If we want to find a good seafood place in Morro Bay, then I recommend kickers. It's like you have to savor every bite you take. the seafood is steamed perfect. The sauce and crab cakes were amazing, the steamers (with the broth!!!!) is something you would want to taste and experience for yourself. the servers here do a very good job and our server was Cathy who was AMAZING. We stopped here on our way to Morro Bay every time and have a meal here. It's never a disappointment. If you come here a little bit before the dinner hour you can always sit and watch the rock on the bay. It's a nice ambience and don't forget you can bring your dog. read more

My fav was the baked scallops. The steak and lobster was ok but was served warm. It took a while to get my soup aa a starter. While waiting I noticed my scallops were waiting on the counter to be picked up. A few minutes after my soup was served my scallops came. I hadn't finished my soup did the main entrée was served (everything from steak, lobster and veggies were warm). OK I get it. it's a beach town. you need to be seafood restaurant but when it's mostly fried, it's fast food. But let's talk about our server Layton. he does not possess the heart of a waiter. We sat for i too long waiting for him. Appetizers came out staggered and what was suppose to be a 'JUMBO' shrimp cocktail was their mexican cocktail and when i called him on it the took it back. then someone in the kitchen, probably because they were out of jumbo shrimp told Layton to tell us those sorry bay shrimp were jumbo so Layton doubled down on that. it was more like a Cerveche. our entrees were 'meh' at best. What a great surprise! We almost skipped this place because Apple Maps said it was closed on Wednesdays and the phone went straight to voicemail--but they're definitely open, and we're so glad we stopped in. The crab cakes were packed with crab and paired perfectly with a tangy fennel and arugula salad. The fresh Morro Bay oysters were absolutely delicious. The clam chowder was rich and creamy with plenty of clam chunks and a nice kick of spice, though it was a bit peppery for my personal taste. They also offer fresh-squeezed juice mocktails, and while we didn't try the cocktails, they're made with soju. The views are beautiful, the reggae music creates a relaxing vibe, and our waiter, Charles (I think!), was incredibly sweet and attentive. One thing to know: there's essentially no Wi-Fi or cell service, so texts and web pages are slow or may not go through. Honestly, that's part of the charm. I tried a taste and it was creamy, rich, and packed with strong lobster flavor -- easily the best thing we ordered. Since I'm a macaroni and cheese fanatic, I had to try it, and that's where things fell a little short. It was basic pasta in what seemed like a basic cheese sauce -- no crust on top, no sharpness or complexity to the cheese. They called it homemade, but I'm not sure that was really the case. The service was excellent throughout, and the prices were a little high, maybe reasonable considering this is Morro Bay, where waterfront dining usually comes with a markup. This review is long overdue, but we were in town in August and needing to find dinner after a long day of helping our son move. We were really hoping for some fish and chips but not wanting any excessively greasy options. This place fit the bill, but I was lost trying to find it and ended up there with 10 min to closing time sure they would turn me away. The man at the counter was so kind and let me place our to go order and even offered his recommendation when I couldn't decide between two sides. I know it was probably a long day for them as well and they were ready to go home, but they were all so gracious and even made sure I had plenty of extra napkins and utensils since we would be eating in a hotel room. When we got back to the hotel, we were blown away by how generous the portions were, and the small details of how carefully they packed everything. But oh my word, all things aside, it was some of the best fish and chips we had ever had!! The fish tasted super fresh and was perfect, not greasy, and the fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Even the sauce was hands down my new favorite, I was dipping the fries in it it was so good! But great people, great food, honestly just what we were hoping for. What a great experience. We went on a Saturday. It was busy but the wait wasn't too bad. They sat us at a table, I asked for a booth. They quickly agreed. Service was great. We had the loveliest waitress, that easily gave recs and was cheerful. We had scallops, oysters and the lobster roll. All of it was delicious. The scallops were baked with fried garlic and cheese and were so flavorful as