My friends went sushi so he came here. I wasn't really hungry. Also I'm vegan so I was like that's probably not gonna be much for me to choose from but they did have a few roll that I did to get. They were pretty good. my friends did all you can eat option honestly only do that if you haven't eaten because she almost didn't finish any of the last rolls and she had quite a bit to eat, but overall was really good would come back. A great ACYE sushi restaurant. Only giving four stars because the quality is just good not great. The efficient way they're able to churn out so much sushi is impressive. Our waiter was friendly and attentive--checking in to see if we were ready for another sushi order. Most of the rolls were delicious, while a couple had an overpowering amount of sauce. I recommend the Spicy 2 in 1 roll, if you're a lover of tuna like myself. You should definitely put yourself on the waitlist if you're looking for some good sushi in the neighborhood. read more

This place was packed late on a Sunday night! Great AYCE deal on sushi and apps. We waited about 15 minutes to be sat as they add you to a Yelp waitlist upon arrival. Once seated, service was quick! Decent sushi and good apps, which were a great deal for the price. Restaurant was clean and had a nice, modern feel to it. This is the only AYCE sushi place I've ever seen give to go boxes when we still had a good amount of sushi left (without the extra charge), so that's a big plus! read more

This is definitely one of my top AYCE sushi spots in the city! Make sure you come EARLY because the wait is very long. On a Friday late evening, the wait time for a table two was over an hour. That said, it's so worth it! If you order enough sushi rolls at once they'll bring it out on a boat! We were just shy so we got the sleek platter instead -- still looks cool! I love how many appetizers and small plates esque menu items are included in the all-you-can-eat too! I was pleasantly surprised at how good the crab rangoons were, as this is one of my favorite apps and I can be quite picky! It's the place to be and not a huge space so you may be elbow-to-elbow with other guests, but you don't notice too much once you dig in. Definitely a favorite! read more

The service is always great - servers always kind. Tommy went above and beyond for us in answering our questions and setting our expectations. Thanks, Tommy! Food is always spectacular, whether our family goes for all you can eat or several rolls. Hugh quality sushi for all you can eat which is so rare to find and enjoy. Been 7 years since I last dropped a review. Glad to see Sushi Taku is still going strong. I only come for weekday lunch ayce so seating hasn't been an issue and service is fast. Each time they take your ayce order slip, they leave you an empty one. The restaurant is spacious. They even have patio seating for when the weather is nice and the walls open up for fresh air. My only complaint is the rolls are so thick now it's hard to eat in one bite. But the fish and apps are all fresh. read more

As a sushi lover, I love it here. You really get a bang for your buck. Especially if you love sashimi and nigiri. You can easily get your worth. Plus, the fish is as fresh as it can get for the price you pay. They serve you quickly, even when it's busy.. and it usually is most days. You can tell they've been doing this for years and know how to run things efficiently. This is a pretty chill place to take your friends. I've been here with 10+ people and they were able to accommodate. I'd say the only con.. and this isn't to blame the restaurant, but it's so hard to find parking. After a long day of travel, I was craving sushi and decided to finally try out Sushi Taku, which had been on my list for a while. I went with a takeout order and got the Crab Rangoons, Edamame, and the three-roll combo for $23, a pretty solid deal, especially for delivery. For the rolls, I chose the spicy Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Salmon, and Mexican Roll. Out of the three, the Shrimp Tempura and Spicy Salmon were definitely my favorites both had good flavor and texture. The Mexican Roll was just okay, probably wouldn't order that one again. Still, for the price, it was a good amount of food and satisfied the sushi craving. The Crab Rangoons were decent, nothing to write home about, a bit on the smaller side, but still tasty. Edamame was exactly what you'd expect, solid and simple. Overall, I'd say this was a solid 4 out of 5 experience. The food isn't high-end sushi, but it's a great value, especially if you're ordering takeout and want something quick and filling. AYCE sushi spot! I loveee the quality of fish and rolls here. They are incredibly generous with the fish to rice ratio, and every bite was perfection. This place is very very busy!! We had to put ourselves on the waitlist about an hour in advance to get a spot. Has everything you can think of on the menu, from sushi rolls to hand rolls to even fried Oreo and Japanese appetizers! We went with a group of 14 but the service was still super quick, and despite the million pieces we ordered, they did not mess up the orders at all. I usually order alacarte, but I know the all-you-can-eat option is a great deal. I had a great experience at Sushi Taku. It's an all you can eat sushi spot that offers a wide variety of rolls, appetizers, and nigiri, so it's easy to try a lot of different things in one meal. The sushi comes out fresh and the ordering process is pretty smooth, which makes it a fun place to go with friends or a group. Two highlights for me were the crab rangoons and the nigiri. The crab rangoons are crispy and flavorful, and the nigiri is a great option if you want something simple that lets the fish shine. Overall it's a great value if you're hungry and want to try a lot of different sushi in one sitting. Definitely my favorite AYCE sushi spot but keep in mind that waits are SUPER long at both locations so be prepared for that. Since it is AYCE, people do spend more than usual sitting at their tables and enjoying appetizers, sushi and dessert (which is all included in the price)! What's not to like about AYCE sushi? We've visited both the Sushi Taku locations - in Logan and in Wicker and both are always consistent. Food is great and the service is also always pretty good. I do wish there was a better drink selection, but outside of that, I've never had a bad experience at either location. It's fun to go with different groups to try different rolls or appetizers. There's something for all of the sushi lovers on this menu! read more

