Oh my.....so delicious! It's been more than a month since I went to Taco Deli and I'm still thinking of their incredibly delicious tacos. I originally wanted breakfast tacos but when we arrived, I learned that they stop serving breakfast tacos at 11am with the exception of Saturday and Sunday. Whomp whomp....We quickly moved on, scoured the lunch menu, and settled on The Cowboy and the Tikin Xic. What are these names? Well...the Cowboy included dry rubbed beef tenderloin, grilled corn, caramelized onions, roasted peppers, guacamole, queso fresco. Say what?! Yes, everything I love in one taco and it just works! The tenderloin was incredibly juicy and tender and every bite was oh so wonderful! The Tikin Xic included Achiote marinated grilled salmon, spicy salsa negra, habanero-onion escabeche, cilantro. Why yes, another medley of ingredients that I've never thought of adding to a taco. Man oh man.... Drool status! Needless to say, Taco Deli was one of my highlights when visiting Austin. It saddens me to think that we don't have one in San Diego but It just means that I'll have to take another trip back in the near future! read more

No matter which one you go to, the food is still awesome. Favorites are still either of the fundido chicken or steak - can't go wrong with super tender juicy meat smothered in cheese and onions. And that dona sauce is still the best salsa you can get anywhere. The chips are admittedly meh, but once you dip it in the sauce, its just a vessel to get the dona into your mouth. Strangely the guac and queso are so so. Flavor is a bit weaker than I'd expect and guac a bit watery on the avocado flavor. Still decent, though there exists better in town. read more

Pretty cute taco place. Parking can be a hassle, but since it is Austin, it's not the worst I've seen. Walking in, the line wasn't super long for it being 10:30 on a Saturday morning. There was a big group of us (15-20 people) and most of us had never been there before so we spent a while looking at the menu. Despite there being a large group, the staff was so helpful and friendly to come and serve us. They recommended tacos and were patient with us when serving. The price ($6) for 2 tacos wasn't horrible, but I wish the taco sizes were slightly bigger. I had the Jess Special and The Vaquero. Both tacos were both really tasty and freshly made. A lot of these tacos didn't have meat which was a downside, but they tasted fine as is and I was happy without the meat. I appreciate the patience the staff had with our large party and was even more grateful to have pretty good breakfast tacos when visiting Austin. Can't wait to come back and visit! read more

First time ever coming to a Tacodeli and wow, I have been missing out! When I walked up there was a long line, so I KNEW this place had to be good. To start, I got their queso with guac, pico, and Akaushi ground beef and what a way to start off! It was filling and had a lot of flavor. I also got two tacos: the Frontera Fundido Chicken Taco and the Cowboy Taco. The Cowboy was my favorite which has dry-rubbed beef tenderloin, corn, caramelized onion, guac, and queso fresco. All these ingredients together was mouthwatering!! All in all, I had an awesome time and will be back for sure! read more

My first Tacodeli experience -- and it lived up to the hype. Their queso alone makes me smile, especially when it's first thing in the morning. Breakfast tacos are most definitely worth getting, especially if you can add potatoes on top. It really does help a hangover. You know what else does? Lemonade mixed with sparkling water. Yes, it's crazy busy on a Saturday morning but the line moves quickly and orders are usually ready within 10-12 minutes. And if you can't wait that long to eat, grab a baked good at the bakery around the corner. read more

Nice stop for a quick lunch, mojo fish, pollo fantastico, scallop were good plus and the el pi picosito steak tacos were very good but the Aqua shrimp taco special was so-so. Service was fast and the bathroom and eating areas were clean. I would put this higher but the portion size was smaller than comparably priced taco shops. read more

