Set 2 (Spicy) General Tso S Chicken
    Priya K.

Stopped in before a doctor's visit across the street at UI. This will definitely become a favorite. Location is also very convenient for me. I had their general tso's lunch special, which included a lunch portion of white rice with the chicken, a spring roll, a crab Rangoon, a couple pcs of Cali roll and a miso soup. This was enough food for 2 meals for me! The chicken was fresh, but it isn't spicy like the menu says. It's on the sweet side if that's what you're into. The miso had a ton of tofu and flavor. Was delicious! Both the spring roll and crab Rangoon had great flavor and were very crispy. Rolls were great too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is also very cute and the food comes out quickly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered at the kiosk and was served within 7-8 mins. I will definitely be back for some of their sushi!

    Spicy tuna poke bowl

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is sooo Midwest sushi coded it's adorable!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We're nowhere near the ocean with fresh seafood, but this is as good it gets here!! I tried their spicy tuna poke bowl, which comes with a VERY healthy serving of white rice, avocado, corn, imitation crab, cucumbers, pickled radish, masago, and lots and lots of spicy tuna. The rice was a bittt too tangy because of the vinegar for my preference, but they were very generous with the spicy tuna. It was so fragrant, especially when they first brought the bowl out. The picture doesn't look like a lot, but it's a lot more food than you'd expect!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]My friends and I sat here for over two hours! They have plenty of tables and mostly self serve elements.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's one of those quick service places perfect for longggg chats![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We ordered sushi here and it was good. Loved how they kept it in a cooler bag and how everything is packed so nicely. They had a variety of sushi and rolls to choose from. They are give very little ginger and the spicy California roll taste was a little different than what I'm use to but overall the crab Rangoon was good. The crab salad could have been better but this is the place to go for just a quick sushi order

One of my favorite sushi spots in the area! It's cheap, quick, and the quality is solid for the price. Perfect if you're craving sushi without breaking the bank. The service is always friendly and fast, which makes it a great go-to for lunch or a casual dinner. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere isn't fancy -- definitely more of a quick eat than a date night destination -- but that's part of its charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, a reliable and tasty spot I keep coming back to.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little hole in the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted with a smile. Fast sushi which I greatly appreciate. Everything was good. I loved the dragon on fire roll. My volcano roll was good, but not my favorite. I wish they were spicy. The spice was too low key for me. I had a strawberry lychee tea. It was good, but I was not a fan of the lychee chunks. Chicken skewers and crab rangoon were good too. All in all a good place for a quick meal

avocado roll & sweet potato roll

Been getting take out here for years and it always hits! The rolls always taste fresh and it's good quality sushi for cheap! Decent vegetarian options - recommend the sweet potato & avocado roll. the veggie fried rice is also very good

First visit to this spot on Taylor near UIC medical center. Orange Lime Tea was refreshing and tasty. Got 50% sugar level and it was plenty sweet. Dragon roll was good but general Tso Chicken was not good. Sauce overly sweet and chicken chunks were just poor quality. Ordering from the kiosk was easy and staff were friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parking is tough on Taylor Street inside store was bright clean and vibrant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

2I ordered on the kiosk which is quicker to me because it allows the employees to focus on getting your order together. The sushi was fresh and delicious. The rolls seemed a bit smaller than what I'm used to but the flavor made up for that. I had the spicy salmon and yellowtail. The sushi is packed well and you get a cute bag with your order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They offer tables to seat but a small establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the pics I posted there's an empty container that's because the stay didn't make it 2 blocks after picking it up.

I didn't get any food here just a drink but the girl working the register was so kind and helpful and my tea was amazing! Also [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's super cute inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll have to come back for sushi sometime!

    Wendy H.

I got sushi for pickup and wow. They put a lot of thought and effort into the packaging. The rolls were good too. Service was nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The store itself is also very cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are a few tables and it's clean inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

My wife and I ordered from this place on Grubhub because we were craving sushi and our favorite spot happened to be closed at the time. Believe me when I tell you, this was the BEST sushi both of us ever had!! We ordered the Mario Roll, spicy crab, BM Roll, and California rolls. Everything was absolutely delicious and filling!! My wife loved the packaging the restaurant had the sushi in when it was delivered. They gave us a reusable bag with their name and logo!! We are even thinking about going here for our next date night!! I highly recommend this sushi spot for anyone who's craving it. You won't be disappointed!!

Party Tray B - really fresh and good!

Be prepared to wait a little bit for a table, or share a big one with another party at peak times. Prices are reasonable and portions are pretty generous. ===== Kind of lost count of how many times I've been. Love getting the dim sum and noodle dishes here. Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Not only will you get a table faster, but I think they tweak their portion sizes depending on how crowded it is. Definitely will be back! And I recommend you visit too

Imperial is the same restaurant that operated as Cai before the pandemic. It still retains its…read moreChinese name, and the Chinese signage continues to bear the name "Cai." It had been 6 years since our last visit, just as the pandemic began. Before the pandemic, our extended family gathered here every Sunday for dim sum after my mother and sister attended church in Chinatown. We also celebrated many birthdays and Mother's Day with traditional Cantonese banquet dinners. My fondest memories were my milestone birthday and my husband's birthday, when we pre-ordered a live king crab prepared three ways, plus other banquet style dishes, for each celebration. The crab legs were perfectly deep-fried, the body was delicately steamed, and the remaining meat was stir-fried with e-fu noodles. The presentation was beautiful, and every dish showcased the freshness of the crab. (Please see my posted photos.) Around the time of the ownership change before the pandemic, the friendly and accommodating manager, Elaine, left the restaurant. I was delighted when my sister told me she had recently returned. On a recent Friday, my husband, our daughter and I brought an American friend to Imperial for dim sum. Elaine immediately recognized us and gave us a warm welcome. The restaurant was bright, clean, and beautifully decorated with elegant chandeliers, just as we remembered. We chose a table for 4 near the window, and the service was friendly and efficient throughout our meal. The 4 of us shared 12 dim sum dishes. We knew we had ordered more than we could finish, but everything looked too tempting to pass up. Our favorites included the Imperial Jumbo Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow), which were filled with plump, fresh, and flavorful shrimp, and the Pan-Fried Turnip Cake, perfectly seared with a crisp exterior (some of the Hong Kong Cantonese restaurants don't even offer this dish, which requires more preparations).  Other highlights included Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Beef and Enoki Rice Crepes, Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Siu Mai, and Sweet Custard Rolls. Every dish was freshly prepared and delicious. Although our friend is very familiar with Asian cuisine, this was her first visit to Imperial. She was genuinely impressed by the quality and authenticity of the dim sum and said she already planned to return with her family. Most of the dim sum we ordered was in the $6.50 (medium) to $6.75 (large) range.  Elaine generously comped our tea and gave us a 10% loyalty discount on our overall bill. Our final bill came up to $78.29 before tip, and $93.68 after.  We were happy to treat our guest and also encouraged her to take home all the leftovers, that made her really happy. As a bonus, the restaurant offers discounted parking at the nearby Chinatown Parking Lot. By scanning the restaurant's QR code with the parking app, my husband reduced the parking fee from $14.99 to just $3 for nearly three hours. It was such a happy, relaxed, and delicious lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.  (Dim sum and the lunch menu are available until 3:30 p.m.)  After such a long hiatus, it was wonderful to return and find that Imperial continues to deliver the excellent food, warm hospitality, and welcoming ambiance that made Cai our family's favorite Cantonese restaurant. We are thrilled to be back.