Was sooo excited to try this place after seeing hamachi kama on the menu for AYCE, I don't see that often. Sushi Taku did not disappoint! We appreciated that all the appetizers came in smaller portions so we could try more. We ordered hamachi kama, soft shell crab, grilled chicken wings, calamari, octopus karaage, seaweed salad, ika salad, takoyaki, lot of nigiri, rolls and handrolls. For the appetizers, we enjoyed all except the wings were okay, would pass on that next time. The fish tasted fresh and there was a great fish to rice ratio, as you know some places can overdo the rice to fill you up but not here. They have hand rolls on the regular menu but aren't listed on the AYCE menu, but the server confirmed we could order them. The spicy salmon handroll was FAT lol so filling but sooo good. Ended the meal with sesame balls, Oreo tempura and vanilla ice cream. The food, service and vibes were all great. It was a full house on a Tuesday night so I imagine the weekend wait must be wild lol. So worth the wait, I definitely recommend trying them out! read more

stopped in to sushi taku on division last night before heading to the suburbs for a haunted house and it was the perfect pregame for that! i'd only ever been to the logan square location even though i live quite literally down the street from this one. ordered a miso soup with a spicy tuna roll and have zero complaints, good as ever and super quick! also nibbled on some karaage chicken, gyoza, cucumber salad, and sesame balls - all of which were excellent, and fresh! Sushi Taku offers GREAT quality for an all-you-can-eat sushi spot. The rolls are standard size, so I'd recommend coming with a bigger group to sample more options. There's a good variety of nigiri, rolls, appetizers, and more, so you won't run out of choices. Be sure to save room for dessert and end your meal with some mochi ice cream--it's a sweet treat to finish off (limit 1 per person). This place has some nice sushi options, although it is hard to get into outside of off hours. We came on a Saturday at 2pm and didn't need to wait for a table. Kids are welcome. They have an all you can eat option as well as a traditional menu of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. We had a salmon salad and it was both fresh and tasty. The sushi rolls were mid, they were fresher than other neighborhood places but overall the rice wasn't as soft as you want it. The service was good, and the green tea was good. read more

I tried sushi taku when i first moved to Chicago because everyone and their mama seemed to rave about this spot. Unfortunately at that time, I wasn't as big of a fan of their sushi compared to everyone else. I think they have a great app selection but their sushi is super rice heavy and the fish seemed really dry. My friend and i wanted to give them a second chance and this time around we had a better experience compared to the first. We had a variety of nigiri and unfortunately the salmon one seemed really dry which was disappointing since it's typically such a fatty fish - but the white tuna was our favorite. For the selection, not a bad spot and probably takes 3rd place on my list of favorite AYCE sushi in Chicago. The service is mid but food comes out fast. read more