Walked in and placed a order to go. 5 tacos and a Bowl. Sat and waited for 45 minutes.. it wasn't to busy so it seemed kind of long.. I got up and peaked behind the counter and seen all my food sitting out but it was all made to be eaten there. I asked the gentleman about my order he said "Did you want everything to go" I said yes. Than watched him and another gentleman that were working at the front grab each taco by hand out of the trays No Gloves ... and wrap them to go one by one. Everything was Cold when I got home because it was all sitting out for so long.. if Management is reading this it was a red head and tall Asian gentleman raw dogging my food by hand at the front. I've been stalking this location for what seems like ever. Apparently it opened this past Sunday. Where was I on that? It's so great - everything is clean and fresh and shiny. All the employees here are the same -- super enthused, hilarious, having a great time with each other and the customers. I hope this high energy can continue despite the onslaught of hungry Tacodeli fanatics. I had the Akaushi Picadillo (amazing), the Pollo Adobado (spicy!) and the Portobello Fundido (healthy!?). All of them had distinctly different flavors, textures and I covered them with salsa. What? I'm a salsa girl. No slight against the fresh flavors of the OG taco but I want to sauce it up to perfection. I couldnt be happier with the fact that they've opened down the street from me. I do wish they had wifi but maybe they're trying to discourage people from camping out (like I am.) They have a significant amount of outdoor seating and have really given this whole shopping center cred. Now I can get my nails done, my taco on and then buy a bunch of useless/completely necessary crap at Tuesday Morning. read more

This new Taco Deli is a couple doors down from my chiropractor making it an irresistible stop when I am in the area. They have a large patio facing Burnet Road and the interior is bright and inviting. I have ordered tacos to go at this location twice now and have received excellent service. My favorites are the Mexico City Taco with chicken and the pork al pastor. I usually get Jesse D. the carne asado or the breakfast migas..I assume they must be good because before I can ask for a bite they are already gone. The menu also keeps pesciatarians, vegetarians and vegan diets in mind with lots of options. The condiment stand has all their delicious salsa and the area is kept super clean. They have daily specials offerings. I cannot wait to come back on a Friday when they offer ceviche yucatan tacos and guacasabi tuna tacos! The service here is excellent. The tacos are always good and come out usually fairly fast unless there is an extremely long line and then you may have to wait but that's why you order chips & queso because they give you that as soon as you order it and who care how long it takes to get your taco when you are already munchin' down on some queso! Damn good queso too!! Order some queso - I usually get a small. Guacamole is tasty too - BTW. One thing I'd like to see Taco Deli add is CRISPY TACOS !!! Please work that out!! I popped in on what turned out to be their first day and was pleased to see that they had all of the Tacodeli goodness in a bright, modern, cheerful space (which is no small feat if you ever saw the dark, cavernous Chinese buffet that preceded them). The managers and staff are upbeat and the menu is delicious as always. You can't really go wrong with any of the tacos. For simplicity and freshness, the mojo fish taco or the chicken happy taco are both tasty bets. For a heartier option, I dig the tacoloco, filled with brisket, grilled onions, mushrooms, and guacamole. If you're looking for something a little different, check out the daily menu online to sample their specials, including pork belly (Wednesday and Saturday) or scallop (Thursday) tacos. read more

I've been a huge fan of Tacodeli since college, trying to find the right coffee shop that hadn't sold out of TD tacos before 11am. It was a daily battle. I've been to every location here in Austin and still get excited when I find a coffee shop that sells their tacos.But this one is by far my favorite! People are generally friendly no matter which TD you're at, but the service at this location is impeccable. I come to this location an embarrassing amount of times a week despite the TD on Lamar being closer to my work, because of the service. If there is ever an issue or if I come in grumpy (which happens) the manager is right on top of it doing all he can to please the customer. There is also more parking at this location compared to all of the other locations, which is a big deal in this city. And not usually the ridiculous line that you'll definitely see at Lamarlocation. Their morning crew is amazingly fast, usually getting me in and out just in time for work. The outdoor patio is also a major bonus to this location. The cute little picnic tables outside are perfect for weekend hangover tacos with friends. I shouldn't even have to explain why the food is delicious, if you haven't had Tacodeli yet I don't know where you've been your whole life. Faves: Bean and Cheese w/ Avy, Jess Spesh and Papas EC (Their lunch tacos are great too, I'm just typically a breakfast taco girl) Dona sauce is life, Roja sauce is life's partner People will complain about the prices here, yet spend $3 on a shitty breakfast sandwich anywhere else. Holy Taco, Batman! I just finished devouring some of the best tacos that this tall drink of water has ever eaten. The shrimp taco had delicious, tender Gulf shrimp, the steak fundito taco had very tender and tasty steak and the pork puerto en mole was excellent as well. An outstanding homemade guacamole was a great addition. A nice variety of salsas combined with very friendly service makes for the complete package. Like the Terminator, I'll be back. read more

