The ramen was incredibly good! The pork bao buns were honestly one of my favorites! I got the seafood bowl, and next time I'm definitely getting the spicy version because I think that's what it was missing. The appetizers here are all really tasty. Don't hesitate to stop in.

Delish & tasty! A not miss experience! Caveat: while quality is just outstanding, portions are on the small size. While I could not have eaten two orders, I should have ordered extra noodles and broth. The ambiance is nice and quiet and our server was helpful & attentive. The layout lends itself to a nosier environment but we went early & mid-week. The menu selection is broad & deep, really nice choices. The desserts are not miss but also tend to skew small, each person needs their own as there just isn't enough to share. All in all though, don't bypass it, stop in for a lovely meal, we are glad we did! Thank you, Patrick S.

Things I'm thankful for? Takumi Ramen. Another beautiful bowl of delicious ramen. I ordered the chicken ramen this time. It's grilled chicken, a half of a marinated egg, black fungus, bamboo shoots and garlic oil in a chicken bone broth. 10/10 friends, 10/10! I feel super blessed and thankful everytime I get to eat at this establishment! I say I'm going to try everything on the menu, but the ramen gets me everytime lol! Thank you guys again for being so yummy and consistent in your food! This place is always so warm and cozy m. The service is great and as always, if you haven't give them a try, you absolutely should! Happy New Year, guys!

Let me just start by explaining the each section and how I scored a 3/5. The interior of the space felt cozy and welcoming. It was comfortable and spacious inside the main space. There was plenty of seating and even a large table for a large gathering. The night that I went, we were quickly greeted and then sat down. However, when it came to service, there wasn't enough staff to accommodate the customers. You either get the plates, spoons, and water all at once or you wait until they're free to bring you the utensils. I saw both happen that night. When it came to the food, I ran into a friend who ordered the spicy miso. She gave me a warning that it's very spicy. So when I was ordering the spicy miso, we asked for less spicy. We also ordered the tonkatsu noodle and the unagidon. The unagi rice did not come as pictured on the menu. There's a piece of tofu that got swapped with kimchi. In addition, the miso soup that came with the rice was... salty. We contemplated if we should pour some water to even it out. In the end, we decided not to drink it. The noodle was average and wasn't anything special. We all finished the food but decided that there was better ramen elsewhere.

Takumi is so good had to come back again! Went with the beef stir fry ramen, grilled zucchini with a little spicy sauce on top, and shrimp tempura. Always quick and friendly service. Food never disappoints. Great tunes and great vibes too. Must try if in the area!

Service was almost comically bad (I think our server was brand new) but we will absolutely be back to Takumi! Takumi is in the heart of Pilsen, where SKY used to reside and has the same upscale interior. They're still settling into the space, but the ramen was really exceptional. I had the spicy miso ramen which was so light and delicious with a perfect kick. My husband's spicy tonkatsu ramen was super rich and flavorful. We also had an order of gyoza which were good, but nothing too special. The ramen is the real star here!

Takumi Ramen is my go to place when I'm craving some ramen. I came in on Friday after having been there with my sister that last Saturday. The ramen comes out so quick even if the place is busy. Sometimes the ramen comes out with the appetizer! The strawberry Yakult tea is my new favorite drink

We ordered: 1. Seafood Stir-Fry Ramen 2. Takumi Tonkotsu Ramen 3. Chicken Karaage Decent restaurant overall. Tonkotsu broth had the right flavor and creaminess. Ramen egg and chashu were properly cooked. Stir fry ramen is pretty sweet and exactly what you'd expect. FYI, according to waiter, the stir fry sauce is the same across the stir fry options; just the toppings are different. My shrimp was perfectly cooked. Chicken Karaage was not really Karaage but more like Taiwanese style popcorn chicken; still tasty and big portion! Matcha latte and Thai Tea is the similar cheap stuff you'll find at most other restaurants that don't specialize in coffee/tea like cafes. This is an acceptable spot to get your ramen fix. No issues with service.

This is the BEST ramen I've had! Probably 2nd favorite in Chicago! My daughter got the Kimchi Ramen, my husband got the Spicy Tonkotsu and I got the Miso Ramen, all 3 were perfect! I don't like when my ramen is too salty but the broth here was heavenly! ‍ The vibe is pretty chill, perfect for a date night, anniversary, birthday & quick bite. The service was fast. It's fairly new but I'm hoping they stick around for a long time!

