Had a little time to get some food during a long lunch break and found this place. Rule of thumb is the places that still look like they could be little holes in the wall are gonna have some really good eats. I got soup dumplings bc I get them whenever I can and they were exceptional. The wrapper was slightly thicker than some places I've had it but it was very enjoyable. I like it when the thicker parts of the dough have that chewy texture to them. They provided vinegar and soy, and chili oil for dipping. I think I forgot to ask about mustard. Secondly I got the beef tendons. For what they charge I got SO much and ended up having leftovers which were so delicious reheated. I got them cold, they were fresh and chewy and the sauce / oil they served on them was salty to perfection. It came with sliced onions and a lot of fresh cilantro, and after mixing everything together for a perfect bite with their white rice was a life changing moment. Everything was amazing. Also for their fresh soy milk, it was slightly sweet and creamy and kind of vegetal but in a good way? Like you can tell they used fresh soybeans that were green and crisp. Absolutely lovely. Ended up going back the next day for more of the tendons and I got a traditional Chinese pan cake. It had the best flaky thin dough that had been stretched and rolled back on itself and then spiraled and pan fried I assume. It was light and airy and easy to pull apart. They served it with oyster or hoisin sauce, not sure but it was a great salty sweet combination. 10/10 would go back will always recommend. I love places that have more traditional cuisine and this is one of those places

Potsticker house has been around for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I remember seeing the ads for potsticker house late at night when the reruns would turn on. Now as an adult, I am a frequent regular at this fine establishment. To start, they have a parking lot! That's a huge plus as everything around is paid parking. In addition, they have an assortment of booth or open seating. I always opt for the open seating since the booth can be a little tight. When the weather is nice, they also offer outdoor seating. For the food, I wouldn't say it tastes the best but it's passable and it's always got me coming back. I order the soup dumplings, which always comes out steaming hot. I also get the smoked pork pancake! This is my favorite. The pairing of the meat and the hoisin sauce between the Chinese pancake is marvelous. Then this time we got this pork belly with cellophane noodle and my uncle really enjoyed it. He finished the whole thing! There's usually only two workers in the front and they try their best to get to everyone. For me, I know and can see how busy they are so I'm pretty patient for service. They're really hard working there so give them grace!

10/10 such amazing authentic Chinese/东北 (northeastern) Chinese food. I love everything I've gotten here and if you come on weekends they also offer a tradition Chinese breakfast with fried dough (you tiao) and dou fu nao. Another one of my favorite things to order is the scallion and sea cucumber. I'm not a huge scallion fan but it's made with this absolutely delicious scallion oil. And another fav is the la pi which is like mung bean noodles tossed with vegetables and a sesame sauce served cold.

This is an excellent place for northern Chinese cuisine. You have to know what to order from here to get their best. Quality- the noodles were above average. I'm personally not a fan of most non soup noodles but overall the taste was good. The salt pepper fish was excellent. 9/10 score for those. It was crispy, not excessively breaded, had a good level of heat and plenty of well cooked fish. Most restaurants don't get it right but they did here. The dumplings are also 9/10. The outer wrapping was not too thick, filling was delicious, and was not excessively salty. My only recommendation is they knead the dough a bit more for the dumpling. It is a bit tough. The xiao long bao is a 8/10. Filling is perfect and so is the quantity. There was still soup when you bite into it but the skin was too thick. It was also a bit tough too. Quantity- they give a lot of food here. Atmosphere- very nice and open. Service- good servers.

Located in the bridgeport neighborhood of chicago, Potsticker House delivers some of the most delicious food you can find in the area. My go to things to order here are the beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, and the deep fried eggplant. If I'm craving a warm bowl of beef noodle soup this place is a the top of the list. There's a free parking lot for customers next door with ample parking. The food came out made to order and was piping hot. This place is a hidden gem. There's usually no wait for a table. If you're ever in the bridgeport neighborhood, I'd highly recommend checking out this restaurant!

This place is a hidden gem in Bridgeport. I love the spicy beef noodle soup and the soup dumplings. I also like the pan-fried smoked pork cake. I've also had the sweet and sour beef and that was delicious. I normally do not have to wait for a table and there's also free parking.

So my friend recommend potsticker house. Upon first glance I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say the food spoke for itself. We got a few dishes and every bite made me want to keep having more. My favorite dish of the night was the eggplant. And a close second was the shrimp. The service was okay. We have to remind our waitress what we needed a few times. I do have to say she was very friendly. The atmosphere or ambiance was okay. The booth we sat at was kind of dirty and the bottom of the light fixture had lot of stains in it. And the booth table was very tight. Overall, I will say give PH a shot as the food was worth every penny as you will walk out stuffed!

Very authentic cooking. The paper menu is a bit confusing, so I suggest hopping on Google and seeing some of the photos and the menu is easier to manage. We came in an hour before close, so there was a bit of a rush to order. Server was nice, but short. The restaurant seems large enough to serve large groups. Not too loud, large open space, good seating. They also have their own parking lot, so no need to pay for street parking. Overall good location. The food all came super hot. Definitely fresh. We ordered a variety of things to try. The dishes are all a good size. *006- Pan fried onion cakes - these were good, but a large portion. Definitely for sharing. *010- Pork soup dumplings - a little too doughy in my opinion. If they were slightly smaller with the same filling I think they would be more balanced. *004- house special pot sticker - I really enjoyed the inside stuffing, but the outside was too much. *604 - shredded pork with onion and soybean paste wrap - I really enjoyed this dish. Don't let the name fool you. I pointed it out on the menu and the server was able to tell me what it was. Nice and delicate, but still great flavor. *116 - Shanghai Stir Fried noodle with pork mushrooms and bok choy - I enjoyed these. The mushrooms really brought a lot of flavor. *31- fried dough condensed milk - I really liked this.

