I got a fantastic spray tan here. Great customer service. Clean facility as well! I wanted to get a tan because that "tan smell" is a mosquito repellent for me. Thank the lord, Palm Beach Tan is open again! PBT has taken all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of their customers and staff. There are markers for you to stand if there is a line. They placed plexiglass at the counter as well. You are required to wear a mask. If you do not have one, they will provide one for you. Make sure to also download the app to take advantage of the touch less check in! Once I checked in, they assigned me a spot to wait in while I waited for the bed to become available. As I waited, the staff continued to clean all areas that were touched. Once my bed was ready, they have a designated in and out path you must follow. It's the long way, but it helps with our safety. Once you get to the room, there is a seal on the door to show you that it's been sanitized. I am so glad to see that the staff and company are taking cleanliness and health seriously. Do not recommend for anyone needing to just get in quickly or transfer from a different salon. ALL first tans are FULL priced and only given HALF the time. If you want to get tan on the cheap Palm Beach is the place. I used to be a member a couple years ago and gave it up to save some cash. This weekened the summer weather was really putting me in the mood to tan so I called them up to see what current membership rates are and was very pleasantly surprised. I just like to do the basic, no frills, unlimited spray tanning and you can get that for $59 a month. I feel like that is about $10 cheaper than it used to be, and you can get it for $54 if you're a student. The employees are always friendly and they are knowledgable about their products. The tanning rooms and machines are clean. This location is in the same shopping center as HEB and The Coffee Bean so you can run all your errands at once. read more

Do not spray tan here. i've had a membership at PBT for years in CA, NV and now TX... this location has the nicest, friendliest and most helpful employees of any location i've been to but it seems like whoever owns the place is trying to cut corners by not replacing old spray booths. For months now, multiple versa spa booths have been "not working" on and off, yet half the time they still let you pay to use them? You can spray again for free, which is a nice gesture, but it doesn't cover up the botched tan and you are stuck looking blotchy until it all wears off. after two tries (two days in a row) i look like i rolled around in dirt again. i've tried purchasing their primers, special exfoliants, everything you're supposed to do. i would think that it's my skin but this has never happened at any other place.. read more

so editing my review because this place gave me a fungal rash!!!!!!!! i know gross but thats why i have to warn everyone!!!!!!!!! i developed these circular spots on the back of my legs and back. i haven't changed bath or laundry products and regularly change my sheets, when they wouldn't go away i went to my doctor and she said i for sure got the rash from the lay down tanning bed (the rash isn't anywhere on the front of my body) i am now on antibiotics to get rid of it and have a creme i have to apply daily! DO NOT-I repeat DO NOT SIGN UP FOR A MEMBERSHIP here unless you are in it for the long haul. I complained about the beds earlier and stick with that review but now I am have been trying to cancel my membership since October and it is just near impossible. I travel a lot and I have a 2 year old so making it to the tanning beds is just not something i can do on a regular basis.So i called while out of town to cancel my membership since i barely used it. I was informed that i had to go IN PERSON to cancel. I couldn't send in my cancellation in an email, fax, confirm my info over the phone...NOPE-had to go in person. (this is how they get to keep charging you longer!!) So more months go by until i can finally make it up there so that i can cancel in PERSON like they asked. I go in and cancel my membership in person and thank goodness i purchased a Versa Tan because on my credit card bill, i have PROOF that i was in the store because...GUESS WHAT?? They are still charging my credit card like I never said a word about canceling my membership. I called again today to complain and they can see in their computer that i was there in person on Feb 4, yet they are continuing to charge my card for a monthly fee. The lady on the phone said that she would go ahead and cancel my membership but i would have to call the 800 Customer care line to get a refund for all the months they have been charging me after i canceled my membership. