless, and I always feel like I walk into a "friend" situation here, not a "business" situation. Wow! What a great place, fantastic staff (Lilly & Chelsea specifically), very informative (they know their stuff), and its so pretty! You can not go wrong with Glo Med Spa! I came here for the first time on a Groupon for microneedling. I had pretty significant acne scaring on my cheeks from high school and for the longest time was getting Microderm treatments (not here) to try and fix it but Lilly/Glo Med Spa is really what turned it around. Befire I left my first appointment, I signed up for their 2 treatments per month package at $169. I get Microneedling and IPL Photofacials, one every two weeks. Normally, Microneedle is $159 and IPL Photofacial is $189, so the monthly package was clearly the way to go, $179 in savings! Long story short, Lilly & Glo Med Spa has changed my skin in only a few treatments and I LOVE IT! If you're looking for a new place, I tell you what, this is THE PLACE to go! I've had a microdermabrasion and an IPL facial at this location. Lily does an amazing job of making you feel relaxed and well informed. They also offer the numbing for the IPL facial which does help quite a bit. I was pretty nervous for my first IPL, and they did a great job calming my nerves and taking breaks through out the procedure when I needed them. My first IPL was 2 weeks ago, and the results are definitely noticeable. I also had almost none of the bad side effects that you see online when you google IPL. Lily also does a great job of recommending the best procedures for your skin. Definitely think about coming to this medspa if you're looking to fix your skin problems! read more

They took great care to make me feel comfortable and applied numbing cream ahead of my procedure. I am so glad I found this place! I went there for the first time this week. Heidi, one of the lead esthetician, took care of me. She was very nice professional and skilled. She walked me through the procedure and made me feel very comfortable. I am already so happy with the results and can't wait to go back!! The place itself is lovely. The atmosphere is very calming and make you feel serene right from the moment you step in. The receptionist was very professional and prepared for my visit. She took my temperature when I arrived and made me sign a form to confirm that I hadn't any symptoms of Covid. Before the actual appointment, I met on FaceTime with the doctor Ramirez, the MD who works there. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. I came into Glo Med Spa for the first time yesterday for my very first IPL Photofacial. I've never had IPL before and I didn't know exactly what to expect. First, the spa was immaculate and beautiful. Mika, the spa coordinator (I hope I'm spelling her name right) was very friendly and welcoming and she helped me feel at ease. The owner, Marie performed my IPL. She was super sweet and eased my minor anxiety over the discomfort. I opted to come in early for the numbing agent and it made the experience very tolerable. The whole thing was done in about 10 minutes and I'm super excited to see how the results come out. I've already booked and am looking forward to my next treatment! It is a long story but there were 2 bad experiences at Glo Med Spa. One from the previous round of visits in which I wasted 2000.00 on laser treatment where the machine was not operating on the 2nd round of treatments and never got the 3red round. I asked for a refund but instead got a credit which was all that was offered. I should not have event take that because I ended up with another bad experience. The tech at Glo Med Spa put 2 syringes of fillers in my cheeks and some under my eyes which was offered as a credit for my previous issue. I had terrible ....horrible bruising but also had filler lumps under my right eye which did not go away after 3-4 weeks of massaging the area as I was told to do. I went back in for a follow up for that. I ended up paying them for their mistake... another 400.00 for another vial of filler along the checek fo that area that I hoped would offset the under eye lumps. (I could not risk getting the lumps dissolved and destroying the expensive fillers that I had in that area). Part of the credit given me was 60mls of Botox given the clinic by Allergan.... I was going on vacation in a couple of weeks so went in to get a round of that Botox. What a MISTAKE! The tech did Botox around several areas, including my marionet lines. 3 days later I looked like had had stroke! My bottom lip was paralyzed on the right side causing it to pull WAY up on the left side and something went wrong on the right side and caused my mouth pulled WAY down on the right side. It was horrible. I went back in to show the tech on the 3-4 day. She promised promised me that the imbalance would resolve within in a few days or a week. It only got worse and worse and I was about to go on vacation so I went to Westlake dermatology to see if there was anything that Dr. Nic could do to fix it. I consulted with him and agreed to allow him to add fillers to support some areas to try to bring my face back into some sibilance of normal. It helped a little bit. The Doctor told me that Glo Med Spa had not only over done the botox but had injected the wrong muscle group. My face looked like I had had a stroke and my chin looked super long for almost a month. I couldn't speak correctly or even eat correctly during all that time. It was a horrific experience. I would like a refund. I have blogged the whole event and have considered a law suit for the ruining of my ability to eat and being deformed and unable to form my words correctly for over a month. read more