Taco Tuesday had come around and this place was on my try list! A buddy of mine told me they had a Banh Mi taco, so I was VERY interested in trying this out. I got there around 2PM(they closed at 3PM)and it was painfully obvious that I was new there because I was taking so much time checking out their menu! The cashier was quick to address any questions I had and he recommended the Cowboy Taco and the Banh Mi taco and an order of chips n salsa. Sat down and waited and noticed they served Maine Root sodas on tap! Nice!! The tacos didn't take long to come out at all, and I noticed the chips were prepackaged in plastic bags. Wasn't expecting that, but they tasted great! Just wish they were warmed up. I will ask them if they can do that next time. I got their "Dona(pronounce DOH-NYAH)" salsa and it was GREAT! Perfect balance of spice and garlic! After about 8 chips I started to sweat from the heat but I couldn't put the chips down! I took a bite of the Banh Mi taco and it was delicious! The pork cuts were juicy, hot and perfectly seasoned/marinated. The pickled toppings and cilantro just just it all off perfectly. Loved-loved-loved it! The Cowboy Taco was just as good with tender juicy cuts of beef and guac. The perfect signature beef fajita taco. The only thing I would do differently is have the tortillas cooked a little longer. I ordered them with flour and I like mine rather toasty. I asked the manager if I can order them that way and he said absolutely! So the next time I come in I will most definitely order them custom. It's a little pricey for tacos, but you're paying for wonderful service and the top notch flavors that are packed into their tacos. Money well spent, in my opinion. Lunch is better than breakfast tacos when it comes to TacoDeli. I was so excited when I saw this spot opening in my 'hood. I've been to many other locations, and I love the local feel, with all organic and fresh ingredients. Awesome. They also serve local kombucha, which I always enjoy with my tacos at TacoDeli (giving my liver a break from taco + tequila). The peeps working are great, upbeat and friendly. They have plenty of parking, you can usually get in and out quickly, and it's usually DamnGood (oops wrong slogan). Ok one weird tidbit. A classic potato-egg-cheese taco (my fav)... The potato is mashed/purée/whipped weird potatoes. Do not like. Oh, and their queso is pretty good (not DamnGood) but the chips come in individual sealed packages. Weird. Overall I will continue to eat TacoDeli for lunch, but I'll probably hit up Torchys or Taco Shack for my breakfast fix. read more

This TD location is doing the best out of the locations in austin imo. This location is fantastic!!!! Some business are struggling to figure out how to work well in quarantine, this place is not. If you are looking for excellent coffee, good food, and great service, go here!!! Other locations disregard my requests for specifically the taco deli coffee, creamer/splenda count, and ez beans in my taco. It might sound like not a big deal but I am a medical courier and having a dependable place to go for the coffee (best in the world) that doesn't require me to wait around for someone to get their attention (because I can't go inside) so I can ask for things I already asked for over the phone when I originally placed my order... I need to be able to get in and get out fast as I never know how much time I will have before I have to rush off to another hospital. It really, really, helps right now to have simple things like the coffee I love and quick uncomplicated service and my order be correct. It helps me keep sane when I am risking being on the front lines of this thing. I cannot express how very much it means to me to have my breakfast and my coffee and kind, quick, and correct service. Never quite overwhelmed with their tacos but they are if anything, consistent. Across the board, every store, every time. My lady loves them for their simple bean and cheese on flour and I try to mix it up at every visit to get a broader taste of their menu but one thing she and I can both agree one is that we could practically bathe our tacos in the doña sauce and be the most content patrons. We went in on a Saturday morning and the place was bumping with a line out the door. Don't be intimidated though, it moved quickly. I went for the migas which were completely new to me.