Formerly as SKY, the original interior design of this restaurant is preserved as is and holds up quite well. However, the quality of food doesn't quite match to the echelon level the space builds up its hype. The dishes ordered were all quite oily and the chicken karaage is prepared with quite the grating cornmealy batter and the chicken meat is fatty and full of tendons that makes it chewy. I don't personally care for how this version was made as everywhere else prepares fried chicken any other style much better. I'd avoid the beef stir fry dishes as it is very salty. Overall, I didn't feel quite healthy or good after the meal. Maybe I'd order their traditional ramen bowl and tone down on their fried dishes. My favorite item was the ube (purple sweet potato) fries as it's unique to Takumi. All of the staff here are very friendly and helpful.

I really enjoy this place. Takumi Ramen is consistently good, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. The miso chicken ramen is my go-to, it's rich, comforting, and full of flavor without being too heavy. If you're in Pilsen and craving a solid bowl of ramen, this spot is definitely worth checking out. It's one of those places I'm always happy to come back to

    Tonkatsu Don

I bought my niece and nephews here to try ramen for the first time. They absolutely loved it! Great place for ramen and the Tonkatsu Don was also very delicious. You get a nice proton size for the price. Would definitely come back here again

I just wanted to recommend a really great ramen place in Chicago. The ramen is absolutely delicious, and it's located in the heart of Chicago, is Pilsen which is a fantastic universal neighborhood. The atmosphere is really cool, with great music playing in the background. The staff is attentive but not overbearing, so you can enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Overall, it's a peaceful and intensely tasty experience that you and your date or company will love! Jason and ceci were amazing give them a raise!

You can tell they water it down a lot and just add a ton of minced garlic to make up for it. By the end of my bowl it was just boiled garlic crumbles. The tonkotsu was also completely the wrong color: translucent, watery, brown chicken-broth looking--not a nice light, fatty, and milky brown. Missing flavor. The chicken ramen was also extremely underwhelming, ZERO FLAVOR in the broth and the chicken!!!!! The meat itself was very moist, but the broth honestly tastes like a can of low sodium chicken broth. Really embarrassing excuse for ramen. I really expected more out of this place. Can't compete with A-tier Asian food in other areas. Service was pretty poor too. One girl for the entire floor of tables. Ignored us the entire time apart from getting our orders. Overall not worth coming back when there's so much better Asian food out there to try.

For the main attraction I ordered the spicy garlic ramen that was such a delightful mouth experience it really hit all the taste buds! The noodles were perfectly bouncy with the right amount of chew. The jellied egg was perfect and rounded the soup very well! The red chili threads enhanced the spicy miso broth just enough to slurp all the delicious goodness down! All my previous personal experiences…read morehave always proven to me that restaurants with names that don't represent their culture in distinct ways are generally subpar. For example, I would usually never even think to step into a restaurant named Best China House, Sushi Bistro, or Mom's Korean Restaurant. (Apologies if your shops are named as such. These were meant to be generic examples) Oh, how times have changed. I would have never thought having a bowl of ramen at a Monster Ramen would give me this much pleasure. Part of it will (in fact, most of it) be on me and my general philosophy on fusion cuisine and outdated gemerational gap. There was definitely a time when avoiding agorementioned type of restaurants may have been deemed smart. But I feel the new generation of restaurant owners and chefs have up'd their games in not only at better food making, but also accepting of a bit more irony. Anyone who knows me knows how much I stay away from trying anything "fusion." It's kinda funny to myself how hypocritical it is that I would be totally okay in substituting an ingredient or two when I'm missing some when cooking, but when it comes to paying money to sit and eat that I would judge chefs by thier style of cooking. Yes, a big part of it is based on a large pool of personally gathered data, but I do acknowledge that I need to open myself up a bit more. Case in point. I was recommended MR by a fellow Yelper and I decided to give it a whirl. I happened to have a friend and his son with me, so I was able to do small tastings of 3 different ramen. And boy, was I pleasantly surprised. We collectively had bowls of shio, shoyu and miso specials. Plus, I ended up getting the Summer Special bowl to go for my wife. All of them had their individual charm to them but more importantly, each of them were made to perfection when it came to broth seasoning and noodle texture, which are THE two most important aspect of ramen, in my opionion. Not too salty nor bland soup. Perfectly dense noodles. I just loved all four! It wad when I tasted the yuzu in tgeir shio ramen that my wife would love it. Even though I brought her the spicy Sunmer version home, I still think it'll be worth bringing her and our daughter back when we get a chance to. Our server Dionne (I think) was most pleasant and helpful. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, too. It helped that I came before the dinner rush, although, I can also see more lively vibe being nice as well. Will be back with the fam definitely!
