Friendly, family owned restaurant with good home cooking food. Very good pork sinigang, which is a tamarind based broth with pork and veggies. I also enjoyed the excellent shrimp tempura! I will return to try more options. read more

The flavors are legitimately Filipino and delicious. I ordered a variety of food. They were ready by the time I requested. Highly recommended for everyone. read more

The nostalgia of this restaurant reminds me of the Filipino restaurants growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area. They brought the flavor of the Philippines to Phoenix. Wife and I came for halo-halo but also ordered sushi and bangus. The dishes were delicious and halo-halo hit the spot during this grueling Phoenix heat. Wife and I will definitely be back. Highly recommend this establishment. read more

Tambayan Filipino Food - Photo Opportunity spot! - Filipino Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

My husband and I accidentally came across this Filipino restaurant. We ordered halo-halo, fresh buko water (which we ordered a second one of since it was just so fresh and good!!!), chicken skewers and a plate of lechon kawali. Overall, the place was very clean! The staff was very attentive and pleasant. Everything we had was 10/10, and that speaks volumes especially with how hard it is for us to find a really good Filipino restaurant in any state we've been to. The other ones we've been to are usually dirty and the food is just really greasy and sickening. My husband is usually a picky eater when it comes to Filipino food, but he was definitely happy and satisfied with everything!!! We also loved the cute "sari-sari store" photo prop! That was a nice touch read more

My family and I wanted to try this place out and when we enter in - we were greeted with the scent of mouthwatering dishes as we see others happily enjoying their meals. It was quite busy but I could see why. The place itself was vibrant with colorful decor catching your eyes. It has its unique ambiance with the feeling of familiarity. I can see servers and workers together working hard as they try to keep up the rhythms of today. With that being said here are a few things to know: * the food was good! * the service did took longer and the food did come in way late due to the busyness * also when you order make sure to clarify everything that you had ordered so there won't be any misunderstandings and confusions. ( we ordered some items on the menu but it didn't went through ) * if you're dining in and wanted to also do togos, I would recommend ordering it at the exact same time as you are ordering your dine in food. Don't order it later - it might take even longer. * Very BUSY so be mindful where you are walking or going. Overall, the experience was good but heads up! It is a lot of waiting for dining in and for togos read more

Great food, love the atmosphere here. The servers are always friendly and welcoming. Would recommend if you wanna try new cuisine

Prices were a little above average. The quantity of food was smaller than other Filipino restaurants.

Food was good. I had their pork skewers and pork isaw or grilled pork intestine. Also, I ordered sago gulaman which tasted good as well. Service was great. Staff were very welcoming and it felt like home. I enjoyed the ambiance as well especially that they have the sari sari store inside the restaurant. Will definitely come back to try their other food. I would like to suggest if they could add breakfast menu or like breakfast buffet because Filipino breakfast would complete the experience. read more

We went to see what all of the hype was. Pretty disappointing! Food was just ok. Nothing really to brag about. My wife is Filipino and her food is to die for compared to this place. Service was great and the Ambiance was great it was just the food that I wished would've been great too! To me the menu is limited to only a few Filipino dishes. Just wasn't my cup of tea. Maybe others would like it. Thank you! read more

Service is very good, even though there was a large party of about 50 people the servers were still attentive to the rest of the customers. I ordered the "pancit overload", it was a good option for anyone new to filipino food, I am not and was sad to see the menu lacking many of the regulars on a Filipino menu. The portions are small and the price comparable to other Filipino restaurants in the Phoenix area that have larger portions. I thought the pancit could use more flavor. The kiwali pork was tender with a great crunch on the skin end and the lumpia was crispy with a well seasoned filling. Overall the food was good and I would return. A large group was having an event, it was extremely loud. Patrons were screaming and yelling across the restaurant, they were in good spirits though. All of the tables have grills in the center which leaves you no space to put your legs under the table if you're over 5'10. Men were sitting with their knees spread wide in order to fit. The grills have no lid so if you are not utilizing it, it is just a nuisance. There is only 1 menu item to use the grills, BBQ skewers, which you have the option to grill on your own. With a mostly full restaurant not a single grill was being used. Most tables seemed to be ordering family meals to share. These were served on large platters lined with banana leaves and individuals serve themselves from those platters. It seemed like a great option to try multiple items. read more

I was very excited to try this place for the first time ! Walking in the ambiance was great. It smelled amazing so I know the food just had to be great too! Unfortunately, a table for 2 was sat and left for an hour 10minutes. We were only able to order drinks which took 15 minutes that's average no biggie. But the waitress came and said she forgot about us and she was sorry. I'm a server I understand.... But I was quite literally starving and falling asleep at the table. There was time for two karaoke contestants and two birthday songs people who came in with us were already eating as well.. so We paid for our drinks and left. I would've loved a better experience not sure if I'd give it another visit. read more

