Great food. Great service. Huge portions. Varied menu. Their burritos are gigantic and delicious.

Best part of this meal was when I walked out the door. We ordered take out. Did not realize how bad things were until.we were miles away. We just kept going. We ordered a $102.00 order and did not get what we purchased. The Fish Tacos were so soggy we needed forks to eat them, none were provided. There was very little fish in the Tacos and it was 90% Lettuce. The Calimari meal was about 80% shoestring potatoes and Lettuce. My biggest issue was I ordered a fish burrito and it was not there. So I shared someone else's meal. To say the least, I was highly disappointed with my first and last time to Taco Temple of Morro Bay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Go to Taco Bell, at least you can eat their Tacos with your hands. read more

The manager decided to change what we have looked forward to for 25 years. She was a bit put off when I tried to explain that we had been coming there for years. She told me that we were the only people complaining. And that if we wanted it the old way we should ask for it. Not good!!! We come up here from LA. And look forward to Taco Temple! Ordered online. Arrived not knowing how things work, the cashier was rude and said order here and pointed to a line. We ordered calamari tacos. $40 for two with chips that come with it. Very greasy and shoestring fries tasted like unsalted cheap potato chips. Mango salsa was great! We won't return. If it was just the tacos but that along with the rude cashier makes it a "no" for us. read more

Salmon soft taco salad is a must-try meal with left overs to take home. The Carnitas Burritos are throughly rendered and tender with the perfect roast-finish crust and fresh condiments to keep you chowing past your bursting point if you're not careful. You WANT to be careful to leave room for the Carrot Cake which qualifies as three slices of conventional cake. And if your cardiologist allows you to come back you'll want to try the Carne Asada tacos and the shredded chicken burritos on days you're behaving yourself so you can risk their specialty cheesecakes. read more

Food was delicious! Yes, a shrimp taco clocks in at almost $20, but it's not an ordinary little shrimp taco - it's huge, with tons of shrimp. And yes, they do put a lot of cabbage slaw on top, but I like that since it's almost like getting a side salad, which is great! read more

I've only been here once, but I am absolutely sure that I will be a regular from here on. Friends who live in the area have been telling me about this place for a long time. Four of us went out to give it a try, and we were impressed. We were all in a seafood mood, so I got the halibut taco, my friend got the salmon taco, and two others in our group split another halibut taco. These aren't what anyone would call normal tacos. Picture a large plate, with a couple of pieces of perfectly grilled and seasoned fish of your choice. (they also had mahi-mahi and shrimp the night we were there.) under this yummy fish is a giant salad, with some delicious sort of aïoli sauce on everything. I guess it's called a taco because at the bottom of all of this are a couple of tortillas. No way can a person pick this up and eat it like a taco! We just went after the fish and the salad, and then as we worked our way down, our reward so to speak was whatever was left of the fish and the salad, inside those tortillas. Really delicious, really filling, and super healthy too. Almost forgot... There is a little side of some pretty amazing mango salsa. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. You get some pretty good chips and salsa while you're waiting. This will definitely be a stop for whenever we are in the area. Check it out! read more

Probably the best fish tacos I've had, and I'm from San Diego. The dish was incredible, well fried and not greasy. The cabbage was tasty, and the sauce zesty. You'll see the price and be shocked at the idea that that's the price for a taco, but it's really two tacos, and each taco has easily twice as much fish as they need. It was two meals for me. The view of Moro Bay is gorgeous, the server was a friendly punk chick who brought the order out quickly. I got it to go, but even though it's in a random strip mall it's across the street from the beach so it looks like it would be a great spot to enjoy tacos after a day in the waves. read more

My husband and I come here every year on the way to our anniversary trip in Cambria. This year we came twice in one weekend. The food here is super, super good. Our favorite is the enchilada sauce, which is made with real chilies and the salsa is to die for too. The service here is fantastic too. Everyone is so nice and willing to help. The facilities are super clean also, which is a good sign. We love this place! read more