Meh. I wasn't that impressed. One night my sister ordered takeout via one Grubhub. We ordered Mongolian beef, egg rolls, shrimp friend rice and beef with pea pods and water chestnuts. The beef dish that was supposed to have water chestnuts didn't come with any chestnuts so it was just beef and pea pods. The portion size was decent, but overall we weren't impressed with the food. The egg rolls were gross and the other dish were just okay. It wasn't very flavorful and we found it greasy. We'd ordered from this place once before and didn't care for the food then. We thought maybe it had been an off night so we decided to give it another shot. Turns out the food is just consistently bad. Potsticker House is off the list for good this time.

Garlic C512. Eggplant with Garlic Sauce

Food went so hard. Service was awesome too- not like I'm used to in places where the food smacks but the server doesn't have to be too present. Had the garlic eggplant (crispy and saucy), northern pancake, cumin beef. Ambiance was more upscale than expected. Eggplant was the favorite. Excited to go back.

Some favorites: beef cheong fun with egg, siu mai, Singapore noodle, xo rice noodle rolls, spare ribs, pork and century egg congee. All the food has been very solid. Inside is always bustling and can be a bit crowded. Service is pretty friendly as far as Chinatown goes, and very efficient. There's a guy who works there who I think is the manager or something, because he puts in 200x effort and is always hustling. When he's not around it feels like something is missing. Prices are very reasonable and we like ordering a lot here so that we have tasty leftovers for later. This place has quite a few big tables and is good for large groups. My only nits are that very occasionally a dish or teacup will have a dirty spot, and that the bubble tea here is kind of meh. I don't remember exactly which one I ordered, but it was a little watery and lacking in flavor. It's also probably tough since they're boxed in by boba places now. Pro tip: When you first get your table, they'll ask you what kind of tea you want. If you ignore them or don't know how to answer, the default is green tea. Another one is to come at off-peak times. Not only will you get a table faster, but I think they tweak their portion sizes depending on how crowded it is. Definitely will be back! And I recommend you visit too

It had been 6 years since our last visit, just as the pandemic began. Before the pandemic, our extended family gathered here every Sunday for dim sum after my mother and sister attended church in Chinatown. We also celebrated many birthdays and Mother's Day with traditional Cantonese banquet dinners. My fondest memories were my milestone birthday and my husband's birthday, when we pre-ordered a live king crab prepared three ways, plus other banquet style dishes, for each celebration. The crab legs were perfectly deep-fried, the body was delicately steamed, and the remaining meat was stir-fried with e-fu noodles. The presentation was beautiful, and every dish showcased the freshness of the crab. (Please see my posted photos.) Around the time of the ownership change before the pandemic, the friendly and accommodating manager, Elaine, left the restaurant. I was delighted when my sister told me she had recently returned. On a recent Friday, my husband, our daughter and I brought an American friend to Imperial for dim sum. Elaine immediately recognized us and gave us a warm welcome. The restaurant was bright, clean, and beautifully decorated with elegant chandeliers, just as we remembered. We chose a table for 4 near the window, and the service was friendly and efficient throughout our meal. The 4 of us shared 12 dim sum dishes. We knew we had ordered more than we could finish, but everything looked too tempting to pass up. Our favorites included the Imperial Jumbo Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow), which were filled with plump, fresh, and flavorful shrimp, and the Pan-Fried Turnip Cake, perfectly seared with a crisp exterior (some of the Hong Kong Cantonese restaurants don't even offer this dish, which requires more preparations).  Other highlights included Chicken Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf, Beef and Enoki Rice Crepes, Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Siu Mai, and Sweet Custard Rolls. Every dish was freshly prepared and delicious. Although our friend is very familiar with Asian cuisine, this was her first visit to Imperial. She was genuinely impressed by the quality and authenticity of the dim sum and said she already planned to return with her family. Most of the dim sum we ordered was in the $6.50 (medium) to $6.75 (large) range.  Elaine generously comped our tea and gave us a 10% loyalty discount on our overall bill. Our final bill came up to $78.29 before tip, and $93.68 after.  We were happy to treat our guest and also encouraged her to take home all the leftovers, that made her really happy. As a bonus, the restaurant offers discounted parking at the nearby Chinatown Parking Lot. By scanning the restaurant's QR code with the parking app, my husband reduced the parking fee from $14.99 to just $3 for nearly three hours. It was such a happy, relaxed, and delicious lunch from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm.  (Dim sum and the lunch menu are available until 3:30 p.m.)  After such a long hiatus, it was wonderful to return and find that Imperial continues to deliver the excellent food, warm hospitality, and welcoming ambiance that made Cai our family's favorite Cantonese restaurant. We are thrilled to be back.