Food was overpriced for amount you get Pancit was wet - it's not supposed to be wet. How in the world does a Filipino restaurant not have adobo when it's on the menu? Service is horrendous. One small cup of water and we never got refills. If you're not Filipino you'll get ignored. I'm half-Filipina and came with a Hispanic friends. It took over 3 hours from start to finish to order, get food, pay and leave. Several other Filipino patrons came in and were in and out before us! Go to Halo-Halo Kitchen, Nanay's, or At My Place for better food and better service. read more

Absolutely delicious Filipino food, and for a reasonably good price. The food's great, totally worth the money, only thing was that I didn't have enough to buy more. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, you feel very at home and very welcome, and the staff kind of make you feel like friends and family, which is rare to do in such a short time, what 15 minutes? The ambience definitely reminds me of going to any Filipino family gathering, and the food's just as authentic. 10/10, just have plenty of money so you can try everything at once. lol read more

We tried them before when they were still a to go order and glad they have their own place now. This is so far the best sisig I've tasted (almost the same taste a sugay sizzling sisig of angeles) their kare kare tasty and even their dinuguan. To top it off with their garlic rice sure hit the spot and brought me back "home". The person on the phone was very helpful and even as my husband picked up the food. Their camote que, perfect ang pagkaluto at tamis. Finally my new filipino restaurant to go to. read more

Food is delicious, Great customer service. The restaurant is clean. Excellent on everything! I definitely recommend this place.

My Filipina wife and I went and tried the Pork Sinigang. It was overall good and Lami. It should have kangkong or pechay instead of regular spinach and the eggplant in the soup is usually cut lengthwise and bigger and the pork should be larger cuts. The pork was tender and the broth had good sour flavor! We also tried the sizzling Pork Sisig. It was good and had nice flavor! Don't Filipinos usually eat this drinking a San Mig beer? It would be nice to have Filipino beers available. The Rice was not too good. It says on the menu they use jasmine rice. I don't know why they would use jasmine rice when that is Thai rice. Filipino rice is a long grain rice. And it seemed the rice they served us whoever made the rice used too much water preparing the rice because it was mushy and seemed to be hot held too long. The Rice was not hot at all and was not included in the shared entree items. If they are hot holding jasmine rice it breaks down much easier than long grain rice and does not hold up for long periods of time for good steamed rice. Our server was nice and polite and attentive and helpful. She greeted us with a big smile and welcomed us into the restaurant. This could be a great Filipino restaurant if they just bring the food up a level and tighten things up a bit! We will be back read more

The food is good, but if you live in the east valley it's hella far to go to. The service was so slow. They never came around to give us water. The place used to be a Korean bbq so each table has the burner in the middle. read more

I was excited to try this place, especially since the last Filipino restaurant that was in the same location wasn't any good. Unfortunately, that excitement ended pretty quickly after my first visit to Tambayan. Let me preface this, I am a Filipino and have eaten all kinds of Filipino foods my whole life. In my opinion, Tambayan was not good. 1. The service was very unfriendly. I don't think they know how to smile. 2. The menu is very pork heavy. No vegetarian options. 3. The portions are small. If you've ever grown up Filipino or have gone to a Filipino party, there is always tons of food. All the nanays (moms) are constantly putting food in your face -- "You eat!" But not at Tambayan. Small portions for an expensive price. I ordered Sisig and the egg on top was raw, even though it was served on a hot plate. I mixed it with the pork, as you do with this dish, and it never fully cooked by the time the plate cooled down. So I didn't eat much of the $15.99 dish. My husband ordered pancit and inihaw. Pancit was decent but that's such an Americanized staple. The small portion of inihaw was way too fatty. I know it's pork belly, but there's meat on pork belly too! Originally he wanted longanisa because it's plastered all over the Insta-foodies' pages but they don't even serve it! I requested it thinking it's an off-menu item and the unfriendly waitress looked at me like I was nuts. We also ordered lumpia and it was nearly burnt. Don't be fooled by the Instagram food influencers who hyped this place up. 4. It wasn't very clean. Our table was sticky and the floors looked gross. The base of the cooktop tables are so big that your knees are jammed in your seat. But that's what it looked like when it was the restaurant prior. They don't even have anything on the menu to cook at your table! They did nothing to jazz it up. Oh wait, they added a "market" full of Filipino junk food. Uh, yay? After the meal, we ended up going to Lam Asian Market and bought our own Filipino ingredients. I'll just cook it at home. read more

What an exceptional service! The minute we walked in, we were greeted like old friends! We were introduced to the owner of the restaurant who was out cleaning tables! She seemed down-to-earth & humble. They BOTH took our orders right away! The place was super busy for a 4pm Saturday afternoon. But our foods came out quickly. The pancit glass noodles were loaded, with pork belly & lumpias too. And everything was delicious. But the crispy pata was to-die-for! It was the best we've ever tasted, and we're from CA! The food was fresh and heavenly! The ambiance was homey with all the staff communicating & working well together, a true family-run restaurant. We can not wait to come back for more! read more

I ordered tortang talong and chicken inasal, service was fast and tasted really good. It's my first time here and I will be back.