This is the best fish or seafood tacos on the central coast. Yes, they do put a lot of salad and cabbage on the taco but they also have huge portions of shrimp or fish on the taco. I take the extra lettuce and slaw and add hot sauce to it and make it a salad. The fish is fresh and taste amazing. We got the killer fish taco and the shrimp taco. They both were huge and there was a ton of shrimp and fish on the tacos. My kids got the biggest chicken burrito ever. The burrito was huge but not as good as the fish tacos. Taco Temple is a favorite of family members that live in the area. So we decided to give it a try after arriving into town. It is a casual spot, where you order at the counter, grab a table and wait a very short time before the food is brought to your table. We sat inside next to the window with a view of the ocean. The food was brought out really quick and piping hot. They offer a vast variety of seafood dishes, vegetarian options and traditional Mexican dishes. Mr. B ordered a fresh Bass taco. A huge piece of bass was perfectly cooked, placed on fresh salad inside a soft corn tortilla, he loved it. I went with the vegetarian sweet potato enchiladas with a side of rice, beans and salad. The sweet potato enchiladas were delicious. Chunks of sweet potato, with onion and green chile filled the inside of the tortilla and green sauce covered the enchiladas. I was stunned to see two dinner plates delivered to me. One plate had the the two enchiladas, the second plate was piled with black beans covered in cheese, rice and a large salad. With the first bite, we understood why the Morro Bay restaurant is a family favorite. We were thrilled with our dinner. Parking is easy as the restaurant sits at the front of a shopping center, and there are plenty of spots. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area. read more

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Portions are GIGANTIC. Atmosphere is very cool with a nice outdoor patio in the back overlooking ocean and Morro Rock. We had the salmon open faced burrito which was fantastic, tacos (carnitas amazing, asada was a bit dry), they give you so many homemade salsas and fresh chips and a special creamy cilantro sauce. I was in heaven! Best thing to top it off was the most delicious peanut butter pie I have EVER had. Rich but also light at the same time with a side of homemade whipped cream. We were just camping one night in town and stopped there for lunch and honestly we may not cook at the campground and just come back here for dinner to try something else!!! read more

Large portions, great food and friendly service. I had the fish tacos. Huge pieces of battered and deep fried fish that were way too big to fold into the tortillas but they delicious! Indoor and outdoor patio seating. Easy to find on Main Street right off of highway 1. We will definitely be returning to eat here next time we are in Morro Bay! read more

2022 update and star downgrade. I've been coming here for over five years and it has been in a downward spiral ever since. This place used to be good with their legendary salsa bar and hot carrots. Now they give you a cup of red salsa and some chips when you order. What they won't tell you is they have some other types salsas and carrots in togo cups. Aperently that's a locals secret. But their salsa isn't the only reason why this place is in decline.. In this final visit I ordered the street tacos. The rice that was included was undercooked. The black beans with bay leaves was watery and they placed the street tacos on top of the wet beans. This made the tacos soggy on the bottom. The asada was way over marinated and not cut correctly. Their shimp cocktail was really good. The halibut tacos were also really good but it cost 18 bucks. Hit and miss with their offerings. Eating here is also a pain.. If you need refills you'll have to wait in line to request them.. same with chips and salsa. Their menu is full of landmines, with a few great dishes.. My only recommendation is to only go with their premium fish and shrimp options. Very expensive but everything else will disappoint. One could argue that their issues are all covid related but at this price point there should be no excuses. read more

I really like this place. My girlfriend and I can split a burrito, they have some crazy name for getting sauce and cheese, which is good. They make their own chips, and they are good. I think this is my favorite Mexican place in the area, be warned it is more California style Mexican, than TexMex. read more

Food is just incredible, had the shrimp tacos and there was plenty enough for leftovers- which I never eat, but made an exception this time. Service was excellent and the place gets packed, but they are not new to having a busy restaurant and handle everything like a well oiled machine.