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? You can't do refunds at your store?? Nope-she said her control was very limited of what she could do. So nooo problems charging my card but refunding it, can't do it!! Totally a scam IMO. Before i said in my review-yes, go to this place if you want a Versa tan and I still agree that they have great machines but after this fiasco, i will choose another establishment to spend my money at. Palm Beach has taken too much of mine already and i can't imagine spending any more there. If you do decide to go get a Versa tan, beware of the upsell. Sooooo if your store closes at 10 that means 10 right? I came in 10 min before close (yeah I know thats cutting it close but ol girl had a busy night) and the attendant asked what service I was needing. When I said I needed a spray tan (sorry not sorry but I'm not interested in radiating myself - already have a friends aunt going thru stage 4 melanoma from tanning) he was unable to accommodate. I could see as I pulled up the resting bitch Face on the employee before I even entered the store. "I already cleaned out the filters". Ok. So you cant clean them out again? Isn't that like, your job? If I walk into a restaurant 10 min before close I know im being an ass but the restaurant profits so they cook my damn food. Since palm beach tan already has my money, the $8/hr employee with an attitude can say no anytime and start his Saturday night at his earliest convience. Paying $60 a month for this service, I expect business hours to be as advertised, not as preferred by the single employee who "doesnt want" to clean 10 minutes after close. Thats your job. Dont expect good service. Expect an attitude unless "its convenient" for the employee on hand. Two stars instead of 1 bc ive received some decent treatment - a manager at the 620 location was able to help answer questions when no other store had any available staff. The beds are great and the place is very clean and the girls are nice but the first couple times I went in I was pushed very hard to buy a lotion when I already had one...in my hand. She proceeded to tell me how old it was an all the things wrong with it, just a little frustrating. Same thing happened on my second visit. Been fine ever since. Also just be aware if you only want a month of tanning you need to go and sign up ON THE FIRST of the month. I would give this place 4 stars for sheer size and cleanliness. There are tons of beds to choose from, and they've all been shiny and clean when I've visited. The bathrooms are also clean, and there are little goodies in the back like hair bands and baby wipes if you need to take off your makeup. I also really enjoyed customer appreciation week, when they gave out waters However, I'm gonna have to deduct 2 stars for customer service, which is impersonal at best and plain rude at worst. When I first signed up with a friend, we were pushed HARD to buy a lotion. One of the employees told my friend that there was a one-day sale on lotion and that she wouldn't want us to miss out - but we were offered the exact same deal about two days later. Sketchy. I also got a lecture about how buying lotion online is dangerous. Thanks, but I didn't ask you for your opinion. We also never received a tour of the facility and the beds. We're both paying for the highest level package, so you would think that someone would tell us what's available - nope. When we first signed up the employee helping us said she would, but never did. I've also had snafus with employees not setting my bed to the appropriate time limit - not the hugest deal if you're paying attention, but if you fall asleep or something it could cause a major burn! My biggest beef is a conversation I recently had with an employee here named Ashley, who I believe is the manager. I came in asking to do a particular bed, and she basically told me that I shouldn't and kind of strong-armed me into using a different bed. Her rationale was: But you pay for it, and you've done the other one the past few times! She really wouldn't let it go, and I eventually felt like I had no choice. That may be so, but I'm the customer and I pay what I do so that I can decide what I want to use. I've been tanning for over 10 years and I know what I like and what I want. Giving your opinion is fine, but listening to the customer should be your first priority in a service job in my opinion. Especially as a manager! If there's a problem with the bed or it's booked, just let me know - don't weirdly manipulate me into using a different bed. That being said, there are a few girls working here who are really very sweet. Most of these bad experiences have been with more senior employees, from what I can tell. Everytime I come here, they are pitching a membership to someone and spending 20 minutes talking through the options / lotions with them. Which is totally fine, but they should be trained to check in others first. In the amount of time I waited for a new customer to have their questions answered, I could have been in and out. As an avid tanner, I have visited my fair share of tanning salons. This one is top of the line with a clean facility and great amenities including a long vanity for guests to use before/after tanning. The vanity offers a wide range of cosmetics such as hair ties, spray-on deodorant, q-tips, makeup removing cloths, towels, and others; more amenities than I've seen any tanning salon offer! Their pricing options are