Located near the corner of the block, the restaurant is easy to located. I went on a Tuesday dinner time, and I got seated easily with my party. There are 5 of us and we drove 30 minutes to go there . We are visiting Chicago and have been here 3 times already . We love the sushi ! Very fresh ingredients with lots of choices . All you can eat sushi for $23/person for lunch and $32/person for dinner. It's pretty spacious and seems clean. We came during lunch last October. It wasn't buzy but the receptionist ignored us for a while. Once we were seated, there was a fan blowing air (with bleach from the floor) straight to my face. Appreciation post for their great service. Went with a few girlfriends for a quick dinner. Obviously we know that the wait line is long so that was as expected but I had an extra guest which required adding a table in an otherwise full eatery. The server was quite nice about it and set the table up for us in no time in order to accommodate my last-second addition to the guest list! The food, as always, was great. When our waiter asked if we wanted dessert, we said how the hostess told us we would need to leave by a certain time for the next reservation. However, he said we could order dessert anyway. I thought it was weird the hostess was being so finicky about the time, since usually 15 min late is within reason. We did get the red panda. It's mostly ice and a little ice cream, but it was very good and so cute! I would definitely come here again! It is a bit loud if you have anyone in your party who has trouble hearing. You are also quite close to other people in the restaurant.

We tried walking into a few other restaurants nearby, but they felt claustrophobic and chaotic, whereas Momotaro immediately made us feel like we could breathe again. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The portions are deceptive, you think one or two choice dishes wouldn't be enough, but everything was extremely filling with every bite. This was probably my favorite version of mapo tofu I've had in a long time, and the bao bun sliders were so delicious, we almost ordered another plate of them!

The ambiance was absolutely beautiful inside though! It gave off a Japanese bar decor, and I loved how they were playing Naruto and Demon Slayer on the tvs.

You get a spoon to scoop out the avocado and it's sliced so it works with chop sticks. By the way everything is great for sharing which gives everyone a chance to try the wonderful menu. Then we attacked the main menu. The Wagyu Nigiri, the must have Bluefin Tuna Crispy Rice, Crispy Spring Rolls and I drank the juice with the Hamachi and Lemon. Seating was comfortable. I tried their express lunch menu, which is a great option if you're here during lunch time. You get to pick 3 items from the list and I chose tako taco (a little spicy but highly recommend- one of my favorite things that day), salmon avocado (I'm not a personal fan of the Meyer lemon sauce), and tuna avocado rice bowl. Each item is smaller portioned but all together it's a substantial lunch set. I also tried the express sushi and sashimi lunch set, which comes with a delicious seaweed salad which I would order on its own as an appetizer. The lunch set comes with their "oh-my-kaze." This includes salmon, hamachi and tuna. One piece of tuna was substandard and had a big piece of sinew in it. Our server quickly switched it for another piece. The only dish I would skip is the Peking duck sizzling rice. The taste was fine- a little on the sweeter side with the hoisin sauce but the portion was more of an appetizer size. It's also not a true Peking duck, which focuses on a crispy duck skin and this dish just featured duck meat.

This time, we came to check out their spring menu because I remembered them having a sakura themed menu last year. We also intended on checking out their new desserts but completely forgot lol, so now I'll need to come back again. Off their seasonal menu, we ordered Pastel and Lights in the Clouds. The Pastel was very light and a little tart. I loved the pretty pink color too. I didn't get it this time, but my absolute favorite cocktail from here is the Cloud Hopper off their regular menu (starting to crave it rn as I'm writing this, it's so good). When you're seated, you're given a warm towel to wipe your hands. The staff is also super knowledgeable, and the quality of the food and drinks is amazing. It's been awhile since I've eaten here so I can't speak on the food, but based off my memory the karaagé is really good and seems to be popular. I need to come back to try more of their food. Reservations are recommended if you want a table or to go to their whiskey bar in the basement, but we've had plenty of luck coming in right when they open and being able to sit at the bar. This time, we came in about an hour after opening and had to stand, which was fine because we just wanted a drink.

The atmosphere was modern and inviting, making it a great spot for both a casual dinner and a slightly nicer night out. Only downfall is the surcharge for outside food like a cake to celebrate a birthday was even if we spent over $300 dining in. But something to keep in mind of especially when I'm dining with my toddler since not all items on the menu is kid friendly. I'll have to ask about kiddo next time to be prepared for next time. Overall, Yuzu delivers on both quality and experience. It's not perfect, but it's very close--I'd definitely come back again.