This is a really hard one for me- I really wanted to love this place by looking at the reviews but unfortunately, it was okay. First we were seated and perhaps they were short staffed, but it took a bit for us to get greeted and have our order taken- which I can look past because our kids were unbothered. The food took at least 45mins to an 1hour to get to our table. However, the food was where my rating comes from. All of it was salty especially the pancit. To the point where I would even say it was inedible. When I mixed it with rice to balance it out, still salty. We also tried the pork bbq, chicken inasal and lumpia. All of it was either salty or was just okay. Again, this could have been an off day, but just my experience. I know they just opened this location, so could just be some growing pains. read more

Okay let me start out saying that when you say the best Filipino food I mean the best. The fried pork belly is amazing and the pork adobo to die for. The service was fantastic the first time the employees were so nice and friendly we felt like apart of the family. The second time was even better they remember us from last time and told us about new menu items even offered us to sing a little karaoke but lol didn't embarrass myself... maybe next time. The atmosphere was like a family dining it was so enjoyable. I would advise and yell from the top of a mountain and tell everyone to go try this amazing restaurant out. read more

The outside the building looks run down and needs tending too. The entrance and inside is a mix match of spot lights, backyard stringed circle lights, lights on a green evergreen vine and diamond circular lights. The booths and tables look to be from the previous owner, Korean Shabu-Shabu; grills in the center of the table. This limits the table space. The food...we ordered, Lechon Kawali Pork Sisig, Grilled Pork Ears and Kalamansi Juice which the waitress said we do not have because of the weekend and its Monday so we are waiting for delivery. The food we did get, the chicken was over cooked, the pork was ok but the dish was delicious. The rice....forget about it, its not Three Ladies, you know what I mean if you know your rice! The waitresses need training on basic restaurant customer service. An example, giving the wrong table receipt to the customer. I know its a new restaurant but these are the basics of restaurant operations and quality control and cleanliness, needs help! read more

Pork lumpia heaven!! The price is very cheap for the lumpia, but I wish they offered a chicken and vegetarian version. We went on a Saturday night, and it was packed -- with what felt like every Filipino in Phoenix. The food and drinks were excellent, but it was a bit awkward to figure out how to pay -- you have to go up to the register in the back. The tables all had grills where you can choose to cook your own food. We also saw a lot of people pick up food to go. We will be back!! read more

In a nutshell -overpriced -small portions -disorganized -not good for groups -AC doesn't work I made a reservation the day before for about 20 of us. Those in my party who came late got their food before those who were on time. Though we got some appetizers which was a mistake, my children and I were just waiting for over an hour for our entree's. Turns out our order was not put in. I had to tell the waiter our order again! I got pork barbecue plates and it's overpriced for what you get. 1 scoop of rice and 2 mini skewers. Basically half a plate you get from Panda Express but costs a full plate. I got sinigang for my children. It doesn't come with rice! Had to order that! My family and I were the last ones to get our food and all my friends were finished. When it came to paying, they said a 10% discount for the ordeal. But my friends behind me voiced out for me and took off our entree's. As much as I wanted to like this place, it's not meant to be. I was embarrassed to suggest this place to my friends and family. read more

Friendly staff, food is fresh I like the energy of staff, good food I feel like home. I recommend this place...

Came all the way from Yuma to try this place. Granted it's a Saturday lunch time, it was fairly busy. However, I stood in front of the To go counter for a good 15min before ANYONE greeted me. Because the seating time was 30 min wait, we decided to get "to go" which took just as long. Our order FINALLY came. I ordered a dinuguan with rice, and loaded Pancit with lechon, 2 pastries from the fridge that we took out of the fridge ourselves; meaning, the pastries didn't need to be cooked for us. Came out to $56! Mom said it was a rip off. by the way, they forgot the rice. The rice is almost a brown rice. Not white. The dinuguan was swimming in oil as seen in picture! Seems like they're skimping on quality as well. Had to sit and wait for the rice as well. It's not like my order was extensive. 2 orders from the kitchen. Overall, I don't and won't come back here. Waste of time and drive. Mediocre Filipino food. read more
