came by to try their $1 oysters for the month of july! they flavor them two ways and only sell them by 6 or 12 and we loved them!! the sauce was so perfectly tangy and one was with wasabi. they provide extra lemon and tobasco om the side. loved the freshness of the salmon and sweet ebi. we were pleasantly surprised with the addition of the fried shrimp head which was perfectly crispy to eat. service was also great! music was bumping so depends if you like that, unfortunate they only offer bottle water which you need to buy. overall, would love to come again read more

This place was a little odd. We came for sushi + karaoke, and there was no karaoke area there were just some tvs up with music videos playing. I got the super duper maki, and I was confused when the salmon came out cooked in the roll (other rolls said the salmon was cooked, so I assumed it would be raw salmon in this one). This place also only has canned drinks which I wish places would tell you before you order it. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out even though we were 3 of 6 people in the restaurant. I might would try it again during the day, but my first experience was pretty mid. read more

From the moment we walked in, we felt genuinely welcomed. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of, showing excellent customer service throughout our visit. The food is absolutely delicious -- all the sushi rolls we've tried have been fresh and flavorful, but my personal favorite is the Flaming Maki. Every bite shows the care and quality that goes into the menu. I was in town for work a few months ago and craving sushi, so I decided to order from Alynia Sushi due to the good reviews I saw on Yelp! I tried the spicy scallop maki roll and the spicy nia roll. Both delicious and a great portion size. My only complaint is that I ordered salmon sashimi and the pieces were a little too thick/tough. Awesome sushi spot on Archer Ave. The location seems a little random, but don't let it deter you. The service is very friendly and welcoming. Sushi was fantastic. Everything was very fresh. We came here after getting into Chicago late for Riot Fest. This place was close to our Airbnb and open late. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. They also had karaoke on the TV screens which was a little bit strange but we participated anyway, and had a blast. The sushi was so good that we came back a second time. There aren't many sushi restaurants in neighborhood of south side besides the ones in Chinatown and so I'm glad to have stumbled across this one. The sushi is quite fresh and the food was served very quickly. Our server came by a couple of times to check up on us. We ended up ordering 3 rounds in total because we could not get enough of their salmon hand rolls! read more

I recently moved nearby Alynia Sushi. I stopped in today to give it a taste test and it was well worth it! First and foremost, the employees are really easy going and very polite... that's always a plus... I started off with the Miso Soup which is one of tastiest Miso Soups soup I've either ever had, or had in a long time. I thought the soup was made to perfection and it was only $3. Worth all 3 dollars I would say! Then I got straight to the point with 3 different sushi rolls: 1. Spicy Tuna Roll 2. Spicy Salmon Roll 3. Spicy Scallop Roll The sushi was really really fresh and well done overall. No complaints whatsoever. When I go back, I think I'll slow down a bit when I eat so I can fully enjoy it. I've ordered here from 2 separate occasions. Both times service was extremely friendly. On one occasion, a staff member names Henry went the extra mile to text me about my order to make sure I was okay with any changes which I thought was really nice. I ordered the sashimi platter which included 16 pieces of fish plus a side of sushi rice. The fish was all really good, generous portions, good variety and the garnishes were really nice! The sushi rice was delicious and had pickled daikon and these sweet mushroom that was a really nice touch! Overall, I was very pleased with this lunch and would 100% order again! Another time I got their a platter of their sashimi/sushi combo platter which is $95. The price is a little high but the cuts of sashimi were thick with 4 different types of fish. There seems to be many places that offer sushi to eat in Chicago. Alynia is becoming my favorite place to go for traditional and new variants rolls. I have ordered a few different party trays and the quality is exceptional with the freshest fish. I enjoyed the Maki 1 which is kid friendly with many cook rolls and a couple that are spicy which we enjoy as a family. When I am not in a mood for rolls, I ordered the sashimi deluxe which are 16 pcs assorted which are all thick portions. I recommend the party trays and sashimi to everyone. There are plenty of non metered street parking nearby. read more

