My husband had the fish tacos, and my two other kids had the fish and chips as well as the sliders. Everything was great, Cathie was very attentive, welcoming, and gave us a great service. Just had dinner with family, the server and his service were outstanding! My cousin had ordered some type of seafood soup that was placed on a paper doily when served. While the server was placing the boiling hot soup on the table, it slid off the plate and into my lap. Mind you, I'm in gym shorts. The pain was unbearable. I couldn't over react, my daughter and nieces were just to the right of me. Luckily they were not affected by the spill. The server was very apologetic and did what he could. Unfortunately the manager never stopped by. Not one to typically complain, but felt it's necessary. The manager basically f*cked us off. The only thing he authorized was to comp the soup and a few drinks the soup ended up in. I ended up going to urgent care for burns on my inner thighs and junk. The way they conduct business is extremely unprofessional! I'm close to hiring an attorney and taking it to the next level. The seafood was impressively fresh, with bright Mexican flavors . The oysters were clean and briny, served with an impressive array of salsas. The baked oysters (Rockefeller-style) were rich and garlicky, topped with a nicely browned cheesy crust and bits of bacon. An old-school preparation that really hit the spot. The seafood cocktail was loaded with shrimp in a refreshing, well-balanced tomato-cocktail sauce with a salsa-like texture. Service was excellent. First impression, no one was at the entrance waiting to greet (mind you they just had opened) we stood there for a few minutes waiting for the host. The gentleman that came out didn't welcome us or anything he just looked at us and I told him a table for 4. Took us to the back of the restaurant and seated us. The waitress was really nice. The food was ok. Unfortunately they did not have breakfast options even though the little flyer that I took from the entrance had breakfast on the menu. The waitress said that has taken out all the breakfast off the menu. I order the shrimp tacos the tortillas were old you can tell they were heated and then stored, and then reheated again. My husband ordered the smashed crab cake and beef melt with the choice of marble rye bread, which unfortunately, the waitress came back and stated that they were no marble rye so he swapped for sourdough. My husband and I took a weekend trip away and decided to stop somewhere for a drink and an appetizer. It was past lunch time but too early for dinner, so we decided to stop at Kickers which was right across from our hotel. At first, we weren't sure what it was going to be like. It was about 2pm on a Friday and the place was empty. We stood at the front to wait to be seated for a couple of minutes before the staff said they would be right with us. Turns out, it was only the one waiter working and he already had a couple of tables, we just didn't see them from the front door. He told us to seat ourselves and we got a nice spot looking over the harbor. He was very friendly and attentive. We got the garlic fries to share and my husband got the clam chowder while I got the lobster bisque. Hands down, the best clam chowder we have had in a very long time! There was a nice bacon flavor that only added to the greatness. Nice chunks of clam, and a perfect consistency. We didn't even add salt or pepper to it. There was no need. And the little slices of garlic bread that were served with it made for a great dipping pair. I don't have any experience with lobster bisque, but I can say that I enjoyed this one. It had a lobster flavor and a little sweet but very good. The fries definitely lived up to their garlic title and a great texture as well. They seemed to be kind of breaded. Came during the week awhile back and it wasn't crowded and the reviews brought me in. The decor is cool and the waiter was friendly. Remembered him from working at Hoagies in Pismo for years. The view of the rock and water is inviting and made for a cool dinner. The clam chowder was probably my favorite, very flavorful and the toasted bread was a hit. The lobster roll had a good amount of meat and was also very good. The calamari steak Reuben I was most excited about but was the most disappointed with this dish. The flavor I was expecting wasn't represented well, it was bland and the calamari steak was too thick. We wanted a nice breakfast before heading out of town and stumbled upon Kickers -- the cute coastal sign caught our eye right away. Inside, everything looked fresh, modern, and welcoming. It wasn't too busy yet, so we grabbed a window table with a perfect view of the bay -- calm water, sea breeze, and that peaceful Morro Bay morning glow. The menu had something for everyone: frittatas, eggs benedict, pancakes, breakfast tacos, and even shrimp chilaquiles that looked amazing as they came out of the kitchen. The Bloody Marys looked beautiful (I'll save that for next time!), and the coffee was rich, hot, and perfectly brewed -- just what we needed to start the day.
