I stumbled into Taglio on a Tuesday night and was surprised that (1) they didn't have more of a crowd and (2) that they hadn't done much to the former Lachey's space. The bar got a minor upgrade and the walls got a fresh coat of paint, but there are just as many tables and TVs as the former sports bar. However, it is the perfect addition to OTR if you're looking for something a little more upscale than Mikey's, and a little less expensive than A Tavola (two other pizza spots within walking distance of Taglio). I've had their pizza from their original location in Columbia-Tusculum before, but have never had their Detroit-style deep dish before. I am not entirely sure what Detroit-style deep dish is supposed to be like, but I do know that Taglio's version of it is MOUTH-WATERING. The bartender mentioned the Pepperoni + Hot Honey is a crowd-favorite, but I didn't expect to drool over it as much as I did. It was quite possibly the perfect blend of sweet and savory - and I was not at all mad that it only came as an 18" because it just meant more leftovers for us! read more

Well, I never expected even the possibility of pizza with a crust super reminiscent of NYC pizza crust in Cincinnati. I am not yet ready to eat indoors, and I was a little nervous trying Taglio pizza for the first time as a carry out order. And since I was visiting, it was a big risk. I had the margerita with pepperoni. I must say, it was definitely a risk worth taking! The service was excellent while I waited, and the pizza was super hot, crispy and chewy, and so good. A ton and a half of servers were working and they were all being super attentive, so we really got great service. The space has been made the most of, and is a big improvement on lacheys, who inhabited the space before. We ordered an appetizer of buffalo dip, which was very garlic heavy and very pricey. The buffalo flavor was nice, and they brought extra bread for it which was great. We had three different pizzas, which were all tasty, and some were a bit spicy. Everything is honestly kind of garlic heavy, but we like garlic, so we enjoyed it a lot. We'll be coming back- the menu is great and we want to try more of the options! read more

I do wish that the Detroit style pizza came in smaller sizes, but don't hesitate to order the large because you will want to take home the leftovers! The hot honey - in a word - iconic. The cocktails are also the best. Definitely recommend the Violet Beauregarde, a divine blueberry basil margarita. Came in for an early dinner on a Tuesday night. Overall the food was great and came out in a timely manner. We were the one of the only ones in the at the time. The salad I had was a small, but came out with huge portions. Deep dish does take a little bit longer, but overall was worth the wait! Best Detroit style pizza I have ever had outside of Detroit! The Hot Honey Pepperoni is hands down my favorite and the gelato is impossible to say no to nor should you. It is a little pricey but it is worth it, at least as far as the pizza goes. Both times I have gone I sat at the bar and had a great experience but I have definitely heard complaints about the wait time and serving staff. It is so clean inside and with all the big windows and natural light I think it is very inviting. There are also a million TVs so a great sports spot! read more

I was so excited that OTR was getting a new restaurant and had to try it right away. Since the restaurant had just opened this week, I was expecting some misses; however, Taglio far exceeded my expectations. I wanted to try everything possible. So, to start off we ordered the appetizer trio which comes with chicken strips, mozzarella sticks, and cheesy garlic bread. The portions were pretty large as it comes with 2 tenders, 2 mozzarella sticks, and 4 slices of cheesy garlic bread. Then we got the large caesar salad, which was HUGE! It had a perfect balance of dressing on the salad and was delicious. Finally, I ended the meal with a chicken parmesan sandwich, which was also a large portion. The fresh basil on the sandwich was a big plus and gave it a fresh taste. Also, who can complain about fresh bread?? A lot of reviews have mentioned service issues. When I went, service was excellent but it was also fairly empty due to it being a weekday and poor weather. I imagine that the service will improve as the restaurant gets more established. My only complaint on the experience would be food timing. I went with a group that ordered pizza and my sandwich came out ~ 20 minutes earlier than the pizza. For this restaurant only being open for less than a week, I was VERY impressed. I cannot wait to be back! P.S. try the ranch - it's incredible! read more

Detroit style pizza is probably my favorite - you get the richness of a deep dish with lots of crunchy, cheesy edge bits. We visited taglio on a Tuesday night. They were busy, but the noise level wasn't bad. Service was friendly and fairly quick. We both ordered a beer (they have a good selection of local brews) and salads. My caesar was excellent, but his salad - the house salad with gorgonzola dressing was really good. It came with small pieces of broccoli in it, a nice touch which made it seem more than a basic house salad. We ordered the deluxe detroit style pizza. I have to say, it was pretty good! The pepperoni were small and crunchy, and the sausage had a nice flavor. I did think it could have stayed in the oven a touch longer - the bottom could have been a little more crispy. But overall, I'd recommend Taglio. Plus, they deliver to my apartment - definitely a bonus! read more

Food is good! Service was bad enough that I will not come here again despite enjoying the food a lot. I came here on a football Saturday and was surprised by how few people were there, but now it makes sense. The bartenders were literally going out of their way to look busy to avoid taking people's orders. I've truly never seen anything like it hahaha. We ordered sides that never came despite reminding the bartender multiple times. But don't worry, those sides were most definitely still on our bill at the end of the meal! Updated review. This place has gone downhill. First I ordered a pizza, I work a few blocks away and when I got there at the time specified for pick up it wasn't ready. I paid for it as it was being made, and I ordered cheese sticks. After another 20 minutes I left with my order. Of note, the staff, all but 2, went in the back and kept looking out at me and they seem like customers were putting them out of the way by ordering food... hmm. Back at work I bit into the pizza expecting a good pizza, it was overly salty, I mean so much salt dumped on it I couldn't eat one single bite. I was pissed. So I popped a bite of the usually good cheese sticks into my mouth and it was the same thing. Completely drenched in salt so bad I couldn't finish the bite in my mouth and spit it out. Surprised that much salt didn't blow my heart out. Wtf. I personally think this is because of my profession, but who knows? I do know it had to be done deliberately, no one, no cook puts so much salt on food you cannot eat it, why were the jackwagon employees watching me? Hmm. All I know is I'll never eat there again. Yes it was a horrible experience. A birthday dinner I thought would be amazing with the Detroit style pizza.. no I was sooo wrong. Our wait was very long and then the manager took our order . I guess our server was in training and finally made it over to confirm our order. We had a soda which was flat and we asked for a new one, they explained that they changed the soda bag and co2 tank, and brought a new one out.