Wow. I was looking for late-night sushi and luckily stumbled upon this hidden gem. The sushi was SO FRESH! The tuna roll was undoubtedly the best I have ever eaten and the $1 oysters were spectacular and an awesome deal! Service was very friendly too. I also got an assortment of nigiri and everything was amazing. The fish-to-rice ratio was very good (not overloaded with rice as many places do). By far the best sushi experience I've ever had! Fav is the rib eye quail egg sushi i love getting the Sexy vegan Roll (sweet potatoes) with eel and the mitake mushroom sushi $1 oysters and $5 toro is great deal during the week Chef cutting tuna in front of the restaurant was my favorite part. This restaurant has good food and a nice decor inside. The location is kind of strange though and feels a bit out of place. Another issue is that they don't have tap water to give you and can only give you water in bottles. For food they have a wide range of sushi and fish and also good lunch options. read more

I was pleasantly surprised! What started out as a quick find for a meal in the neighborhood, ended with a two full happy belly's. My grandmother who is notorious for being a picky eater, often judging all the restaurants in Chinatown, loved this place. While it isn't exactly authentic Japanese, our meal was still wonderfully and meticulously cooked. Their presentation and flavor was top notch, it felt like I was eating a home-cooked meal! Great quality at a good price. I wasn't sure how it would be when I pulled up, but the raving reviews were correct. We had the crab ravioli, which their take on crab rangoon. We also had California rolls and shrimp tempura rolls. Pretty simple order, but they were some of the best rolls we've had. read more

I wish there is zero score. First of all, they don't care much about sushi rice. Fish is important but no quality control sushi rice is big no no. Their sushi rice is joke. The worst sushi rice i ever had. It could be that they didn't have rice ready when I visited. But you know what. If you don't have ready-to-serve sushi rice you should not take my order. It is a snap shot if how you run sushi Secondly, the person making sushi, sashimi and rolls don't care about hygiene. Sushi chef ought to do make sure everything ready before he/she starts making. You should not touch whatever other things while you are making sushi. Lastly, fish is not good either. I'm not going there. I expected lots because this restaurant is located at some unusual area where not many restaurants are there. I was thinking that the owner is confident enough in what he/she is doing. But i was wrong. I was tricked by yelp and google's relatively high ratings. read more

Each item is smaller portioned but all together it's a substantial lunch set. I also tried the express sushi and sashimi lunch set, which comes with a delicious seaweed salad which I would order on its own as an appetizer. The lunch set comes with their "oh-my-kaze." This includes salmon, hamachi and tuna. One piece of tuna was substandard and had a big piece of sinew in it. Our server quickly switched it for another piece. The only dish I would skip is the Peking duck sizzling rice. The taste was fine- a little on the sweeter side with the hoisin sauce but the portion was more of an appetizer size. It's also not a true Peking duck, which focuses on a crispy duck skin and this dish just featured duck meat.

Their sommelier was very helpful and recommended the Snow Tiger Yuki Tora which is unfiltered and looks like milk, but it went beautifully with our food. We started with Edamame which had a perfect char. The grilled Avocado was a pleasant surprise with the char flavor and great spicy sauce. You get a spoon to scoop out the avocado and it's sliced so it works with chop sticks. By the way everything is great for sharing which gives everyone a chance to try the wonderful menu. Then we attacked the main menu. The Wagyu Nigiri, the must have Bluefin Tuna Crispy Rice, Crispy Spring Rolls and I drank the juice with the Hamachi and Lemon. Now it's time to figure what's next! spicy Tuna roll, triple tuna roll, the incredible Wild Mushroom sizzling rice bowl and it is sizzling! We're nearing the end! The Unagi and the Black Cod couldn't have been any better. It melted in our mouths. Think we're finished, we saved room for dessert! The Miru-Ishi and Black Sesame Mochi. We're finished! The tuna piece was the only I really loved. The fish quality wasn't as high as I was expecting. The sushi was decent. A little too much truffle in the spicy blue fin tuna and a little too vegetable forward in the hamachi serrano. All in all, the atmosphere and amazing service pushed this up to a 4 for me.

I was seated at the sushi bar shortly and to my surprise I had the chefs table all to myself! It was very beautifully decorated and clean and got to meet Chef Shoji. I was well taken care of by both the staff and Chef Shoji and he meticulously explained every dish and we chatted about everything from his time in America, Japan, and even shared some of my life stories. All in all the dinner service was about 90 minutes with maybe 12-15 or so dishes? I was absolutely satisfied and more. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience having personalized service!