simple, upfront-- no guest pricing vs. member pricing, no confusing "tanning credit" policy for single sessions, and their annual fees are less than $5 (in contrast to the $25 at other Austin salons). Monthly packages are extremely reasonably priced also, starting at $20 and they have specials to let members buy upgrades if they need to change something up. Single sessions start at just $10 and range up to $35, which is fairly standard. My boyfriend and I came in for a tour and pricing options and were greeted by Travis. He was thoroughly knowledgeable about the salon and every single lotion we inquired about. Travis is a great addition to the Palm Beach Tan team, he was patient and enthusiastic the whole time we were there; sales-y enough to give us something to think about but without being overly pushy! We also saw him juggle various tasks and multiple incoming guests, never leaving one person waiting too long and never making us feel like we were unimportant either. We were blown away to learn that the company was extending their "Free Tan Week" promotion an entire 7 days because of the previous week's inclement weather and ice-scare-- so generous! I could tell that the beds are maintained with bulb changes because even with an 11 minute session in a Level 1 bed (a 20 min. maximum bed) my boyfriend and I both got some great color from it! He has medium-fair skin, mine is medium-dark and we both use tingle lotion. I was thoroughly surprised and very happy with this salon. We will be returning customers!! read more

I'm new to sunbed tanning as of a couple weeks ago. I came in pretty close to their closing time to inquire about starting a membership and the girl working was openly excited about helping me! She was super friendly, helpful, honest, and knowledgeable. She walked me through everything there is to know about tanning there and seemed genuinely interested in helping me choose the option best for my skin and goal. I've been going consistently and all of the staff are great! They're friendly, efficient, and helpful. The beds are always cleaned quickly and thoroughly and they provide the eyewear. Some side notes: they have customer appreciation days where they give out stuff like water bottles, baked goods, and lotion samples! And I'm not sure for how long, but they currently have extended hours till 11pm! Also, they have a TON of beds so you pretty much never have to wait on one. read more

Holy guacamole. This place is good, but you need to get through all the sale pitches first. The beds are kept in tip-top shape and they do their jobs nicely. I went on one of the higher tier plans that allowed me to use the Cadillac of beds for a month along with all the others. The bulbs are changed regularly. There is voice guidance on most of the machines, misters, fans, everything you could want for comfort. It's all there. The staff are going to try to sell you the moon. Be warned. I know it comes with the territory but there are a lot of stipulations when it comes to buying things in the store. If you pick up some lotion and then realize you can get it cheaper somewhere else, you can only return it for store credit (which does not apply toward your membership). I had one problem switching payment options mid-month. Apparently there's a stipulation where, if you switch your payment method after a certain date, you're charged a late fee and you can't be autobilled for that month. That means you have to walk into the store and pay a late fee, and that almost happened to me. A manager called and informed me that I'd have to walk in (after I'd already put my account on hiatus, not planning to return for some time) and manually pay after the sales girls told me several times that it would just happen automatically. They also never mentioned fees. So I messaged Customer Service and they fixed it. They actually waived the entire month, which is more than I was expecting. So the lost star on this review is a mark against the store for not giving me the proper information and then trying to make me pay for it. But I give a solid 5 to the overall experience. I'm not sure why these people are so incompetent at a simple menial job. I went to Another tanning chain previously and never had a single problem in 3 years. Hint: it was a Californian named one. At this one they have practically only one bed for each level which increases wait times significantly and for some reason when I request a lay down or stand up they put me in the opposite of what I requested! Not sure why they can't listen for 5 seconds to what I'm asking for. I did a spray tan once and it was the worst looking spray tan ever and I ended up paying $80 at a spa to have a full body scrub just to get it off. It would be one thing if they were semi apologetic but they seem to just shrug and be like whatever! ALSO they are WAY more expensive than other chains and for crappy beds with burnt out bulbs. For $49 at the other chain I got to level 5 here it only goes to two levels for that price. I can't wait till I move so I can go to a different tanning salon, this place sucks! read more