were the oysters. The lobster roll came on grilled garlic bread and was seasoned perfectly. The scallops were my favorite. The Bloody Mary wasn't remarkable and either was the lychee martini. I'd definitely stick to wine next time. Sat our party of 4 very fast. Ordered 2 Rock N Roll fish tacos. Nice portion but one was very spicy. Server corrected with a plain fried fish. My gorgeous wife had the "wedge" salad. This is our usual dining spot whenever we take the trip out here, and this time around it was unpleasant. Our server was a blonde older lady who don't introduce herself by name, was quick to bro gout our waters, but when she toon our drink order, she only brought out my husband's beer. When I asked a few questions regarding items on the menu, her answers came across as though she was mildly annoyed. We waited until our food was brought out and I had to ask for a spoon that accompanied the dish I ordered and we reminded her of the soda my son had requested. The crab-stuffed petrale sole was stuffed with canned crab, and the "wild rice pilaf" was just regular white rice with some carrots. Just had dinner with family, the server and his service were outstanding! My cousin had ordered some type of seafood soup that was placed on a paper doily when served. The only thing he authorized was to comp the soup and a few drinks the soup ended up in. I ended up going to urgent care for burns on my inner thighs and junk. The way they conduct business is extremely unprofessional! I'm close to hiring an attorney and taking it to the next level. My husband and I took a weekend trip away and decided to stop somewhere for a drink and an appetizer. It was past lunch time but too early for dinner, so we decided to stop at Kickers which was right across from our hotel. At first, we weren't sure what it was going to be like. It was about 2pm on a Friday and the place was empty. We stood at the front to wait to be seated for a couple of minutes before the staff said they would be right with us. Turns out, it was only the one waiter working and he already had a couple of tables, we just didn't see them from the front door. He told us to seat ourselves and we got a nice spot looking over the harbor. He was very friendly and attentive. We got the garlic fries to share and my husband got the clam chowder while I got the lobster bisque. Hands down, the best clam chowder we have had in a very long time! There was a nice bacon flavor that only added to the greatness. Nice chunks of clam, and a perfect consistency. We didn't even add salt or pepper to it. There was no need. And the little slices of garlic bread that were served with it made for a great dipping pair. I don't have any experience with lobster bisque, but I can say that I enjoyed this one. It had a lobster flavor and a little sweet but very good. The fries definitely lived up to their garlic title and a great texture as well. They seemed to be kind of breaded. Can't rate the food, as we just stopped in for ice cream for the kids and some bubbly for the adults. But Charles served us and was the most attentive and sweetest dude, so make sure you ask for him! He was so patient with us having two little ones. The view of the rock and water is inviting and made for a cool dinner. The clam chowder was probably my favorite, very flavorful and the toasted bread was a hit. The lobster roll had a good amount of meat and was also very good. The calamari steak Reuben I was most excited about but was the most disappointed with this dish. The flavor I was expecting wasn't represented well, it was bland and the calamari steak was too thick. Well we finales nailed it in Morrow Bay for dinner. We go her ever year when we are in town for the mid state fair. First time at Kickers and won't be the last. Everything we had was great. We wanted a nice breakfast before heading out of town and stumbled upon Kickers -- the cute coastal sign caught our eye right away. Inside, everything looked fresh, modern, and welcoming. It wasn't too busy yet, so we grabbed a window table with a perfect view of the bay -- calm water, sea breeze, and that peaceful Morro Bay morning glow. The menu had something for everyone: frittatas, eggs benedict, pancakes, breakfast tacos, and even shrimp chilaquiles that looked amazing as they came out of the kitchen. The Bloody Marys looked beautiful (I'll save that for next time!), and the coffee was rich, hot, and perfectly brewed -- just what we needed to start the day. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, and every single one of us loved our breakfast. The food came out quickly, everything was flavorful and fresh, and the whole experience just had that vacation breakfast done right feeling. We all agreed -- great first impression!
